This is a quaint little Sports Bar that has a pretty large menu. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich and a cup of their Chili. The Chili was very good except the Sour Cream dollop was too large and took up a quarter of the cup. The sandwich was large and good with the North Carolina vinegar taste. Took the other half home. Toni was our server and she was wonderful and prompt. I had an IPA to drink and it was nice. Keep in mind, this is a Sports Bar and had a variety of games on big screen TV's. read more

Won't be back. Food was mid and the bartender told me no more samples after I had only asked to sample one draft beer then felt obligated to get what I sampled even though I didn't like it. Disappointing service. read more

We enjoyed our late lunch at North Ridge Pub after a concert at a nearby church. I enjoyed the lentil soup and the grilled salmon. The service was very good, too, and it was pretty quiet that time of day, which was relaxing. We hope to go again sometime. read more

We were seated at around 230 today. It took well over 10 minutes for anyone to come by - and there was only 1 other table in the restaurant. Binh finally comes over, takes drink order, etc. She brings our drinks (explain how a house vodka and cranberry juice is $13? but I digress). Second sip of drink puts a hair in my mouth. Um, yeah, not mine. I call someone over, explain the issue, she walks away and brings a different drink. We then order and my friend asked about the shrimp wrap - if it has lettuce - and Binh actually says "read the menu - it says it there" and hands the menu back. Um, BINH has been at NRP for many many years. Wow. She is incredibly rude and just not a good server/bartender. RUDE. She slapped the checks down and charged me for the hair drink. Wow, I said something about the drink being $13 - was that for the hair? She didn't do anything. NRP used to be one of my go-to places. Not any more - her attitude was terrible and no one uttered an apology for my hairy THIRTEEN dollar drink. It's not like I drank the entire thing and then complained. Two sips. Wow, TERRIBLE SERVICE. Never again. Shame on you. read more

We have been to this pub in the Harris Teeter North Ridge Shopping Center a couple times recently and really enjoyed it. The menu has a nice variety. I love the healthy option of the catch of the day, and they always have salmon. Love that the mashed taters aren't overly loaded with butter, and still have skins, and that the veggies are steamed. Sauce is served on the side. Blackened is an option which I think is terrific! Meanwhile Husband enjoyed his shrimp wrap with fries, and in the past really like the country fried steak, mac n cheese and mashed taters. They have a full bar and friendly service. Place is not big, but there are tables, a bar and outside seating as well. Prices reasonable. read more

This site is tucked away in a shopping center but don't let that fool you. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service was great. The menu has a lot of variety. I got the Big Boy grilled cheese and chili and my friend got the meatloaf platter. Hearty portions and very tasty. read more

Met a friend for dinner tonight. First time I've been here. I started with the Thrilla in Vanilla porter from Smithfield NC, which I thought was fantastic. I got the chicken goat entree - a blackened chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese that had some lemon twang. It came with broccoli and brown rice. It was excellent. My companions got the French dip and the tuna melt. Both enjoyed those. Service was excellent. The only complaint is the parking: it's a strip mall but it always seems super packed, so be prepared to search for parking a bit. read more

After a long nature walk at Durant Park, we decided to grab a burger. Found this local gem and decided to get lunch. So glad that we did! Our server, Kim, was terrific. She was very attentive and very friendly. Restaurant is actually pretty small but very cozy and the atmosphere is very casual. We started with spinach and artichoke dip, very cheesy and very good. The pita bread that came with it was very good - sprinkled with cheese. We both chose burgers - teriyaki Asian for me and pimento bacon burger for my daughter. Both cooked perfectly, teriyaki sauce very good. Only complaint was my daughter said the bacon on her burger tasted like precooked microwave bacon... Side salad was fresh, homemade ranch dressing tasted a little spicy? Garlic aioli that came with my burger was good. Overall, a good lunch, great service and $34 (before tip) for a sit down meal. We'd definitely visit again but would skip the pimento burger. read more

Great Place that I've been seeing but never stopped in till yesterday. It was a great pleasant experience as far as a Pub goes. The service was excellent. We went for brunch on Father's Day and we were extremely disappointed. The bacon was cold and entirely fat. I asked for eggs to be cooked hard and they were served to me completely wet. When we returned them they came back brown and rubbery. English muffins were cold the only part of the breakfast that was good was the grits. To pay this much for a family breakfast with a restaurant that obviously did not have a qualified chef at the helm was a complete waste of our money. read more

From the outside the North Ridge pub doesn't look like much but step inside and you'll find yourself happy in its cozy and warm little space. Small dining room in front, but the action is in back at the bar! I stopped in for a late dinner and went with some bacon-wrapped scallops (isn't everything better with bacon?) and the recommended shrimp burger. The scallops were ok, covered in teriyaki sauce but the winner was definitely the shrimp burger. Sweet, lightly fried and tender shrimp on a toasted bun with some slaw and tartar sauce, messy but yum! Service was pretty strong and professional, the crowd a bit older and locals. Now I don't live in this hood but if I did, I'd probably stop in from time to time. Is the food fantastic? No. Is the place hopping with people and interesting? No. But sometimes you just want to hit a mellow spot for some decent grub and a beer, which is exactly what North Ridge Pub will give you. And sometimes that ain't half bad at all! read more

My wife and I ate at the NR Pub last Saturday (June 8). We had the male waiter - the only one working the floor. I ordered the Club, my wife had the Rueben. We drank tea. My Club was the worst I have ever had in my life - one piece of ham, one piece of cheese, one thin fried chicken patty. There was more bread than meat. Not sure who made it, but they don't need to keep this on the menu. It seemed almost like it came out of a vending machine. At least the pickle and Cole slaw were edible. My wife's Rueben was tolerable, but nothing to write home about either. The waiter neglected us after checking on us once early into the service. It appeared he was distracted by another party. He came by the table grabbed our CC and ran it. Never asked if we needed anything else or how was our lunch. First time visit, and last time visit. read more

I've been going there for more than 10 years and was always SO impressed how consistent their food was. Sadly, that is gone based on my lunch there today. Hamburger not done and not very hot. I ate one small piece around the outside and that was it. Server did offer to have them redo it, don't bother. I absolutely hate to give low scores. That being said, we love going to NRP and are always pleased by the food. While not regulars, we go often for weekend lunches and prefer to sit in the bar area so we can watch the games, golf, etc. This is where the low score comes in. The blonde bartender is the most unwelcoming server I've encountered in a long time. No smile...at all. It felt like she wanted to be anywhere but there, dealing with customers. We had to ask the young male runner for additional drinks (he was very sweet and nice), and Bihn filled refilled our water/tea twice, as well as asked her for our bill at our request. We barely saw the bartender after she took our order. I made a living for many years as a server, so I know what I'm writing about. This is not the first time I've wanted to write this review over the years about this particular server, but our last visit pushed me over the edge. Food was good, as always. Maybe Bihn should train everyone else. She's the real deal at NRP, deserving five stars regularly. read more

It's great to find little unique places. After stepping in here for 5 minutes, its obvious this is one of those neighborhood bars where the locals come to mingle, laugh, and generally hang out. I came by because my home internet blew out and I needed a place to spend some time at night getting stuff done (yes, free wi-fi in effect). I pulled up to the bar, had a cranberry vodka and a draft and got my work in. One of the local socialites playfully offered to spill a beer on my computer so I can join in the socializing, which would have been bad for work but probably a lot more fun for me. The staff easy going and knows how to run a bar. Overall, this is an upper-scale place (not a dive bar), with your old school Raleigh folks looking to unwind after the day. North Ridge Pub is a family favorite. No, seriously...my parents and in-laws both love coming here. Why? Because there's something for everyone on the menu. My go-to menu item is the southwestern salad, though their burgers are always on point as well. Other favorites are the meatloaf (the half portion is perfectly sized) and crab cakes. I am glad NRP ended up having to move its restaurant across the parking lot (now next to Harris Teeter) because the atmosphere is much more inviting in the new space. You used to sit on top of other diners, and now the restaurant is much more spacious and more diners are able to see the TVs at the bar. Check this place out in North Raleigh for a casual dinner with family or friends. read more

Stopped in for a quick, casual birthday lunch with my husband on a Wednesday afternoon, and we were not disappointed. The food was great, fresh and presented nicely, as was the service. I consider myself to be a french fry and ranch connoisseur and both the fries and ranch at NRP get a thumbs up from me! We'll be adding NRP to our list of casual local "go-to" places. read more

This place is an incredible gem. I found it a few months ago while getting luggage repaired and asking the sales person the best place around for lunch. I have now been there three times and it is great. Today I had a cheeseburger with sauteed onions and a side salad. You would think there is very little that a restaurant can do to make a burger and salad stand out but they did. The burger had a nice, complex flavor and it was smothered with the onions (in other places, when I get sauteed onions I have to look twice just to find them). I am the last person who would be called a salad person but I almost licked the plate with this one. Again, nothing unique but fresh tomatoes and lettuce and more than enough shredded cheese. I would not say they have cutting edge gastronomy but it is one of the best lunch places around. read more

We visited the new location in the North Ridge mall near Salt & Lime Cabo Grill last night. (Cafe Tiramisu also moved to that side of the mall, and is directly adjacent to S&L.) Having never visited the old location we can't make a comparison, but apparently this is a larger space. It features a pleasant if somewhat bland decor, but as with most pubs, the drinks and food are the real attraction here. (I should note that the pub is a little schizophrenic in terms of layout: the back half of the space is basically a sports bar, and the front, more of a traditional restaurant; at least that's my take.) Mrs. C. had the fish & chips, while I tried the Philly cheese with a side of mac & cheese. Solely as a test of the bartender, I ordered my usual Grey Goose martini (extra dry, up, olives). Both our meals were really good. The fish was light and cooked perfectly, and my cheese steak was delicious. The mac & cheese was creamy and gooey; I could feel my heart slowing as I ate it, but who cares, it was worth it. The martini was terrific. The menu is available online, and in addition to typical pub-type offerings, 8 or 10 entrees are available. Our bill (diet soda, fish and chips, Philly cheese, $2 upcharge for the mac and cheese, and an $11 martini (ouch) was $38.67 without tip. Most of the pub grub (burgers and sandwiches) are very reasonably priced. There's a beer special each evening, I believe. We'll definitely be back! read more
