Vegan bowl - gluten free when asked to prepare it that way. It was good.
    Ines P.

I recommend Dohertys for a nice meal if you are not gluten free or celiac. After back and forth discussions with the servers and the kitchen, I was able to eat one thing on the menu despite the menu having "gluten friendly" options. I got a vegan bowl with a sauce that contains zero gluten but with no guarantees. I don't feel sick after so it was all good. The rest of the family enjoyed their fish and chips, sandwiches. Great service.

Five of us came to watch a World Cup game at 6. We were lucky enough get 5 seats together at the bar (no tables with a view of a tv were available, they were either occupied or reserved). We got a variety of appetizers and a few drinks. Our favorite apps were: Dublin Spice Bag and Spinach Artichoke Dip. We tried the Boxty Sampler and liked the Killarney and Donegal best (the Mullingar was sort of just brisket in the potato pancake). We also got the Loaded Veggie Chips (seasonal item) but they were lacking in flavor a bit and could've benefited from more salt, if nothing else, but they did look really nice with the glaze over the top.

I found a seat at the bar and knew what I wanted - Irish stew. The service was friendly and the food came out fast. It was great for a cold winters night.

We came here late on a week night and only the bar side was open. The young lady serving us was polite and pleasant. We ordered fish and chips but were only able to get the bar portion. They had put away the green beans so the only choice for sides were French fries or sweet potato fries. We were there about an hour before closing time, so don't know why the limited availability. I was very disappointed. The fish was great as always and came out quickly. The noise level was loud even though there were very few people. Lesson learned, don't go after 9:00 at night.

Great Irish music on Wednesdays! You can request what you want to hear. For our appetizer we ordered the Brussel sprouts they were really tasty. Main course was good- fish fry (pieces were on the small side) they were lightly breaded, green beans were great I ordered mine with onion rings (up charge $3) I also ordered the hibiscus tea-it was really flavorful could have used to be warmer. Service was very good. I recommend you get reservations.

Prime rib with baked potato served mid rare and have leftovers

Feb 2026 I was craving a burger and didn't have any ideas where to go....then thought this local pub might be good and hopefully not too busy between parking and awaiting food as I was famished! I was greeted, then seated. I was provided a menu and specials...Prime Rib! After my hectic day, yes I will have that! I mentioned gluten free to my server before making decision. Plus seeing the loaded potato had me a bit worried as I cannot ear pork. I opted for salad once server checked to see if Caesar salad dressing is gf sans croutons. I requested salad with dressing on the side and to bring promptly before my dinner. Salad arrived by and server dressed and it was glistening.... I requested one with dressing on the side...server brought maybe I had two bites and dinner arrived! Salad can wait...prime rib cannot, even though I start with tasting potato. Prime rib was requested mid rare and it delivered. Potato was fine. I did not see the au jus nor horseradish sauce on the side. I did ask server while I was ready to pack it up and he said there was some confusion if there was/was not no gluten so not provided. Noteworthy as the salad a manager stopped by about the dressing and mentioned one type of salad dressing is now gf and one vegan. Good to have options. Disappointed to learn the fries are coated with flour then fried as an option with burger skip the bun...what about baked chips or air fry for those with food sensitivities as an alternative? Just a thought for management to consider please. I saved room for dessert and the mousse did not disappoint and was compted .... thank you! Fantastic! As I looked around there was a steady crowd entering along with regular patrons. Overall 4.5 stars for this visit. On a side note, this is a family friendly restauran/pub. Some servers look disheveled between sloppy hair and untidy uniform. For staff with long hair should be pulled back tight and away from food will prevent hair on the food! Uniform is simple black top and pants....should be clean and neat. A few servers looked like they rolled out of bed...if they are feeling ill, please stay home. Servers should make diners and patrons have a positive and pleasant experience and my server was definitely on point with emphasis on customer service and satisfaction....keep it up! Lastly, females please wear a bra or sports bra or a proper garment under uniform as it is family friendly restaurant, thank you!

Absolutely love coming here when I'm in town. It's a must just for their fish and chips!! The fish is super flaky with a delicious crispy batter that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Service is always prompt and our server tonight was very attentive to our large party. Despite being pretty busy for dinner, we were able to hear ourselves fine. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed, with great sour beers! The flavors do rotate, so don't be committed to the drink before it leaves their rotation, but I've yet to have a sour here I did not enjoy

Guinness always hits the spot. Smooth, creamy, and full of that old‑school charm people swear has "restorative" powers. It's the kind of pint that feels like a small remedy after a long day -- comforting, steady, and always reliable.

    Easter Sunday Brunch Buffet

Our family of 4 came to Doherty's for their Easter Brunch Buffet. I'm thankful we were able to get a reservation because this experience was 10 out of 10! The food is 100% quality ingredients, the buffet stayed fully stocked, and the variety was perfect. All of the staff were friendly and attentive. The thick slices of prime rib, seasoned shrimp, custom omelettes, freshest of fruit, and plethora of desserts were absolutely delicious! Would absolutely go here regularly if we lived closer. Highly recommend!!!

    Special monthly NFL city salutes.
    Chris K.

We came here today especially so I could get the pierogi plate with smoked Polish sausage and red cabbage. It's one of 3 offering for this month's NFL city salute's that they do each year. If you'd like a rare find in the Triangle of a Polish platter, get over to this location or the one in Apex. It was delightful as was our server. I forgot to ask if they offer it everyday this month or just on football Sunday. The other two city salute offerings this month sounded good too, if either would be your preference.

$17 cheese steak (one half shown; I swallowed the other half in 2 bites).
    Steve D.

Does this look like a $17 cheese steak sandwich? This is one half but they both were the same (tiny) This on top of a $9 Guinness and an under filled coleslaw and it is less likely I will joyfully return. Why do neighborhood pubs need to treat customers this way? Service here is always on point on the positive side.

In town visiting family and has a night out so the Pub it was! We tried to make the servers first night fun and had some laughs. She did great! We all enjoyed our dishes and drinks. You have to be happy in an Irish Pub!!

    Boxty Sampler
    Rachel S.

Traveling through Cary, we were hungry and looking for a place that was open late. Using our trusty Yelp app, we discovered this pub! We arrived around 9 pm on New Year's Eve eve (haha) and were a little concerned at first because we didn't see a host or a waiter for several minutes. Our fears were immediately quelled as a really fun and upbeat waitress appeared, got us seated and took our drink orders. All uphill from there! We (a group of 4) ordered the brisket Poutine and the Boxty sampler. BOTH excellent choices! The brisket was sooo tender. A little on the sweet side, but paired with the flavorful gravy, it was a great app. The Boxties were delicious! Basically Irish tacos. I really liked all 3 of them but I think the flavor of the Donegal stood out the most. You can't go wrong with any of them. It's a pretty laid-back looking bar in a nice shopping center. You kind of forget you are in Cary, NC, when you walk in there. It's lively, clean, and has a decent amount of seating for a pub.

Absolutely! Shepherd’s Pie, Cider Glazed Salmon, Buffalo Wings and more! The nachos referred to however are not gluten free, the brisket is braised in Guinness.
