Okay, I keep saying I am NOT a customer any more (Dollar Tree), but here I am again…read more.. Quality/Quantity - Decent size location. Dollar Tree replaced the 99 cent store that used to be here. Easy in and out. I got my one item that was fully in stock. Atmosphere - Well stocked. Good selection. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week from Mondays to Saturday from 8am to 10pm. And on Sundays from 9am to 9pm. Service - Excellent. The one item was on the very, I mean VERY top peg. I asked the employee to borrow his step stool, but then he came and just got it down for me. And he brought a few extra down for future customers. Good thinking. Price - $1.25+; but I only come here for the $1.25 items. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1953 with 15,288+ locations (8000 of which are Dollar Trees). I did not know that Family Dollar "merged" with you in 2021. I see you are starting to create combo Family Dollar and Dollar Tree locations (1200 locations). 1953 Ben Franklin Store. 1970 K&K Toys. 1986 Only $1 Stores. 1989 Dollar Tree. 1995 IPO. 2010 Entered the Canadian Market via acquisition. 2021 Raised prices from $1 to $1.25. 2024 Acquired 99 cent stores; hence this location's transition.

It's absolutely what I'd call a one stop shop but I did notice that a lot of their smaller sizes, at least within the women's items, were not in stock. Mind you I did go right after Christmas so possibly that's the reason but I did end up getting a phenomenal cow print faux fur jacket that stretches from shoulders to toes and my friend also got one too. It was listed at a fantastic sale price and there was no question once I found out it was discounted that we both HAD to have it-- and now that it's home with me, I absolutely don't regret it and cannot wait to wear it! While there, I was also looking at a really great distressed cowboy hat, but my friend decided she had to have it as well so as there was only one left, it was absolutely going to be for her!! :)

It's incredibly strange I lost my charging cable when I had locked it inside my Pacsafe hip bag while flying . . . Hmmmm~ Weird. Anyway, I bought an upgraded, ten-foot, lightning, charging cable. The charging cable is more heavy-duty, thicker; it's black, wrapped with the same material as an industrial, extension cord verses the charging cable I lost was wrapped in some sort of corded, cotton cloth, flimsy material. Moreover, I can never find a ten-foot lightning charging cable in Placerville, Sacramento, Roseville, Rancho Cordova or any of the Bay Area Big Lots Stores: Oddly, this Big Lots Store has a plethora of items I have YET seen in other Big Lots Stores' inventory.

Most anything you can think of retail is tucked away in one of the aisles. The prices are pretty good and the folks are all super nice. Very professional. That's all you can expect. The rest is gravy. This is where we get our phone chargers, shampoos, paper goods and spaghettios for the grand kids. They have furniture, bedding (including the mattress and box) and plenty of seasonal stuff. Today I found one of those sugar dispensers that you find in restaurants. Only $3. I've already used it twice. We're headed east for some R&R. I stop here and load up on big bags of candy to drop on unsuspecting grandchildren. 1/20

But maybe they just have new signage, see picture. Easy in and out. I got my one item that was fully in stock. Then I rushed out to do my other chores. Atmosphere - Again, one of the larger location. Well stocked. Good selection. Plenty of parking, but a weird layout; sorry, I should have taken a few pictures of the parking lot. Open 7 days a week from Mondays to Saturday from 8am to 9pm. And on Sundays from 9am to 8pm. Service - Friendly, but ONLY one register was open for ALL the customers. There were at least 5 people in line in front of me. Not sure how many were behind me. As I've taken my guilty pleasure of thrifting rather than buying new, I stumbled across one of the…read moretop independent thrift stores to serve the capital city of Nevada. Located on the right hand side of eastbound Highway 50 and about a mile east of Highway 580 in Carson City, "Classy Seconds Thrift Shop" has been one of the main go-to thrift stores dating back to the late-1990's. Since I do not live in this area, this was my first opportunity as I got to check this place out which was during the afternoon on Friday 6/19/2026 at around 2:45pm. The location itself is not hard to miss as the building is very visible from the main highway. To actually get into the dedicated parking lot involves having to turn right on Brown St. and make another right on Gordon St. where the main entrance is. Since this is a fairly sizable and open space area, parking should never be an issue, no matter what day or time you come. The building itself is a clay grey shade complete with avocado green lettering. And for those wondering, they are open 7 days a week; Monday-Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm. Once inside, you will see how spacious the layout is with approximately 10,000 square feet of floor space and ample room to walk with a shopping cart. As for the variety of items that are offered, this place carries everything from mens/womens/kids clothing, shoes, houseware items, books, CDs/DVDs, furniture, small appliances, seasonal items, knick/knacks, and accessories. The one real advantage is that the prices here are quite competitive and even lower than the bigger major chain thrift stores such as Goodwill and Salvation Army. During my visit, I ended up buying a few summer polo shirts while my lady bought some mason jars and a small office organizer for her cubicle at work. Best of all, the money donated to this business helps support advocates to end domestic violence and services for survivors of family violence and victims of sexual assault. This goes hand-in-hand since the "Sexual Assault Response Advocates" (SARA) building is directly next door to Classy Seconds. With above average customer service, a decent selection of items, and very affordable prices, I am giving "Classy Seconds Thrift Shop" an above average four-star rating.

For the past month, we have donated thousands of dollars in new and used items. After speaking with a manager about all the stuff we were about to bring. And explaining we had 2 warehouses full, She was greatful and said bring it. and we began. Truck loads of holiday items new in boxes. Housewares, furniture, books, camping equipment, sporting equipment and the list goes on. Today August 21, 2026 we arrived at 10am to donate another load of housewares, China sets meaning several, more linens, utensils, furniture, medical equipment, lawn care equipment and more. As we pulled up, a new kid said we had too much stuff? My wife told him to go ask since we arranged large loads. A woman with a walky talky came out and said she sees dust on a piece of China and then points out a hair on the outside of a velvet bag with fine China in it and said she will not accept our load because it is not shelf ready? WTF. I told my wife that we were done now and I just had to leave because of laziness on these people. There racks outside were completely empty which makes me wonder how many people were being turned away. All month we were greeted with kindness and thanked for our donations. Today we were pretty much told we did not have shelf ready stuff. All in boxes and bags so it could not be seen to make that call. What I heard was that classy seconds no longer needed donations unless they were in pristine condition which ours was. I think of the name classy seconds and it should be classy first cause I was pretty much told my stuff was not good enough All of a sudden. We got in our truck and went across the street to Goodwill. They literally told us it would take a bit because they had to go through every bag and box and basket. We had to take back a bag of lightbulbs. That was it and the girl thanked us and told us that this load of stuff we delivered was the best items they had seen all week. It took 15 minutes to go through all of it. Bye bye un-classy-??? I feel bad for the people you could have helped with our stuff and we still have a warehouse full to go. So took your advise Lisa, on your comments. We loaded another truck full this morning and went to donate again. It was about 11:30 and as soon as we got out of truck, a young girl told us again that we could not donate any items unless they were shelf ready. And another young man told other donors the same thing. But my wife explained to her what happened yesterday and that you responded to our post and that items did not need to be shelf ready and you encouraged us to come back. She then said OK and took everything with a smile and very courteous.
