When ordering for an event all but a cheese tray and dessert were hot foods. Two of these hot foods were sandwiches, ordered specifically under the "hot sandwiches" section of the catering menu. When the food was delivered they did not have any chafing dishes with them, when questioned we were told we did not order them. Ok, we were NEVER asked if they would be needed. After some discussion they went back and did get them. Now we at this point were a half hour into the event, when they returned they were asked where are the buns for the sandwiches, to which they again replied you did not order them. Now in my book when ordering a SANDWICH it comes with some sort of BREAD. Again we were NEVER asked/told the buns do not come with the SANDWICHES would you like to order them as well. Needless to say we had to make a mad scramble to send someone to purchase buns 45-60 minutes into a 2 hour event where people were waiting to eat. When calling the store afterwards to speak to the manager she was less than helpful and somewhat condescending. I asked about a discount for the problems, was to receive a call back the next day and lo and behold it is now 3 weeks later and no phone call but they did send the bill with no discount!

Please consider sharing your findings with the BBB, Ohio Weights & Measures, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Ohio Attorney General. Kroger, as a near monopoly, has a duty and obligation to provide honest and fair pricing practices. They are knowingly and willingly doing the opposite of this. The burden of having to audit receipts, to this degree, should NOT be required on there consumers part. This issue is well known and has even been brought to light by investigative reporting from Consumer Reports in conjunction with The Fern.

We were visiting from out of town, and I needed to be back in my town about 60 miles away for a meeting first thing in the morning. A friend helped me pump up the tire and I took it to the Wal-Mart store in Port Clinton. Even though it was after 5 pm , the counter representative got a quick consult from the guys in the back, and said they could do a repair before the department closed at 7 (it was a Saturday). The counter man was polite, thorough, showed concern for my situation, and provided detail on what the mechanic said. Also described the repair and gave an estimate. I received updates on the status of my repair by text. Just before seven we returned to the store, the tire was fixed, and the whole job cost me just 16 bucks. Again, the counter man was friendly and courteous, thanked us for letting Wal Mart help, and send us along. The whole experience was outstanding. Props to the great mechanic and customer interface.

Always very clean and organized inside and the people who work there are helpful and unlike many other grocery stores [looking at you, Walmart] they don't have their workers stocking shelves and obstructing customers at peak times, in the middle of the day, at least in my experience. If you pull around, they also offer a service to load up your vehicle with your purchases upon request and the deli/bakery are great, The store also has a restaurant in the building which I've heard is great, but I've never been there myself.
