I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience from the Hackettstown, New Jersey location today…read more I ordered an ottoman for in store pickup (that was in stock online). One hour and 20 minutes later I receive a notification letting me know that the item was out of stock. This is inconvenient of course, but understandable. I called the location because I had used a coupon on that item that expires and I was wondering what other options there were for me to get that item since it is sold out online and all the locations within an hour of me. The first woman I spoke to was very understanding and helpful... other than the fact she left me on a "brief" hold for over 40 minutes!!! I hung up the phone and called back 4 times until someone picked up. I explained the situation and the man could not have been more unprofessional, it was like he had never taken a phone call before. I asked for advice on what I should do to get the item and he replies "well, uh, what do you mean help you?" I also explained that the lady told me she would check with a colleague if she could honor my item and / or coupon and the man replied "uh what lady." I then had to ask if I could speak with someone else about this and he replied "uh there's nobody else here." I am super frustrated that not only did my item get canceled causing a inconvenience for me, but they also wasted 2h+ of my time!!! Below will be screenshots with time stamps!

Everything is modern and fresh unlike some other Targets I've been to out of state. I even recognize some former coworkers I used to work with at Sam's Club (farewell) in Budd Lake from time to time. The selection is always on point and the Target value is always higher than the competition usually.

They will even refill any balloons you have to make sure they are completely filled if you pick one already done and have a huge selection. They have handicapped parking which is also rare.

What a fun store!…read more We were in need of a few Christmas cards and saw the Hallmark sign. But holy moly, they offer so much more than cards, stationery, and paper products: clothing, accessories (for winter: hats, scarves...), jewelry, water bottles, Goodr sunglasses, home decor items (candles, blankets...), chocolates, kids' toys, and a variety of gift items. What a fun and neatly organized store to explore. We found the cards we needed in the back of the store, and then stumbled upon the perfect gift for our bird-loving Aunt: bird seed ornaments in the shape of birds (so random but so spot on - she loved them!). We bought some chocolates too. I resisted the urge to buy the "It's a beaut, Clark" sweatshirt...but wish I bought it! We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again next Christmas! Cheers!

The manager, Amy, should be fired. She was more focused on her phone than on customers or her…read morestaff. She came across as passive-aggressive toward employees who were clearly working hard while she stood around doing nothing. On top of that, her behavior was blatantly racist. I am not a person of color, but the difference in how she treated customers was obvious. She repeatedly ignored non-white customers and followed them around the store as if she were waiting to accuse them of stealing. This is not the first time concerns like this have been raised about her, which begs the question: why is she still employed? Many people that I've talked to said they will not step foot in this store again as long as she remains the manager, and I am one of them. Her behavior made ME deeply uncomfortable and I wasn't even a 'target' for her. It's especially disappointing because the rest of the employees are wonderful, and I would much rather continue shopping there and supporting them than having to drive to another location. Fire. This. Woman.

I go to both Wegmans and ShopRite. Each has pluses and minuses. Parsippany is my SR of choice over…read moremany of the others, especially the tiny old one in Caldwell. So now that this one is open, I thought the big new ShopRite would bring forward the best parts that Parsippany features. Things I like: Much more expansive and well lit. Aisles are longer and better organized. Things I dislike: Still not nearly as well organized as Parsippany. Those new digital price tags that are hard to read. The parking lot is laid out perpendicular to the building instead of parallel, so you have to commit to a row and you can easily get stuck there as people pull in and out. Yeah, Caldwell is still crowded after the expansion, whereas Parsippany spreads out very nicely. Fun closing fact: Went to leave last night and the traffic light never changed. The car in front of me gave up after a couple of minutes and went to the other driveway. I just made a right turn and U-turned. Something went bad on Essex County's side, I'm absolutely not holding that one against the supermarket. But it sealed the deal for me. The verdict: Continue west to the Parsippany location.
