Fun spot! Plenty of options. If can be tricky because they don't tell you how long to cook certain things. Everything was delicious though. Everything is $2 now instead of $1

I thought it was ok and as a Filipino, each piece wasn't even a dollar in which I could definitely get it for cheaper. Be ware though there's the Filipino tamale that I had an allergic reaction to because I didn't know it had peanut. I'm not sure if it was cross contamination but I would not go here again. Service and ambiance was ok.

Nice place with authentic Filipino food. It's a quick in and out. I came on a Sunday right when they opened. There was a line but it went by quick. This was my first time, so I just copied what everyone else was doing. You simply pick out your food on a stick, buy drinks or other things, and then put your sticks on the grill to cook. A lot of what they had reminded me of my childhood. Just like I remembered it. They have a huge variety of drinks, food, and snacks to choose from. You sit and eat outside with Filipino music blasting. I love it. There's plenty of seating for the family. The service was great. I want to come back and try other yummy options.

Wow, I love this place. It's the most authentic Filipino street food spot you can get. From the food to the ambiance, this place brings you to the Philippines. It's basically heaven if you're Filipino like me, and if you're not Filipino, it's a great way to try yummy authentic street food! It's self service where you go in line to pick your skewers, pay, then grill them to your liking outside. Each skewer is about $2 each. It's a really popular place so there's likely a longish wait but it's totally worth it. The bbq sauce they add at checkout was sweet and yummy, I would recommend adding it to everything. After grilling, the skewers were delicious and exactly what I wanted. Not only do they sell skewers but almost everything I could think of: mango with bagoong, fruit salad, buko pandan, turon, carioca, gulaman, fish ball (the ones you would get from the street cart in the PH), and a lot more! The service is also amazing. Waiting in line and eating outside, their social media manager goes around talking to people on a mic and making sure everyone is having a good time. At checkout, they are happy to help you and grab anything you need. They also have people outside monitoring the grill and stepping in if you need help or the stick accidentally catches on fire. Just the feeling of sitting outside surrounded by Filipinos and Filipino food lovers and eating food from our childhood, just made me and my group feel so nice. We left repeating "Wow, I love being Filipino." This is definitely a destination spot for those who love Filipino street food. I would 200% recommend going here.

I really enjoy Filipino street food. Done right, you not only get some of their traditional flavors but you get to try some delicacies you can't find outside of the Philippines. It was packed that evening. We stayed for at least two hours, taking in the experience. Visiting you want to try your traditional proteins, chicken, pork and barbecue chicken. If you're feeling adventurous try the dried squid, chicken skin, pork isaw, pork skin and beef liver. Some of my favorites would include the vegetable ukay, kewk kwek and had I known I would've had their Balut just because! This will be another spot I'd come to visit again when I'm in LA. The outdoor seating is lively, patrons are enjoy Ming their skewers, the smell of barbecue is in the air. What's not to love?!

Got some lunch here today. This is my first experience here. I was lucky to find a parking spot just before the lunch time rush. It was moderately busy with to go orders and to eat there in the small outside eating area. This more like Filipino street food kind of vibe. Employees were friendly. The food in the trays were not labeled on what it was nor the prices. It was a bit confusing for me. The two pork and one chicken skewers looked like a good portion, but not as flavorful and tender for me. The pancit was good. My final bill to go order was $32.00. This was for three meat skewers, pancit and a small order of pork. Too expensive. Rating: 2 1/2 stars

First time here after seeing people rave about this place from Instagram. My parents and I came up from San Diego to do some errands nearby and realized Dollar Hits was about 5-10 minutes away -- of course I had to go! I said.. tara na! I was primarily interested in eating isaw & other street foods but came to find out, they begin cooking that at 4pm and my parents were there at 1pm so we just ended up ordering the following: 1. Kare-Kare (10/10) 2. Chicken BBQ Skewer 4 piece (6/10) 3. Pancit Palabok Bowl (4/10) 4. Pork Sinigang (7/10) 5. Karioka (10/10) 6. Halo-Halo (9/10) Reasons behind my ratings: I rated the kare-kare 10/10 since it was packed with flavor, the veggies were not soggy, great consistency and the bagoong was sweet with a hint of spice and the usual salty bite. Perfection! The chicken bbq was a good portion, but lacked flavor and was a bit dry imo. Pancit Palabok was the worst I have ever ate in my life! I love palabok but not theirs. The intro flavor was sweet and the end flavor after chewing tasted like they cooked it days ago and wasn't fresh. HARD PASS. I do not recommend. Pork Sinigang - serving size was small, flavor was okay.... just wish they served a bit more so the value would be worth it. Karioka dessert - best I've ever had (from a restaurant) it was perfectly crunchy on the outside and perfectly chewy inside and best of all - it wasn't too sweet!!! :) Halo-halo, it was great - def can share amongst 3 people. I just thought it was a bit TOO sweet. As far as ambiance - it felt very home-y inside. Nothing fancy, but just right. They have sodas, water, juices and more as drink options. The music was pleasant! And the staff was nice. Would I drive here from San Diego just for their food? Prob not... only if I had errands I'm doing in the area and craving Pinoy food. All in all - it's a solid restaurant. Parking can be tight -- street parking is available, however you pay have to pay a fee.

SO GOOD! Came here on a sunday night and it was very busy. Buy skewers and other foods inside and grill yourself outside. Street parking

Wanna feel like you're in Asia with the street food? This is the right spot to come. Parking down the street is your best bet! Get yourself in line to pick out whatever your heart desires for those pre cooked meat skewers. Different types of skewers and desserts/fruits and drinks inside and pay. Once done paying, go outside and spilt up. One person finds a table/ seats and the other find an open grill and start grilling! Fun date night. Cooking and chilling outside. The smokes of the food hitting your way. It could get crowded so it might take a while to get your food to get warmed up and grilled. Bring your own wet wipes and be ready to grub. You can also buy skewers and bring it home to grill during the morning. The grills are set out in the afternoon/evenings only.

I tried Dollar Hits for the first time and loved it! There's a large variety of skewers to choose from. All the meat is already cooked, so all you need to do is put them on the grill to warm them up. My personal favorite skewers were the longanisa and pork. You must say "Yes" when they ask if you want sauce on the skewers; it adds another kick of flavor. The experience is self service. You pick your skewers and grill them yourself. I enjoyed the ambiance of Filipino music playing and you can tell everyone is having a good time.

It don't get more Filipino than this. lol Filipino street food in LA? Pull up. Haha it's always busy on the weekends! I used to come here when they first started from the house to the food truck! These guys came a long way! They have grills outside so u can experience Filipino street food as if u were in the pinas. I've never been but I'm guessing it's the same lol GO GET U SUMMM DOLLAR HITS!

    Martha B.

If you haven't tried Filipino food I definitely recommend this place. It's a great way to try new food on a skewer. The atmosphere is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and nice and there's a lady who speaks on the microphone. She interacts with all the guests. I think that's pretty cool.

On a cold Wednesday afternoon, my partner and I had some time to kill before meeting some friends in ktown. We decided to check out dollar hits for some Filipino skewers and it was an awesome experience. When you enter you see a huge selection of various skewers that you choose and then you pay for them before heading outside to the little grills. Then it is up to you to grill everything to your liking. The food wasn't amazing, but the vibes were. The food was definitely good, but it was very easy to burn your skewers so it can be very fun standing around flipping your skewers. Everyone there is also so friendly and there is a strong sense of community as everyone is cooking together. I loved this experience and if I could I would frequent this place often.

The kind of spot where you walk in and immediately think, Yep... this is where you bring someone you're trying to impress. The ambience hits that perfect balance of modern, moody, and stylish, a little sexy, a little artsy, and fully date‑night certified. Service was on point the entire night, for my experience, maybe cause they know I was was going to tip very heavily. Ha ha ha. Which ai did by the way! Staff was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious. The team here knows the menu inside and out, and they guide you like they're curating an experience rather than just taking an order. Drinks topped off, plates cleared smoothly, pacing perfect. High‑end feel without the high‑end attitude. Let's talk about the food. Filipino Fusion Done With Swagger Ribeye Salpicao, This dish is straight-up dangerous. Tender ribeye cubes seared with garlicky, buttery goodness, the kind of salpicao that makes you rethink every bite you have. Rich, savory, and addicting. If you don't guard your plate, someone at the table will steal a piece. "Because I know I would!" Rockfish Pritong, it was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and seasoned like someone's Filipino auntie whispered the secrets of life into the batter. Bright, punchy flavors with that perfect crunch. Definitely a sleeper hit. Crispy Duck Pancit, This one is wild, pancit with a crispy duck twist that somehow feels both comforting and elevated. The noodles soak up all that savory duck richness, and the crispy skin on top. Wow, a moment of silence for how good that bite is. Papaya Salad, so fresh, bright, and refreshing. A perfect palate reset between the heavier dishes. Crunchy, citrusy, and balanced, the kind of salad that actually earns its spot on the table. Grilled Eggplant Salad, smoky, silky eggplant with a char that tastes like it came straight off a backyard grill in Manila. Light but flavorful, and a great contrast to the richer plates. Pasta Palabok, a true Filipino classic reimagined. Creamy, savory palabok sauce wrapped around pasta instead of noodles, bold move, but it works. The textures are luxurious, and the flavors stay true to the original. Tare Tare Tamale, definitely one of the most creative dishes of the night. A fusion tamale with tare flavors that hit sweet, salty, and umami all at once. Soft masa, rich filling, and a flavor combo that makes you pause mid‑bite. "Mmmm hmmm!" Hamachi, so clean, fresh, and beautifully plated. The kind of hamachi that melts instantly and makes you feel fancy even if you're wearing sneakers. Of course I had my dress shoes on. It has bright citrus notes and just the right amount of heat. Sampa nails the high‑end, artsy vibe without feeling stiff. Trendy lighting, modern décor, and a soundtrack that keeps the energy fun. Perfect for date night, anniversaries, or when you want to look like you know the cool spots in LA. Sampa is Filipino fusion with confidence, bold flavors, gorgeous plating, and an atmosphere that elevates the whole night. If you're trying to impress your significant other, celebrate something special, or just treat yourself to a killer meal in the Arts District, this place delivers. 4.5 stars. Sorry,…read moreguys - I'm still catching up on my reviews and am kicking myself for failing to write this before Spoon & Pork permanently shut its doors. This was an unforgettable eatery. During our trip to Los Angeles in May, 2023, Wendell invited Jay, Z and me to meet up with Veda and him for a late lunch at 2 PM at one of their favourite Filipino restaurants, Spoon & Pork, on Sunday, the 7th. Spoon & Pork, which originated as a food truck, was a restaurant that specialized in Filipino comfort food with a contemporary twist. They offered a fresh, inventive fusion of the flavours of the Philippines with modern sophistication. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood, Spoon & Pork was a cozy boutique eatery on bustling Sunset Boulevard that greeted guests with a neon pig sign at their front entrance. No private lot on this busy street, so finding nearby parking was a bit challenging and although the charming spot offered both indoor and al fresco dining, seating was also limited. The tropical-inspired dining room with warm wood accents created an effortlessly cool and relaxed atmosphere that felt both modern and rooted in tradition. Upon entry, guests were welcomed by the aroma of sizzling meats and fragrant spices which alluded to the culinary journeys to come. The food at Spoon & Pork wasn't exactly what one's nanay (mom) or lola (grandma) would cook. Celebrating fresh takes on the richness of Filipino cuisine, the menu was an invitation to indulge in unexpected, compelling twists on a thoughtfully curated selection of traditional dishes, infusing familiar flavours into new forms. Below are what we ordered: beef tapa ($25) - MASARAP (DELICIOUS)! Of all the dishes that we ordered, this was the winner of them all as the succulent meat packed a punch of flavour. adobo tofu ($14) - One of Wendell's regular orders, this notable plant-based option, was a tasty, innovative take on the Philippine classic that balanced tradition with modern creativity. laing ($9) - From their platito, small plates section, this bowl of coconut braised taro leaves was rich and creamy deliciousness, but, yes, mini in portion size. garlic rice ($4/$7) - Ordering the garlic rice over plain jasmine rice was a no brainer. Thoroughly infused with the savouriness of the many bits of garlic, this rice perfectly paired with all of the other dishes. bistek ($28) - The skirt steak was very tender and the sauce perfectly balanced the tanginess from the calamansi juice with the savoury soy sauce. lechon kawali ($23) - Another reimagined classic dish featuring crispy, golden pork belly with crunchy skin and tender, flavourful meat inside. The dish was complemented by a tangy, pickled red cabbage that enhanced the crispy texture and added a refreshing contrast. This mastery of flavour and texture tickled Z's tastebuds and won him over. Before this day, Z was never a fan of Filipino food. Everything tasted boldly rich and every bit intensely intoxicated our taste buds. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. What a remarkably epicurean feast and delightful experience we enjoyed! We're super bummed that Spoon & Pork permanently closed shoppe. Z and I were hoping to return for another tasty meal. Truly, a worthy spot this place was to hit up for an impressively creative taste of the Philippines in Los Angeles.

As a second-generation Filipino-American, I would be lying if I didn't say that I had rather high expectations for Spoon & Pork, but as always, I try my best to keep any biases aside & curb any + all expectations. That said, Spoon & Pork is quite the anomaly. What I mean by that is that you have the hallmarks of any typical Filipino restaurant: simple interiors with modest decor, & beyond hospitable wait staff - especially our host, but the techniques & presentations of their dishes are something that you'd find at the highest of fine dining establishments. The irony is kind of nice because I don't feel so guilty about rocking a simple t-shirt + jeans, while enjoying what I'd expect to served at an establishment along Rodeo Dr. FOOD: Appetizer Lumpia Shanghai - 8.0 / 10 Perhaps the most famous of Filipino appetizers / street foods. I pride myself of bringing trays of these myself to any gathering because who doesn't love crispy, crunchy, meat-stuffed egg rolls that you can pop into your mouth? Here, the only real difference is that the individual pieces are longer that what you'd typically find. The pork + veggie dumpling is the same as elsewhere as well as your sweet + sour sauce. Nothing exactly to write home about, but delicious nonetheless Side Adobo Rice - 7.7 / 10 I feel like I've had this before & even made it myself. Simply put, imagine mixing plain, white rice into a cauldron of adobo broth. The very small pieces of meat are nice, but again, it's we're not exactly re-inventing the wheel here. It is a very nice upgrade vs. ordering your standard issue steamed (white) rice. Entrées Tapa - 9.0 / 10 A favorite of mine growing up as a kid. But whereas my mother would fry thin strips of beef, almost to a dehydrated crisp (think thicker, moister beef jerky), their rendition is quite different. Heartier chunks of premium quality beef, generously swimming in a broth of soy, vinegar, & garlic. This was personally my favorite dish of the night & a nice interpretation of a Filipino staple. The atchara (papaya, carrots, and red bell peppers, in tangy brine) provided a nice + refreshing counterpoint. Adobo Pork Belly - 8.9 / 10 If you ask anyone who knows anything about Filipino cuisine, the word "adobo" will almost always come to mind. But "Filipino style" adobo is quite different in meaning to its Spanish counterpart. In this case, we're referring to the classic preparation of any dish in a mixture of vinegar, soy sauce peppercorns, garlic, & bay leaves. Your boy definitely love pork belly (fatty unsmoked bacon of steroids), but the delicate pieces of meat smothered in the classic sauce was something of a revelaltion. I honestly didn't know how I haven't stumbled upon Pork Belly in Adobo (sauce) sooner than now. Highly recommended if you want to they the most classical Filipino flavor but with a modern take. As far as parking goes, availability is limited to the rather small number of spaces that they share with the fish taco shack immediately adjacent. But metered parking in aplenty. PRO TIP: Having actually lived about less than 100 yards away from this very restaurant (I moved away 1 year before they opened this location), drive up Westerly Terrace & you'll likely find some non-designated residential parking spots & just walk on over. Spoon & Pork are doing some very innovative things in Filipino cuisine. Combining modern techniques to traditional flavors. This place definitely deserves your business!

When we walked in, there was a full jazz band made up of what looked like high school students playing. Despite there only being a few families in the audience(presumably their parents), the energy was infectious with loud whoops and clapping every time someone finished a solo. I didn't know any of these kids but I was cheering the entire time. Everyone, including the other customers were very friendly. The food itself was incredible, super affordable with huge portions. Every dish we tried was so delicious, we couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. I ordered the Pork Sisig and it could've easily fed 3 people alone. Both of my roommates also ordered their own entrees and the portions were huge. Definitely a restaurant for sharing. The service was fantastic, the server was refilling my water cup every few minutes and incredibly attentive. While looking for a quick meal we came upon a Filipino feast with live music, a super positive atmosphere, and leftovers that will last us for days. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

I grew up eating and seem to be consistent each time I order. And they always provide friendly and professional customer service on the phone or in person. I highly recommend their Lumpia Shanghai and I am honestly pretty impressed with their Kare Kare, which is often a hit or miss at other locations, but here it is consistent both in flavor and portions. I ate here in person once years ago and usually do takeout. The ambience though is very nice and intimate and cozy... And I understand that they have live music from time to time. I highly recommend you give them a try!

Wednesday worker plate Pork ribs…read moreBrisket Cornbread To preface this review, I ordered takeout and ate the food roughly 1 hour after and was slightly cold. The Wednesday worker plate had an assortment of meats and a chunk of cornbread, which I thought was a good way to try some of their various offerings. The barbecue chicken consisted of a leg and a wing piece, which i thought was overall fine. The shredded pork was well seasoned and moist, and the hot link pieces were very flavorful. The beef adobo was my favorite as it had a very deep and rich coconut flavor that complimented the meat. The pork ribs were very tender and juicy and had a good meaty pork flavor. The brisket was also good too. Both these meats reheated well later in the day and was still tasty! The cornbread was also exceptional and eating it, I felt it was more like a dessert but also worked well between bites. The cornbread was moist more cakey, and had a very deep sweet coconut flavor. This is the standout. Overall delicious and recommend!

We ordered four of the most ordered and highly revered items: tri tip, coconut beef adobo, smoked gouda mac, and the cornbread bibingka. * Tri tip: Ours was cold and not tender.. wasn't very flavorful either. Kinda tasted like the forgotten order that's been left drying on the counter for some time. The price is decent for an entree of tri tip though. Comes with a horseradish sauce + vinegar and bbq sauce on the side, but I didn't think any of these accompaniments were strong on their own. Made the tri tip better but not by much. * Coconut beef adobo: One of the better items. Beef chunks were melt in your mouth and the sauce was a good middle between savory and vinegary - balanced out by sweetness from the coconut. * Smoked gouda mac: Would not order again. The big shell macaroni noodles were soggy; the cheese sauce was mild in flavor, clumpy and not satisfying melty; lastly, the panko crust was just there and didn't add anything imo. * Cornbread bibingka: The other better dish of the night - very moist, muffin like crumb, and not too sweet or heavy. Portion is on the smaller side though. My bf who normally isn't a fan of cornbread enjoyed this!

I live in the Arts District and whenever I want to impress visitors - I take them to Lasita. Beautiful restaurant and and always impeccable service. Food is always amazing.   Our top favorite dishes are the Pancit Canton, Pork Belly Sisig, Chicken Inasal with the Chicken Fat Rice. There are never any leftovers. We devour everything! The Pancit Canton is one of my favorite noodle dishes - flavorful and full of chewy noods and veggies. The Pork Belly Sisig is rich and pairs perfectly with the Chicken Fat Rice. Though to be fair, everything pairs perfectly with the Chicken Fat Rice. The Chicken Inasal is juicy and tasty - I love the mojo and toyomansi dipping sauces. The desserts change - but in the past my favorites have been the Halo Halo and currently the Corn Leche Flan.   I highly recommend Lasita and will continue to return!

It's hard for me to go out for Filipino food, considering my best friend is Filipina and I eat at her family's house, her Tia's house, her other Tia's house, her other Tia's house and many of cousin's houses. So it was difficult for me to pay for 1/4 of the portion, that's not homemade and in a busy restaurant. We ordered the veggie salad ($16), the half inasal chicken ($28), Lechon ($25), branzino ($34), garlic fried rice ($6), a small single serving of spicy vinegar ($2.50), I can buy a bottle of this spicy vinegar at the store for $2.50. mango coconut sago dessert ($14). Everything was OK, I've had a lot better, but it was worth trying. It made me realize how much I appreciate my best friend and her family and her extended family. I would rather drive 15 minutes West of Chinatown to Filipino town and get homemade Filipino food, made by people who love their culture and food with better portions and quarter of the price. But I did make a promise to my friend that I would go and try it out. And no, I will not go again, ever.
