I try not to get crazy with the flavors because I want all, it may not mix well when melted. I tried their version of the Dubai chocolate and pistachio. This is a pistachio lovers delight. Mix this with the dark chocolate hazelnut flavor and you're golden! Stracciatella and coffee with dark chocolate hazelnut flavor is a good combo too! Service was excellent and attentive!
As someone who loves the Laguna Beach location of Gelato Paradiso, I'm not sure how I've missed this location after many visits to Fashion Island over the years. It's located in the Atrium food court where I stumbled upon it recently. Their ice cream is very creamy and flavorful plus they give generous-sized scoops. After perusing twenty-some flavors in their freezer, the bubbly woman behind the counter took my order: 2 scoops in a cup, one of biscotti creme (cookies and cream) and one of stracciatella (chocolate chip). I sat and devoured these delicious scoops in the food court seating area, moaning with delight with each bite. Until security escorted me out for making weird noises.
Gelato Paradiso has the best gelato outside of Italy, with origins based on a partnership with Sicilian gelato makers. There is an array of flavors to appeal to everyone, among my favorites are the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut and Pistachio. Eat them together and it's like an Italian version of Dubai Chocolate ! Another amazing flavor is the Tiramisu, which also makes an amazing milkshake. I'll bet my Hazelnut and Pistachio combo would too, a note for next time!
I love Gelato Paradiso. The one in Laguna beach is my favorite gelato place period. This one is the second location I believe as it's been here for quite a bit now. The line here is non existent like the one in Laguna beach for obvious reasons like location and foot traffic by the beach but they have the same delicious flavors. My personal favorite is the baccio which is hazel nut and dark chocolate. I usually get that with pistachio or something new and different. The quality here is phenomenal as they make their own gelato. This is located at the food court of the Fashion Island mall.
As we waited in a long line someone asked me if this place was worth it. I replied "I'll tell you after I try it" . The answer is yes! The gelato is delicious and they make their waffle cones in house. A small portion was enough for me as it is very sweet.
This has been our go to sweet tooth fix for years. I always prefer the softness of gelato over ice cream and this place delivers. They always have some unique flavors and allow to you mix it up with different flavors even in a small dish. The lines can get long, but it's worth the wait.
My low carb diet goes to $h1t when I cross paths with Gelato Paradiso. I get a small which is still a generous portion and succumb to anything tropical flavored. This time it was the mango which was creamy, tangy, sweet and delicious. Damn you Gelato Paradiso, my weak will power is no match for your menu of many compelling flavors.
Delicious gelato with huge portion sizes. This is a regular and could easily be classified as a large. They also give you the option to choose up to 4 flavors which is great if you haven't multiple flavors that you want to try!
Plenty of parking spaces. It's located in the food court in Fashion Island. They have plenty of flavors to chose from and you can try the flavors as well. I ordered the regular size (up to 4 scoops, but I did 2 scoops) and chose Blackberry Chocolate Chip and Milk Chocolate Hazelnut. Both flavors were delicious! Time for an update - brought a new Yelp friend here today and was just as blown away as the first time. Super friendly service with offers to sample for free. They gave an array of gelato flavors that are beautifully displayed. I'm sure you could find a flavor you crave. The smoothness of the gelato is excellent with bold flavoring. You can choose from a cup or waffle cone - or even take some home. I had pistachio, strawberry cheesecake, and banana. Loved them all! Plenty of seating right there in the food court located on the bottom floor of Fashion Island. Next to the Barnes and Noble. Excuse me while I go enjoy my gelato time.
Not as fancy as the other gelato place at fashion island but don't be fooled. Many more flavors so if you have picky eaters or want to appease the masses, this might be a better choice. The line is also shorter without compromising good service or quality product. The gelato is a bit more dense but still smooth ans creamy. You can also pack in more flavors per order if you're the type that wants to sample it all! Fairly priced. Located in the food court. Yum. Loved the blackberry stracciatella.
We love this little spot and they have so many flavors to from. Personal favorite is the seasonal white chocolate peppermint. Absolutely yummy! They offer promotions once in awhile and you should take advantage of them. Super friendly and tastes great!
Came to Fashion Island for a sweet treat! This gelato place had good ratings so I wanted to try it out. I got the chocolate covered strawberry and it's SO delicious. It's creamy, sweet but not overly sweet, crunchy & a little bitterness from the dark chocolate. It had all the right elements. I tried the espresso as well and it had a great strong espresso flavor. I'd definitely get that next time! The guy was super helpful and let us try out all the flavors we wanted. I'd come back if I was craving gelato!

I do not remember ever having gelato before, but good lordie, this was good!!!! I am a fan of Gelato now. I opted for their Mango, Tiramisu, Chocolate & Bacio cup. All flavors were delicious and melt in your mouth (Literally). If you are at Fashion Island, go downstairs to the food court and try this place out. You will not be disappointed! read more

Always love coming here. One of the first gelato spots in Orange County long before gelato was popular. They're always so friendly and helpful and let you have as many taste testers as you want. It's light and bright with colorful gelatos on display. Most importantly, all the flavors are delicious. read more

Today was a hot day so we decided to go and try out a new gelato place. This little gem is tucked away in a food court of a huge massive shopping mall. A huge open glass window to look at all the different flavors. Lots of flavors to try And the way they're displayed is beautiful. It is a food court so there is open seating, it can be busy at times depending on what time you go. They have different sizes of not only cups, but also cones. The pricing is reasonable & staff is friendly. read more

Friendly and nice staff. Got to try some flavors before settling on buying. Not bad on prices. Got a cone with 3 gelato flavors for less than $9 that is pretty cheap to me. No line at the time I went, the gelato was favorable as well not overly too sweet. read more

I absolutely love this spot! I have gone over 10 times and they have never disappointed. The fruit flavors and fresh and vibrant with no trace of feeling of artificial flavorings. My go-to's have been the espresso alongside the Stracciatella or Tiramisu. These flavors bring together the bitterness and complexity of the espresso flavor while balancing it out with the sweetness from the Stracciatella. read more

gelato paradiso is always a great choice for a sweet treat! their espresso flavor is still the best coffee flavored gelato i have ever had. no other gelato place can compare. I paired mine up with a sweet cream gelato to kind of create a latte flavored gelato :) also portions are big! they don't skimp out on gelato over here. having been to the laguna location as well, this place has a different, less whimsical vibe (being directly in a food court) but at least that means there's a lot more seating available for u to enjoy ur gelato! service is prompt and they give you samples of flavors you're interested in! read more

This was my first time to this location of Gelato Paradiso, lured in by their 25h anniversary $2.25 scoop promotion. I had been to their Laguna Beach shop, so I knew this would be worth driving to Newport Beach for! Considering how busy it must have been, they were very cheery, eagerly providing samples. I upgraded to the waffle cone for a $1 extra, because the servings for the waffle cone always seem more generous than the cup. My banana and Bacio cone looked like it might be more gelato than I could eat, but I managed to give it all a good home. The best part about coming to the one in Newport Beach is that you can enjoy your cone while looking out at the ocean, if you go over to the seating by the Macy's. read more

I came here to Gelato Paradiso for the first time after seeing their Instagram Promotion for their $2.25 gelato! The line wasn't too long, only about 15 minutes and they passed out delicious ice cream cake for the people in line! I got the black cherry ice cream cake and it was so delicious! I loved the smooth flavor of the gelato and the combination with the cake and chocolate. One stand out employee was Cassie. She was so kind to us and gave great suggestions on flavors she likes and what's popular for us to try. I appreciated her positive attitude and energy throughout the entire visit-- it really added to my experience here!! The gelato I got was DELICIOUS! I got Raspberry, Mango, Amarena, and Mint Chip. Every flavor was so smooth and full of flavor! My favorite was the raspberry for its sweet but tangy flavor. The waffle cone was very crunchy and yummy as well. I would definitely recommend coming here to Gelato Paradiso. This was a wonderful experience and delicious gelato store. And special thanks to Cassie who made this experience even more memorable! read more

The aroma of the freshly made waffle cones beckoned me to their store front upon entering the food court. They have so many flavors and offer up to 4 different choices for their smallest cup for $6.85. The strawberry was the most powerful flavor aside from the coffee. The cantaloupe and guava were light and refreshing. Gelato cravings satisfied! read more

My favorite gelato spot in OC. Located in the indoor food court at Fashion Island. This location is less crowded than the one in Laguna but the taste and quality is always consistent. I usually get the pistachio, rocky road, and whatever the rotating flavor of the month is. read more

I love you Gelato. lol Gelato Paradiso is everything you would imagine and more. I'd like to preface my review with the fact that I have not been to Italy. So, I can't say I know what authentic or "real" gelato tastes like. However, for an "Italy noob," I can say it tasted magical lol The gelato was so rich and satisfying. I went with two different flavors; the chocolate chip cookie dough and the chocolate flavor. It seemed like the chocolate was a double coco. It was super chocolatey! My favorite was the chocolate chip cookie dough though. The tiny pieces of cookie dough throughout were a nice tough. I guess I am used to American ice cream where the cookie dough is usually in balls and is sporadically throughout the dessert. But this was small pieces of cookie dough, which spread out more evenly and you got some in every bite. Win! My boyfriend got the mint chocolate chip, and he enjoyed his too. Overall, this is a cute place to stop for dessert on date night- or if you have a sweet tooth like me. read more
Came with my friend and we got the large waffle cone to split. They were super nice and I got to try a few flavors. Panna cotta - really nice subtle flavor. It's great to have with stronger flavors as a balance. Pistachio - strong pistachio flavor with a lot of pistachio bits! I don't love a strong pistachio flavor myself but I imagine anyone who loves pistachio would love this Blackberry and chocolate chip - my favorite of all the flavors! The blackberry was nice - not overpowering but not too subtle that I struggled to taste it. The chocolate chip bits were also really fun to eat in between bites. The waffle cone itself was really nice and fun to eat as well. Overall, really liked this place. read more

After standing in line for a while, when it was our turn my daughter and I were very happy there was still some pistachio left as they said they have no more. We told them we wanted cones with pistachio as one flavor and we were thinking of other flavors but the young lady was just waiting even though I kept on saying pistachio! The other employees were helping the groups behind us and as our helper was prepping my sister's cone with pistachio as well, other employees kept on putting pistachio flavor for the guests behind us! I said we should be served first as my daughter and I also wanted pistachio so by the time she fineshed my sister's cone, all the pistachios were gone! We went to the fashion island solely for the gelato and this is the service we got even thought I kept on saying we were to be helped first and we wanted that flavor but we were just given the eye or a stair! So disappointed! read more
