Eram from Dolce Piano did a great job tuning my 105 year old baby grand and fixed a sticky key issue. I was worried about finding someone who would handle this vintage Cable Company piano carefully, and Eram definitely delivered. Be sure to make your expectations clear with him. I was informed the issues were from out of tune before starting, so I agreed with proceeding with tuning. 1. After he finished in about 70 minutes, I was told the issues are mechanical and cannot fix by tuning, and it's too expensive to fix. He would not explain what causes the issues either. This was not made clear before tuning. Had I known, I would not spend money on tuning this thing. 2. Some keys were still out of tune, but he said because the piano is old so continues trying may break the strings. This was not made aware either. If this piano is too old to be tuned, every thing should be made aware to the customer during the evaluation prior to starting. I felt like I was being lied to buy something with no way to return. 3. There was also broken string happened during this tuning, he said because the piano is old, so it's normal to break and he would need to charge for the replacement. 4. The tuning is based on an app called Tune Lab. I really don't want to write a bad review here. I understand the piano is old, but the risk and problems should be reviewed with the customer read more

For the last 10 years or so, I had a piano tuner who did an execellent job (I went through a few tuners before I met this honest, meticulous tuner). Unfortunately, he retired :( After googling and reading the reviews, I contacted Dolce piano. A few minutes after I sent a message to Dolce paino through thumbtack, a nice lady called me and scheduled for Eram, the technician, came the very next day. I was thrilled with their fast service! The next day, Eram came on time, and spent less than 40 minutes to tune my piano through an app on his portable device (not sure if it's an ipad or Andoid). This includes the time he checked the piano, took out the panels and all. I was a bit taken back as in the past, all the technician spent at least an hour to tune almost every single key. When he asked me to check the piano, I realized there was a sticky key which didn't act like that the day before Eram came. Eram admitted that he adjusted the pedals which might cause the sticky key. He fixed that. Then, I realized there was a piece of felt on the floor. Eram had to take out the piano panels again to put it back. After he left, I played and hear strange noises when the keys hit the strings which didn't happen before the tuning. I contacted Dolce piano again. The sweet lady schedule for Eram to come out the second time. He was still nice. However, he was passive agressive when I pointed out the problem. His respond was "we just talked about the tuning." So we did. He admitted the upper keys were a little off, so he tuned those. I wish he could be more tidious about what he does rather coming back 2 times and my piano still is not quite what I experience after the tunning with other technicians in the past. I just don't understand how Dolce piano got more than 170 positive reviews from thumbtack as well as on nextdoor.com. I feel $145 for this tuning is not worth it. Now I have to get a second opinion for the strange sound, and random sticky keys. read more
