When you complain, they say shop elsewhere or downright ask you to leave. Please be cognizant as a LOT of people are getting ripped off, unknowingly. Please consider sharing your findings with the BBB, Ohio Weights & Measures, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Ohio Attorney General. Kroger, as a near monopoly, has a duty and obligation to provide honest and fair pricing practices. They are knowingly and willingly doing the opposite of this. The burden of having to audit receipts, to this degree, should NOT be required on there consumers part. This issue is well known and has even been brought to light by investigative reporting from Consumer Reports in conjunction with The Fern.

It has many of the same items that you would find in a grocery store like milk and stuff in the coolers, but laundry soap, bar soap, and toiletries, too, but also other things like picture frames, clothing and an assortment of school supplies like pens, pencils, notebooks, and filler paper, among other things. Whenever I'm back in Shelby, I come to this store several times because they have things that I need or forgot to buy. I use it more like a convenience store a lot whenever I'm in Shelby. We were visiting from out of town, and I needed to be back in my town about 60 miles away for a meeting first thing in the morning. A friend helped me pump up the tire and I took it to the Wal-Mart store in Port Clinton. Even though it was after 5 pm , the counter representative got a quick consult from the guys in the back, and said they could do a repair before the department closed at 7 (it was a Saturday). The counter man was polite, thorough, showed concern for my situation, and provided detail on what the mechanic said. Also described the repair and gave an estimate. I received updates on the status of my repair by text. Just before seven we returned to the store, the tire was fixed, and the whole job cost me just 16 bucks. Again, the counter man was friendly and courteous, thanked us for letting Wal Mart help, and send us along. The whole experience was outstanding. Props to the great mechanic and customer interface.

Always very clean and organized inside and the people who work there are helpful and unlike many other grocery stores [looking at you, Walmart] they don't have their workers stocking shelves and obstructing customers at peak times, in the middle of the day, at least in my experience. If you pull around, they also offer a service to load up your vehicle with your purchases upon request and the deli/bakery are great, The store also has a restaurant in the building which I've heard is great, but I've never been there myself.
