I stopped by, while my lunch order next door was being made. I needed some mini hair clips, and I knew they would have them here. Sure enough, I found two sets that I liked. For $1.25, you really can't beat that. I looked around the store to see if there was anything else that caught my eye. They were doing a restock, so all the isles were blocked with stacks of boxes. This Dollar Tree is near my home and it had a great selection of items. Place feels clean and the area is not so sketchy... (but I grew up in the hood so it doesn't bother me). They had what I was looking for: some art supplies, utensils and plates. I went for Grad decorations in May and they were out of stock of everything. However, they had lots of summer decorations and 4th of July items. I also found extra things I did not know I needed: stationary, and some kitchen stuff.The cashier was very kind and the store is not so crowded. I always save a buck or two at Dollar Tree. read more

She made me feel like I annoyed her, rude didn't bother to even look at me, got rude when I asked after standing there in silence for almost 4minif she was open while she looked pissed at another worker!!! Not quite the hoop la it was a few years ago but you can still find all kinds of cheap utensils and Nik knacks to make life a little more convenient. I find this dollar store to be less crowded than other ones. They also have a good selection when I've been here. I'm usually searching for windshield wiper fluid and batteries and they always seem to have them in stock. Also, they have a great selection of toiletries. Toothpaste, shaving cream, soap, and some great brand names. This is one of the few dollar trees that also have balloons available too. read more

This dollar tree has a good selection of items, especially party favors and balloons, however the parking is abysmal. I wasted 15 minutes looking for parking as it was completely clogged. The area is pretty sketchy which questionable characters. read more

This store needs to follow the law and implement a plan for preventing shopping cart theft, and PICK UP THEIR STRAY CARTS. I see them all over our neighborhoods. I've come into the store and their employee gave me an attitude, basically telling me it happens and they can't do anything about. The abandoned cart ordinance, San José Municipal Code 9.60, was developed to ensure that the owners of carts are aware of their responsibility to prevent the abandonment of carts and to educate their customers not to take the carts and abandon them off-site. Each business with more than 26 carts must submit a site specific 2017 Abandoned Cart Prevention Plan to the City of San José. This plan focuses on loss prevention and requires a retrieval plan and employee awareness training as plan components. I love the dollar tree because it's perfect to get arts and crafts for my kids. Normally I find that the staff is pretty quiet unless you're checking out. Today I went to the location on Winchester, again to get crafts and I met one of the staff today. Her name is Devin ( forgive me if I spell it wrong ) she was awesome! So beyond friendly, helpful and more important engaging. She had me laughing! She was genuine and seriously one of the only staff that has ever gone out of her way to be so nice. Thank you Devin! There are times you have to straight up admire the chutzpah of a retail store manager. This is the weakest Dollar Tree location in its area - no freezer, limited food items, poorly organized, and trying to cram too much into too little space. A poor DT is better than no DT in an area that lacks both WalMart and Family Dollar. This morning the signage said it would open at 8 AM. I planned accordingly. But hey, it's the day after Christmas, things happen. When the disabled man in the wheelchair tried to go in at 8:30, she told him "We open at nine! Read the sign!" and then immediately TOOK DOWN THE SIGN. The sign, of course, said 8 AM. Points for taking down the sign. Extra points for cruelty. I figured I would give my one dollar worth on this review. It is a nice store, and you will find a few things going for it, as they do have some good things that you can purchase for a dollar. If you are looking for holiday items, that you can give away or have the kids give away for other in class it is a great way to keep the cost down and find some very unique items. If you are looking for some household items and you are low on cash, you are able to find some low cost items, including some name brands just in small quantities. Why do I say all this, honestly I do not know. Really, I say all this because you can find some really good items here, but most of all you can find some really good candy deals, and since I have boys with me, I am able to give them candy from time to time, and not break the bank, especially when we are going to the drive in theaters here in the Bay Area, yes they still have those here. It keep the cost down, they get what they want and everybody is happy in the end, especially my wallet. Overall this is a good store but nothing special, they generally only have one cashier, and sometime the store is a mess, since customer do not know how to control themselves from picking something up and just dropping on the floor, otherwise the people working here are friendly and some have been here for sometime. Honestly met the rudest employee ever here. Don't care what her name is but she's an ugly old hag. Can't miss her. I asked her where the wrapping papers were and her response was "what kind?" like uhhh the ones you wrap presents with?? And she kept asking me the same question basically yelling at me like I was the dumb one. Finally she asked "Christmas or birthday?" like I was supposed to know that's what she was asking? I thought all the wrapping papers were located in the same area. Also there was a line of about 15 people and she switched over to the cash register. There was one other employee there and she offered to help at the register as well. But the old hag told her "no, you need to take your break I have so much stuff to do." Yeah, you do. The customers who are waiting in line. Duh. She was like "don't worry guys if you're patient I'll get through super fast!" while chatting with every customer as if she had all the time in the world. This Dollar Tree is very compact and messy. There are always items on the floor and the overall selection is limited because it is one of the smaller Dollar Trees in the area in terms of sheer space. I really enjoy going to the Dollar Tree on Campbell Ave because it is huge, the store is always organized well, it is clean and a pleasure to shop at cos of the friendly staff. Here it is always dirty and the staff is kinda clueless but it is a Dollar Tree so if you need something cheap by all means shop here, but it isn't the best one in the area for everything. read more

I fell so sorry for the staff at this store. I order 72 Teddy Bears on Oct 19 for a charity for their holiday party. I got three email messages saying my order was shipped and I had to pick it up at this location. I went there 3 times, called them a few times, left my name and phone number and they never called back and never could find my order. They had the paperwork for my order, they said that they did not get the order and it was probably on the way. It never arrived. There must be a glitch with the Online order process. Today I got this email saying I would be refunded my money. "Hi We regret to inform you that your order, or part of your order, has been cancelled. Your purchase could not be picked up at your local Dollar Tree store within the timeframe specified in your order confirmation." Not very professional. Also 2/3 of the order was cancelled before they ever shipped. I went to the other Campbell store and they provided me with Teddy Bears! I think both the Winchester Store and especially the Online Store should hang their heads in shame. I will never order anything from them again! read more
