My two dogs stay here all the time, they love coming to Pampered Pet Inn! The staff know them both by name and we are always greeted with a smile. I absolutely love the seasonal pictures they are always doing and it feels so good to be able to trust a business with part of my family when I can't take them with me on vacation. Finding Pampered Pet Inn has been one less thing we need to worry about when booking a vacation and it feels so great knowing my dogs will be having a blast here. I've been taking my family pets here for decades at the recommendation forever ago from a neighbor. The Inn has always done a phenomenal job taking care of my baby when I'm out of town and giving him back to me clean and in a happy mood! I never worry about him when I'm gone and that's a big deal! **This review is for their doggy daycare** I found this place when I needed a babysitter for my pups and couldn't find one last minute. My coworker told me she had heard good things about Pampered Pets so I gave them a shot and it was the best thing ever! It was an easy process getting my two labs in the system. I had to send all their updated vet information and create a profile and they were good to go! I know a few places require you have a "test day" and get approved to daycare with them, that is great and all if you have the time, I don't. My dogs literally have smiles on their faces when I take them now. They know the route and the closer we get they start jumping all over the car. They play ball and swim and run around with other pups. They get attention from the staff. It makes my heart happy to know they are having fun while I'm at work and not just sitting in the house all day. Prices are very reasonable. Half days are $18 and full days are $30. They open early at 7:30 and close late at 6. Makes it super convenient for me with my work schedule. The staff is so kind. They have a great Instagram where I can almost always find pics of my dogs while they are there being posted which just gives me a little update of what they are up to! My attached picture is their most recent Fall Picture Day! Sadly we are moving out of Houston and I am so terrified I won't find a place as good as Pampered Pets!!!! Although the pricing is better than most places in Houston, I wouldn't drop off my dogs here again. Aside from half the employees having attitudes for who knows what reason, I never received any updates or check ins about my pups (which I received daily at other places), one of my dogs was limping when I picked them up and he has lumps and scabs under his chin which were not there before. I don't know what happened or what went on but I personally don't feel as if the employees have the patience to take care of animals which makes me feel uneasy about leaving my pets in their care. These are my impressions. I also requested they sleep together, since my youngest has server separation anxiety and when I picked them up they were in 2 separate rooms/kennels. I do NOT recommend this place. There are so many better options for your fur babies. read more

while the recreation center was nice to my dogs, I was outraged by the treatment of the staff at Pampered's bissonnet center, where my kids went to play one on one, as decided while reserving their spot - since they were not fully evaluated. But when I went to pick them up, I was shocked to learn that they were kennelled the whole day from 9:30 am till 5:30 pm, with only one hour of play, because my younger was scared. That is exactly why they were supposed to do a one and one that I was paying for. Because of my younger one being scared, they removed my Belgian malinois and kennelled her the whole day, and did not even choose to contact me to discuss it. I would have picked them both up, as the purpose of their going to the daycare was to socialize them and burn their puppy energy. I feel I tortured my two pups by kennelling them for no reason, when they could have stayed home or gone to Petsmart where they could have had a great time. If you take your pups to Pampered Pet Inn, please make sure to have them follow through the service you want, or you will punish your pups for no fault of theirs. Very disappointed. read more

Pampered Pet is my go to for both grooming and doggie day care. My small poodle mix requires consistent grooming and they always do a fabulous job. They remember you and your pet by their name. I also love that they have cute themed parties and send home gifts like child's day care. Its a ton of fun. They totally understand that animals are our family. The staff was friendly during my drop-off and pickup of my pets at this inn but the reason I'm leaving one star is for their daily e-card/update service and the fact that one of my pets, a cat with FIV, got sick with an upper respiratory infection. I first became concerned when I had multiple updates/e-cards missed (an additional service you pay for) that would update me on how my pets were doing. After reaching out, I did eventually start receiving updates but one of them had missing text, another had a really blurry picture of my cat. My biggest issue and why I won't be returning to this location is that several days after I picked up my dog and cat, my cat woke me up at 5 am with an intense sneezing fit that lasted hours. Later in the morning I took him to an emergency pet hospital and over $500 later, they told me he has an upper respiratory infection. He's been with me for 4 years and he's never been sick with this condition. I also alerted the staff in the form you have to fill out that he has FIV, so I assumed everyone would be very careful when interacting with him / be careful not to transmit anything from other cats. I called the staff and let them know in case they want to warn other pet owners, I really hope no other pets became really sick like mine. My advise is to be extremely careful and thorough when dropping off your immunocompromised pet - make sure you know what kind of environment they will be staying in, how the staff will take care of your pet, etc. read more

My daughter and boarded our 3 cats for 2 weeks in December 2022. I received "post cards" from cat every other day which cost extra. All 3 cats were well taken care of and happy and healthy when we picked them up. I would take the cats back to Pampered Pet again. read more

We brought our pup Scout to Pampered Pet Inn for the first time today and I am DISGUSTED. First of all, the employees were extremely rude and we left with a really bad gut feeling. Then we drove by an hour later and ALL THE DOGS ARE SITTING OUT IN THE POURING RAIN. We immediately went in to pick her up and she was hysterically shaking out of fear and was also soaking wet. In addition, I waited in the car while my sister went in to get our dog and I watched the employee corral her outside and grab her aggressively to put her on a leash. In general the whole experience was appalling and we do not recommend this daycare to anyone, ever. read more

My dog Stella has often struggled with a lot of daycares from being too excited and 'chompy' with humans (she's a pittie). I LOVE pampered pet inn because they separate the dogs into groups so they can have more individual attention and actually do "enriching" activities - not constant free play like what would be at a dog park. Stella is a covid pup so she was super attached to me, and this is the first daycare she is EXCITED to go to. I have boarded her here twice as well and I honestly dont see myself using any other daycare/boarding service ever. They are so nice and attentive and I'm so happy to have found them! Side note - there are definitely other daycare options that are cheaper, but from what I've found all the less expensive ones operate like a supervised dog park. To me, it's worth the extra money to know that there are actual activities/brain games/proper socialization going on. I can go on about how great this place is - definitely would recommend to any dog owner. read more

***CAT REVIEW*** I have a Persian long-haired cat who I have been taking to this grooming service for the last five years. They have always followed my instructions until today. I gave and always give very specific instructions to only shave his belly and his backside as well as just cutting his nails. I go to pick him up and he has a full lion cut that is awfully done. This traumatized my cat as he has never been shaved like this before. They charged me before I even got to look at him and by the time I noticed I was already in my car. I am deeply upset. They did give me a refund but this doesn't make up for the trauma that was inflicted on my cat nor how they just completely disregarded any of my instructions. My cat has an account with this grooming service and I bet if they gave any thought they would've looked up his grooming history and seen that he had never been given a lion cut. This is also a big decision to make for someone else's cat I would've appreciated a phone call before shaving off all of his hair. Also, every time I pick up my cat, he goes to the bathroom in his carrier. I imagine they are putting him in a cage without a place to go to the bathroom!! This is not okay. Again I am deeply upset and I would not recommend this place. Tip: if you have a long haired cat, this is not the place for you. read more

He always looked miserable when I picked him up, and the last time I took him there he was shaking the whole time. That's not a good sign. So we tried the Pampered Pet Inn and it was great. I could tell he got the personal touch we were hoping for, and I love the extras they offered. They also let us go back and see where he was staying, no questions asked. The staff was really friendly and welcoming and they clearly love dogs. My pup was happy when I got him, and if my dog is happy, I am happy. Suggestion: offer a free day or half-day of doggy day camp with a three or more day stay. read more

We've taken our dogs to Pampered Pet for years and have always had a great experience. They were kind and loving to our previous dog who was older, reading his moods and giving him breaks when he needed it (especially at the end of his life). And they are fantastic with our new puppy! She gets so excited when she realizes she's going to daycare. She literally jumps over me to get out of the car and into the Inn. The staff all know and greet her when she comes in (we take her about once a week). She's especially tired after visiting the Rec center (and a tired puppy is a good puppy). I've been taking my dog to get groomed, boarded, and doggy daycare to Pampered Pet Inn for about 6 months now, and I absolutely love them. Why? Because it's a mom and pop run business that truly cares about the dogs that they serve. I've watched them groom the dogs from behind the door, and they treat them like friends. The best part of it was when I found an abandoned dog on the street and needed to board it until I could find a foster home, the owner heard that the dog was a rescue and immediately gave me 50% off of the bill...that's just plain nice. Took our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier in for a bath and facial clip. She had been scratching herself all the time. It turns out her coat was severely matted close to her skin. This makes the dog miserable. We did not realize that when you brush this breed you have to get the brush down to the skin. Jeannette, the groomer, called and explained this situation required a summer cut. She was adamant about what was best for our dog, but was not condescending about our lack of proper grooming. We ended up having to get our dog a sweater, but she not scratching herself anymore. For a close cut, she looks great. We will be bring her in on a regular basis. read more

I love this place! I thought I would write a review because I saw a disgruntled ex employee gave an untrue review and it really bothered me. Last I heard she was working for a competitor so I'm not surprised. I would however be surprised if she still had a job because she was terrible, and that's when she bothered to show up. To be completely honest I worked here for 4 years and wish I could have stayed longer. I don't need a reference so no sucking up here. The employee Alexis was completely worthless for one and I'm so glad to hear she is no longer working there. First of all, the building has been there since 82 so yes there is some wear and tear but those pictures are not from kennels where the animals are kept. Notice how there's no dogs in her pictures . The owners are constantly doing repairs and what they can to keep the building up. ( just put in new floors) It literally has like 5 or so air conditioners so yes occasionally 1 goes out but it gets attended to that day! They have giant fans that cost a fortune in case that happens to make sure the dogs are always comfortable. To post that like it's a bad thing is ridiculous. The dogs in grooming always have water they have bowls attached to the front of the cage that they fill up for them. They get a potty break during morning and then at shift change in afternoon. The former employee fails to mention that part . Most of the people who work there have been there for YEARS even decades lol. Jose in kennel has been there prob 25 years and is like family to them same with Jaime and Jeanette in grooming. All of the employees board their dogs their when they go out of town or anything so that says a lot about the care they give. I would never board my babies in a place I didn't think was amazing. Oh by the way, when the former employee Alexis couldn't keep her cat at her place ( for whatever reason) guess who allowed her to keep it at the shop for months at no charge so she didn't have to get rid of it. Why would she leave her cat there if she didn't think they cared for the animals. Ms. Ellen did and always goes above and beyond to make sure her employees are taken care of as well as the animals she is responsible for. Just in the 4 years I was there they probably rescued and rehoused about 20 or so animals. Everyone there is an animal lover so they are constantly pulling dogs off the streets and all of the vet care, food boarding is taken at a loss or their amazing customers make donations that help out. Ms. Ellen and her daughter Erin have hearts of gold and it makes me sad to read anything negative about this place. The front manager Amanda is the sweetest girl and she lives and breathes to help and love animals. She spends whatever spare time she has going around feeding the homeless and their pets. She literally collects all the unused or expired food that is left behind and gives it to the animals on the streets. Almost everyone of the employees there have 1 or several dogs that were rescued or abandoned there. The dogs always have a blanket or mats to lay on unless they eat them and it's a hazard to their health. The laundry is usually backed up for days for this reason lol so occasionally you might have to wait to get your blanket back if you leave one there. That's one negative thing I can say is that they have to much laundry to keep up with because blankets and mats and dog beds take up a lot of room in the washer and it's impossible to keep up with it all. The blankets and mats get changed first thing in the morning and whenever they get soiled so it adds up fast. I could go on and on about this amazing place but I know nobody likes a long review. I would trust these people with my babies and that's saying a lot, I don't trust anyone with my dogs. read more

I've been taking my dogs to PPI for about 4 years now. I've tolerated things that were less than ideal (like the state of the lobby) because my dogs always seemed happy when I picked them up. That's no longer the case after they injured my 5 month old puppy during his first grooming appointment yesterday. My puppy has been limping since I picked him up, and PPI's explanation for that was that he was very difficult during his grooming appointment and his paw had to be held "firmly" in order to trim his nails. Rather than stop and call me so I could decide whether to continue, they chose to hold his paw so hard that he's still limping 24 hours later. I didn't get an apology; if anything their attitude was that this was my fault for my puppy not being better behaved for his VERY FIRST grooming. I would never have allowed them to continue had I known what was happening. Congrats on making his first experience terrible and losing a long-time customer. read more

My dog has been sleeping and snoring the last couple hours. I just checked him out of the Pampered Pet Inn! Their front desk setup is funny with elegant framed portraits of dog busts showcased in aristocratic clothes. On the ceiling, there's a taxidermy cat that looks scared shitless. The only thing I didn't like was bird cages in the front room. One bird practically ruptured my eardrum with it's high-pitched SQUEAK! Pampered Pet Inn prices are very reasonable. My 35 lb. bulldog cost $25/day. I used a Yelp check-in coupon bringing that cost down $5 total at checkout. The services they provide are good too, separating dogs from cats in two separate buildings. They take the dogs out 4 times a day dog park style. They even washed my dog's bed for us on the last day. Now, I just gotta wash him. He must of had fun 'cause he stinks like a dog! read more

I would be hesitant brining your pup here. I did a weekend stay and what followed after pickup sucked. She puked and shit everywhere the entire next day uncontrollably (vet visit #1), she acquired an infection in her paw (vet visit #2), and her demeanor has completely changed towards other dogs. I have noooo idea what she experienced in those few days away. But now when she sees certain breeds her defense mechanism triggers and she attacks... she NEVER attacked prior to this stay. Its proven to be very difficult to break and catching all the residents off guard here as theyve never seen her like this before. It may be convenient or more affordable but from my experience, not worth it. read more

I've been getting my dog groomed here for over a year. Each time he comes back, he looks fresh, is super cleaned up (ears, nails, paw pads, hair around his backside and underside), and he is also HAPPY and isn't anxious (which is a huge relief). Another plus to this is that the prices are extremely competitive in comparison to other groomers, and I always feel like I'm getting the best deal for all that is done. This past weekend I boarded my little boy for the holiday (he usually stays with friends). Obviously, I was nervous and concerned, as this was his first time being boarded in Houston. Winston came back calm and collected, clean, and his items were returned all together. They even called me to let me know I had left something of Winston's there, and they would hold it until I could come back and get it. (Great customer service). A great point of mention is that the owner, Ellen, is always there and she LOVES dogs. They also have an online appointment scheduler, and they always call you to let you know your pup is ready to pick up. I feel safe knowing Winston stays with them - he always comes back in a good state and calmer than he is when he's at home. read more

Very kind staff, and easy curbside pickup/dropoff given the COVID situation. However, and especially with COVID limiting my interaction inside, I would've liked ANY representation (phone call, text, photo, social media post) featuring my dog during their boarding stay. As a new customer during this time of COVID, I didn't even get to see the facilities for myself, which is understandable but disappointing nonetheless (no photos online either at the time of this post). The fact that they charge money for a photo/update of my dog is the reason for my rating. The previous boarding facility I used in another city ran their own social media page with hourly updates on all dogs... just one thing as a pet owner that really sells a place. Overall my dog seemed fine after the stay, and they did a nice grooming service, so I'll probably use them again unless I find somewhere else nearby that fits my wants a little better. read more

Going to day care has turned our timid little puppy into a social dog that loves to play. I don't usually do reviews but this was SO BAD that I must do it. Basically, my dog returned with a cold and caught. She is the happiest dog and the day I picked her up she was really sad. Just when we arrived, she drank a lot of water. I sent her the exactly amount of food for a week and they return me 1/4 of the bag. Seems like they do not like to feed and water your dog so they don't have to take them to another walk. Honestly, I totally regret and feel sorry about my trip everytime I listen her caughing. read more

Worst place I've ever been for grooming. The place was filthy and smelled horrible. There was a wide river of urine all across the front entrance which was being tracked into the already nasty building. The lobby is dark and dingy. I had made an appointment for my senior dog to be groomed be Ellen, the owner. I filled out the pre-registration form and was clear I was requesting Ellen groom my dog. When I arrived for my appointment, there were 2 young women at the desks, but neither was anxious to greet us. When I told them I had an appointment with Ellen, they told me she wasn't working that day. I reiterated I had an appt with her, at which point they called her and asked if she was coming in. They said she'd come in within 30 minutes to groom my girl. I volunteered to come back later if she'd be longer than 30 minutes as I didn't want my senior there all day stressed out. They assured me she'd be 20/30 minutes. I reluctantly let them take my girl to the back. They put her in a cage and her leash was still attached and hanging out of the kennel door. I asked them to remove her leash, they said they'd "get it in a minute" and disappeared. Another girl then went and removed the leash and harness. I reluctantly left, trying to remain positive as they'd come highly recommended. A full TWO HOURS later I called to see how it was going and Ellen still had not arrived. I told them I was coming to pick up my girl. About 20 minutes later, as I was driving to pick her up, Ellen called and said she was there and would get started right away. I told her no, I was coming to get my dog. She then said she'd "had an emergency." Really?? I arrived moments later to find nothing had been done. My poor senior dog had been in a kennel in a strange, dirty place for no reason and for two+ hours. NO EXCUSES. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. To add insult to injury, my pup now stunk like the filthy business. This was a truly horrible, hideous experience. NEVER AGAIN!! RUN as fast as you can from this place and the complacent, lying staff. Time to get out of the business when you just don't care any more. read more
