WARNING TO ALL DOG PARENTS...DO NOT EVER bring your dogs here for boarding, day care or grooming. The management and people that work here are rude, uncaring, and are completely unprofessional. I have been a customer for over 8 years and have spent thousands of dollars boarding my dog at both of their locations. For many years, I had great experiences boarding my dog at the Coconut Grove location and have been using the Brickell location for the past 2 years and have not been as happy with the service. My dog was at Dogtown Brickell this past Thanksgiving week and it was a total disaster. Part of the service that we have always received is daily reports with photos of our dog every evening he is there. They are also supposed to receive 3 walks per day. This past June we boarded our dog for a week and were surprised when we didn't receive those daily reports. If you are anything like me when I travel I count on those emails to see my dog and make sure that he's doing well. It was very upsetting not to get those emails so I spoke with the manager and he assured me that it would not happen again and that they had "staffing issues" which had been resolved. During Thanksgiving week we received only one email the first day he was there and then went 3 days without any work from Dogtown. This caused me great anxiety so we tried calling there only to either get a busy signal or no answer at all. We emailed twice and never received a response. We left a message at the Grove location and never received a return call. Finally on the 4th day we spoke to a manager who told us that they were still having "staffing issues" and that they had over 30 dogs boarding that week. There was no apology given but we did receive photos that night. By this time I was so upset that we almost cut out trip short and would have missed our family event but seeing the photos I could tell that my dog was fine and decided not to come home early. As you can imagine we were very anxious to pick him up so I called to find out what time he would be ready. Once again they did not answer their phone and eventually answered 45 minutes after their advertised opening time after calling several times. I was told that he wouldn't be ready till later in the day because they were short handed and were backed up on giving exit baths. I told them that I wanted to pick him up immediately without having a bath and was told that they would not release him to me until he had a bath later in the day. They told me that they had to call a manager to get permission to let him leave their facility and that I could not pick him up. Days of anxiety and frustration caused me to get very upset and I reiterated that I didn't care whether or not he had a bath I would come get him. I was hung up on which upset me even more...my husband immediately went there to pick him up without me. He was again told that he could not take our dog home. These disgusting people were literally holding our dog hostage. They also refused to let my husband see him and finally brought him to a window and showed him from afar. They would only release him if we payed the bill which would include the bath he did not receive. It became an ugly situation with one of the managers screaming at my husband over the phone to get out and leave the premises so my husband payed the bill but was denied an itemized receipt after asking several times. Luckily our dog came home healthy which is really the only thing that matters. What a terrible experience for us and our dog, what a disgraceful performance by the Dogtown staff and even more disgusting that this place remains in business. read more

Do not take your dog here for grooming. First, they did not even ask how we wanted our dog groomed, and did it their own way. They were not nurturing to my dog as he left the facility shaking and deficated himself during the grooming. They placed the blame on me for not accustoming my dog to loud noises. They shaved too much around his butt and they shaved his nose, which is not suppose to be done for the type of breed dog that I have. I will not be bringing my dog back. read more

Me and the wife thoroughly enjoyed our Dogtown experience. Our dog was groomed by Sherry who was able to replicate what we wanted exactly to a T. The manager, Alex, is cordial, friendly, and charismatic and was able to get us booked despite us walking in having booked at a hotel nearby. DO NOT Under Any Circumstance Trust These People with your Dog. It was the biggest mistake I ever made, and it cost me my best friend in the world. Dogtown lied to us before we took our dog there, while she was there, and continues to lie in their responses to reviews on this page. They were delinquent in their duties which in an overnight stay, is most importantly to care for our dogs. I went out of town for Thanksgiving and trusted this with my dog. She was old, and sick, but only required a few things. To be properly walked and fed, and above all else, to get her medication. She was easy going and was not much work. Dogtown lied to us ahead of time about what times someone would be there caring for the dogs. They neglected to tell us that because Thanksgiving was a holiday that they would be leaving early. I NEVER would have agreed to leave my dog with them because she was a on a strict 12 hour medication regiment and they left at 6pm and returned at 8am. Even if they gave Lulu her meds the second they arrived and right before they left (which they did not) that was too big a window for her to go without her meds. Those were the lies prior to her stay. During her stay, they assured me that although she wasn't eating, she was indeed taking her medication. I later found out this was a complete lie. Lulu had to be hospitalized shortly after our return and then died shortly after that. The vet explained she had not gotten her medication for almost a week and that is what caused the rapid decline in her heart condition. Lulu doesn't take her pills if its not in food. So how exactly are they assuring me she got her meds even though she refused to eat the entire time? After her stay my wife left a review you'll find here under "Maday B". Their responses to her review are flat out lies. They did NOT stay until 8pm as they claim, the person we spoke to on the phone numerous times made it clear that they normally stay until 8pm but that since Thanksgiving was a holiday they were planning to leave at 5pm but would stay until 6pm as a favor to us....gee thanks. They also lied about their interactions with my wife in regards to trying to "dictate" terms on grooming. Not that this is really important in the big picture, but just another one of their lies. I believe the employee who was working during Lulu's stay did probably try her best, and while I appreciate that, she did leave too early, they lied about the hours they would be there, and ultimately failed to provide basic care and make sure my dog took her meds, and then lied about that. I blame myself for trusting them with my dog. But hope that my review educates others so they know to stay away from this dumpster fire. They can respond and try to twist the situation, or call my words lies. But everything I said here is true, and anyone reviewing the overall reviews can easily see that this is not an isolated incident. There is clearly a pattern at Dog Town. You can see it for yourself in the reviews. If you love your dog, take them somewhere else....ANYWHERE else. read more

I am so disappointed with dogtown brickell. I recently adopted a 9mo rescue puppy who has already had a tough life. Kimchi is about 50 lbs and has an extremely sweet and friendly personality. But she is rambunctious, loves to play, and hasn't quite learned manners yet. We go to the dog park almost daily and she has never had any issues, always playing with new dogs big and small. I was excited to take her for her doggie daycare trial so she could enjoy playing and we could have peace of mind while we were at work. Firstly, this place is all but impossible to find. Google maps does not have it in the correct location and I walked around brickell while calling for about 40 mins until someone finally answered and gave me vague directions. After walking through a labyrinth of hotel drives I found it. About 4 hours after I dropped her off I received a call to inform me that she was not a good fit for dogtown. When I picked her up I discussed further with the young girl who was in charge at the time. I was basically told that kimchi could not return because she does not respond to her name, doesn't listen when told 'no,' and was playing too 'invasively' with the other dogs. So basically, typical puppy behavior. Even the employee noted that kimchi is not aggressive, and a good dog. When pressed further, she said 'its for kimchi's safety,' because she saw other dogs respond to her aggressively. This is concerning bc it gives the impression that the other dogs are prioritized despite poor behavior on their part. When we were waiting for her to be brought out, we witnessed several dogs being 'invasive' and poorly behaved. My husband and I are extremely disheartened that this company is not only unsupportive of rescued dogs, but even more so if your dog is not perfectly mannered it will be deemed a 'poor fit.' Also the fact that my dog is not allowed 'for her own safety' bc other dogs respond to invasive puppy playfulness with aggression is completely dangerous and concerning. When we picked her up, she was taken out of a closet in the back of the facility. She is completely not herself and appears depressed after picking her up. She is not her happy, wagging, kissing self. I am hoping she is just stressed from being torturously locked away in God knows what closet all day. I would definitely caution you from bringing any beloved pet to this exclusive elitist dog club that does not have your pups best interest at heart. read more

Trusted them with my dog to stay over during thanksgiving week. What a terrible mistake... They decided (without notice) to close doors at 6:30 pm during the holiday and reopen 14 hours later. Leaving my dog suffering, without her heart medication (that's to be taken every 12 hours) the next day I received a call from dogtown complaining that she had pooped in her bed.... this was a first! and clear evidence that she was not being cared for... I requested for the owner to call me countless times to no avail.... the agreement was for 3 walks; morning, afternoon, and evening. Note that (without notice) they considered reasonable for their last walk of the day to be at 6:30 pm!! What?!?! I was told that the last walk would be at 8pm or later... they lied and then "tried" to make a 7pm exception for Black Friday and the weekend as her last walk... so cruel and disappointing besides stressful to find out while on vacation... In addition, as I was pulling in the building to pickup my dog on Monday, and I saw one of their staff walking dogs and talking on the phone. The dogs were not under control and it looked extremely unprofessional. In conclusion, the owner of dogtown never called as requested for an explanation as to why they decided to close doors early without notice and why there was no staff available to administer her very strict heart medication... So cruel and unprofessional.... left to say that my dog was picked up sick. Stay away from this place!! In response to Anai and Kris Fonte's 12/10/19 comment: Lulu has been to dogtown Brickell only once for boarding. She did come in with her sister for trial and grooming prior to that since I was considering your location for her long weekend stay during thanksgiving week. Besides that, she had another stay earlier this year at your coral gables location (not Brickell) so you are confusing things on here... let's stay focused on my experience mentioned above.. In addition, inquiring about "exit bath" (which are offered for $20 on your website) regularly was prior to my terrible experience... this is a new BUSINESS and it would of been convenient for in between grooming visits. There's no need to lie to make yourself feel better regarding comments from your groomer..... They have never been banned from any local groomers. When we returned, they called and said they had to shave her because she was so matted. We had left instructions that she needed to be brushed daily. They said that was not included in the boarding services!!!! Had they informed us of this, we would have gladly paid! Shaved our doggie In addition, half of her food was left. They said she wasn't hungry! And they lost her leash and harness at pick up and gave me a wet dog bed to take home. They refused to acknowledge their negligence!!! When the Brickell location opened it was great. Not sure what has happened since then. The place seems to be understaffed and they seem to have more of a part time kind of crowd (although seemingly well intentioned) versus pet care professionals working at the location. My dog stayed a few days and some of the directions I left were not followed, I was also supposed to get daily pictures and videos but i only got them at the beginning and end of the stay. My dog ended up even getting kennel cough so on top of paying 250+ dollars for a 4 night stay I have vet bills and a sick dog. Until the quality goes back to what it used to be ill be looking for another options and you should too. read more

100% DO NOT TRUST THE BRICKELL LOCATION. I have now an 8 month old adorable playful rescue named Waldo who had been here a couple times before for daycare. (Note: every time I picked him up was not his usual self and I assumed he was tired, now I know they are untrustworthy negligent people and my mind only wonders what happened other times he was there) This past Wednesday 5/12/21 I had dropped Waldo off for daycare in the morning around 8:30 AM, when I went in to pick him up around 6PM Waldo was NOT his usual hyper playful happy puppy self AT ALL, including LIMPING on TWO of his legs, a CUT in between his paw, and a CUT on his head that had CLEARLY been cleaned up!!!!! It is now Sunday evening that Im writing this review after giving him a couple of days and Waldo is STILL limping and will be going to the vet in the morning now. When I called immediately the next morning Thursday 5/13/21 (they close at 7pm) as Waldo could BARELY walk, the lady who answered the brickell locations phone told me Nothing happened to Waldo and he's just really playful and probably played too much...(???? absolutely not the case as he had cuts, and the one on his head had CLEARLY been cleaned, he plays at the park every other day for hours and never ever has limped like this or gotten cuts like this), when then speaking to the manager Alex of the coconut grove location I was told he couldnt get the full story of what happened to Waldo and I was offered Five free daycare passes. Why the hell would I bring my dog back here after your team was literally negligent and dishonest with what happened to my dog. I still have yet to get the full story as Alex the manager told me there is supposed to be a caretaker in with the dogs at all times which has never been the case in any time I have taken Waldo NEVER was an employee in with the animals, Waldo always leaves REEKING of pee and needs a bath afterwards also which 100% is due to the staffs negligence of letting your dogs play in the own feces because they are too busy sitting on their phones at the front desk. They say you can not tour the facility but I was also allowed to when I had first taken Waldo here. When I asked for security footage to figure out the EXACT story of what happened I am now being told they DONT have security footage! 100% read through all the reviews and DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR FUR BABIES!!!! He always has such a good time at daycare, he instantly passes out the minute we get home. The facility is super nice, I like how it's so clean and open, and the fact that he gets walks during the day. The employees really are special. I used to live in the brickell area and was hoping this groomer was going to be the one, after we tried a few mobile groomers that actually weren't bad and did a better job than this. I came here in August of 2021, and when I dropped Jack off the groomer, a woman, felt his hair and said he was matted which I know wasn't true because I brush this boy out EVERY NIGHT! Not only was she wrong; but she was incredibly rude and speaking to me as if I were stupid. She wasn't experienced with his hair type, clearly, because the groomer I go to now specializes in doodles and told me jack just has extra thick hair with an undercoat. The woman shaved my baby bald damn near with a messed up Afro! On top of that she had terrible customer service. The front desk folk were much more respectable and gave me the owner or managers number to give a call when I asked. He gave me I believe a discount of some sort. Haircut really sucked though. The worst one he's had, and it wasn't even needed to cut that short. read more
