We have 6 dogs at this clinic with various issues. He is able to refer you to another practice for specialties (one dog had to have an eye removed due to cancer) or cost (we have a pup with AIHA- a lifelong anemia). Dr. Ressell calls in evenings after surgeries and big events to check on you, answer questions, etc. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A VET WHO TOOK SUCH CARW FOR HIS PATIENTS OR THEIR OWNERS. Last week the time finally came to put our beloved Floyd to sleep. Due to COVID restrictions, no one is allowed inside. So they brought our sweet pup out to us and gave us as much time as we wanted to say our heartbreaking goodbyes. Dr. Ressell even came outside and sat on the ground with us to explain everything!! That evening, he called to check on us and let us know our boy passed peacefully and reassured us that we made the right choice for him. I will never trust any other vet with our fur babies!! Annabelle departed this life and we were treated with the utmost of care and comfort anyone could imagine. Now, we have one-year-old Emma. When he walked out from the back of the grooming salon I noticed he was walking extremely slow. I thought he was doing that because he was afraid of the other dogs. That said, Alexander Deussen was an important geologist who basically donated the land on which this park is situated. What sets this park apart from most parks in the metropolis is the expansive acreage, dark green verdant scenery, forest-like quality and its proximity to Lake Houston. Most parks in Houston have the concrete jungle as a backdrop or, in the case of Memorial Park, are located near highways or major thoroughfares. However, Deussen Park is one of those parks you can kind of disappear into and get lost in away from the chaos and everyday randomness of urban life. I've been here for BBQs and other gatherings, but would like to attend a concert here one day. If you just want to escape the big city, this is one of the best places to go.
