Feel bamboozled here. "Gym membership for dogs" is the best summary. They want to lock you in & keep the keys. Do not bother paying for a meet & greet if you have no longterm interest in using them. Our three dogs were approved, but we were unable to leave them at dogtopia immediately and they made us pay for an additional meet & greet about a month or six weeks later. Also, watch the live feeds, you will see dogs stepping in puddles of pee and no one cleaning it up. read more

Went for a meet and greet. Upon walking in you get hit with an unpleasant smell. I didn't realize that they didn't have an outdoor area for the dogs. They all use the restroom in the room and it just gets cleaned up. Doesn't seem very sanitary. Will not be bringing my dog here since she didn't pass the meet and greet due to being scared of other dogs. read more

On 3/5/24, they sent my dog home with the wrong person. When I arrived, they tried to give me a dog that wasn't mine, then left me standing in the lobby for 20 minutes, in a panic, before finally explaining whoever the person was, was on their way back with my dog. They showed no remorse at the time, and did not follow up until I wrote an email and submitted via their website. Dropped off my dog for a 1 week boarding. They did not have a private room available but said one will be available in a couple of days and they would call me, they did not. They have a camera so we could watch her in the boarding/playroom, but we noticed our usually playful dog was not. It was hard to spot her because she was lying by the kennels and she was not up and about for a few days before our return. When we picked her up I could see right away she did not look good. She was happy to see us but when we got home she was not herself. I could see she had an eye infection. I can't believe the staff at Dogtopia did not notice anything. My pup has only spent one full day there but the staff have been absolutely incredible and very supportive. I have had many friends and family with pups going to this site and they're all very happy. Great location. Staff. Webcams. They even kept my pups food cold until lunchtime (fruit). The overall experience was not the best. It feels like the daycare rooms are a bit small and congested for larger dogs. My dog attended the meet and greet and ended up getting Kennel Cough on her first visit, and no one on the staff communicated that there may be a case of this going on. The staff then signed me up for a 1 day a week daycare program and charged me, when I said I was still considering whether or not we would be moving forward with attending daycare. It will not be something I am going to continue for my dog. read more

My dog got sick and had to be put down after visiting this place. She was so sick we had to put her into a vet hospital.

It must be the 'new' math. I explicitly said to the groomer one (1) inch trim all around. I'm referring to a Papillion where her fur is an integral part of her look.. I was given a 2 hour window, returned at the prescribed hour and was told another 30 minutes which was fine. When I went to get the dog, she was shaved down to skin. Nowhere is that one inch off the top. The dog looks like a chihuahua with a fluffy tail. Totally unacceptable having now to wait 6 months or more for this fiasco to get resolved by her hair growing back. There are so many groomers out in the marketplace I believe that they would never assume that 1"= 5" and get not get a verbal go ahead.. yet amazingly these folks did. Buyer beware. read more

After deep consideration I have decided to post this. Sarah loves dogtopia, but unfortunately the new owners have changed the rules. I can only bring her every week or not at all. Cooler weather, change in schedule or life... I didn't want to bring her weekly, so I wasn't able to bring her at all. Her friends, staff and playtime had to stop. We've been taking our dog here for daycare since he was a few months old, along with our older dog. The staff is so kind and they truly love your animals. The dogs are extremely excited every time we pull up. The boarding service is pricey but so worth it when you factor in the full day of daycare/playtime that comes with it. The hours are flexible, you can drop them off as early as 7am and pick them up on Sunday until 7pm. No other boarding place is like this. They've even let me drop off earlier than 7am to catch a flight. The staff is there late with the dogs and they arrive early in the morning. We've also used the grooming service and were very happy. I have nothing but good things to say about Dogtopia in Oro Valley. Firstly, we started taking our dog here a year ago when we got him as he had a smidge of separation anxiety and he has a lot of energy. As you could have guessed, he loved it. I loved that I could spy on him from their online cameras and that the staff knew my dog by name and were always excited to see him even though he can be obnoxious. When COVID-19 hit, they closed for a bit and offered personal dog sitting services to those on the frontlines (us). We decide to keep him home due to the nature of our jobs. Once they reopened, they were amazing about refunding our daycare package! I can't wait for COVID-19 to be over so I can take my doggy back to his favorite play place. read more

Great place! They were very friendly and Professional. I even talked through the facility to make sure everything was legit. They have air conditioning all the time for the dogs. Nap time is 12-2pm so if you drop your dog off for an eval should be done in the morning and you can leave them there all day as needed. I went in last week to get a tour and check out the new doggie day care that opened up near Oracle and Magee. I saw an ad on my Facebook about their pre grand opening. I thought I would check it out since I am always wanting to take my great Dane out. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by one of the owners who told me about why the family decided to open up a doggie day care and boarding place. It's a super cute story and everyone is very welcoming and friendly. She gave me a tour and asked me about my dogs and what they had to offer. At that time I scheduled an evaluation where they do a meet and greet with the dog to make sure it is going to be a good fit. I came in a few days later with my Dane Bailey who loved it there. I even left her there for the rest of the day. I was able to check in on her using their website and seeing the camera they had o streaming video. The evaluation is $15, but the dog can stay until close at 7 if you wish. They have 3 rooms for different size dogs. This way the smaller dogs are not with the larger dogs. Their prices are higher than camp bow wow and I am not sure if I can justify spending that much more for around the same concept. For a full day of doggie day care it's $35 and camp bow wow is $20. The same goes with boarding. At Dogtopia it is $55 a night vs $35 at Camp Bow Wow. I will bring my dog back since she really liked it and made a new friend. When my husband picked her up she was nice and tired the test of the evening. It is closer to my kids school and where I run my errands, so we will be back. read more

We have been taking our dog to Dogtopia Oro Valley for 2 years & we were platinum members. The facility has drastically gone downhill in 2022 and we will not return. We recently picked up our dog only to discover a deep puncture wound along his spine. We were not notified by staff. Multiple vet visits, antibiotics, and wound debridements later we are out a thousand dollars. Both the facility manager and corporate said we signed a waiver and our only option was to cancel our membership. No apology. I understand that dogs play hard and occasionally get hurt, that is why we pay for "supervised" day care. All I want is what I paid for... "supervised" care. We were told the facility is at max capacity and they are understaffed. If you can not provide the service I pay for and keep my dog safe than you need to decrease the amount of dogs you accept. read more

Absolutely horrible! My wife called about an hour ago and the male at the other end of the phone was absolutely rude! Ignorant! He was extremely unprofessional! THis isn't the first time either, when we dropped our pup off a month or so ago I was told that his stay would be free for the first few times until he gets acclimated, when I came to pick him up they charged me. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't talk to customers like that. The Dogtopia of South Elgin, IL was my absolute favorite doggie daycare facility, this facility is vastly different. I made an appointment with PetSmart Pets Hotel on Wetmore in Tuscon, they were remarkable in their customer service and much cheaper! I really hope you lose business over this, especially with COVID-19 affecting your facility, you would think you would want business, but I was wrong. Response to Owner's Response: You can appreciate whatever you want! Don't patronize us. Don't play the miscommunication garbage. Don't deflect from the real issue here and it's that your employee was a complete donkey to my wife. He was ignorant, rude and downright disrespectful. Basically fits your place of business. This isn't the first time this has happened. I will make sure with every fiber of my being to let anyone and everyone I come across with pets to avoid your place of business. You're not going to be able to just write your way out of this. That isn't going to work this time. Yes your new policies are garbage and yes your place of business is actually a Doggie Daycare/Boarding/Hotel but you can spin and twist all you want, it won't work. On March 18, 2021, I arrived at the Dogtopia Oro Valley location to pick up my dog Lucy. As I usually do, I called the location several minutes ahead of time prior to arriving at the location, to let them know that I am ready to pick up my dog at curbside. This has been my preference, and on most days, my dog has been brought out to me at my car without any problem. I have been avoiding entering the lobby area, especially during busy times of the day when there are several people waiting and standing around in the lobby. I am following social distancing guidance from the CDC, and although I am vaccinated, I come into contact with a lot of people who are COVID positive, and who are already sick and vulnerable. I try to avoid this close contact in the lobby because I don't want to spread the virus to others, and I don't want to get sick with it and spread it to people at my workplace. However, there have been occasions where when I call in advance, the phones were not being answered. I would get the voicemail recording, then I would hang up and call back. I would usually attempt to call back 2-3 times, thinking that they were busy helping someone else at the moment that I called. This would continue to happen on occasion. On March 18, 2021, it happened again. I called Dogtopia at 5:41pm to let them know that I am arriving in the parking area to pick up my dog. I believe the cell phone connection on the initial phone call may have been poor, so I recall someone answering the call, but it got disconnected and I could not hear them. So I parked, and attempted to call again, not sure if the staff member heard me on the first phone call. The subsequent 2 phone calls that I made were not answered. I then exited my car and walked into the lobby. The manager Rachel was sitting at the front desk, and did not make any eye contact with me even though she could clearly see me entering the door. Her headset was on, and it was difficult for me to determine whether she was on a phone call as she was not speaking and her eyes were focused on the computer in front of her. I tried to get her attention by waving to her, and then I thought I heard her mutter under her breath, "**** you." I was shocked, and initially thought I misheard her, and I said "excuse me?" She then said louder, and this time, looked up at me and said louder this time, "**** YOU." I was in shock and said it right back to her, and stated that I would like to speak to the manager, not knowing that she was the manager. She apparently was on the phone the entire time with another person, who probably could overhear everything that was going on. She then finished her phone call, threw her headset on the desk, pushed open the swinging door aggressively while leaving the desk area, and stormed off angrily to retrieve my dog. She brought out my dog from the back room as I waited in the hallway. I perceived that she was being rough with my dog, aggressively swinging the door open as she was exiting the door from the back room with my dog, who was visibly frightened with her tail between her legs. She then told me that I am no longer welcome there, and to get out. Later on that evening, I received a call from the owner Henry Jennings, asking for my version of the events which I explained to him as noted above. Rachel the manager apparently contacted him after I left the location. He stated that he would investigate and contact me later, which he did on March 19, 2021 on 6:31pm. He stated that he completed the investigation, reviewing cameras and phone recordings. He stated that Rachel was remorseful about the altercation, and gave me a few reasons why she was having a bad day, including being understaffed which is irrelevant to me as a customer. He stated that she would like to apologize, but she has not reached out to me. Not sure if he was apologizing for her, or if he meant that she would like to apologize to me directly. I stated that she is the professional here, she is the manager. No matter how upset or frustrated a customer is, her response and the way that she handled the situation was WRONG. Someone who acts this erratically with a volatile temper should not be taking care of your dog! Look elsewhere for your daycare needs! read more

What a wonderful place! We picked up Our furry children Sunday after their first stay. We have 2 dachshunds, George and Pei Pei, we had them groomed while they were there. Everything about this place is too notch!!! The puppies were happy and Pei Pei wasn't sick and skinny (she wouldn't eat at the last boarding place) from the very first time we visited to check the place out since we had to switch boarding places, these folks at Dogtopia have been incredible! . ( we had a problem at last BIG boarding place in town where our George had been injured when we picked him up and had to have months of Optimetrist work, so we had to switch) anyway, this place is phenomenal! The people are so friendly, so good With the animals, it's clean, quiet and smells wonderful. And the groomer!!!! The groomer did exactly what we wanted and our dachshunds look amazing! Don't let that groomer go anywhere! Before every time we went on a trip we were miserable with worry, now we will be very very relaxed knowing our babies are well taken care of! They were so friendly, knew all the dogs and it was super clean and bright. They do a great job introducing the dogs. Took my dog Libby to get her groomed and they did an amazing job. I usually take her to Petsmart and Dogtopia was less expensive too :-). Very happy and we will be coming back. As a Nurse working 10 plus hour days my Lab puppy needed a home away from home, Dogtopia has become not just a place we drop off the dog but family. The staff are so loving, kind, and most importantly informed. There are so many things I am still learning about the breed of my dog and fortunately the staff are always giving me information or are the perfect resource for questions. I am forever grateful for the peace of mind these caring individuals provide myself and the kids. My dog now 4 months old does the unlimited package and I have not a single complaint. Marley has become such a loving and calm companion and I feel a responsibility as a pet owner to treat him as I would treat one of my own children. After visiting another local dog boarding place and being very disappointed, we tried Dogtopia today. The staff not only welcomed us, but were so friendly with our 1-year old mini schnauzer. We left him after the meet and greet for about 5 hours and he wasn't shy around the other dogs at all. The "report card" we received said he had enjoyed playing on the play equipment and listed three doggy friends he had played with. It was nice to see him petted by the staff and not ignored. When we picked him up, he had obviously enjoyed himself. We will definitely take him there again, and will recommend Dogtopia to other pet parents! read more

My wife and I brought our puppy in on a whim one day this summer and we were greeted by Josh as soon as we got in the door. He was super friendly and gave us a full tour of the space, explained the dog friendly chemicals they use for clean ups, explained in full the days schedule (open 7am-7pm, nap time in kennels 12-2pm), talked about their grooming and boarding services, etc. etc. We bring our pup in about once a week and would do it more if it wasn't so expensive ($35 for a full day is my only knock on the place). We've used the groomers once and they did a fantastic job! We can watch her all day on the webcams which is great but you have to refresh the page every couple minutes (minor annoyance). Overall, pup seems to love it, definitely knows what the word "Dogtopia" means (she goes nuts) and when she comes home, she's so relaxed and tired. We will continue bringing her here for a long time. My favorite thing about Dogtopia is the staff. They are always so friendly at the front desk and each time we bring our dog in they immediately greet us and seem genuinely excited to spend the day with our dog. We were looking for a new place for our fur babies to stay when we travel and we are so impessed with Dogtopia. They totally get it. It's clean (no "kennel" smells) and the staff is so caring and knowledgeable. We brought our boys for a "meet and greet" and they stayed for the afternoon - even got their nails cut while they were there! We watched them on the TV in the lobby area and they had so much fun playing with the other dogs. We can't wait to bring them back for an overnight.
