My…read morefamily was taking a 2 week long vacation over Christmas and New Year's and we needed to find accommodations for my girl Blue, a rescue 4 year old lab with allergies. She's stayed at Sweet Doggies, which is fine, but for 2 weeks, I wanted to find a place that was more like a home and not a boarding establishment. Honestly, I'm not even sure how MDAB showed up on my feed because they are about an hour away from us, but I am so glad it did. We did a meet and greet and right off the bat, you could tell that they love what they do, and that they love the dogs and all animals. The first couple nights, Blue was a bit anxious but Sandra and Joel made her feel comfortable. Also we are able to manage her skin allergies at home, but they flared up while boarding, and they took care of her. I loved being able to watch videos on Instagram. Sandra is also a retired vet tech so you know you the dogs are in good hands. I only wish we weren't so far from each other so we could use them more often!

Our pups get to spend their days in the sunshine fully supervised and their evenings sleeping in comfy dog beds, big comfy chairs or on sofas that are just for the dogs. They are completely pampered here and so well taken care of. Major Bonus- Sandra have over 30 years of veterinary care experience, so you can have peace of mind that your pup will be taken care of if an illness or injury pops up. She was extremely responsive, communicative, and took the time to explain help me learn about my Aussie. Mary did an incredible job gently cleaning my girl's overgrown undercoat out without rushing the process. You can tell she truly cares about the comfort and wellbeing of the animals she works with. She also took extra precautions with my Aussie's sensitive hips, which meant a lot to me. She looks healthier, happier, and so much more comfortable. Her coat is soft and beautiful --plus she smells amazing. Highly recommend Mary if you're looking for someone experienced, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring with your pets.

We've always been 100% happy with Terry (and so have our pets). Terry goes above and beyond and we never have to worry about what's happening at home while we are away. In the beginning our crew consisted of a geriatric dog and cat. Our dog was quite sick and near the end of her life when Terry began caring for them. She was exceptionally attentive to the special needs of our dog, good at making health assessments and overall someone I could count on. We now have a new crew...two kitties. They are both young and healthy although the youngest does have pica. My cat's particular version of pica is that she will eat any filmy plastic, like plastic shopping bags, newspaper sleeves, cellophane, etc. We have to be constantly vigilant to ensure she doesn't have access to any of the "contraband". Terry understands the issue and always ensures that my cat doesn't have the opportunity to ingest any harmful substances. Terry had a special way with animals and they love her. We just returned home from a nine day vacation. My kitties had enjoyed so much attention from Terry that they were both very ho hum at our return...kind of like "oh, you're back." Typically my "pussy posse" as my husband calls them would have followed me all around the house but they didn't. This told me they had been given tons of attention while I was away. When Terry stays overnight for us, she brings in the mail and any packages, waters plants, takes out the trash, and keeps a watchful eye on whats going on in the neighborhood. She also leaves my home tidy and just the way I left it which is much appreciated. At my request Terri regularly texted us updates and pictures during our time away which eased any fleeting concern I might have. I highly recommend Terry as a pet sitter.

We then went through a thorough in-person interview. Emma is kind, caring, and compassionate and brought the company's mascot, the adorably trained Wilfred. Wilfred looks like a plushie dog that has come to life and candidly demonstrates how a trained dog should act. Our dogs immediately took a liking to Emma and Wilfred and thankfully Emma took our dogs in spite of their rambunctious behavior when meeting Wilfred. Emma was prompt with communication and followed the meeting with forms to complete via email, and took attentive care to our questions. We left our fur babies in her care for 2 weeks. We got cute pictures regularly, and our dogs looked engaged, safe, clean, entertained, and happy. Upon our return home, everything came back cleaner than we sent it. This was both embarrassing (why didn't I clean that when I dropped it off?) and a surprise and delightful touch when you're tired from traveling. Please know that our senior dogs aren't easy: one has a bad heart and requires twice daily medication, and the other eats everything not nailed down. I know my dogs and I could tell that they had fun and candidly missed all the attention they got at Wilf's Place. They even got a bath and are better at sitting and obeying our commands than when we dropped them off. We have already booked Emma again for our next trip. If you care about your pets, care about sanitation, cleanliness, details, and your pet's happiness while you're on vacation, Emma is a great find.

We receive weekly written plans, which build upon previous weeks' lessons on forming good, dog- citizenship habits for our three-year-old Havanese. If we have questions, we can review our previous lesson plans or reach out to Emma via text. Emma saw our dog would benefit if he trained for a specific purpose. We are now focused on qualifying to pass the therapy dog test. Without Emma's weekly input we never would have understood how far our pup could expand his world. Before her first stay, they gave us a tour of the property and had Lucy complete a daycare trial, which gave me so much confidence. One of my favorite moments has been running into some of the staff on our walks. Lucy gets so excited and runs right up to them, which says everything about how well she's cared for there. I've also referred family friends, and they've all had great experiences. Desjardins is a place I trust completely, and I know Lucy is always happy and well cared for.

I did weekly lessons and learned a lot about the horse and riding. I learned how to ride all kinds of horses from green (not fully trained) horses to the competition horses. It was one of the reasons why I became so into horseback riding. I loved Dennis's deep knowledge on horses and how he worked and partnered with the amazing horses he has in the stable. I also learned to work with cows and learned to do advanced techniques over the years. Dennis teaches you that patience helps you a lot around horses. He teaches you to be safe on the ground and in the saddle. Yes, it takes years to learn to horseback ride. It is the same for all sports and even learning instruments. You gotta understand that things take time. I describe horseback riding is like a tree. You learn the basics or the standard skill. Each basic technique you learn branches off to more advanced skills. Also, repetitions are key! Anyway, I recommend Dennis Bright as a caring and acknowledgeable horseback riding mentor. My daughter entered into the horse world via typical horseback lesson experience. She received excellent instruction in rider form at a top riding school but she became bored with just jumping on a horse for the purpose of getting through the transitions and jumps while looking good. She craved a deeper bond with her equine partners. So, being a brand new horse person myself, and only to support my daughter from afar, I found Stephanie in a Google search. I figured some horseback lessons that simulated actual horse ownership would cure the bug. I also decided that since this experience would be more than just tacking up the horse and riding, I decided to take lessons too so I could supervise my daughter from the ground. When my daughter first started riding, I wouldn't even pet the horses, and I was the least likely candidate to be a horse owner, that's how resistant I was to this whole horse fever she caught. I thought for sure these true "horsemanship" lessons would end this nonsense. Well, Stephanie didn't cure the horse bug. She made it worse, it was contagious, and I caught it. She stirred a new passion in my daughter and I that opened up a whole new world where horses are now more than a hobby, we have a new lifestyle. Fast forward to today, we are the humble owners of a beautiful, dramatic, and sensitive thoroughbred gelding and Stephanie is our trainer. Forget thinking that this is your typical trainer situation where the expert does the hard work of training your horse and you come out only to ride and experience the fruit of that labor. Stephanie is teaching US how to train our horse. Her lessons involve us in every part of the equine from the how the horse thinks to how the horse moves - on good days and bad days. Some of our best lessons, even when we first started, have been in (and continue to be in) imperfect conditions where we were making mistakes and Stephanie patiently taught us what was going on with the horse mentally, how we created the situation, and how to correct it. She will not do it for you, and she will make you take it slow to do things right. You can do things fast, or you can do them right. Thankfully, she has the patience and calm demeanor of a saint with kids and nervous, newbie, somewhat resistant, older adults. Stephanie just has something special to offer people that is vitally lacking in our fast paced, over tech'd, and over-achieving culture. The character qualities that are being instilled in my daughter (and myself) through this journey is not something the fanciest training barn or most expensive private school could ever teach. It is hard work that teaches you how to slow down, be present, and be teachable. Though the word has lost its meaning, Stephanie is a true natural horseman and she will teach you how to understand and communicate with the horse from the moment you make contact. We took our 4 month rottweiler puppy for daycare recently. As owners of rotties we know the importance of socializing them with as many dogs as possible once their shots are all done. We come from the bay area and have been to at least 6 different daycare facilities. I can honestly say that Dogwood Ranch is better than any facility in the city. The staff was friendly and highly knowledgeable. The place was incredibly clean. I got to watch them integrate my puppy into the pack. Every dog I saw was well mannered and respectful of my puppy. My puppy was obviously scared as this was his first time meeting other dogs outside of the dogs in our home. The staff never "pushed" him into the group....instead they waited patiently for my pup to gain his confidence to join the group. I was/am very impressed with the staff. My puppy passed his evaluation and we will be attending daycare at least 2 times a week to help him learn how to meet new dogs, gain his self confidence and learn how to be a fun loving dog with all dogs. I've never boarded my animals (I've always down in home house sitting) I feel that if I ever needed to board my dogs that Dogwood Ranch would be an awesome place for it. I got to walk around the facility and all the dogs I encountered looked very happy. The dogs are allowed to play outside in large grass pens......the way it should be. Dogwood Ranch is an incredibly awesome place for dogs to go......whether you need to run errands for a few hours or need a safe , fun place for your fur baby while you are at work. I can't say enough good things about Dogwood Ranch. I have been taking Sadie there for about a year and we are always greeted by friendly, professional staff. I found myself needing overnight boarding several times a month when having to travel out of town to care for my elderly parents. A friend recommended I try Dogwood as she had been taking her pet there for years and was very pleased. I was worried at first since she was a puppy and was used to sleeping in bed with me (she's my fur baby and a bit spoiled :-) ). They assured me she would be well taken care of and offered deluxe boarding where she would stay in the house on site at a very reasonable rate. While Sadie is there they send me pictures, respond to my texts when checking in on her and have happily accommodated my schedule changes when emergency arise. They always respond quickly when contacted. They offer grooming, extra cuddle time, and many other services. The environment is inviting and welcoming for dogs, with lots of open space to run and play or bask in the sunshine. There is always enough staff around to tend to all the animals needs. I scheduled a tour before our first visit and saw how organized and well run the facility was. Sadie and I are so thankful we found Dogwood Ranch. Sadie looks forward to her stays and it gives me peace of mind knowing she is in such good hands. I would highly recommend them! read more

We found ourselves in a situation with our Mastiff who was having severe anxiety while traveling and was causing issues at our hotel. After asking around, we called Dogwood Ranch and they were extremely understanding. We dropped Abram off for a three-day boarding stay and the entire staff went above and beyond to take care of him. They sent us text, photo, and video updates to keep us informed throughout the stay. The dog trainer, Jessica, worked with Abram during his stay and took the time to practice stress management strategies with us when we picked Abram up. The results were phenomenal. Abram had a blast playing with his new friends, he was well cared for, and now we are better prepared to manage stressful encounters during travel. I can't say enough good things about Dogwood Ranch. The facility was great, with a HUGE area for the dogs to play. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The prices were extremely reasonable. Our dog looks forward to boarding at Dogwood Ranch; he becomes very (positively) excited when we approach Prunedale. He likes Beckky and Bret, who works with her and plays with our dog, and the time with othe,r similarly sized, dogs, all of whom seem to get along very well. As a water loving Airedale, he particularly enjoys the wading pools, and, of course, the very large grassy area inside the fence. Our impression is of very good care of the dogs and attention to their needs, adjusting as our dog ages. I find policies reasonable, and, on occasion, understanding, when we have been caught in the difficult Highway 101 traffic. Prices also seem reasonable, and nothing can be more important than the peace of mind coming from the security of knowing that excellent care is being given to our companion. Occasional email bulletins during the stay are reassuring, also. read more

I have checked out quite a few places as I am particular where I bring my dog. Dogwood Ranch was beautiful! I was extremely pleased with the experience from start to finish. I got a tour, everything was really clean. I dropped my dog off for boarding, the employees were extremely responsive when I reached out to them asking how my dog was doing during his stay. I got an adorable video of him playing with other dogs. It is so nice knowing that they get to play during the day and they aren't kept in kennels during the day. After I picked him up, he was content and tired when I brought him home. He slept for the day. So nice to have a tuckered out dog. This place is a must-see! read more

This place is such a golden find. The property is beautiful, with a big field for your pup to run and play, professional and friendly staff, and happy puppy dogs everywhere. Upon our first visit, we were so impressed. Everything exceeded our expectations. We have boarded our dog several times, and the staff is attentive to all her needs and care. I used to drive my dog all the way to Monterey for Boarding. I had no clue this amazing doggie day care was 5 minutes away from my house until my neighbor gave me the recommendation. Amazing huge outdoor facility with the dogs able to run free and get their energy out and not stuck in kennels and cages all day long. We have boarded our dogs here many times and they come home happy and exhausted and the staff is friendly and attentive. So glad we found this place! I took my new dog, a 2-year old, very energetic German Shepherd, for training with Jessica at Dogwood. We spent an hour and really went a long way toward resolving our main issue (pulling on the leash and reactivity to other dogs). Jessica was patient, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. LOVE, LOVE this place. Everything was super clean, my dogs were happy and they had a huge area to play. It's doggie heaven there! The staff pairs the dogs with a group that is most similar to their temperament. I have two older shepherds and they were so excited when we arrived they raced ahead of me the whole way to the lobby. Our puggles, (Cleo now and Sophie before) have been treated so well by Becky and her helper, Bret. Dogwood has always been there when we needed to board one of our four-legged friends. The large dog park gives a lot of room for exercise and entertainment. Cleo does have some issues with other dogs, but continues to have a safe space for her and the other boarders. Our dogs always come home in need of a couple of days of sleep and are always excited as we approach Dogwood Ranch. read more

Our dog Luna loves to vacation out at the Ranch! More than often we will have a wedding or family function out of town that isn't dog friendly... but we don't sweat it because Luna will get all the care and exercise she needs. The staff is super nice and has gone above and beyond with their customer service. We also had our daughter in the last year and they were very flexible with Luna's pick up date because we stayed at the hospital a few extra nights. 5 paws up!! read more

Daisy loves this place! She's a shelter rescue and at home she is very protective and territorial - she does not like other animals (cats; squirrels; definitely not other dogs) anywhere near her home. But at Dogwood, however, she loves being around other dogs (especially huskies) out in the fresh air in the big open yards. The staff is great and always treats Daisy like one of their own (and she knows it). Dogwood truly is a resort for dogs. read more

I was in a pinch and I needed somewhere to board my 2 dogs. Dogwood let me tour their facility before dropping off. I felt extremely comfortable. Dogwood sent me a video during their stay and updates whenever I asked. I got my dogs back from camp happy and TIRED. It is such a peace of mind knowing I have somewhere to take my dogs, where I am not worried about them my whole trip. This staff is awesome! read more

We have been very pleased with Dogwood Ranch Pet Resort. We have brought our Australian Shepherd puppy for a few overnight stays and she has thoroughly enjoyed herself. We appreciate the fact that Dogwood Ranch sends pictures and videos of our dog playing outside, and the staff is very responsive via text message and on the phone. Dogwood ranch is under NEW ownership and we absolutely love what they have done to the facility! If you want your dog to be in a safe environment with staff who love and care for your loved one, this is the place to go. The staff members sent updates and pictures/videos throughout my dog's stay there. It was such a wonderful peace of mind knowing my dog was well taken care of while I was away. read more

My dogs love Dogwood! We've even had them stay for almost a month and they were happy and healthy. Everyone there is really nice to work with. I had a last minute vacation to book and got a call back regarding their stay around 8 pm the evening before so I could drop off the next day. I really appreciated that! I'm thankful for Dogwood. I brought my adopted 2 y/o Alaskan husky to train her to be less reactive towards other dogs. We used a pinch collar and used other dogs at the resort to test her patience. I was in shock at how quick she was so respond to the pinch collar. For the first time since I've adopted her, she's been able to walk and be in the same space as other random dogs which she normally would lunge at. read more

I Love Dogwood Ranch! I felt like my dogs were at summer camp, having fun while we were gone! I felt so at peace knowing my dogs were being well taken care of by such a caring staff. The owner and staff at Snipville are competent, professional, friendly and take great care of my dogs. They even notify me when they notice something amiss with one of them. In particular, the owner recommended a particular remedy for my Frenchie's itchy skin, which worked quickly and effectively. The most important review, however, is from my dogs, who are always super excited as we arrive in the vicinity of Snipville, showing how much they love staying there. It's not cheap, but I love being able to leave them somewhere that I know they will be safe and have fun.

Casa de Amigos is located on the corner of 2 one-way streets, between Monterey and Pacific Grove aprox 0.5 if that from the actuation. Highly recommend putting the location in on waze to help with directions. Additionally if you pet is in need of a vaccine renewal that has not passed her, next door is an animal hospital that works with Cascade Amigos for vaccinations of the pets that stay with them. Only knock is that the reception area is small, thus one pet at a time, but that means there is more room for our pets to play in the back.

Will definitely use them next time we travel with our dogs to Monterey.

They told me that he got out and they weren't responsible for him being lost. They are rude and admitted to not feeding their pets. My one dog was dehydrated and starving when I picked him up and the conditions are disgusting in the kennels. Animal control and the salinas shelter mentioned they have lost dogs before, the owners claimed at first that this has never happened and then changed their story and said they've lost dogs and they always come back. They lie and change their story, also are very harassing.

It started very well in the beginning early last year. But, today I picked up my dog and she was shaved again! They had her in there for 3hours! Just to shave all her fur! :( I asked for a trim half an inch on the body (I don't want her shaved, keep her fluffy) shave the tummy, clean private parts, teeth cleaning and bath. I had her groomed to be ready for a photo and now she's shaven. I'm so upset! This is the second time they did this to us. And, I can't be understanding anymore. Last time was last November 2025. So she's, ready for the holiday festivities and photos. But, she was shaved! I had to have her wear sweaters all winter because she was getting cold and looked malnourished. And, they offer a free grooming for next time! Why in the world would I bring my dog to them again. No consistency! Both times it was the same person at the drop off. I have nothing good to say to this place anymore.

She did well and I picked her up a few hours later with her smelling great with a nice trim as well. She looked amazing. I am really happy with the staff at Cali Petz. Everyone is very kind and willing to talk about any concerns I had throughout the process. I will definitely be going back for dog grooming.
