The cashier immediately complimented my hair before starting business. I was taking back an item I bought for the holidays that I didn't end up using (with tags still attached). I thought I had the correct receipt but it wasn't. The cashier asked if I wanted to check with my phone number. Unfortunately, nothing showed up. She asked if store credit was ok and I said of course! There were some issues with the system being slow looking up the item. The cashier was super sweet and kept apologizing. (Girl I'm fine, you're helping ME!) I gave her my ID, everything went swimmingly and she made sure to remind me that I will need to show my ID whenever I use the store credit. Honestly, who really goes to Family Dollar for food? Their snacks aren't that bad, but I wouldn't go there to do my weekly shopping. I dropped by to check out their selection on Christmas decorations and was pleasantly surprised at their ornaments and various other Christmas knick-knacks; I even bought my mini-Christmas tree there. Service has always been quick and friendly when I'm there. Granted, I only go at night, so I can't really speak for the daytime rush (if it exists).

Even with the appearance of chaos most things are always well-categorized so it is easy to determine what aisle or section of the store that you might find an item. The only interaction that I tend to have with employees would be at check-out. I don't think that I've ever seen anyone that works there walking around or stocking. I've never had a bad experience shopping here. Finally, most of the time the prices are reasonable, and you get what you pay for. I have noticed that sometimes bank and credit cards will have a cashback or discount option when shopping at Ollie's. Finally, the store is located in a shopping plaza that share a reasonably sized parking lot with other stores and a Buffalo Wild Wings.

The second reason to go to Five Below is the other stuff- the inexpensive pool toys or shirts or cords needed for your phone or tablet. This isn't a high end store; it's not Brookstone or Macy's- you get the essentials which will last you enough time and save you money. That's what's most important, right? Five Below also has a fantastic variety of stocking stuffers and other small gifts. The biggest complaint I have seen/heard is the lack of cashiers- it's pretty much self checkout. But, I don't think that's a minus. They have only so much room, and they do still have a knowledge staff who can help you. Plus, if they had cashiers; they would raise the prices. Nobody wants that.

Quite possibly the best place around to get precious metals and various vintage/modern coins and other such items. My son is getting into collecting silver and each person here, whenever we come in, is eager to teach him what to look for, what the best deal for his money is, and answer any and all questions he has in this hobby. I'm thankful for people like these who are not only in business to better their own lives, but to pass their knowledge onto others and get the next generation in on things. Dollar bills, coin sets, circulated, uncirculated, foreign, novelty-- all things you can buy here and all at a good price from an honest seller.
