I just went to this store for the first time and I LOVED it!!! Isaac greeted me with a smile when I walked in the door and was SO friendly and courteous when he rang up my order. He should be training the Dollar Tree employees where I live! A young woman stocking the shelves helped me find something. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. She wasn't fluent in English but it didn't matter. She went out of her way to help me find what I needed. I'm in the area every week since I have family here. I had some interactions after in the store and they did not compare to the amazing customer service that Devin gave me! Came by the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking was plentiful in the strip mall. There seem to be plans to redevelop the plot of land into housing...we'll see if and when that happens... Inside the store is spacious and stocked. Some staff wore a name tag. Parts of the store were messy and chaotic. Items that were $1.25 are now $1.5 or more, due to "shipping costs." The clientele is rather unique. The shopper in front of me curtly requested the cashier to insert her items that wouldn't fit into the plastic bag ...all while leaving her cart in the middle of the line...interesting. Dollar Tree features helium balloons which could be helpful for birthday parties! read more

This is a good size dollar tree with a huge parking lot. Unfortunately it's always messy inside and things are not organized too well. The selection of items isn't as good here as other locations. They are always out of the face wash that I like. I will have to try another location. The staff at the registers are very nice and we didn't have to wait in line for long. read more

I shop dollar tree primarily for greeting cards that I send to members of my church group. Yesterday I was surprised to see the horrible green carpeting has been removed and replaced with tile floor. Gives the store a much cleaner appearance. The condition of the store varies greatly. Sometimes it is neat, clean and well stocked. At other times it's a mess with packages opened, and merchandise scattered in the aisles. Dollar store is no different than any other retail establishment in trying to keep employees. Except for the store in Campbell, which is always clean and organized with at least three checkers, most stores only have one cashier and very long lines. On one occasion, the line at the Meridian store was all the way back to the end of the aisle. I do not envy the task of the employees having to clean up after shoppers who make a mess. read more

I try and avoid your employee Bob every time I come into the store! He is always rude, disrespectful and patronizing. Today I unfortunately could not avoid him. Started with him criticizing the persons purchase in-front of me inline to her face. Then I asked if I could also get a balloon that wasn't already inflated to which I received a tirade and lecture about how he knows the inventory and I should pay attention as he is there at 7:30 every morning blowing up balloons. A simple that is all we have would suffice completely rude and judgmental. He is awful! read more

We were in there yesterday October 16th and each and every time we come in which is often there always is the nicest people working there at the checkout and throughout the store. Two employees went out of their way to find me a jar of coffee a few weeks ago it was greatly appreciated and everyone we have come across has been so nice and helpful. He's always so nice and friendly! I get the warmest welcoming and always leave with a smile on my face. He never fails to make my girlfriend and I laugh. Bill was a weird one. I wouldn't usually post a negative review about an elder, but this man completely berated and embarrassed me in front of multiple customers for trying to be nice....the person before me set the divider on the line for me to place my products. I grabbed the only other divider I saw available to allow the person behind me to place their products on the belt only to be yelled at that it was NOT the correct "divider" to grab. Apparently I chose a solid gray stick over the green one available....and was scolded on how that was NEVER to be touched. I would've felt a little bad had he not continued to completely ignore me and brag to the women in line after me how as soon as he got the cash from his recent $2 million dollar home sale he would be good to go! This store is the filthiest I have ever been in! That includes the restrooms and storage areas. The potential for this store is enormous and its being thrown away. I tried to say something to 'Bill' when checking out, but he interrupted me immediately and said he doesn't care! There is no manager - they come and leave after 30 days. He only takes care of the register, the frozen food, and candy - nothing else matters to him. Avoid this store! read more

Definitely my favorite Dollar Tree in San Jose! Layout isn't as cramped as other locations and the aisles here are LONGER with way better selection of items. Don't mind the outdated and dim yellow ceiling lights. I love this location as it still has that old school Cambrian vibe. They have better selection compared to other locations and we often come here to get stuff for themed parties. I'll also admit that I enjoy Haribo gummy bears and their selection here never lets me down! No complaints about customer service, I usually see the same cashiers and they are friendly. Parking is always a breeze too even on Farmer's Market Weekends. Only con...not realizing how many random $1 items you grabbed and then seeing the final cost! Haha. read more

One cash register open during the holidays with 10+ waiting customers, despicable service!

I was in here about a week ago around 9:15. I went back up to the front for a cart and saw they had already closed the main set of doors and had all the outside flowers in front of the doors. I asked the cashier what time they closed, he said 10 like it says on the doors. I was still shopping at 9:30 when they announced for everyone to bring their purchases up to pay, they are closing. WTF happened to 10pm!? They kicked us all out and locked the doors. Lame. read more

I hate how unorganized and dirty this location is in comparison with others around. There is always a lack of walking space from products lining the floors and a pile up of unshelved products. Decent store for some quick last minute items, but I still think you are better off shopping elsewhere when possible. read more

Dollar Tree is okay, and this location was huge. I was surprised to see the freezers and as logical as it was, the plastic storage boxes across from them. I thought to myself "is frozen food all the food they have?" I went around to the next aisle and found a ragtag supply of various items but there didn't seem to be much of what I was expecting. Maybe, it's the metro area and the buyers do things a bit differently. There was nothing really wrong, but there was nothing really right. Over the years, I've found portable LED lighting kits that are battery operated that you can hang in your closet or pantry for some really bright light on the spot. They have good cleaning supplies, also. Some of their snacks and other food items are of good quality, even those made in China. Of course, you have to watch out for the sizes of name brand items, as they will offer you a different size to put it into a certain price but somehow it looks like the one you buy, but at a bargain price. I always go to this dollar tree but today I had the absolute worse experience every. I believe the worker's name was greg or gary or something like that. Two registers were open and no clear sign that only one line was to be made so naturally I moved to the shorter line. I was then yelled at by the cashier at the longer line to move back since I was last in line! I understand if they only want one line but theres a way to treat a customer and that was not one of them. He then proceeded to be sarcastic and talk about me to the customer in front of me. This low rating is only because of the teller who was at the register, named Bill, on Thursday, June 22. His manners were terrible. He had asked an elderly customer if she needed a bag, and HE was the one who didn't hear her initial answer. He proceeds to say, "Hey, I'm talking to you. Did you want a bag?" She kindly says, "I said no thank you." He then was very condescending on when to put her card in the machine, etc. I'm going to chalk it up to Bill having a bad day. If it were possible to give below 1 star I would. On January 28 my daughter was shopping at the Dollar Tree store on Union Ave. in San Jose. Two of the employees, one of whom was the manager, accosted her in the aisle and told her in loud voices to leave the store immediately or they were going to call the police. They accused her of stealing from the store the day before and walking out with a cart full of goods. Why didn't they stop the woman the day before when she left the store without paying? Both women admitted they had not been there when this incident occurred. When she protested her innocence and said she had not been at the store the day before they continued their loud tirade in front of the other customers in the store. This went on for three or four minutes. At that time a checker came up and said, "That's not her". My daughter left the store and sat crying in her car at being so thoroughly embarrassed and humiliated in front of the other customers when they knocked on her window and gave her an apologetic note and $50.00 gift card. $50.00 does not restore someones reputation or make up for total humiliation and of course she will never go to that store again. She would not write in defense of herself, but as her mother I will. I wrote to the legal department at Dollar Tree headquarters and also filed a complaint with the BBB. No response from them to either complaint. read more
