Came on a Saturday night and there was a line going out the door and halfway down the block. We waited about 20 minutes before ordering. I got a small ($5.95) pistachio (light on the flavor) and chocolate truffle sea salt (great if you love chocolate, but oh so rich), a kids size ($4.75) Pippin (chocolate with cinnamon) and a kids ($4.75) with banana and mascarpone. My favorite was the Pippin-perfectly balanced with the cinnamon enhancing the chocolate. I have a kid with nut allergies and they have a LOT of nut products. The server cautioned us against ordering anything for her because there is a lot of cross contamination. I really appreciated the alert.

Nothing was changed. Only Gelato cup was the paper cup instead of colorful plastic cup. Single cup is $5.95. My husband loves plain chocolate, he chose chocolate w almond. I got 2 flavors which were mango and chocolate w chocolate chips. Soooo good!! The flavors are same, consistent for years. Love love Dolce Gelato!!! We will be back soon before the summer peak season. I feel awesome w fresh ocean air, trolley tour, flavorful Gelato dessert, and yummy foods in Laguna Beach. So many things....

So delish!! I got chocolate sea salt truffle and maple salted caramel - best gelato I've ever had!! We also sampled the apple rosemary which was a fun flavor. Can't wait to try the pb chocolate chip next time!

How long did I miss Gelato here???? The flavors are the same. I noticed they changed the cups in paper instead of plastic cups. Single cup is only $5.95. I got plain chocolate w almonds. Soooo good. My wife had 2 flavors. Mango and chocolate w chips. She loved the mango flavor. Always the Gelato makes us feel comfort. Happy day to treat little sweet for us. Awesome!!!

This gelato spot is located less than 5 minutes walking from Laguna Beach. There's a couple of different gelato spots around the area, one of which had a loooong line. We didn't want to wait in a long line so we stumbled across this spot. Not sure why this place doesn't also have a line! They have tons of unique flavors. I got the ferrero rocher and fruit of the forest (mixed berries) the combination of the two flavors was immaculate! I'm still dreaming of this flavor combination. I was able to get 2 flavors in the small size. After ordering, I took my gelato and walked along the beach! Such a good gelato spot.

Good gelato, and flavors galore, with large portions at a decent price! The service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean. It could use a bit more seating, but given how packed it was they likely need the space for standing bodies at peak times.

We had our hearts set on visiting this place because of all the positive reviews and all the great deal of vegan options. They had some unique flavor combinations. I sampled 3 of their flavors and settled on the vegan chocolate and macadamia/coconut blend. They were all quite tasty. My oldest got half chocolate and half mixed berry (fruit of the forest). The baby got mixed berry. We all enjoyed our gelato by the beach. The only thing I would have liked is the gelato to be a bit firmer. The sub was blasting this corner of the gelato and I felt like it melted super quickly. I also felt like this gelato was a bit more grainy. Service was fair, located about a block away from Heisler Park.

The gelato melted really fast but the flavors were fun and good. I think the quality could be better. Most were pretty creamy but I think if it were more frozen it would've tasted better. There was a line out the door but they moved pretty fast. They allowed for samples which was nice. Spacious and clean inside.

Utterly heavenly! This is my favorite place to get gelato on Laguna Beach, but today was even more exceptional than ever! For March their current theme is Spring Break Beaches and the flavors are both unique and incredibly fresh. Huge portions for the price!!!! My birthday was made extra special by stopping in. The service is always impeccable and the store was a clean, bright rest before hiking back to our parking spot. Pro-tip: If you need a drink while at the beach, come here! Sodas and sparkling waters are only ~$2 each! Almalfi Coast: Apricot, Cherry and Pistachio Cote D'Azure: Honey, Almond and Orange Blossom Nougat

We ended up going to this nice place after watching the huge line for Gelato Paradiso not moving at all..... good choice after all. Super nice service, brightly lit and welcome atmosphere. OK we had to scramble to get enough chairs and a table to sit down at..... if that part was covered (i noticed more people wanting to hang out a bit and they couldn't) I would have given 5 starts without a doubt. Oh yes, my favorite flavor? A honey / sea salt / peanut butter mixed gelato called "late" which is fantastic! The salt definitely helps deepen the flavor and I'm glad I got a medium size cup. Would go again and order this one again in a heartbeat.

Personally, I think Dolce Gelato is a great spot near Laguna Beach that's well worth trying. The location is perfect--after a walk on the beach and some sun, stopping by here for a scoop of gelato is super refreshing. It was pretty busy when we went, but the service was friendly and patient. The staff even offered us a few samples to help us decide. I ended up choosing the pistachio and sea salt caramel flavors. Overall, the gelato leans a bit on the sweet side, but you can tell it's made with real ingredients--not that artificial sugary taste. The pistachio was especially impressive, rich in flavor and with bits of real nuts. The sea salt caramel had great depth, a nice balance of sweet and salty, though it did start to feel a bit heavy toward the end--probably best paired with something lighter to balance it out. They also offer several plant-based flavors made with almond or coconut milk. My friend got the coconut matcha, which turned out surprisingly smooth and tasty--the coconut and matcha blended really well. It's a great option for people who are lactose-intolerant. The portion sizes were generous--a small cup is actually good enough to share--and the price was about $6-7 per cup. Not cheap, but fair considering the beachfront location and high-quality ingredients. The shop itself is small and seating is limited, so I recommend grabbing it to go and enjoying it while strolling or sitting by the beach for a better overall vibe. All in all, if you enjoy rich, flavorful gelato and don't mind a bit of sweetness, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I'm already looking forward to going back and trying their matcha or chocolate flavors next time.

No line on a Saturday afternoon, the staff are super friendly and they give you a huge scoop of gelato. With one scoop you are allowed to pick 2 flavors. I really liked the strawberry and pineapple flavors. My friend got more of a chocolate one and it was also good. Cute gelato shop super close to main beach as well! Would recommend!

Best gelato place in Orange County in my opinion. The highlight is their unique rotating flavors. I highly recommend choosing something from the rotating selection (bottom row) since it's where you'll find truly unique flavors. Where else would you have marzipan, almond, and pandan in gelato form? read more

Gelato is really good! But customer service was very poor. Just left. It was one young man and two young women working. I understand teenagers/young adults will be the way they are, but they didn't even greet us, didn't ask if we need help with anything, and didn't try to gauge what we might want. Instead one of the girls was singing along and dancing to a Justin Bieber song playing, she was wearing an ice cream cone sweater, then when we were ready to order the service shifted to the young man. It was confusing to know who to talk to. Then another couple came in and the same girl singing to the song seemed to be very helpful by greeting them and providing guidance. It really rubbed me the wrong way because I saw a shift in customer service. Again, I understand that young adults are probably not taking their job seriously. It didn't feel good seeing other people experience different customer service . That happen twice when another couple came in while we sat inside to eat. Would come back for the gelato. read more

So glad I stumbled upon this place when I was visiting Laguna. There was a variety of flavors and unique combinations that I was able to try. I went with the Tonka Bean and Salted Caramel, flavors that surprisingly worked well together. A kids cup was the perfect portion, and I was able to get both flavors in one cup. read more

Even though my girlfriend and I filled ourselves with great Italian food next door at Romeo Cucina, we decided we still had a little room for gelato. The selections were vast and the staff were so friendly and allowed us to sample a few so we could be sure of our choice. We ended up sharing a medium cup and it was more than enough for the two of us. Don't be fooled by the cup size, as they fill them high. The place is small and can get crowded on busy days/nights, but we got lucky and was in/out quickly. Great spot for a casual sweet treat while walking around Laguna Beach. read more

Pretty meh experience. The gelato was ok- some tasted natural (they say all natural ingredients) like pistachio and mint. But birthday cake and chocolate had a chemical aftertaste. As we were getting our scoops, I asked if I could get a bit of the gelato topping scooped into the cup (some gelato have toppings like sprinkles or chocolate already covering the gelato in the tub). The female worker said , I can't do that. My boss will kill me. It will ruin the appearance. Mind you - all of the tubs of gelato were not neat or orderly in appearance - jagged edges, older tubs scooped into new tubs- so that sounded like a lame excuse. Also , what kind of boss instills such fear over a scoop of gelato? Left a bad taste literally and figuratively. I'll continue to go to the other gelato place nearby. read more

Definitely recommending this place to everyone!!! The gelato was really good. The girl helping us was super nice although my boyfriend and I were being indecisive on what flavors we wanted. They have a variety of flavors to choose from so there's something for everyone. You do get a limit of 3 samples per person which i think is fair. I hate getting stuck behind a person sampling every flavor. Anyways we'll be coming back here again. read more

This place has my husband's favorite waffle cones ever, so we come every time we're in the area. He always gets vanilla bean. I always sample until I figure out what I want. I got the werewolf (walnut milk chocolate and dulce de leche swirl), espresso and Sam (pumpkin pie). Delicious. But we did have to go back because I realized my espresso flavor was missing. That was the one I really wanted too. Would recommend and recommend the waffle cones! Always great service too! read more

A small gelato shop with dairy and dairy-free options, nestled between Broadway and PCH, it's the perfect stop whenever you're looking for something sweet. They have over 20 options, but only allow three samples per person, so choose wisely! We chose the Birthday Cake and Pistachio flavors while there, and added a waffle cone (which they freshly made, definitely recommend to add on), which was delicious! We have been here several times, but I took my kids there again today and I figured I owe them a review seeing as we keep on going back! The gelato is so fresh and rich and delicious. We cannot go to Laguna Beach without stopping in here. There are some flavors that are amazing and always seem to be there such as the Ferrero and Nutty Irish, birthday cake etc. However, there are also seasonal options that are always a surprise. There was a Star Wars inspired section in previous visits and today we had what I can only guess was Wicked inspired. You can mix different flavors in your cup and everyone can have up to 3 sample tastings if you just cannot decide or have always wanted to try another flavor. It's a quaint little shop, but does have a few little tables if you want to eat there. There is some parking out front but it is usually full, so we just park in a lot and walk on over when we are done with the beach or lunch etc. I saw on their screen today that they also use all natural food coloring (vegetable dye) instead of that awful chemical stuff. Also, there are lots of vegan options with almond milk or sorbet. Love this place and so do my kids. read more

Ordered gelato in a waffle cone and a shake. Gelato was good, but considering I'm paying 12.95 for a large shake I'd expect the cup to be full. I have previously been here and gotten a large mango smoothie and the cup was filled. I asked the girl working if she could fill it and all she said they do 4 scoops for it... i think maybe they should get smaller size cups if that's not the correct size they advertise for large? The worker might have overwhelmed being the only one working when there was a line behind me. read more

Delicious! Late night gelato spot! We had half a pint of ferrero share and salted maple caramel. Highly recommend the half pints, very good value compared to medium size cup. Excellent service. Limited seating, this is more of a grab and go spot. read more

this gelato is good! some flavors are cute themes and right now it was animals. i just wanted a mango sorbet and it was yummy. i thought it had frozen ice chunks in it but it was actually pieces of mango so that's a good sign that it's made authentically! i appreciate that this store is open later than the other gelato shops around would recommend! read more

when we walked in we felt welcomed, we were able to try to as many flavors as we wants. (We're just girls) it's hard to pick sometimes. The prices are good. A small is 4.75 and they fill up the cup! They had a couple tables for us to sit at and enjoy our gelato. We will definitely be coming back! The girl who helped us was very friendly too read more

Dolce gelato, at either of the shop on Broadway in Laguna Beach or it's twin in Tustin marketplace, has simply the best gelato I've had anywhere in Southern California or any place in Italy... Such a cute ice cream shop among the cute walking alley by Laguna beach! W whether tastes so good! They have vegan options which is perfect for all the lactose intolerant girlies like me. I love all the flavors I tried, rabbit relationships (sour and tastes like green smoothie to me even the color is carrot like), basil is amazing, and Winnie the Pooh (coconut) are sweet and creamy. Definitely good place to have a nice all. Just parking is a bit tricky. read more

We arrived just a little bit before closing, and yet the staff was welcoming by beckoning us in. We ordered a small (left) and kids size (right) in the pistachio flavor coming out to just a little over $10. Considering how much they stack into each cup, I'd say that's a fair price for a decent taste. I barely finished my kids size, so I'd say it's quite filling. The other nearby gelato shop (Gelato Paradiso) usually has a very long line depending on when you make your visit and this place is a solid alternative when you don't want to wait in the former's long lines. While the pistachio wasn't my favorite, I'm looking forward to trying other flavors the next time I come! read more

This time I unwrapped it before I left to make sure I got what I ordered. (Would have been nice to throw in a bag of chips or a cookie for free given the inconvenience.) Pro: Gelato at late hours Con: artificially flavored and too milky. on the pricy side. small portion I'm usually a huge fan of gelato, but this location really disappointed me I came here when it first opened and it was called Tuttoamore the gelato was one of the best I ever tried even better than most places in Italy. Now they change again ownership with a new name Dolce gelato (sweet ice cream) the interior decor is nice but my godness the gelato is too milky or something and just has a weird taste the sorbet is way too sweet (artificially) and icy, just like the regular ice cream haagen dazs down the street. Prices are still steep I would not recommend this place especially if you are looking for a true authentic italian gelato. read more

Legitimately just walked out of this place because the chick with the green pixie cut was extremely rude and off-putting. My friend and I tried two samples each and she interrupted to rudely ask what size we were ordering (insinuating we were just there to try samples). My friend said we don't know yet as we were just trying different flavors and the girl for really rude and antagonized us about choosing a size. If she reads this, I would like her to know that her customer service is horrible and it's really not that hard to be nice to people while scooping gelato. read more

Tuttoamore changed ownership. It was my favorite spot, I have been in Italy many many times so I know what good gelato is, I do not know what they are doing now but it does not taste like authentic italian anymore. The hazelnut and the chocolate were too sweet and artificial (corn syrup maybe?) like most of the other flavors. The sorbettos did not impress me at all, we lost the best spot for gelato in OC, what a shame! read more

They have the staple flavors and change up 10 new flavors once a week. never doing the same flavors twice they have amazing creativity and know how to reel us in for the new flavors of the week! they are very generous with samples..and very friendly.. you can tell they enjoy what they do! gelato 4.5 service 4.5 thanks for bringing quality gelato to laguna! Still as delicious as ever, maybe even more so. I love how creative their flavors are and there are always new ones to try. They have a theme each month and new flavors in that theme and I love to come and see what they are. I also get to try ingredients I've never even heard of like cloudberry and pandan. If you love food and food adventures definitely check it out! read more

Once you wait in line at Dolce, and step up to the counter and order your Gelato ... you're sure to return, once twice, maybe more! Excellent flavors, and fair price, and the taste was fantastic. It's hard to believe I've only had a few Gelato's over the years, but this was exceptional. read more

Yay!!! Sooo good. We used to come here a while back when it was under other ownership. So thrilled that Dolce is serving fantastic gelato. Creamy, smooth, flavorful!!! I had coconut and lemon and the hubs had pistachio. A small will set you back $4.50 but so good. read more

Fantastic! I love their more creative and exotic flavors like blackberry basil and Aztec chocolate. But they also have great classic Gelato flavors like pistachio and sweet cream. This is hands down the best Gelato I have had outside of Italy. read more

Always excellent with a wide variety of choices. Service is friendly and accommodating. The standard flavors such as strawberry, pistachio, and coffee are as close as you're going to get to Italy in Southern California. read more
