The things that are more expensive you truly feel like they are good quality and a decent value. They have a lot of produce that you wouldn't see anywhere else. The bakery is legit and has awesome cakes and breads. Snacks and dried goods imported from all over the world. They have a really nice selection of flowers that they'll beautifully wrap up for you. Plus the cafe has really good food. We always get pizza and it's great quality for a great price. They also have a playground for little ones. Shopping at Central Market is truly a one of a kind experience and I always leave feeling excited about the new and unique things they have. They frequently have special events and themes too. I remember a few years ago they did one on Portugal and had a bunch of imported Portuguese items and they made Portuguese bread and pastries in the bakery. It was amazing.

Once you walk in, it is kind of sensory overload. There is a "food court" right up front with several options. Hamburgers, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, sushi, gelato, and more. Plenty to choose from. I also went back to the bakery and checked out their assorted baked goods. I was underwhelmed. They looked phenomenal but they were average size, etc. But the prices were outrageous. More expensive that San Diego prices which kind of surprised me. I ended up getting a hamburger. The chef was very nice, friendly, made me laugh. He built me a fantastic bleu bonnet burger. It was tasty, flavorful, filling. It was cooked a little more than I would normally want, but still yummy. the Brioche Bun was good, but did fall apart a little bit. Maybe warming it on the grill had something to do with that. I went with a combo that included a drink cup for the help yourself drink station. The drink station had interesting flavors I have never seen before, and some old standards like coke, diet coke, sprite. The combo also included crinkle cut fries. They were warm, golden brown, delicious but they were a little overdone. Definitely needed some ketchup to help eat them. The staff at the checkout lines were smiling, laughing, friendly, and when they had to check out one of their coworkers, you could see the strong camaraderie amongst the employees. It looks like a fun place to work and the team works well together. I got dessert at another place in town. Enjoy the photos.

I love making protein smoothies at home, and here at Aldi I found a killer deal on frozen fruit! The meat also seemed to be better priced. It doesn't have as much selection as other grocery stores you've likely been in, but I'd say give it a try. The employees were helpful. Bring your own bags! And, just like in Germany, you'll need to bag your own stuff at the wall counter after checkout.

I understand that they know the way things work at this store, but as a first time customer, I don't. If I don't have a positive experience, why would I come back? Even if the prices are less for some things than other grocery stores in the area. I can't even say that it's such huge savings that I would endure having to keep a quarter with me in order to even get a shopping cart to use. Not to mention, the strawberries were moldy with huge white mold growth. The way the shelves are built and setup feel very bare bones and budget. Maybe it's just me, but it felt sterile and unwelcoming so I won't be back. I also don't need a cashier to aggressively tell me they need to keep the cart while grabbing it as if I'm a thief.

Fourteen months ago I started eating carnivore and although I was already buying my meat here I feared that a carnivore diet was going to be too expensive. I found that not only are the prices very reasonable but that I can buy a variety of animal proteins that I enjoy, like turkey thighs, duck, along with chicken parts. I have found that I spend considerably less eating carnivore than I did when I was buying vegetables. I have been very pleased with the quality of the meat and the prices over all at the store. The people who work here are also kind and helpful. The people in the meat department recognize and greet me. They have so many different cuts of beef and I often ask questions on how they need to be cooked. When I have asked other staff for the location of an item, they stop what they are doing and escort me to the location, which on several occasions were on the top of the shelf and being disabled it is hard to stand and reach things when sitting in a mobile cart. My only complaint has been that often the mobile carts are inoperable, and it's very frustrating not to be able to shop when there are 4 to 5 mobile carts sitting there that don't work. Thankfully they have gotten them repaired and purchased some new ones but they still need to be more diligent in making sure they are plugged in when not in use so it is charged up for the next person.
