I gave up shopping at Kroger because they had poor quality and limited selection, and it always looked picked over. Root veggies were rotten in the middle, withered, old. Fresh Thyme has many hard to find things: Lacinato kale. Dandelion greens. Chayote squash. Hen-of-the-woods mushrooms. Multiple varieties of peppers. I cook with a lot of varied vegetables; dishes from around the world. Fresh Thyme makes that easy. The app is... meh. But Fresh Thyme will deliver groceries shopped for online. While the substitutions have been somewhat hit-or-miss, I'm housebound, waiting for a new hip, so this has been incredibly helpful. The shoppers have also been universally communicative and friendly. I like coming here to get vegetables and fruit, as well as when I just need to grab a few things on the way home. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a store much closer to us on the Southside. Of course we went inside to explore. They have so many international food but we were told this is the smallest store of there 3 locations. Parking was at a premium and as expected they had many shoppers on a weekday morning. The produce was beautiful and they had many varieties also. There is a fresh fish area and a meat area as well as a small restaurant in the back of the store. The employees were friendly and quite helpful in locating some items that we wanted. There is a large selection of fresh, frozen and canned items. Review of Kroger - Ongoing Check Fraud Issue…read more This is the second time my elderly father has experienced check fraud involving Kroger. That alone raises serious concerns. Most recently, he wrote a check for $17 at a Kroger store. The physical check was returned to him showing $17, and his receipt also confirmed the correct amount. However, when he later checked his bank account, $317 had been withdrawn. Despite numerous attempts to get this resolved, Kroger has offered nothing but delays, blaming their third-party check processing vendor. When contacted, the vendor pointed the finger back at Kroger. This circular blame game has gone nowhere. To be clear: a Kroger cashier effectively stole $300 from an elderly customer. And given this is the second time it's happened to him, it would be naïve to think this isn't a more widespread issue--one that may often go unnoticed, especially by elderly shoppers who rely on paper checks. As of now, there has been no resolution, no accountability, and no refund. Kroger needs to take this issue seriously and ensure better oversight of its check handling process, especially when vulnerable customers are being targeted.

While I was waiting, an employee named Carrie was already helping another customer with a locked display case. Since the phone case I needed was in the display case right next to the one she was already at, I politely asked if she could unlock it while she was there. I even offered to pay for the item upfront if that made things easier. She immediately responded, "I have a member next, I can't." I told her I understood and was only asking because it would save both of us an extra trip. She then replied in a much ruder tone, "I just told you someone's next." At that point I walked away because I didn't want to argue. A few minutes later I came back because I really needed the phone case. Another employee noticed me, was extremely polite, unlocked the case, and brought the phone case to Carrie's register. As he was bringing it over, Carrie made the comment, "Oh, they couldn't wait." Then when I got to the register, she stated , "You couldn't have just waited? You are very entitled." That honestly caught me off guard because I had been respectful the entire time. I simply told her I didn't understand what the problem was since she had already been standing right next to the case when I asked. I completely understand that retail employees deal with difficult situations every day, and I always try to be patient and respectful. That's exactly why this interaction was so disappointing. There was no reason for the sarcastic comments or for speaking to me the way she did. I do want to recognize the other associate who stepped in and helped me. He was friendly, professional, and solved the problem in less than a minute. He turned what could have been an even worse experience into a manageable one. I hope management looks into this because no customer should be made to feel disrespected for politely asking for assistance. I am always shopping at this store and have never had an interaction like this. She simply could of said " I will be with you in one second " and that would of left me satisfied that she acknowledged me , but no she instantly because rude and I did not appreciate it at all.
