The staff absolutely love dogs and they do everything they can to watch out for every dog. The owner is almost always there and she does a great job taking care of all the dogs. They have a van that will come and pick up your dog at your house and drop your dog off at the end of the day. It's cost just a little bit extra but is totally worth it. This post is long overdue. My dog Olaf LOVES everything about DogSpot. As an obsessive dog owner it's so hard to leave your fur baby for extended periods of time. That being said, these are the only people I would trust to look after him for even two weeks at a time. This team treats each dog as their own - don't believe me? Just take a lot at the doggy cameras. The staff changes throughout the day so each new shift is energetic and gets the dogs excited to burn off energy. They make sure your pups eat well during the day, weighing them before and after their visit. You receive a detailed report card including the things they did and how the day was spent. It's the ultimate persona touch. Olaf loves to come visit just for the day too, and he comes home nice and tired. The owner Carlene has the biggest heart and such a clear passion for what she does, and she hires people who hold the same values. It truly is like dropping your kids off at daycare, knowing that they will be well taken care of. The icing on the cake was even Carlene provided transportation for my pup on our wedding day. We wanted him to be our ring bearer and that dream came true thanks to the amazing DogSpot team , who took him to and from the ceremony- and then looked after him for two weeks afterwards during our honeymoon. My pup and I love this place. They make you schedule a temperament test to see how well your dog reacts to others, which makes sense. My dog was a bit shy and quiet, so they kept her with the smaller dogs which I appreciated. I was able to watch her via webcams they offer which was such a huge relief. Knowing and SEEING your dog is safe is a huge weight off my shoulders. I love checking in on the cams and seeing her run around and play and socialize with the other dogs. Also super affordable! Amazing doggie daycare. I honestly don't know how Carlene and the staff keep all the dogs straight, but they do. I love the kennel free environment because my girl gets the exercise she needs, and makes friends with dogs of all sizes, even those much larger than her. They once told me that my 17 pound dog was playing with a Great Dane, and another time with a new puppy. She's inside, which means no sunburn, and as a pale skinned person myself, I know the value of that. My neighbor who has taken his dogs there for years recommended DogSpot, and I couldn't be more grateful. DogSpot is a great place for dogs! My dogs have been attending for well over a year now and this place is a godsend for people like me who have very active dogs but have to work all week long. One of my dogs is just over a year old and has limitless energy. After a day spent at DogSpot she comes home tired but content and happy. I see that two other people have given DogSpot a poor review due to the small dog/big dog yard play but I have to disagree. One of my dogs is just 16 pounds, shy and spoiled. Going to DogSpot has helped her confidence level and brought her out of her shell. At my home she used to cower in fear under the kitchen table when any large dogs visited my home (which is often!) and now she just takes it all in stride. Of course, we can't all have happy go lucky dogs. Carlene "failed" one of my dogs on her temperament test. I was told she was not a good fit for daycare because she leans towards being a bully. I think Carlene felt just as badly about it as I did. At the time I was disappointed that I wouldn't be able to bring her to daycare but kudos to Carlene for caring about every dog (and not the dollar) in her play yard and making sure that every dog has a great play day experience. Luckily for me (and my dog), Carlene is a great trainer and behaviorist. After just a few training sessions with Carlene I now have a much better working relationship with this dog, and a greater understanding of what makes her tick. This particular dog will never be daycare candidate but she's a much better behaved dog because Carlene truly cares about dogs and wants everyone to succeed. At DogSpot your dog will get plenty of exercise in a beautiful, clean and air conditioned facility. I've been to other day care facilities and my dogs ended up getting so hot that they just stopped playing. Here they can just go and go, they never overheat. I love that they are playing on state of the art cushioned flooring, not concrete. It's great being able to get on the webcams at any time while my dogs are there, and see how much fun they are having. DogSpot's staff is very well trained and their love of dogs is evident from the minute you walk in the door. My dogs are just as excited to see the staff as they are to go play with the other dogs. DogSpot also has a fantastic self-wash grooming room. It's a private room, is super clean, and equipped with everything you need. It's priced no more than the other facilities in the area but it's so much nicer than any of the others I have tried. Then there's also the special overnight boarding that DogSpot provides. I love knowing that when I leave my dogs for overnight stays that there is staff on hand 24/7. They actually sleep with your dog, cage free boarding! I don't know of any other facility that offers this service. I've had to board my dogs in the past at other places and based on their behavior when I've returned I know they've been stressed. When I've boarded at DogSpot and picked up my dog it's as if they've never left home. I simply love this place and so do my dogs. read more

I took my dog to this daycare on Saturday. When I dropped him off, I waited to see him go in the yard with other dogs. While he was there another dogs, huge compared to Oreo, was grabbing onto his neck and wouldn't let go. I panicked and let the supervisor know and she responded in a really cold tone that they are just playing and if I'm not happy I take my dog home for the day. First of all, just because its a Saturday and less crowded doesn't mean that the small yard and the big yard need to be combined. Big dogs should NOT be in the same area as small dogs. The dog that grabbed on Oreo's neck might have only been playing but, ended up hurting him because he was bigger than my dog. Secondly, the way this situation was handled was wrong and very unprofessional. Instead of telling me that i was wrong, they could have separated the dogs. After the supervisors response, I apologized and left because i thought i was wrong. 2 hours later i went to pick Oreo up and his face was SO swollen and red. I rushed him to the ER and they gave him 2 steroid injections. IM REALLY HAPPY that it didn't end badly. And when i called to let them know, they kept saying "well we never saw any punctured holes." If there were holes in my dogs neck then I would have handled everything very differently. I called them a couple times. Never picked up and when they did they said they'd have the manager call me, never happened. Called again never got any response until they picked up and said they checked Oreo and never saw any holes and never ever heard them apologizing. I am very very disappointed. read more

We have been taking our 4 month old golden lab here for a few weeks now and she has the BEST time every day! The staff is so friendly and nice and you can really tell that they all love what they do. Each dog is given a temperament test first and then they can stay for free for up to six hours. They also have a taxi service, bathing, training and boarding. The prices for these services are extremely reasonable. I met another dog mom the first day we took Zoey and she had been researching a daycare place for her pup for quite some time and settled on DogSpot. The owner is also super nice and attentive. DogSpot has a great process for introducing new dogs and slowly transitioned my puppies to the big yard with all the dogs only once they were comfortable. This place is amazing. I couldn't be happier with our first day here. I brought my dog here just to start socializing her more. She was so nervous on her first day, but everyone here made an astounding effort to make her feel comfortable. Dog Spot is amazing! The training sessions with Carlene are worth every penny! We used to think that our puppy was untrainable but after only a few short weeks with Carlene, he has mastered multiple commands. But don't just stop at training, make sure you sign your dog up for daycare as well. We take our puppy in Monday through Friday for a half day of daycare with training and he loves it! When he comes home he's exhausted from a hard day of play. Dog Spot also has the nicest staff in town! It's obvious that they're not just there for a paycheck but because they truly love dogs. I'm so thankful that we found DogSpot at just the time we needed them. We adopted our dog from the SD Humane Society and had some behavioral issues that made it very difficult for us to keep him. They were beyond our ability to correct and thought we were going to have to return him - this would have broken our hearts. Thank God for Carlene and her awesome staff - Rachel and Caitlyn too! Dog Spot is fantastic and the only place I feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care. My dog is an elderly dachshund who is not used to being anywhere other than our home. We previously had a pet sitter at home until we recently moved too far away. I was amazed and so incredibly grateful for the care she received on her overnight stay for 4 days. The owner, Carlene emailed me several times a day about Clairabell's wellbeing as I was concerned of her first stay away from home especially since she lost her long time companion. I was so happy to find the DogSpot and my experience was everything anticipated. My husband and I were enjoying watching the integration -- as we watched we kept saying "Now she is being exposed to what she does to her brother "the paw is now on the other foot". We do have another dog day care closer to us and they have good reviews but my impressions from research put DogSpot at the top. I have never taken any of my previous 6 fur babies to any dog facility but I felt this would benefit Pepper since she is like the energizer bunny on steroids. She still had plenty of energy when we headed home after 6 hrs but was noticeably more settled. Her brother (7 3/4 yrs old) was happy to see her but I'm sure he was grateful for the reprieve. Shortly after getting home she and her brother did take a short nap -- then most of her energy returned. There was a noticeable difference in the way she approached her brother -- not that she was aggressive just she didn't know her own strengths -- she definitely had a great day and got plenty of exercise... it wears off within 2 Days. One added plus was she didn't get car sick on the way home. Well 3 out of 4 trips so far anyway. We are looking to bring her Back at least once a week for a while then once a month as she gets a little more settled especially during her puppy years (wish we had the monetary resources to bring her more often but we will have to figure out a way to fit it into the budget). Our boy Tuka has been going to DogSpot since October and LOVES it. I never thought to write a review but because of the video that is spreading and the reviews coming in from people in other states that probably don't even send their dogs here I felt compelled to write an honest review! Carlene and her staff have been nothing but OPEN, HONEST, and CARING when it comes to watching our pup. Tuka can be quite the handful and has so much energy but is ALWAYS so excited to get into the yard and play and then exhausted and satisfied when he comes home. Carlene sends wonderful report cards after a weekend of boarding and makes you feel like you were there with your pup the whole time. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about Carlene and her TRUE knowledge of dogs. I cannot express enough how impressed I am with DogSpot! Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up in the Oceanside area for one night and needed somewhere to board my dog last minute. She goes regularly to a doggy daycare, but she had never been to DogSpot. The staff was very understanding and was able to arrange for my dog to come in for a same-day evaluation, and after she passed, they arranged for her to stay overnight as well. I was so nervous about leaving my baby in a strange place, and part of me was prepared to change my mind on the drive over to DogSpot. After speaking to staff members and touring the facilities, I was wishing I was local so I could send my pup here all the time! First thing I noticed is that the staff not only knew all the dogs by name, but they also were able to tell me about their personalities while we observed my dog during her evaluation. I really appreciate the transparency with their services, and it was reassuring that you can watch the dogs through a window while there or via a 24 hr camera stream. The best part is that the dogs who board overnight are never alone; they get to stay in a cozy room that has 2 beds for the overnight staff members and dog beds spread all around for the pups. They're free to come and go as they please instead of being locked up in a kennel. My dog had such a good experience that she didn't want to leave. This review is way, way overdue. My doggo, Mr. Moose, LOVES Dogspot. I cannot stress enough how thankful we are to have found his daycare. My pup started going to DogSpot around 5/6 months. I even worked at another Doggie Daycare (where I could bring my dog for free), but they told me Moose played "too rough" and was not allowed in the play yard. DogSpot took my baby boy right in. They told me he is a pup and just needs to learn the correct "doggie manners," which I completely agreed. They worked with him to socialized him correctly and allowed him to play naturally, stepping in if things got too out of hand. I took him to DogSpot multiple times during the week. Their prices are reasonable, they have a self-wash station, and are just amazing! They gave me continuous feedback (both positive and negative) which I appreciated VERY much. Its not often you find a Doggie Daycare that speaks the truth to the owners without highly sugar coating it. All the signs were good. When we pulled in the parking lot, he was whining, excited, could not wait to get out of the car. The staff members new Moose by name when we walked in the door (which makes every owner happy). When I picked him up, he seemed sad to leave, but EXHAUSTED, which is amazing!!! Sadly, we have moved up North (where I cannot seem to find an equivalent doggie daycare). But, every time we go out of town (usually flying out of San Diego) we absolutely do not hesitate to board Moose at DogSpot every chance we get. I 15/10 recommend DogSpot every time!!! I never had a dog of my own and finally being a little more settled I decided it was time. I went to the local shelter and found a husky mix in need of a home ( I didn't know at the time huskies are one of the most high energy dogs you could have) I loved Bella, but she was a lot to handle. Since our little Shiba Inu puppy Gita (now an adolescent) has come into our life, I have searched for the right place to take her for occasional doggie-day camp and boarding. Thank you Carlene for creating Dogpot. We have left Gita in the care of Dogspot for half-day, full-day and now boarding and we are very satisfied. The employees treat Gita with love and respect. We feel relieved that Gita can run and play in a clean, safe, organized, climate-controlled and well monitored environment without her collar and leash. She can be free, happy, and learn socialization skills by exposure to other healthy, well behaved dogs. A temperament assessment is required before any dog is allowed at Dogspot. We have visited other facilities and were appalled at the offensive odors and onslaught of noise. Dogspot is clean and odorless (it is sanitized daily). There are attendants monitoring the playground and owners can view their pets via webcam from home or office. We love Dogspot, and more importantly, Gita loves Dogspot! read more

I have been bring both of my dogs here for two years now. I started with my pup, who always seemed to have a blast and was in great hands with the ladies and gentleman there. So once we adopted a second pup, we brought him there immediately to hangout with his brother and all their friends! Ever since we can barely say, "want to go to daycare", without both our dogs losing their minds in excitement. They have also boarded over night and we love getting their little report cards and updates the following day. Also enjoy having the online camera access through simple apps on our phone to check in on our boys whenever we have a spare moment in our day. My dog's paws always get messed up when we come here because their floor is rough and they don't let the dogs take a break from running around. I end up having to take him to the vet every time after I take him here for his raw paws. I asked them if I could put shoes on him for protection and they said I have to buy the socks from them.... wish I liked this place cuz it was a convenient location for me, but it's not worth it when my poor puppy's paws are always getting messed up. read more

My lab/golden mix spent eight days boarded at dogspot. I was happy to see that they had WebCam because I really missed her and I was able to see her every day while I was away. She was active with the other dogs and when she first got there was a little intimidated but the attendant made sure that she wasn't anxious and that she felt included and got a lot of attention. I had a concern that she wasn't going to sleep in a special spot but as it turns out she slept very well and adapted to the open sleeping that they use. If I had one criticism it would be that they don't go outside and of course my dog is really an outside dog.
