My dog goes to this Dogtopia location for grooming and he always comes back clean, less furry, and smelling great. They are quick and communicative, and it's easy to schedule appointments in the app. He has been for boarding a few times, but was aggressive with the other dogs. I had a very concerning experience boarding my dog here. During her stay, I was told she "didn't eat,"AND HANDED ME BACK A FULL CONTAINER OF FOOD yet she has never had issues eating her food before. They returned her food container still full, which immediately raised concerns for me about whether she was actually being fed. This isn't the first issue I've experienced. During a previous stay, my dog lost approximately 4 pounds, which I found alarming. On this visit, I was again given an explanation that simply didn't make sense based on my dog's normal behavior. As pet owners, we trust boarding facilities to provide basic care, including feeding our animals and accurately documenting that care. Unfortunately, my confidence in this location has been shaken. don't know where to start ! My dog was given a bath and placed in the wrong special crate by one of the workers ! I really thought this was a place that I can drop my Bailey off and remain safe! When I say I'm pissed that my dog was placed in a crate that she shouldn't have been in this would not have happened ! I fostered my dog then adopted her thinking she would be protected by all means , My dog has been suffering since Tuesday afternoon due to the neglect of my dog , I was charged 267 for 3 days and at this point I'm filing a complaint for a refund and to pay for the emergency services for my baby! During a conversation with Ms Zoey which was recorded she giggled as if this was funny during our conversation. When I asked how no one noticed my dog was limping she informed me that maybe Bailey wasn't taken out the crate with the rest of dogs at 5:30am. So my dog who doesn't fight or bark stayed in the crate from Monday after her bath after the staff left until I picked her up on Tuesday at 9:30am My dog is 62 pounds why she placed in this crate that allowed her paw to slip down and as Ms Zoey said she wiggled her hand out and layed on her side based on what she seen on the camera She was in pain but excited to see me when I picked her up, Due to this error of the employee this is what she's going through ! You want offer free days of daycare for the pain that my dog is going through. I want my refund and pay for the ER services at Good Vet . AVOID AT ALL COST IF YOU WANT YOUR DOG SAFE. My dog had an over 1 inch laceration wound on his ear, still bleeding when I picked him up. No staff there noticed the injury and no one brought this to my attention. I found out the situation myself at the courier. I paid over $700 for stitching (wound repair) and medicines. They were not being helpful or sincere AT ALL, not even an apology before I requested one. The staff who answered my call showed no empathy and made the excuse that my dog's wound was unnoticed because "there are so many dogs running around at the pick up time" and that "it was hard to notice everything." My response: (1.) I think anyone should notice this amount of blood on my dog's white fur. It's all over the head, the ear, and the neck. This was how he looked like when he was handed over to me by your staff. But none of the staff noticed, not even when he was the only one dog there with them when he was on his way to me. So If I was there a couple hours late, my dog will most likely remain unnoticed, surrounded by tens of other dogs, and there could be serious infection, inflammation, or further rip. (2.) Also, monitoring the safety of all dogs there and at least notify the owners (if you cannot prevent the injuries, which I can understand) should be the basic of daycare service. Our pup has had fun play dates at Dogtopia. We have also boarded her quite a few times. We never worry a second about her, but the staff keeps in touch with us-sending pictures of her and such. They also have a camera online where you can login and check out what the pups are up to. I could not be more disappointed with Dogtopia. For a place that costs this much, I expect a higher quality of service than received. My dog went here for daycare for almost a year until his last visit, when he was bit by another dog in the facility. None of the staff members brought this injury to our attention, but thankfully we noticed the deep laceration in his leg as he was limping as soon as we got home from daycare. We went straight to urgent care and had to pay over $400 in vet bills. Dogtopia's response to the situation could not have been more dismissive. It took more than 24 hours of calls to get a hold of a staff member who could provide any insight. The assistant manager, Gabrielle, said there was nothing they could do to fix the situation because there was "no evidence of foul play" in the video camera footage from that day. Ironically, at drop off the same morning of the incident, I was told by a staff members that the webcams weren't working that day, so I can only assume I was lied to. Gabrielle said she would see if Dogtopia's "customer support team" could do anything to remedy the situation, however it has been almost 3 weeks and we have not heard anything. Again, this has to be the most disappointing care promise I have ever received. If you care about your dog's safety and quality customer service, I would not recommend doing business here. P.S. We were still charged the $45 daycare visit this day and never received any compensation. read more

I scheduled my dog to stay for one night - did this on a Tuesday. They required a meet and greet first. I told them we were from out of town & could it be done the AM of the overnight? They said YES, as long as we are there by noon. This appt was again confirmed via text (I guess its a confirmation.. they texted if they could help me; I texted we were scheduled already & they said OK.) Then, on the following FRIDAY, they call me to say the Meet & Greet must be before the day of his overnight; our reservation was not in their system & our dog cannot come same-day! I like Dogtopia but I no longer love it. I don't go into work anymore so it's not convenient to my commute and is smaller in comparison to other daycares. The price is also higher especially since the rates have gone up. I do love the app (super easy to use and nicely made) and curbside drop off/pick up but that can be hard to coordinate. I check-in in the app but I have to text and wait a while usually. Overall, I'd use Dogtopia for one-off days but the membership is no longer appealing in comparison to other facilities especially since my puppy got really sick there. The staff knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned my dog was sick but I was not made aware until I called to let them know that my dog was sick. I could have been proactive by getting my dog treated vs a horrible few days needing to be reactive caring for a sick puppy. The facility is always clean and the staff is relatively friendly especially Claire. I do love the theme days that they have on the calendar. I made a decision to share my experience. Everyday I look at my fur child and if he could he would tell you. I recently moved into the area and made an appointment for 10am to get my French bulldog a bath and nail trim on June 10, 2024. I was told he would need to have a meet and greet and if passed he would be groomed. I'm called around 5pm saying he is ready to be picked up. I arrived 2 other people were in the lobby. My dog is walked out and has bloody paws. I asked what happened they acted surprised and took him to the back to clean his paws. I'm waiting discussing how long have they been customers of Dogtopia because this was our Very First Visit. At this time it's young adults only and they provide a first update that his bleeding is slowing down they are wrapping his foot. A couple minutes later I'm told he is actually still bleeding and more blood and they wanted to know what I wanted them to do. I asked them to bring me my dog and refund my money, I knew we were headed to the emergency vet unexpectedly! They bring him out with his foot wrapped and a bloody towel. I carried him to my car and drove to The Village Vets on N. McDonough street also in Decatur. The nurse performs a pre check to see if he will need services for the doctor. When the nurse brings him back, she re wrapped his foot and said he will need surgery from where he was cut on his foot. I'm feeling so many emotions, my dog is 6 years old, has a flat nose and the breed is known to have breathing issues, I'm being told he will be sedated. I emailed Dogtopia and asked for them to have the manager and/or owner to contact me because my dogs spa day turned into a NIGHTMARE. I sat there for hours with my baby in pain bleeding. I had blood all over me, I couldn't tell you if his bath was worth anything. While he was in surgery getting his entire nail removed, which left him with a flesh toe. My fur child did wake up and I'm grateful to Dr. Morgan, highly recommend the VET. My baby was sent home in a huge, hard cone, antibiotics and pain relief medicine. I had to take off work, I needed to be home to remove the cone so he could eat and drink. I hand fed him soft food to make him eat something with the medicines. First couple days he was walking into walls and vomiting. I did get a call from Lindsay, who identified as the manager asking how my dog was doing. I explained all my emotions and asked what happened. She said she was calling to check on my baby but wanted to talk to her staff and review video footage. Lindsay said to give her a day. On the same night that my fur baby was in surgery, I received a call from a friend telling me her son had drowned and was at the hospital in ICU, he's 10. I was hit in a short time with my dog and his aftercare, the wrath of taking off work, and a friend who also needed me. Mentally I was not at my best and sent an email to Dogtopia explaining all that was happening and ask for a set time to discuss my dogs vet expenses. Lindsay had asked for me to send the ER VET records and I forwarded everything the Dr. sent including the diagnosis of his foot being cut too close to the paw pad by the groomer. The set day came (Wednesday) I had not received a call from Lindsay, she did not even acknowledge my email when I politely informed her that I was not able to discuss my dog while also visiting a hospital seeing little babies who look asleep with life support equipment all over them. I saw a baby code and was not able to be saved. I'm a Mother of both human and animal children and i would give my life for them. To date, I have not heard from any Management, the young adults that work there - I don't blame you. I do blame management for setting a horrible example of how to conduct yourself and business. Lying for you so you can avoid talking about what happened while my dog was in your possession. I trusted you and, so do many others with their babies and to know that if something happens to your pet while in their care, THIS is how they will treat you. I want to say my dog did not deserve to be treated like he doesn't matter. Did you ever consider I may have not been able to afford an emergency surgery caused by a Company that charges $40/day for daycare. My dog, Avett, and I LOVE Dogtopia! After struggling to find a daycare that meets my long schedule, we are so happy with this place! The location is super close to my hospital and the hours are great for early drop off and late pickup for 12 hour shifts. I love popping on the app to see him playing with other pups over the web cam. He comes home exhausted and I have seen an adjustment in his demeanor with less mischief as he spends energy playing hard. Love the updates and report cards from the staff. I cannot say enough GREAT things about Dogtopia in Decatur. We brought our 2 year old super sweet, but timid, mini-cockapoo here for her first boarding experience. We scheduled her meet & greet and I was given an on the spot tour - it was quiet, no loud barking, the staff was super nice, professional & knowledgeable - the entire place was immaculately clean, the daycare rooms are separated for large dogs and small dogs, all very clean with staff that were engaging with all of the dogs. There is a spa/bathing room with all animal safe cleaning products. I really appreciated this transparency, since I was already worried about this being the first daycare/ boarding for our dog, this tour completely put me at ease knowing our pup would be in such a clean and professional environment. After the meet & greet, we received a report card about how our pup did. The best part is that we were able to see our pup on the Dogtopia App Webcams!! This was GREAT because we were able to see that she loved it - the staff danced, blew bubbles and loved on every dog! The staff also did an amazing job in managing all of the different pup-personalities. You can see right away the professionalism of each staff member using real tactics for behavior and training. There is also a naptime every day, which drop-offs and pick-ups are scheduled around to guarantee this window of quiet time. At the end of each boarded day, I received a text of a picture and a little note - which our family loved! We all felt so happy knowing that our sweet girl was in such good hands.
