Kroger's has been one of my convenient lunch and breakfast places, and it looks like the bakery has been replaced with other market foods. I loved the bagels and donuts they used to have, and it is always a treat for me along with an Arizona, Palmer's iced tea, or an energy drink. They replaced the bagels with Einstein bagels, and donuts seem to be Knapp donuts. I loathe both brands, and I am very much bummed by this change. I stop here at several locations because my job is all over the three metro counties. I will skip it from now on and currently out looking for a new bagel joint all over the place. I think Kroger made a mistake.

The selection of grocery food items is tremendous! I love the fresh baked cinnamon rolls from the bakery - so many options here. Fruit and veggie selection is wonderful. There's a pharmacy and extensive pet supply area. There are regular checkout counters and an extensive number of self checkout stations. I keep going back multiple times a week because shopping here is fast and easy.

Great selection and prices of items, well organized and easy to see. The wine section here is tremendous. It seems bigger than most, and I really liked that. I cruised through but didn't buy any. The freezer section had tons of stock and the aisles were wide and easy to navigate. They also have household items like detergent, toys and other items as well. The checkout area had a large selection of self service stations and registers with employees. Since I only had a few items, I did self checkout. The parking lots a bit tight, but doable. You just might have to circle a minute before finding a space. There's lot of good things about this place being here. I don't come to Lake Orion a lot, but I do occasionally cruise through here from time to time, and never really saw a grocery store (outside of stupid Kroger) in the area. When I think of pollo and carne asada I imagine well spiced, cut up grilled steak and chicken. I got 2 X 20 lbs trays of tasteless tan and brown pellets. No sign of browning, grill marks or taste. Some might argue it wasn't really meat. Just ruined the stuff... Guacamole was good, the flour tortillas and chips were pretty good, but when the main protein(s) suck, the event can't really recover. I have experienced many third world country grocery stores that put this place to shame. Whole Foods should be ashamed to have such a horrendous store in their portfolio. Literally half the items I went specifically to Whole Foods for were wiped out, and the store is disorganized with boxes of stuff strewn all around the place. And so many empty shelves. We are certainly in trouble if this is an example of where this country, or at least Michigan, is going. Simply horrible and upsetting to see.

She repeated that I had to select "gift wrap" during online checkout, but from a customer's perspective, after waiting in a long line, receiving 10 gift items stuffed into a small shopping bag was extremely disappointing. I understand store policies, but I expected at least a simple wrapping option or even an extra shopping bag. The way I was spoken to and dismissed made me feel very uncomfortable, and I couldn't help feeling that I was being treated differently--possibly because I'm Asian. I definitely won't be returning after this experience, and I regret not asking for the employee's name (short-haired lady with not-so-fluent English).
