4.5 stars. Sorry, guys - I'm still catching up on my reviews and am kicking myself for failing to write this before Spoon & Pork permanently shut its doors. This was an unforgettable eatery. During our trip to Los Angeles in May, 2023, Wendell invited Jay, Z and me to meet up with Veda and him for a late lunch at 2 PM at one of their favourite Filipino restaurants, Spoon & Pork, on Sunday, the 7th. Spoon & Pork, which originated as a food truck, was a restaurant that specialized in Filipino comfort food with a contemporary twist. They offered a fresh, inventive fusion of the flavours of the Philippines with modern sophistication. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighbourhood, Spoon & Pork was a cozy boutique eatery on bustling Sunset Boulevard that greeted guests with a neon pig sign at their front entrance. No private lot on this busy street, so finding nearby parking was a bit challenging and although the charming spot offered both indoor and al fresco dining, seating was also limited. The tropical-inspired dining room with warm wood accents created an effortlessly cool and relaxed atmosphere that felt both modern and rooted in tradition. Upon entry, guests were welcomed by the aroma of sizzling meats and fragrant spices which alluded to the culinary journeys to come. The food at Spoon & Pork wasn't exactly what one's nanay (mom) or lola (grandma) would cook. Celebrating fresh takes on the richness of Filipino cuisine, the menu was an invitation to indulge in unexpected, compelling twists on a thoughtfully curated selection of traditional dishes, infusing familiar flavours into new forms. Below are what we ordered: beef tapa ($25) - MASARAP (DELICIOUS)! Of all the dishes that we ordered, this was the winner of them all as the succulent meat packed a punch of flavour. adobo tofu ($14) - One of Wendell's regular orders, this notable plant-based option, was a tasty, innovative take on the Philippine classic that balanced tradition with modern creativity. laing ($9) - From their platito, small plates section, this bowl of coconut braised taro leaves was rich and creamy deliciousness, but, yes, mini in portion size. garlic rice ($4/$7) - Ordering the garlic rice over plain jasmine rice was a no brainer. Thoroughly infused with the savouriness of the many bits of garlic, this rice perfectly paired with all of the other dishes. bistek ($28) - The skirt steak was very tender and the sauce perfectly balanced the tanginess from the calamansi juice with the savoury soy sauce. lechon kawali ($23) - Another reimagined classic dish featuring crispy, golden pork belly with crunchy skin and tender, flavourful meat inside. The dish was complemented by a tangy, pickled red cabbage that enhanced the crispy texture and added a refreshing contrast. This mastery of flavour and texture tickled Z's tastebuds and won him over. Before this day, Z was never a fan of Filipino food. Everything tasted boldly rich and every bit intensely intoxicated our taste buds. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. What a remarkably epicurean feast and delightful experience we enjoyed! We're super bummed that Spoon & Pork permanently closed shoppe. Z and I were hoping to return for another tasty meal. Upscale, refined, & re-invented Filipino dishes with familiar & traditional flavors , but in a very welcoming, chill, relaxed, & casual setting. As a second-generation Filipino-American, I would be lying if I didn't say that I had rather high expectations for Spoon & Pork, but as always, I try my best to keep any biases aside & curb any + all expectations. That said, Spoon & Pork is quite the anomaly. What I mean by that is that you have the hallmarks of any typical Filipino restaurant: simple interiors with modest decor, & beyond hospitable wait staff - especially our host, but the techniques & presentations of their dishes are something that you'd find at the highest of fine dining establishments. The irony is kind of nice because I don't feel so guilty about rocking a simple t-shirt + jeans, while enjoying what I'd expect to served at an establishment along Rodeo Dr. FOOD: Appetizer Lumpia Shanghai - 8.0 / 10 Perhaps the most famous of Filipino appetizers / street foods. I pride myself of bringing trays of these myself to any gathering because who doesn't love crispy, crunchy, meat-stuffed egg rolls that you can pop into your mouth? Here, the only real difference is that the individual pieces are longer that what you'd typically find. The pork + veggie dumpling is the same as elsewhere as well as your sweet + sour sauce. Nothing exactly to write home about, but delicious nonetheless Side Adobo Rice - 7.7 / 10 I feel like I've had this before & even made it myself. Simply put, imagine mixing plain, white rice into a cauldron of adobo broth. The very small pieces of meat are nice, but again, it's we're not exactly re-inventing the wheel here. It is a very nice upgrade vs. ordering your standard issue steamed (white) rice. Entrées Tapa - 9.0 / 10 A favorite of mine growing up as a kid. But whereas my mother would fry thin strips of beef, almost to a dehydrated crisp (think thicker, moister beef jerky), their rendition is quite different. Heartier chunks of premium quality beef, generously swimming in a broth of soy, vinegar, & garlic. This was personally my favorite dish of the night & a nice interpretation of a Filipino staple. The atchara (papaya, carrots, and red bell peppers, in tangy brine) provided a nice + refreshing counterpoint. Adobo Pork Belly - 8.9 / 10 If you ask anyone who knows anything about Filipino cuisine, the word "adobo" will almost always come to mind. But "Filipino style" adobo is quite different in meaning to its Spanish counterpart. In this case, we're referring to the classic preparation of any dish in a mixture of vinegar, soy sauce peppercorns, garlic, & bay leaves. Your boy definitely love pork belly (fatty unsmoked bacon of steroids), but the delicate pieces of meat smothered in the classic sauce was something of a revelaltion. I honestly didn't know how I haven't stumbled upon Pork Belly in Adobo (sauce) sooner than now. Highly recommended if you want to they the most classical Filipino flavor but with a modern take. As far as parking goes, availability is limited to the rather small number of spaces that they share with the fish taco shack immediately adjacent. But metered parking in aplenty. PRO TIP: Having actually lived about less than 100 yards away from this very restaurant (I moved away 1 year before they opened this location), drive up Westerly Terrace & you'll likely find some non-designated residential parking spots & just walk on over. Spoon & Pork are doing some very innovative things in Filipino cuisine. Combining modern techniques to traditional flavors. This place definitely deserves your business! read more

My sister is in town visiting and he treated me to dinner last night. First time trying Spoon and Pork. I'm a snob when it comes to Filipino food. I only eat dishes that my family's cooking. And it's always been hard to find a restaurant that can compare to the family home cooking. My standards are high when it comes to Filipino food. The food at Spoon and Pork was not bad, decent at best. The prices were reasonable. The pork belly adobo was melts in your mouth. Lumpia Shanghai was not crispy enough and the filling was sparse. Finally visited Spoon & Pork. My boys took me to dinner for Mother's Day and we all loved it. We ordered so much food and it was worth it! We ordered the oyster sauce mushrooms, adobo wings, garlic rice, lechon kawali, kare kare, pata, and bistek. I love that there's more and more Filipino restaurants popping up and introducing different foods to other cultures. I'm usually super picky when eating Filipino foods, but I'm always happy to support Filipino restaurants. Every time I go to a Filipino restaurant I try to embrace and support what they're trying to showcase because I can't lie.... No one is gonna cook like your mom. Even my boys who absolutely love my cooking always does this, but nowadays I just sit back and enjoy the food as it's a way for our people to introduce a part of our culture to the rest of the world. I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it yet. It may not be your mom's cooking, but their food is absolutely delicious and I'm proud to support this and say it is delicious Filipino food. The restaurant is pretty clean, chairs are a little uncomfortable for me, but staff is super friendly. Service is super quick and this restaurant is popular because several parties came in and out while we dined in. Parking is a little crazy, unless the locals know something I don't. As someone who enjoyed plenty of Filipino food growing up, I was looking forward to trying this place. I'd say it is modest Filipino fusion. My rating is a 3.5/5. The food was decent, but perhaps I need to venture beyond the basics to get a full sense of this restaurant's range. We had the adobo fried chicken and the lechon kawali silog. I enjoyed the familiar flavors with the fusion take, like adding pickles or preparing the chicken a different way, but the flavors (& portions) shied in comparison to the OG dishes. Would love more garlic and more sauce! Pleasant folks servicing the restaurant, not a long wait at all. The vibe in the restaurant was a bit off? The bamboo furniture and palm(?) leaf wallpaper weakly grounded the otherwise modern industrial kitchen vibe and exceptionally loud country/folk music. It is Silverlake in a decently busy area, so pay for street parking or find a neighborhood spot. read more

Good spot in a perfect location. I had a massage appointment in the area that I arrived early for with the intent on getting food. I walked a block and found Spoon & Pork and checked the menu. The patio was situated right on Sunset Blvd where you can people watch perfectly. I decided to to get the pork belly Adobo Pork Belly all day breakfast and the Freddo chilled red wine. All was good. The dish was topped with a sunny side up egg and flavorfully seasoned pork belly and rice. Service was good, price was good, food was good. I am looking forward to trying more on the menu. read more

RESERVATION Reservations are available via Open Table, but we were seated quickly for our late lunch on a weekday since the restaurant wasn't busy. The lumpia had a delightful crispiness, and the pork and shrimp filling was quite tasty. Our favorite dish was the Kare Kare; we loved the peanut-forward curry and the sweet, crunchy touch from the peanut brittle. The curry had a thicker, gravy-like consistency than what I've had from Filipino curry. However, it complemented the garlic rice beautifully. One area for improvement would be the Adobo Pork Belly. While it was cooked to perfection--soft and tender--the adobo flavor was primarily concentrated in the glaze at the bottom of the plate. It would enhance the dish if the pork itself could take on more of that rich flavor throughout. Overall, it was a great meal with just a couple of minor adjustments needed! I went here with a few friends before a show. It was a little smaller than expected and parking can be difficult on the street. I would say the food was just okay. Yes it was flavorful but the pork adobo was a little salty and the beef in peanut sauce only had a few pieces. I did enjoy the garlic though. Spoon and Pork is a gem in Silver Lake. They are serving a modern take on Filipino food, and I'm absolutely here for it. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try the following: Pork Belly Nigiri Eggplant Ensalada Crispy Pata Kare Kare The dishes here were all delicious. Sure, a bit of a different take on items that I personally grew up with, but all absolutely amazing! I loved how the kare kare was cooked separately, keeping all the vegetables crunchy. Also, their bagoong (iykyk) is housemade -- what!? It was really good too. Their crispy pata, a star of the show, was huge and definitely meant to be shared by a handful of people. The eggplant ensalada, was smokey, which was perfect for me, and the pork belly nigiri was heavenly. Spoon and Pork has generously offered meals for those in need. will start off with parking is pretty much non existent as the parking lot next to the restaraunt is for another place. So you will need to find street parking. We came around brunch time and when they just opened so it wasn't busy but it was by the time we left. Being a Filipino restaraunt, hearing emo 90s playlist (mind you I like that music) didn't really fit the vibe. I was kinda expecting maybe some Filipino music but that's just me. Food wise I had the Lechon Kawali Silog. The garlic rice was on point really good! The egg, wish it was a little runny as the yolk wasn't. Kinda surprised a Filipino restaurant had no mangtomas. I've never visited a Filipino restaurant before and I was craving Asian food for lunch so we decided to check out this place. There's only street parking so be prepared to parallel park. We ordered 3 entrees and a side of rice for 3 people. I liked how on the menu, they give you different sizing options for a lot of the dishes. We chose the smallest side for each dish because we wanted to try a little of everything. Garlic rice was so good, the garlic bits were not burnt at all. Patita is a definite order!! Crispy outer edge skin and soft/moist meat in a sweet chili sauce. We also ordered the lechon but it was a bit on the fattier side but all of their pickled cabbages is so good. My partner and I came on a Tuesday right when they opened at 5pm and there was no one except us the entire time we dined, which is a shame. We came on the recommendation of a friend that told us about this restaurant. He recommended we try the Patita, and my partner was eyeing the Lechon Kawali Rice plate. Service was really fast and our server was pleasant. The seats are not very comfortable, and by not very comfortable I literally mean metal rods. So we moved to where they had wooden benches. Calamansi Cucumber 5/5: For drinks the calamansi cucumber drink really caught my attention. For $15 for a 750ml bottle it was very pleasant. Lightly tart from the calamansi extract, pleasantly sweet from the honey, fresh and refreshing from the cucumber muddled into the drink it was the perfect drink to start our meal. Lumpia 4/5: It's good, but it didn't wow me. Shrimp chunks wrapped in pork was plentiful throughout the long lumpia themselves and it was served with sweet chili sauce and a very vinegary sauce. The lumpias had a pretty salty taste but the vinegar really help balance it out. I think I would have rather ordered a different appetizer for next time. Lechon Kawali Rice 5/5: Wow! The pork belly was the perfect balance between succulence and crispiness! Served on a bed of garlic rice with two fried eggs. My only complaint of this dish was that the fried eggs were too overdone. The edges were burnt on the bottom and you can actually taste the bitter burnt edges. Thais have similar style eggs but we use more oil to fry our eggs. The pickled red cabbage was also a nice touch. The black-vinegary sauce was such a good edition to the pork belly as eating too much pork belly really encapsulates your mouth with fat, the vinegar gives it that sharp contrast to help cleanse your palette. Patita 5/5: Amazing! I wish I had asked for sauce on the side, because sweet chili slathered all over it was not my jam. I think the sweet chili all over the patita made it too sweet for me, but the pork leg itself was just aweinspiringly amazing. If I come back I'm thinking I should bring my own garlic-lime-fish sauce-chili sauce, a staple in my diet and ask for sauce on the side so I can control how much sauce I wanted to dip my pork in. Overall I'm impressed! Great recommendation by my friend and I'm sad that we were the only ones for a whole hour. read more

Philippino food is not the most approachable cuisine in the Asian food scene. You can't really compare it to other Asian food and it's unique in its own way. Spoon and pork does a great job at making it approachable to anyone! We got pretty much everything on the menu and it was delicious. Just 10/10. The Only down side was the service. When we were seated there was only one server. He might have been overwhelmed because it's always busy but he was not doing a great job at hiding it. We asked 2 simple questions regarding the menu and this guy was so rude and uninterested in answering them. He was adamant on making us feel like we have to hurry and order so he can walk away. Then I need you to call this restaurant and book your Kamayan Feast ASAP!!! My birthday this year was absolutely fabulous. My family and I raved about our gathering here for days after. The awards this team has garnered are well deserved. No question about it. They know how to host your party, treat you with kindness, and present a spread of the most delicious Filipino food you will ever taste. My Mom was impressed and our table was absolutley pleased with every bite. Our table was the most beautiful array of colors and aromas. I can't beg you all enough to book this experience. Came here because of a recommendation on YouTube and so glad I got to try it. You can order their entrees by single portion, double or family, which I love. I appreciate being able to portion it out and customize it depending on what you like. Recommend coming here with more people so you can try a little bit of everything. We ordered the patita for two, the bistek for one, and the mushroom appetizer and it was plenty of food for two people. Enjoy all the food with a side of their garlic rice. This really allows you to be able to try a little bit of everything. The patita was great, super crispy but I wish the meat was a little bit juicier on the inside. It did fall off the bone relatively easy, but the skin alone is enough to get me to come back. So saucy, a little bit of spice and sweetness from the chili sauce, and super crunchy. The bistek was also really good. I liked the fried shallots, the sauce and onions and the lemon really helps cut through the heaviness of the dish. The garlic mushrooms were also great and paired very nicely with the garlic rice and all of the other dishes. For drinks, their calamansi lime cucumber drink was very refreshing. Parking lot is shared between Spoon & Pork and Playita. I usually try not to come to LA for food because I hate driving and parking here, but I'd come back to LA for this spot. read more

I wanted to try the kamayan feast and was excited to find a Michelin recognized place that offered it. It was easy to email them and ask questions and make the reservations, you pre-pay the fee+tax+tip a few days prior and confirm your headcount. We went to the Sawtelle location and none of us had been to that area before and/or it was a long time and we didn't realize it was in such a crazy busy area with so many shops. It was Sunday evening and there were so many people out, this particular parking lot is tiny and shared by so many other businesses, we all had great difficulty finding parking and when leaving, there were people yelling at each other over parking spots. I know this is not the restaurant's fault but it makes for an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe experience. The feast was amazing. We loved it. I was late so I dont know who set up the table and how they did it but I can tell you the spread was beautiful, it was aesthetically pleasing as well as delicious - i loved the shrimp, fried fish, dragon fruit, rambutan, skewers, and all the sauces. We all took a box of leftovers home, there was a lot of food! I would definitely recommend for a special occassion to have some patience and have a gathering here to try the kamayan feast! read more

I was craving this place, so I decided to eat here when I was alone. Service could be better. While I was in the middle of ordering my food, the Caucasian server interrupted me and said, "these portions are for two people!" I responded, "That's ok. And if I don't finish them, I'll take them home!" as I proceeded to tell him what else I wanted. When he walked toward the kitchen, I heard him telling the chef, "you have a big order for one person!" I find that to be so rude, almost as he was shaming me or judging me. This was around dinner time on September 9, 2024. Some might find this excessive, but I know what I want and I will get what I want. It's not like the Fido's going to waste. All the food was delicious. This visit, the Kare Kare was better for some reason, there were new things added to it, like some crunchy things that tasted really good! It is no wonder Spoon & Pork has 5 years in the Michelin Guide! They have authentic Filipino food and flavor down. Every single dish I tried was so good. I ordered a bunch of things to share, my favorites were the crispy lechon kawali which paired so well with the bright flavors of the atchara (pickled papaya). I also really loved the pancit canton (Filipino noodles) which went with everything- highly recommend this if you're new to Filipino food! Laing was also so delish with rice and the lechon. Laing is taro leaves cooked in coconut milk and other yummy ingredients. It's an adventurous choice if you're unfamiliar but it is so delicious, earthy, and such a comforting meal when served on top of piping hot rice. Service was excellent! Filipino warm and friendly hospitality was felt and experienced. Interior was simple and beautiful and felt homey. We wanted to try the Peach Mango Sago so might as well have lunch too! It's a sharing place. We got Patitas, Chicken Inasal, Eggplant Ensalada, and Garlic Rice small. This was too much for two people but still very delicious and satisfying. The Patita is a generous hunk of pork shank very meaty and slathered with sweet chili glaze. It's no wonder it's their signature. The chicken Inasal was well seasoned so it didn't need the other sauces (toyomansi and annatto schmaltz) I liked the grilled flavor but some people might think it's salty! My favorite restaurant that I been to this year! Spoon & Pork does modern Filipino cuisine. On my visit, everything I ordered was outstanding! The star of the show is anything with PORK - after all it's part of the restaurant's name. :) However, they have other meat dishes besides pork and some vegan/vegetarian options. Recommended to me was the "eggplant ensalada". Definitely a must try and probably one of the best dishes in general that I ate all year! Service was so welcoming and attentive; don't be shy ask questions if needed. Ambiance is cozy with nice music playing in the background (very tasteful and not too loud). Much appreciated-thank you! For a Saturday night, I was kind of expecting for the place to be a little more busy, but we were the only party for a little while hehe but that's okay because it made the experience all the more intimate haha. It's a very cute and dainty space, and I am a little surprised that it is able to host kamayans but would love to try it sometime in the future. I was really looking forward to eating here, as it marks my first Filipino food in California, and it overwhelmingly surpassed my expectations GRABE. For food, we ordered a large white rice, Kare Kare, Sisig, and Sabaw, please! The white rice was more than enough to feed the two of us with half of the bowl leftover. Also in big, family-style portions were the Sisig and Kare Kare. The Sisig was solid, and though I was surprised that the egg was an additional charge, I did not get it (but kind of wish I did just to try it). I might have to say that this is my second favorite sisig ever, and I especially loved the slight crunchiness of the chicharron. The Kare Kare is my favorite kare kare of all time. It was just chef's kiss! The perfect creamy, nuttiness of it all was everything I could have dreamed of, and I just loved everything about it from the meat to the veggies to the bagoong. Imagine this: (1) getting a perfect bite of rice and Kare Kare with some short rib, a long bean, a scoop of the Kare Kare sauce, and bagoong; (2) washing the last chew of that bite down with a spoonful of sabaw (which was perfectly sour by the way); (3) getting a perfect bite of rice, sisig, and chicharron; (4) again washing the last chew of that bite down with sabaw. Savored every bite, cried at the end of my meal because of how delicious it was, had time to reminisce those bites on the walk back to street parking down the road. So looking forward to coming back. It's my first time in Silver Lake and Spoon & Pork just became my favorite Filipino restaurant in LA. The ambiance gives a homey and cozy vibe. We arrived at approximately 1:45pm and were immediately seated. While it's a pity that they ran out of Chicken Inasal, I'll make sure to cross that off my bucket list on my next dine-in visit. I ordered their Sisig silog lunch plate while my mom got the Beef Tapa silog plate. Our plates were served within 10 minutes of ordering. The sisig tastes very authentic and is identical to the legit Kapampangan sisig! Their beef tapa is super tender, soft and savory. Spoon & Pork is a Filipino inspired restaurant. Since the dishes aren't fully "Filipino", it left me a little disappointed towards the end. Some dishes were too salty or sweet, and sometimes overpowering. The service of the restaurant wasn't the best during my time there, but it might have been due to it being a slow day. In terms of parking, since it is located in Sunset Blvd, it took us a quite a bit to find one. I first tried Spoon & Pork when they had a booth at Smorgasborg and loved it! They told me at the time that they were opening up a brick & mortar in Silverlake and it took me forever to finally come but I'm glad I did I went with my gf and our best friends and two of us were Filipino - we gave this a thumbs up for real for Filipino food There was only one server and he was super nice and attentive - when I saw a fruit fly in my calamansi juice, he didn't hesitate to replace it (even if he didn't i would've drank it still but that was nice) We got 4 dishes - mushroom salpicao, pork sisig, kare kare and the patita + garlic fried rice I've gotta say, me and my bestf riend don't like kare kare but we wanted to try it cos it was the cripsy kind and my gf like peanuts - we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it as two girls who were certified kare kare dislikers LOL The patita was soooo good, it was definitely my favorite. I personally wasn't too wow'd by the sisig but everyone else liked it. Me and my gf love mushrooms and I love salpicao and that was very good. When my friend and I dined in it was 6:40pm on a Friday night so it was just one table and us and the service was very underwhelming but tbh the quality of food was horrific. We ordered the normal Chicken Inasal and got served undercooked pink chicken!! We asked the waiter how they cook their chicken and he said they cook their chicken for six hours and claimed it was blood vessels and said to me 'do you expect me to do something about it?' And I'm like when you say it like that with that condescending tone, I lost my appetite immediately after that and never again am I coming back. I had been excited to try S&P after reading about it and hearing from my partner how he had a good meal there w co-workers. We decided to go to S&P for a Sunday night dinner. Since they do not have parking, as expected, trying to find parking along Sunset was a trial. After circling for about 15 to 20 minutes, we finally found a spot a little bit away. We had decided on going somewhere else when we finally found parking. When we got to the restaurant, they had a good sized outdoor patio (but it was a bit dark) and a small, but decent amount of indoor seating. The ambiance is clean, modern, and inviting. However sitting on their metal chairs did start to hurt towards the end of the meal (seat cushions might help) Service was good with the friendly staff answering questions, making suggestions, refilling water frequently, and checking in to see when they could clear away plates. As for the food, we ordered the Brussels sprouts, sisig, chicken inasal, and garlic rice. The Brussels sprouts were sweet and delicious. The Adobe vinaigrette was so good, we saved the leftover sauce to eat with rice. The chicken had a great charred flavor and went well with the toyomansi sauce. It was all dark meat, herby, and became the highlight of our dinner. The garlic rice was as expected and paired well with all of the above. Almost everything was flavorful and delectable except the pork dish. The Sisig was the most disappointing thing I've ever eaten. Sisig is my go to dish at Filipino restaurants and I expect it to be savory and have some crunch to it. The Sisig at Spoon and PORK was completely mushy, salty, and otherwise flavorless. There were some pork rinds on top to offer some crunch but to me, good Sisig itself has some crunch. I cannot begin express how disappointed I was in this dish... but as much as I was dissatisfied with this dish, the same cannot be said about the chicken inasal. If you go to S&P, skip the Sisig and get the chicken. It's great. They should call their restaurant Spoon & Chicken. I didn't get to try the Lechon or pork belly so maybe on a future visit, I can attest to how good (or not) those are and decide if "Pork" brings in their name or not. ;) read more

I had a confirmed reservation for a party of four, which I even reconfirmed the day before. When we arrived, the restaurant was closed with a note on the door about "electrical issues." No phone call, no text, no email--absolutely no communication. It was embarrassing to show up with my guests to a locked restaurant, and we had to scramble to find another place last minute. Listed on the California Michelin Guide for a good reason! I first dined at the Spoon & Pork in Sawtelle and loved it ever since. This time I came to the Silver Lake location with a friend, and it's safe to say he loved it! It was a cozy restaurant with a relaxed ambiance. Although it was smaller than the one in Sawtelle, the food did not disappoint. The menu featured many modern Filipino dishes along with some desserts. If you come during lunch, they provide lunch specials as well. We had the patita and lechon kawali with a big bowl of white rice. The patita was my absolute fave last time I visited, so I had to get it again. It did not disappoint as it was so flavorful and tender. No wonder it was named one of the best dishes of 2019 in LA Times! The lechon kawali was also cooked so well - very crispy, and the sauce was a perfect pair for this dish. First time at Spoon & Pork food was very good. The Lechon was amazing super crispy and juicy at the same time spot on. And the Brussel sprouts are the best I've ever had. You get different flavors as you eating the Brussel sprouts amazing!! The beef Tapa was good Only down side is the beef was a bit hard and chewy but flavor was great. Came here for a Sunday Brunch - we ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Lumpia, Chicken Chicharron, Tapa, Adobo Pork Belly Breakfast, garlic rice, and Peach Mango Sago. All of the food was fantastic! The Chicken Chicarron was so flavorful and crispy, the steak was cooked to perfection, the pork belly melted in your mouth. and the Peach Mango is out of the world! Overall a great brunch experience. Parking was challenging for those who don't know the area, but it's worth the trouble to have a hearty meal. read more
