For my first time at Dolci, I greatly enjoyed myself and plan to return! Omaha has been beautiful lately, and my boyfriend and I stopped in to get a quick treat while spending the weekend in the Old Market. We both opted for the cookies and cream ice cream waffle cones. I chose the smallest cone and it was still humongous. I don't think I could have handled more than the size I got; servings are very generous! The location is perfect for grabbing a treat and browsing the area, but their indoor seating is comfortable and very cute as well. Came here after going on a walk in the scorching heat with my friend. I was really excited to try Dolci and to see that they have flavor burst soft serve. I decided to try the chocolate swirl since I was craving chocolate ice cream. The soft serve was really disappointing to me. The chocolate flavor was really bland and didn't really even taste like chocolate. It was $3.25 for a dish of it which was a decent amount but definitely not worth it. The service was not very friendly as we were not greeted or talked to for a while. There is also not a lot of seating inside so definitely not a place to sit down in with a large group. I was really hoping to be a fan of Dolci, but this time was not great. read more

The two staff who were working there seemed a little young and inexperienced, but they were able to fulfill most of the orders and tried to accommodate what customers wanted despite the limitations given the machines were broken. Such a great hidden gem in the Old Market! My husband and I stopped here for some treats as we perused the OM shops last weekend. When I walked in, I was immediately met by the sweet smell of baked cannoli and espresso. Yum! I saw soft serve ice cream and espresso on the menu, and although an affogato wasn't on the menu, when I asked for it they immediately knew what I wanted and made it in a jiffy. My husband ordered a made-in-store-fresh cannoli. I loved that they didn't fill the cannolo until it was ordered so it was fresh and the shell was crisp. It was made authentically with ricotta cheese and not too sweet. The affogato was amazing and we will certainly be going back for more! read more

I stopped in at Dolci while walking around the Old Market before dinner. I always like to check out dessert shops while I'm on business trips. They are a very small local ice cream shop/bakery. I didn't want to eat ice cream for dinner so I decided to buy some desserts to save for later. I got the amaretti cookies, a bag of warmed candied pecans and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. The young lady at the register told us that she baked the cookies herself, so I definitely had to get one! They also feature desserts from another local bakery which I thought was nice. She was so friendly and gave us good recommendations. The amaretti cookies were very good and had great texture. My only small complaint is that there was a piece of lint (likely from a towel) sticking out of one of the cookies. The chocolate chip walnut cookie also had great flavor and I like that the edge was slightly crispy and the cookie was chewy. The warmed pecans were a nice treat to snack on while walking around the Old Market since it was slightly chilly. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a sweet treat. read more

A newer ice cream shop in the Old Market. Of course, you have to make the comparison to Ted and Wally's and I would say that they are completely different. While the Old Market district suffers no shortage of restaurants and coffee shops, the dessert/non alcoholic night cap scene AFTER dinner or lunch always felt lacking. Basically, you could get coffee, teas, or a smoothie, or ice cream at T and W if you weren't going to have desert inside a restaurant. Dolc changes that a little. It is a small owned shop on 10th next to the Christmas Store and candy shop. They have mainly soft serve items with mix-ins- so think Dairy queen or Mcflurry. I do think the taste is better than it's ice milk counter parts though and am willing to pay the downtown prices for the ambience and the locally owned feel. I love watching the crushed candies dispensed from the machine as the soft serve swirls. It's a much shorter line than T&W and for a frequently Old Market visitor like myself (who doesnt always want to stand in long line or need to eat TW constantly), it fits the needs of that sweet bite after dinner. read more

Stopped in to this little spot after a great dinner in the old market with the kiddos. This is a cute little shop that fits quit nicely into the atmosphere downtown. The kids where super excited about the old tin signs on the wall and kept asking me if they could have a 5 cent rootbeer float! Sadly the prices where a little higher than I'd like. Service was great from the last behind the counter and we sampled 6 different tasty treats. My favorite had to be the loaded ice cream cone with sprinkles actually in (not just on top) of the ice cream. All the treats we tried including the home made cannoli where very tasty. Prices just seemed a little high. But ultimately I would recommend it as a special treat with the family! read more

We stumbled upon here because Ted and Walles was packed and we really wanted ice cream. I think the concepts are cool. I had the crunch cream cone and it reminded me of what a blizzard/McFlurry cone would be. The ice cream is blended with candy all the way through so that's nice. My husband had a flavor burst cone and the flavor ribbons are wrapped all the way through the cone. It was ok, really nothing special. Although I really like the concepts of this place, there are only about 6 varieties of each cone type. Also, I didn't have the option of choosing chocolate ice cream. I don't know if they don't have chocolate ice cream, but since it wasn't an option I am guessing not. I think I would skip in the future and just wait in line at Ted and Walles. read more

A new comer to the old market is Dolci. A tiny ice cream and baked goods store connect to the candy shoppe. We went in here later at night so it wasn't that busy and the place was clean. The employees were sweet enough, especially to my niece (9 years old) and they even gave her a free tiny cone of her own. We got the sugar cone, mix of butterscotch and mocha. The flavor wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything I'd write home about. Almost $4.50 after tax it's way over-priced. When I was a child this type of machine, the one that serves vanilla and swirls the flavor on the outside, was in fast food shops and gas stations just about everwhere and you could get a cone for like $1.50. Keep in mind folks I'm only 27. It's a fun experience and kids really seem to enjoy it, but no, I probably wouldn't do it again. read more

Guess I should have educated myself better about this place. It's all soft serve. A machine that dispenses vanilla soft serve with some flavoring on it. Kids asked for a chocolate ice cream and it end up being a vanilla cone with some and a minimal at that, chocolate syrup swirled on the outside, so as soon as the outside got licked off you were left with just a vanilla soft serve cone. I also got a German chocolate mini cake, it was the sweetest thing, pure sugar. I scraped off the chocolate cake part to eat as I couldn't eat the coconut blend or chocolate icing. One of the worst Ice creams I've eaten. Didn't even finish it because it was not worth the calories. We took a few flavors and all of them taste like vanilla with some food coloring. Maybe a hint of another flavor but not more than that. The swirls are a total waste. It is vanilla ice cream with a swirl of a coloring of some sort that pretends to be a flavor of some sort. I prefer to indulge when I have ice cream and it needs to be rich and flavorful. This was definitely not the place. Decided to try an old style dolci ice cream for dessert. Asked the clerk what she suggested and she gave me three choices of which I tried the lemon. Cry disappointed that there was little or no difference except for the lemon swirled around the soft serve ice cream. A small sugar cone cost me $3.58 Good grief! Absolutely in love with the Crunchi Crème soft serve. Only can have vanilla as the base, and while I was disappointed, that disappeared the second I tasted the icecream. I chose Heath Bar as my mix-in and it was to die for! It was actual pieces of heath bar mixed into the ice-cream, and we aren't talking like something from Dairy Queen or Friendly's - this was like it belonged in the soft serve to begin with. I live in the area, and always try to support local businesses as I can. However, this will be my last time coming to Dolci until they can educate their employees. I came in around 7 PM to buy a sweet treat for a coworker. Immediately when I walked in the gal behind the register annoyingly looked up from talking with her friend to point out that I had a dog and he wasn't welcome. She did not ask me if he was a service dog or any of the legal (and appropriate) follow up questions. He was literally wearing a service vest and I had just told a gentleman he could not pet him because he was working. The young girl behind the counter Was very disrespectful and her disposition and did not even apologize after I informed her of the mistake she had made... She look blatantly confused. I highly suggest management re-ground their employees in the appropriate actions to take when working with people Who present with disabilities. It's 2022, do better. read more

Dolci offers soft serve ice cream with mix-ins that would be prefectly fine elsewhere but really suffers being so close to Ted & Wally's.
