Round Rock Tx This was the worst experience I've ever had shopping.. and I don't shop often…read more.. I went into DDs Discounts today, this was my first time shopping in the store. i spent 165$ , not realizing I hadn't had enough money for my purchases in my bank, the charge covered was 120$ after running my debit card, there was a remaining balance of 46$ I naturally wanted to put back some items, I hadn't had enough cash on me to cover the remaining balance, instead of the cashier taking off items, she refused to take off items, stated they don't do that at this store.. I was baffled because I never heard of that, I don't shop often.. the manager JESSICA MEDINA walks up and first thing she says is " first off loose the tone.. " she directed that at me, mind you I had no tone, I was just simply trying to figure out how to complete the transaction ... they actually had me leave the store, without anything... I kinda felt robbed at this point because I just ran my debit card for 120$ had no receipt of purchase no merchandise ... I went home without the items, to go get the remaining balance. I live 1.5 miles away from the store I went back to finish the transaction I did complete my purchases... later that evening at 9pm I look at my receipt I was charged for everything on the receipt.... I noticed I'm missing items. I went back to the store again... they had my missing items stuffed behind counter. My question is why were they taken out!! I had to go back again to retrieve these items at 920pm... my question is why were these items taken out?? they knew I was going back to finish the transaction!!!!! they even said they will hold the items behind the counter until I return with remaining money owed...the items were already placed all together in a very large plastic bag... I watched as the cashier rangup my items and placed them into the bag... I actually left the store went home to get cash for the remaining balance owed since they couldn't take off items , I went back and the Lady manager JESSICA MEDINA was rude yet again to me . I don't understand how I am in the wrong??? all I was trying to do was complete the transaction.. This lady Manager JESSICA has the worst customer service skills. She's rude, and disrespectful, short tempered, and literally walks around the store like she's the absolute shit.. lady you got one thing right you are shit!! Rubbish!! Horrible!!!! when I walked into the store that afternoon I even told the front staff it was my first time shopping at DDs Discounts i was very bubbly and polite i was happy and excited about finding a new inexpensive place to shop... I left feeling very confused, I felt robbed and disrespected.... I will never shop there again, I might consider going back if management changes, but I'll have no way of knowing that unless I go back... and after this experience... I doubt I will...

I used to be a Manager on Duty at the Round Rock DD's DISCOUNTS, and at one point, we had a…read morefantastic team. Unfortunately, upper management completely ruined the store culture. First, they hired a Store Director, Tasha Scott, but failed to train her properly. Despite the lack of support, she worked incredibly hard and put in extra hours. Instead of helping her, the upper managers, Bobby and Anthony, constantly belittled her--often right in front of customers and employees. The disrespect was awful to witness, and she eventually quit because of it. After she left, store operations fell apart. Management then brought in Vanessa Justice and Sasha from the Springdale store in Austin. They brought a horrible attitude with them, talking down to employees and customers like they were children. They also used foul language constantly throughout the business. On top of the verbal disrespect, they had terrible scheduling practices. If your shift ended at 2:00 PM, they would drop a new task on you at the last minute and claim you couldn't leave until it was done. I have children to take care of, and this was a part-time job for me, so I refused to stay past my scheduled hours. A job title doesn't give anyone the right to disrespect others. I walked away from this job due to the toxic environment, and many other good employees did the same. Avoid this location until corporate fixes its leadership.

For more than half of my time in the store I continuously had multiple workers staring me down, and then two just following me around multiple times which gives me the feeling that I'm being looked at like I'm going to steal. This normally wouldn't bother me because I'm not a thief but it bothers me because I've given zero reason for anyone to be looking at me or following me like this. It creates a nasty narrative, and a hostile environment. Until you've been given a reason to need to follow someone, don't... I'm an indecisive person, but I'm also a gay male in a thrift store playing gospel music, so it's bad enough I already feel like I'm not wanted here but to follow me around and look at me while talking to co workers multiple times doesn't put a good feeling on a customer. And there's a chance that maybe this wasn't the case but I'd be an easy target. There's not a huge selection of men's clothes or shoes and if there is it's mixed up with the women's so I look in ever aisle and I feel like I got stares because I was in the women's aisles but there was a plethora of women's things in the men's aisle so maybe they just need to reorganize? The prices on some things seems incredibly capitalist, I see a whole couch for $19.99 which is a great price, but then I'm looking at a pair of shoes for $24.... Where's the relief in that LOL I have to admit they have some pretty good items, but the prices seem greedy. I don't know how much of the proceeds go to disaster relief but if it's not 100% then it seems pretty disturbing, prices are getting to be like Goodwills and there's no good will in that ‍ All in all, this truly is a great store but this was not a good experience for me so I may seek another store.

There used to be a Target but RIP. So Ross it is. Ross is at the bottom tier of these type of stores. If you remember K-mart the interior is bright and florescent. Everything is on racks. It's one of the larger Ross stores I've been in. I found some socks that I needed to buy and went to the amusement park line to the cashier. Here you can find lots of impulse snacks and gadgets. These stores always get busy mid afternoon just when your thinking your missing all the people picking up stuff after work. They had one cashier but the line started to get long so they opened another cash register. Ross has always been the lower end of the big 3 and they've always had security guards at the door even in the late 1900s. This one was slightly different as they inspect your bags and look at your receipt before leaving - I suggest going to Melrose nearby or drive further out to a Marshall's or TJ Maxx if you can so you don't have to deal with the feeling like you are in prison.

It looks like someone picked up the Ross, gave it a shake, and tossed it back down. It's incredibly disorganized with items spilling out of the isles, the restrooms are in terrible condition, and it's very messy.

I didn't think anything of it - - figured I wouldn't buy anything for a buck, I mean WTF? Well little did I know what I was in for.......I walked in a sober Dollar Tree Virgin and walked out 2 hours later a bonafide Dollar Tree Crack Addict w/ 8 bags of Dollar Crack. Damn I'm in trouble now. Everything is just a buck, no gimmicks or mark-ups. Not everything is a great buy, some stuff you can get at HEB or Walgreens (on sale) for the same price, and usually a better name brand product. But you can get tons of canned foods and odd stuff like roasted red peppers in a jar, Ocean Spray 32oz Cranberry Juice, Ty-D-Bowl toilet cleaner, an array of Mexican canned foods (Rotel tomatoes, black beans), soft soap pump refills, Spaghetti O's, and all the Green Giant canned veggies your heart desires (green beans, corn, etc). Some drawbacks at the Dollar Tree Crack House: - loud children are common, although the staff uses the PA system to provide a warning. - quality and the unknown: some brands you never heard of, looks good, you buy it, try it, and that's when you realize why you never heard of it and why it's here, because it tastes like sh*t. What sucks even worse is that you made an impulse decision to buy several of them since it's "only a buck" and now you're stuck w/ 4 cans of shi*t that won't sell for peanuts on Ebay. I'm talking some ripoff version of Chef Boyardee pasta in a can that's bland as hell and is full of sodium and fat, and Chicken & Dumplings Soup that I wouldn't even feed to my doggy. I get the Dollar Tree Crack Craving every few weeks and have been back a few times. And like every drug they say - - you're always going back to experience that first high, but it's never the same or as good. Well that's exactly what's happened, same crack, same stuff, same crap, and it kinda gets old after a while. Not as exciting as my first time but at least I know where to get some soft soap pump refills and roasted red peppers in a jar for just a buck.
