The concept is that you grab a bag and sift through cardboard boxes of stuff and fill up your bag. Depending on the day you come, the prices change. Monday's price is $3; on Tuesdays it's $2 for each item in the box, etc... down to a 25 cents "blowout" on Thursday morning... until they restock and start the week again. I don't know if the people who came over the weekend and paid $6 an item got all the bargains, but we didn't see even one thing that we considered buying. It was just big cardboard boxes lined up and very awkward to reach into that had piles of the same junk in it -- items you'd find left over from a sale in a flea market. Around the perimeter were drug store and grocery items marked at supposedly 50 percent off the retail price. Again nothing that was of any interest to us. And that's saying a lot when I can't find at least one thing to spend my money on. I'm glad I came -- so I won't feel like I've missed out on anything. Now I know.

Store feels cluttered and slightly dark. We walked in to find only one other visitor on Saturday afternoon. We heard staff making up prices in back area for incoming items. It felt like rock, paper, scissors. Hmmm .... They proudly offer they are a Target Store liquidator now. Interesting as at least 1/2 the store did not look like regular Target merchandise. The pricing now is full retail and then a discount of 35% off. Todays special was slightly higher. They also warned that credit card would add a 3% charge. (Being in financials, they should check processor contract as Visa/MC do not commonly allow this) It was not what we wanted and left. Not knocking their decision to go this route, but doubt we would return. The original business design seemed to offer more possibilities and just needed some better execution. We do wish them luck ....

I was here yesterday and they have a large selection of pool and BBQ items out for the summer. Very cute stuff. They have a large selection of plastic containers for mail prep, etc. I stocked up on a few different sizes, which are perfect for my work lunches. They are a few stores down from the movie theater.

I originally went in search of that ELF sunscreen I'd bought there before. Didn't find it... but ended up scoring something even better... Clarins sunscreen! So good and lightweight! I'm obsessed! But wait, it gets better. I came across Taxco by Milestone, a UAE fragrance that's a dupe for YSL Tuxedo. YOOOOOO, it smells incredible and lasted all day. Don't sleep on those UAE scents. Marshall's really comes through with the hidden fragrance gems. And just when I thought I was done, BOOM, I spotted a pair of Air Force 1s! Total surprise and definitely a first for me at Marshall's. And at a great price. The store was clean, the staff was friendly, and the deals were dealing. You already know I'll be back!

Between the holiday shopping lines and even today at the second week of January the line is long. I have to wait this time, as I don't want to let my time lapse to return an item. About 80 percent of the items I was looking for were in stock. The other 20 percent were not, which tends to be the usual hit or miss with BJ's. On the plus side, they had several items I did not even realize they carried, and at significantly lower prices compared to online or other retail stores. The lines were not too bad, and there were multiple registers open for convenience. They also offer store pickup and curbside options, which is a great bonus. Parking was easy as well. I had noticed the box was open, but since everything was there, I didn't worry and I happily wrapped it up for Christmas. As life gets busy, my boyfriend hasn't had time to use the massager so I went to try and charge it for him last night and that's when I realized that it was completely the wrong charger for the machine. I guess that someone else returned it, the store didn't check if everything was returned correctly, they put it back on the shelf, and I purchased it. Of course, this is very upsetting as it's not cheap and this was my big present for my boyfriend so now I have a massager that I cannot use in any way. I went back to the store to see if they can help me. I expressed this to the owner's wife and the other lady at the store, explaining everything in a nice way (my mother always taught me that you get more with honey.) In this case, the owner's wife thought it was OK to raise her voice at me and talk to me the entire way in a loud, reprimanding voice and repeating that I did not have a receipt. I understand I don't have a receipt but for a store to accept something returned prior that was incomplete and then turn around to resell it is unacceptable. I initially agreed to leave the massager there and come back tomorrow to see if they found another charger as the other lady was helpful. But since I didn't have the receipt, I thought maybe I should go back and ask the owner's wife just to write something that I left it there as proof for me. Right when I walked back in, I tried calmly asking her this, with a smile, and she continued to raise her voice at me, and tell me that she was going to call the cops that I was attacking her. Well, the owner can look at the camera and see the truth, that the way his wife treats his customers is completely rude and unacceptable. Maybe I could understand if I went in there screaming and such, but in the manner that I came in and explain led my situation, there was no reason for her loud and rude behavior when they were the ones that did not check their returned merchandise.
