Your employee, female, dark hair, tattoos on arms, working register 2 today, Saturday 03/18/23, was extremely rude, unprofessional and mean, uncaring and even threatened me. Telling me the cards don't go outside, I then told her I needed help then carrying my 5 bags out to my car, she responded they don't have anybody. I said, then I have to take the card or how would I get my purchases to my car? She did not care. Said the cards would get lost and stolen when people take them. I asked her how they would get stolen, if I brought the card right back? I am a decent person with manners, I do know how to be behave and do things the correct way. Even then and when I told her I had a recent surgery, did she keep harassing me, following me, tearing the card away from me when I was on my way to take it back to the store and threatening me not to come back there. I am always baffled by these $0.99 or $1 stores. I just think it's amazing you still can get something for a dollar. Granted what a dollar gets you in these places is bound to either A. have toxic paint from China B. break in a day or so C. be expired or missing something but nevertheless we found exactly what we needed for so much less than we planned on paying (mini spotlights and reading lights). We ended up getting other useless crap including a basket of shells for the little one per the in-store begging and happily found SIXTY shells in a basket. (That sure beats walking up and down the beach for days on end trying to find one shell.) It was our luck that we happened to spot this store. It was clean, the cashiers were friendly and there was ample parking. Best part? The parking lot didn't reek of urine as my other experience with the 99 cent store. Dollar Trees have a nice website where you can buy stuff in bulk too. The stores seems pretty well organized and staffed compared to a 99 cent store. They have a couple of staff roaming or stocking and they always ask if you need help with anything. They have a huge greeting card section which is nice. I was so excited to find out that there was a Dollar Tree close to me! You see, I was planning to go to the one in Redondo Beach to shop for items for my classroom. Then I looked online to find the address and found this one! I have been wanting to try Dollar Tree for a while - I had heard great things about it from other teachers and parents, so I finally went. Well, it is like a really clean and organized 99 cent store. Many things the same, but better craft supplies, wrapping paper stuff, and toys. I found googly eyes and foam shapes for my art center. I also found some decent candy for munching (Milk Duds). But I have to say that I was underwhelmed. I was hoping to find more things that I could use for school. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE w/Patti the so-called manager! On 09/04/19 I went to Dollar Tree Store # 4187 located at 11455 Jefferson Blvd in Culver City CA 90230 and purchased a few items. One of them was metal sink strainer. After testing that item at home found out that it's not working for my sink. On 09/05/19 I went back to the store to do an exchange and Patti the manager of the store said the item is open and she cannot exchange it. I asked her how can I try the item if I do not open the package. She did not have an answer for me. I asked for her supervisor's name. Her answer was I don't have one but you can call the corporate. She gave me the corporate number 1.800.826.8697 which is not correct. Try it. This is some kind of survey phone number. She was super rude! It's not the 99 cents store for sure. The items are really low quality and the known brands they do carry are kid size portions or snack size portions as far as food is concerned so really the .99 an item is really not worth it. They even got fined for asking an item above price. Most of the employees specially the lady manager has a very unfriendly attitude. She NEVER smiles or says hello when she rings customers up. On 7/20/19, I went into this dollar tree to make a purchase. After I finished gathering the items to purchase, a cashier named Shonta opened up her lane. I was the first person and only person in line. While placing my items on the counter, Shonta allowed a couple to go in front of me. I said "that's not right." Shonta rings me up AFTER she completed the couple's transaction. She did not greet me nor tell me the total. Her attitude was disgusting. Of course I asked her, "Why don't I get the same customer service as you gave the couple?" Shonta then calls me a "b" several times and said " I hope your mother dies. " SHE ACTUALLY SAID THAT. I then pull out my phone to record her. She continues to insult me even while she was being recorded. Headquarters will be contacted. I have been to this Culver City Dollar Tree on several occasions... Pros: It is not a very big store but does usually have ample parking. The lines are always short in the early afternoon. I freaking love the dollar tree. I wish I had discovered this store a long time ago. This was my go-to place for picking up wrapping paper, tissue paper and gift bags this holiday season. Pros: The pricing. Cons: 1) Racism/Rudeness: Many reviewers here pointed out that the staff here are rude and I 100% agree with that. The employee (I believe her name is Stephanie and I think she is the manager) was nice to me, but there was this Asian family with a child and she treated them completely different. She pretty much thrown their purchased items in the bag. For me (I am White), she placed my items carefully in the bag. When they asked about one of the item's expiration date, she pretty much yelled at them that it is not her job and they should find it. This might be true, but she could have said this politely. 2) Items laid out all over the floor all the time. Very messy. When businesses that are secular by nature make things religious, I get uncomfortable. I can understand a couple things here and there among the merch, but there were Bible card games, coloring books, puzzles, plastic toys (did you want Mary, Moses, or David? Sorry, no Jesus), notepads, magnets, stickers, picture frames, candle holders, I don't remember what else, but it seemed everywhere I turned, I was having Christianity shoved in my face. This is Dollar Tree, not Dollar Tree For Jesus. In general, this is exactly the type of store I would refuse to give my money to, but I gave them a few bucks anyway. Was it worth getting High School Musical cereal (for a friend, I swear), and a couple unnecessary other things, when I was still supporting a business likely to donate money I gave them to uphold Prop 8 or something else I disagree with? went to shop there this evening and when I was ready to check out, I approached the cashier for her to tell me, I can't help you I have to help the next customer in the other line. So I proceeded to the line she was speaking on, and she began an argument with a woman who was in that line who wanted to purchase a balloon for her daughters first birthday. This cashier was refusing to get a balloon out of the drawer and didn't want the other cashier to help her either. This argument lasted so long that it held up the line. The amount of time that it took her to argue with her she could have gotten the balloon for her. Finally the other cashier went to retrieve a balloon and the woman was clearly aggravated. I've never witnessed such a petty argument over a balloon. I like shopping in this store every now and then, but the behavior of this cashier was totally uncalled for. read more

Dollar Tree is at a good location. Parking is not great. The primary issue I have with Dollar Tree, is the attitude of the employees 5 minutes before closing. A lot of stores(not all) like to close the store 10 to 2 minutes before closing. Does 10 minutes before closing make that much of the difference for the employees? Staying open 5 minutes after closing might make a big difference to the customers. Earles Grill understands this, Frys Electronics understands this, but some stores like to lock paying customers out 5 minutes before closing time. read more

I love the stock in the freezers. Frozen food galore of fatty foods. Fries, tater tots, etc. Mmmmm... On a random good day, you can find a surplus of items that are bigger in quantity. I was surprised to find large condiment containers for a buck. Had I known they'd sell quick, I would've bought some more. Party supplies were the same deal. The supply was actually tripled and was sold for a buck. Next time I'm hoarding up (so bad!) During the same visit, many customers had to watch a customer treat a worker so rudely. Most of us kept silent. I'm sure if someone spoke up, that lady would've gotten all up in your face. Some nerve she had trying to talk down on the staff member and trying to get em fired. I really like bargain shopping, The Dollar Store has so many bargain items that are needed. For example, name brand cleaning products like, Ajax, Lysol, etc. Having said this I would rather shop elsewhere. This location is dirty. The staff is rude, and have dismissive attitudes towards the customer. The manager, couldn't be bothered to help, On top of that, she was obnoxious. Also, the location is filthy. Their walkway is layered with garbage. It is, as if, someone went thru their trash cans, and then threw the contents everywhere. Furthermore, the staff has no customer service skills at all. They don't greet you when checking out. They don't even look up. One cashier charged me for another customer's items, because she wasn't paying attention. I have reviewed my receipts on numerous occasions, and was charged twice for the same item. Did I mention that the lines are usually long? This is such a shame, because I like the Dollar Tree. With so much competition, for the dollar consumer, you would think that the Dollar Store would want to own it. However, after observing the lack of training of their staff, I guess they don't care. The Marina Del Rey Store is better. But, overall, the $.99 Cents is my now go to dollar store. read more

I found everything I needed and more - office supplies, kitchen goods, movie theatre candy - for a dollar! The store is very clean and well organized, and all the employees were friendly. This is one of the cleaner dollar stores I've been to. And it's pretty organized. I came here looking for toys and ended up spending 30 minutes just browsing, looking for things to buy. Fortunately I'm good at resisting the need to spend money... although I still ended up buying some chocolate. Got myself a small bag of Hershey's kisses and a gigantic Santa shaped chocolate bar. I like this Dollar Tree's location. It's located near a busier intersection but they have a decent-sized parking lot which is a plus. I came in most recently to purchase some balloons and small birthday favors for a coworker on my lunch break. It was a few weeks before Christmas so their Christmas decor was in full swing. They had a really enormous selection of cute decor, almost surprisingly so. I grabbed a cute birthday hat, gift bags, and tissue paper along with some small Christmas knick-knacks for my work desk. The part where every Dollar Tree fails, and why I took 2 stars off, is the check-out line. There's always only 1 register going with 5+ people in line. I'm sure this is a reflection of poor staffing on the part of the individual stores. When I finally got to the register after 10 minutes of standing in line, I told the clerk I wanted to get 2 birthday balloons. She checked my items out, I paid for the balloons, and she told me to stand to the side and she'll help me in a moment and proceeded to check out the next customer. I would've been OK with waiting had it not been for another female employee who was standing in the corner by the balloon section for the entire time I was in the store. I saw her blow up and give some balloons to another customer when I was walking in so I was confused as to why she couldn't assist me when she saw me standing there to the side. She was on her phone basically the entire time, and was hopping off a call when the clerk finally told me to just ask her to help me. I told her what balloons I wanted and she walked over to the pre-filled balloon section and handed me one of the ones I wanted. She told me I can just look through them and take what I wanted and stepped away. When I finally got the 2 balloons, I asked her if they had any weights and she just pointed to the bin of them on one of the registers, didn't volunteer to help me put them on or anything, and went back to texting. The whole ordeal left me kind of irritated but I shrugged it off considering I was already late getting back to work thanks to the check out line and I got what I came for in spite of the poor customer experience. read more

The store could be cleaned up a bit, but one should have lower expectations when visiting the Dollar Tree. I always find cool arts & crafts items, simple frames, and cleaning products at this place. Just came here for a few household items I got some sponges, kitchen towels, hand sanitizer, and sink strainer all for $1 each. The kitchen towels will be so useful and much better alternative than paper towels, which could produce many mini paper dust that we breathe in. They also have many cleaning products. I witnessed appalling behavior from the store manager of this location yesterday, harassing and shaming a mother with a crying child. She even had the nerve to follow the mom out of the store and was either taking pictures or recording a video of her and her son. The mom was visibly shaken. As a mother myself, I was disgusted to witness such horrible behavior from the manager and I hope that the mother reports the incident to Dollar Tree corporate. read more
