Nice selection of coffee beans on the side as you walk in. The coffee cake was delicious and I also got an iced chai. It was good but nothing special. The workers are usually nice, except they are slammed, they just want to keep the line moving. One time they forgot my pastry so I had to notify the person who gave me my sandwich from the kitchen. It's extremely small inside with limited seating. It can get warm inside easily. The tables often need to be cleaned of crumbs with napkins before sitting down. They do have a small food menu and I like their chicken salad sandwich. I don't really like how the straws aren't wrapped and just in a container that people just grab from. It seems very unsanitary because you don't know if people already touched the straw you grabbed. Overall it's a nice coffee shop with good pastries but I wouldn't sit down there to eat. read more

It was a very warm day and after walking around for a while, I headed there for a violet Italian soda. It was very busy in there and the staff juggled everyone as well as possible. Unfortunately, they were out of the seltzer water used to make the drink so I had to pivot. I opted for an iced coffee. I can't remember if there were size options but mine was rather small. I loved that I could pick my own coffee from the side bar and then add cream, sugar, etc. Compared to other small coffee shops I found in the area, this was a better quality for a better price. They have lots of unique teas if that's your thing. You can buy their coffee. You can get different drinks. Some sound pretty unique. This is one of my top five coffee places in the LSD beach area. read more

Despite the great location and good drinks, it is pricey and the service is less than satisfactory. The girl taking our order was hard to hear and had no personality. Even heard her call out the order wrong to the girl behind her right after I paid. Would suggest major staff changes. The staff being rude 9/10 times makes it a negative interaction but hey, just run in, order, and leave. Cozy little coffee and dessert spot. My frozen coffee was a perfect refreshing blend of coffee and sweet flavor. Often iced coffee drinks are too sweet but this was spot on. My companion tried the frozen peach drink and really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The spot was a bit cramped with coffee bean bags encroaching on the seating area, though. I asked if they had matcha and then if I could get strawberry flavor in it. The girl behind the counter said she would make me a drink I would like and it was pretty good. We visited here this morning on our little coffee hopping trip. The place smells fantastic at all hours of the day/night (we passed by a few times on various days before coming) and has a huge selection of bagged coffees and pastries. Seating is limited, only 4-5 tables and lots of big sacks of coffee beans in the way. Assume it's decor but it's a huge waste of space. Nonetheless, we sat to eat. I ordered a warm mocha latte which was pretty good. Also got some crème brûlée pie which was very tasty. Didn't have the hard shell like the typical dessert but didn't necessarily expect it to. The people at the counter didn't really smile or laugh too much. They seemed pretty grumpy which was really pathetic. Yesterday I went to a coffee shop in Cape May and everyone was so cheerful and friendly and helpful. Not really here though the older woman and the two younger girls just didn't seem happy to be there, which is off putting. The general appearance of inside the store was gross and messy. Tables were not cleaned, their coffee bags were spread over the floor leaving little room for customers. For a shop in lewes especially, I had higher hopes. The staff was nice but they also seemed stressed and under staffed with little help from management. This was a disappointing coffee shop experience. When we walked up to the counter, the cashier was rushed to take our order and not warm and friendly. If she smiled and calmly took our order that would have been a more pleasant way to start our day. I ordered the iced coffee and it was in a huge self serve jug with ice which watered it down. It tasted like coffee flavored water. My husband got an iced latte and it was better but not very strong either. I used the bathroom and there was no toilet paper or paper towels. The shop was a warm temp and there were only tables in the sun so it was super hot to sit there. There were so many bags of coffee that it seemed like they were there due to lack of storage instead of for the aesthetic. They took up so much space that they could have several more tables if they didn't have bags there. The beverage bar was unsanitary with unwrapped straws in a container for you to freely grab, and you had to go into a fridge to get the milk or cream and touch the lids yourself. There were a lot of great looking pastries there which was a good option. Overall, the staff wasn't warm and friendly, the coffee wasn't strong, and the vibe was closterphobic. Unlike many coffee places that use "roaster" in their name, they actually do so here. We walked past on a Monday when the store was closed, and you could smell the coffee out on the street. The store is full of bags and buckets. The roast master seems to be going for a darker bean - call it full city or maybe French, so if you like a lighter roast, this won't be your jam. I tried three items, a 20 oz. Caffe Latte, a pound of Ethiopian Sidamo from the shelves, and a chocolate dipped biscotto. The giant biscotto was excellent. The beverage was good, and you could taste the roast. The Sidamo was roasted darker than I prefer, the beans shiny. Sort of like Peet's back in the day or southeast France. I mixed it with some medium roast Sumatran and had a great cup. The store is going for a sort of funky, comfy, natural vibe instead of the sterile minimalism to which so many new shops aspire. Stopped by for a quick coffee break after hearing some locals recommending this spot. At first, I had high hope since the wall was covered top down with different varieties of coffee beans! There was flavored ones as well as unflavored in 1/4 lb bags. I asked the employee if there was any roast date and she had explained that they cycle through all of the products in two weeks. At this point, I was even more excited to try some! I ordered a iced latte (they only served the house blend, which was a dark roast). Total was just under $5 for a Large. It was disappointing. 6/10 It tasted like a regular dark toast with no body. My friends ordered the cappuccino, iced coffee and hot coffee. The cappuccino was over frothed and the coffee was burnt. 4/10 The iced coffee was pre made and self-served, so it was as good it can get. 5/10 The hot coffee had 6-8 options that you served yourself. It seemed cool at first. But the blend that had mocha notes just tasted diluted. Like super diluted. I stopped by here earlier today with my wife, our kids and her parents for our morning coffee. We happened to be in historic Lewes for the morning whenever I put Coffee into the Yelp search. Nottinghill Coffee Roasters was down the street and the first option in the results and so we headed on over. The shop itself was somewhat tiny but man did it have a lot to look at. There was a big coffee roaster on one side with all of the coffee sacks of previous coffees they had roasted. Then on the other side was a ton of coffee for sale with everything from specialty roasts to a crazy assortment of flavorings. I even saw one which was supposed to be the vanilla ice cream of the local homemade ice cream store I had walked past earlier. Up front they had display cases full of baked goods, since it's collocated with the bakery. Last but not least, towards the back they had a big selection of loose teas. For my coffee on this morning I decided to have something iced since it was already quite hot outside. So I decided to try for a iced cappuccino. I was told that they couldn't make it, which actually makes sense and so I went with a latte which they could make. Then for my wife I ordered a iced mocha. Our drinks were ready after only a few minutes and I then looked around for straws for a bit. The only ones that I ended up seeing looked like boba straws to me, but they fit the cups and so that's what's I ended up using. On my wife's first sip she ended up spilling some coffee on herself. For me it was on my first two sips before I realized something wasn't right with our lids. So for the rest of the time I drank from it straight upright. As for the coffee itself, it was ok. The flavor mostly got lost in the milk for me and what I enjoyed most about my drink was how cold it was. My wife seemed to enjoy hers more than myself though, so at least it was successful for her. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. I found the shop itself to be quite fascinating but i wasn't a huge fan of my coffee. So the next time I will have to order something hot as I feel like iced coffee is often too watered down for my taste by all of the ice. read more

What a find!! Lovely all you can fill coffee options. Their desserts and wraps are great. Very friendly service. We ordered the chicken salad sandwich which was very delicious. There was a constant stream of customers coming in. The ambience is more of a coffee wholesaler with jute bags filled with beans around you. Smells absolutely yummy. We were really underwhelmed. Upon first walking in, I thought it was cool how the coffee sacks were all strewn across the floor. But I think a much better use of that space would be to set up tables so people could enjoy their drink while doing work, etc. (maybe it used to be like that before COVID, I'm not sure). I was impressed by all the coffee bean options for purchase on the shelf - I did also notice that all of them had a hand-drawn design or color on the front of that bag. I thought that was cute and personal. I ordered a cafe latte, which is where the poor review comes in. The taste was so bitter that even adding a whole packet of sugar it didn't taste right. This place was so impressive we came back three times during our 2 day stay at the Dogfish inn! We stayed in mid November which is off season in the area but each time we visited here there was always a line. I was most impressed by their baked oatmeal. When you order it you think you are getting a muffin but they heat it up in a bowl and add steamed milk on it so it falls apart as you eat it. Just awesome! I got the blueberry one but they also had peach and cranberry. The other times I visited I got a vanilla chai and because it it the holiday season I splurged and got a gingerbread chi. Their coffee is delicious and they have tons of flavors and options. If you are in the Lewes area stop by here for a breakfast (sandwiches, quiche, pastries) or an afternoon pick me up. One of my go-to spots in Lewes when I travel here for work! The coffee and loose leaf tea selections are amazing! I love stopping in here for coffee whenever I get the chance. They roast their beans in house and use alcohol based flavoring which evaporates leaving the beans with a more robust flavor that isn't oily on the beans themselves. I always end up taking some coffee beans with me when I leave. The servers are always super nice and I often let them choose which house coffee I'll be trying that day. They have some bakery items to snack from as well and their sticky bun is amazing! Very rich though, so beware if you struggle with rich sweet flavors! Everything I've tried has been delicious and fresh. They have indoor and outdoor seating but the place does get busy and can get cramped from time to time. The town is filled with cute spots to wander around and sip coffee or tea though so don't worry! Overall, a perfect little hometown coffee shop and bakery that is a MUST when visiting Lewes! read more

It's a cute little spot in Lewes. I wouldn't recommend to come for the food - it's more so a good casual spot for coffee/drinks or a pastry. I had someone in my group ordered a veggie wrap and found a piece of hair in it and they were really nice about it and offered to swap out. I was not a fan of the iced mocha drink. Seemed too sweet and nothing special about it. Others ordered the lemonade and some type of açaí berry slushies and they were refreshing on a hot summer day. I would come back and try other items but for now nothing seemed to stand out to me from this cafe. The interior is decorated and with coffee bags and really cozy and outside has some tables to sit at too! All in all it's a solid spot for the only coffee shop in the area but don't have high expectations - I do appreciate supporting this small local business over a Dunkin' Donuts any day though so thought I'd add that. Their coffee is extremely watered-down that you can hardly taste the coffee. I've gone to this place three times to get coffee and no matter what I ordered, it's always the same overpriced, cheap coffee. I thought their cafe au lait would be different, but it was just as bad, if not worse. I have had better coffee from a gas station. Their croissants are acceptable, and if I were to go back to this store, that's the only thing I would buy. If you have a coffee machine at home, do yourself a favor-- brew your own coffee at home instead of going to Nottinghill. Lewes deserves better options than this. I'm just incredibly disappointed. Really good coffee, hence the four stars. Walked over to pick up coffee and breakfast sandwiches twice and they have yet to get them right. Nothing complex... one day bacon AND sausage v. just sausage (sausage is very good). Today one on toast and one on croissant and got both on croissant. Still delicious but not careful about details. New cute coffee shop in the downtown....that's how I would describe the shop and the experience. Right in the middle of the street surrounded by shops & restaurants is this lovely cute place. We ordered Chicken salad wrap with BLT and 2 coffees. The shop is small and with very limited seating. We went in with our 5-month old pup. Yes well behave pets allowed inside. Well our pup is a bit over friendly but he was welcome here. The shop ambience is of a coffee wholesaler with coffee bean bags all over the place and a big coffee grinder machine right in the middle. They have multiple brewed coffee for your selection. We had the Ethiopian spice, cookie cream and south American blend. I liked the South American blend. The shop also has homemade sweets which were a hot sell and looking at other people we decided to get some for ourselves too. Bathrooms are unisex and clean. This is a cute place with an interior cluttered with big sacks of coffee of indeterminate age. But the coffee itself gets no respect. It sits in self serve carafes for who knows how long, and when self served it is tepid and way past drinking prime. Almost all the pastries on display are sugar bombs, meant for kids or out of control diabetics. The chocolate croissant was filled with liquid chocolate frosting which also embellished the top. The palmieres, which are supposed to be crispy and flaky, we're soggy. And to top it off, they won't let customers use their rest room. read more

I have been here dozens of times. Very rude gentlemen making smoothies today. When I inquired if my last of 4 smoothies would be made soon (many smoothies for other customers made before my last one) he told me he was working on it. He then proceeded to triple the order because of other customers that also ordered the same drink. Totally fine, except he stopped to chat with customers and fellow employees while making it. I finally get the last smoothie (the rest of my group are halfway done with ours) and he apologizes for the wait in an unapologetic way. I don't respond, just nod because I am annoyed. He then proceeds to yell, " Have a nice day" across the shop as I'm leaving. I turn back and he is glaring at me. So unprofessional.
