I went to Aldi the other day after a long walk at Lake Pflugerville. I've been to this location…read moremultiple times prior to this most recent visit. You need to know that if you want a cart, you need a quarter. You put the quarter into the slot to "release" the cart lock and then when you are done, if you return the cart to its spot, you get your quarter back. The store has what I would say is the typical Aldi selection - more than a Trader Joe's, but less than an HEB. The prices are typically less than other stores assuming you aren't brand name specific in your tastes. The staff are the quickest at the check out ever - true to Aldi's reputation. Just know that you'll be bagging your groceries yourself at the counter beyond the cash registers as there is no time to bag them at the checkout line. The store has wide aisles and while it may not be the most well organized space, the signage is clear about what is where. Overall, I would definitely visit this store when in the general area.

I have become an ALDI! Yes, in ALDI! I didn't know about this grocery store until a few years ago…read more It was when I moved to Houston that I discovered ALDI. But I didn't get the chance to shop there. Fast forward, I was in Georgia for a few months, went inside, and fell completely in love. It is such a great grocery store. So when I came to Austin, I just assumed they didn't have one, but to my surprise, I discovered the ALDI sign as I was driving to another store. I find my go-to and mostly a variety of food that I love. I find other items I haven't tried before, but now do. They also have the best selection of meats, veggies, and fruit. The freshest of fruit, I must add. I love the wide selection of candies, crackers, and cookies. My favorite is the miniature Reese's cups and the fruit gummies. I like that when I can't find an item, someone is there to help. I like the layout of the store; it's very open with maybe 4 to 5 aisles. I like that they are very friendly at the cash register.

Prices are what the typical HEB prices are so no surprises there. It's B I G. Did I mention there's a True Texas BBQ right at the left entrance of the store? You can order via several kiosks and order online for pickup or just eat and then shop. Lines aren't too long either. They have multiple ways to checkout: the usual self-checkout 10 items or less, self-checkout 25 items or less, and the usual stand-in-line conveyor belt style. They sometimes have sample stations just depends which day you go (idk their schedule). Overall a very new and nice place to shop-eat-chill. I love my local HEB

The Mac and cheese was as close to the version I make at home that all love. It was very creamy and hot and fresh. I also ordered the onion rings and was surprised at how crispy there were. I had low expectations because most usually miss the mark for me. These were very good and will get them every time I return. The wait was a little long at 12:30 but very much worth it IMO. The restaurant has nice seating and several TVs to distract while waiting for your food. I need to remember not to go to the store around lunchtime because it will be hard for me to not eat here every time now.

It's funny how life surprises you-kind of like finding out the new H-E-B across town has that one…read moreelusive item your regular stores just can't seem to stock. So off I went to order curbside, and wow, what an experience. First of all, curbside here is chef's kiss. They've got their own dedicated area off to the side, away from the parking lot chaos. No fighting with other customers who think your reserved spot is fair game. Nope, this is a curbside oasis. There are plenty of spots, and the in-and-out process is smoother than a perfectly ripe avocado. The store itself looks great from the outside--pristine, shiny, and promising. I haven't been inside yet (I mean, why bother when curbside is this good?), but I've heard the Texas BBQ inside is legendary. And now I'm torn: do I break my streak of grocery-store efficiency and go in for brisket, or do I stay loyal to my curbside kingdom? Decisions, decisions. In conclusion, this H-E-B has me contemplating a long-term relationship. I might just keep coming here, even if it's a bit of a drive. Who knew I'd get so sentimental about parking spots and stocked shelves? Next thing you know, I'll be writing sonnets about their tortilla factory.

The fresh produce section is especially impressive -- the fruits and vegetables are beautifully stocked, and the colors are so vibrant that it honestly makes shopping more enjoyable. You can tell they put effort into keeping everything looking fresh and appealing. They also have a great variety of items, from everyday groceries to specialty foods and personal care products. It's one of those places where you can come in for just one thing and end up walking out with a few extra goodies because so many things look tempting. One of my favorite sections here is the flower area. They always have such cute and lovely arrangements, perfect for gifts or just to brighten up your home. We came this time specifically to pick up a birthday cake for my wife, and we're really glad we did. We found a nice small cake, and it turned out to be absolutely delicious -- light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It was a perfect way to celebrate. Overall, this Whole Foods is a great spot for quality groceries, treats, and little special finds. We'll definitely be back for more yummy stuff in the future. Cheers!
