I've come by here several times lately because it's close to my home and is obviously affordable. I usually get gift wrapping supplies here, but I've also bought some pet toys recently. My cat absolutely loves her dollar store toys, so much so that I got her another one today and she's already obsessed with it. The store itself is pretty much what you would expect from a dollar store. It has a lot of selection but it's messy and not the cleanest. You have to hunt for the good deals, which I don't really mind. There is usually only one cashier open even when they're busy, so the line can get a bit long when you go to check out. The employees are nice and say hello when they see you even if they are busy. I've never had a negative interaction in any of my times going here. The parking lot is a bit small and is usually almost full, even in the middle of a weekday. There are a couple of accessible spots up front. It's a bit of a pain to get out of if you're turning left onto West 11th, but that's because it's a busy street and isn't the store's fault. I've been to some dodgy dollar stores in town but this isn't one of them. I feel pretty safe and I don't feel like I need to rush to get what I need so I can leave quickly. I'll keep shopping here whenever I need something small. read more

Every employee here has been exceptionally nice to me. Like striking up a quite compliment at the register or welcoming people when they come in type nice. I wouldn't even be that nice if I worked retail- I would be a complete zombie. There's an ever changing selection here, but I always manage to get 5 more items than I anticipated but I swear all of them are useful! read more

An older woman was ringing me up. I didn't find any employees during my shopping to ask if they had any fake flowers. When I asked her she seemed annoyed and gave me an eye roll. When I returned she was just as cold. Didn't have a great experience and the least she could have done was reply when I told her I hope she has a good day. read more

Come to the Dollar Tree is a big store with a wide variety of things from kitchen wear, school supplies, food and even cards for a thank you for someone. They have great prices everything is a DOLLAR you can't beat that!! read more

Manager can be rude, but employees are nice, their selection is way more huge sure than 2010. Honestly makes me really happy how expanding it is but it's very sad that homeless or people that are stealing or just stealing from the dollar tree... I do like the prices with most of everything being only $1.25 some good costs up to be about five dollar range but that makes sense bit of a smaller selection than the other locations read more

I came in this store about an hour ago with my mother and my husband. Once was enough, and I will never return again. I will not allow my family to shop in here either, the experience was that bad. We had just finished eating at Izzy's nearby and stopped in here because I wouldn't have made it to the store in Springfield before they closed. I needed a gift bag and a birthday card on very short notice, so this was the best place to stop. My mother needed to use the bathroom while we were there. So I sent her into the store and my husband and I followed a moment later. I hadn't been in here in quite some time, so I had no idea where they were. I told her to ask an employee. That was a mistake. She asked an employee named Melissa where the bathroom was. Her response was in an accusatory tone, asking my mother if she planned to buy something. My mother informed her that the rest of her party, my husband and I, were on our way in, and we would all be shopping in the store. She finally directs my mother to the bathroom, without informing her that she needed a key. Melissa lazily wandered in the same direction behind her, finally saying she had the key. My mother asked her to hurry up, as she clearly was taking her time. She took enough time that my mother almost had an accident. My mother is currently undergoing chemo treatments, so these chemicals mess with her digestive system. Lets just say, when she has to go, she has to go! So for Melissa to not only waste time informing her of the restrooms are for paying customer only policy in an accusatory manner, but then not tell her she needed a key, and taking her time to where my mother was very close to an accident, is not only degrading, it's disrespectful. It also made my mother cry, to simply need to use the bathroom, and have someone embarrass her like that. When I walked in with my husband, we were not greeted, instead given the evil eye and nothing more by Melissa. My mother comes out to tell me not to buy much in here, and details her bad experience. I elected to only spend $1.50, when this could have been a $10-20 trip, had they not treated my mother so badly. Then, as my mother is looking at something nearby, Melissa tells another employee, Sylvia, to go check the bathroom because she had not seen my mother come out. Melissa was yelling this, as she had the vacuum on, so she could be heard talking about my mother through the entire store. My mother walked up to her and said she was out, so not to worry. She proceeds to scream thank you at my mother, in her attempt at being nice, but it was clear she was just being a hostile bitch. We proceed to the cash register where my mother tells Melissa how rude she was and that she didn't appreciate it. Melissa says in a hostile tone that she was simply doing her job. My mother said she didn't have to be rude about it. Melissa's response was, "whatever. I'm not going to waste my time arguing with you." Now, it thoroughly pisses me off when anyone over the age of 13 uses the word whatever. This was coming out of a 55 year old woman. Customer service is clearly not her strong point. I hope Melissa feels good about degrading a 70 year old woman who's only crime was desperately needing to use the bathroom before going shopping in the store. Once Melissa refused to apologize for her behavior at the register and continued to disrespect my mother, she began to cry. What kind of a person can feel good about making an elderly woman cry for needing to use the bathroom? I've never experienced someone being that horrible to a customer. I wouldn't even dream of being that nasty to a person on the street, let alone a paying customer in a store. I've also never experienced this at any Dollar Tree stores before this. Melissa was an absolute embarrassment to the Dollar Tree brand name. Will I return to this store? There is not a snowball's chance in hell. I will never allow my family to shop in this store at any point in their lifetimes. I will go out of the way to go to the one in Springfield, near Winco. They understand customer service and would never even come close to degrading their customers and reducing them to tears like they did in this store. I would highly recommend that if you have to visit a Dollar Tree location, go to the one in Springfield. Review 31 of 2017. read more

It's a dollar store, it meets the expectations that you'd have for one. They stay open pretty late, too.

I like going here for gift wrapping supplies, quick holiday decorations, glow sticks for the kids, buckets for the beach, and other little things. Once though a cashier sneezed into his hand and then rung up my stuff without using hand sanitizer which was really disgusting. This is during a pandemic as well. Anyway I'll still shop here but that event was gross. read more

This Dollar Tree is so crowded and unorganized it gives me anxiety going in there. I made it a point to only go here if it's a emergency. Either they need a bigger building or less inventory. It gets to be overwhelming with no organizations and stuff just put wherever but hey everybody is only a buck so how could you complain about that. read more

I can't believe I'm reviewing the Dollar Tree because I'm sure by now most people know what they are getting themselves into when they come here. I just wanted to point out a few items that are definitely worth the trip here if you're trying to save money: Hair ties Wrapping paper/bows and ribbons and cheap holiday ornaments/accessories Tape Balloons (with or without helium) Sharpies Paper plates/napkins Plastic wrap/plastic sandwich bags Funnels for crafts Heavy duty cleaning supplies like Drain-O and toilet brushes Birthday cards Batteries That pretty much sums up what I think is worth coming here for. Everything in here is definitely cheap and when it comes to toys or any large items, expect them to break easily into cheap plastic pieces. The store is very cluttered so it can be hard to find things sometimes and I find that they don't necessarily have the best deal on certain items even if it is 1$. read more

This store has a good selection, and good prices. Unfortunately the customer service is lacking. If you try to find an employee to ask where something is, they will often go the opposite way. The lines are horrible, they have four or more registers but typically only 1 of them is open even if there is a long line. I have seen 2 open at times, but rarely three. I have seen a line of 20 people and they did not open a second register until I had been already waiting for longer than 15 minutes. When I asked to speak to the manager they said that the manager was hiding in the office. They need to hire enough people to run the store, instead of not having enough people for customer service. read more

Everyone there is really nice and they have a great selection I am always offered to help buy any of the employees and out check out their super friendly. A couple Sundays ago I was in there and I had my headphones on, just shopping and looking, around filling up my cart. Because I work 70 hours a week, Sunday night is t only time I'm allowed to take advantage of shopping here. So last Sunday there was this worker who I was going to ask her something but she was talking crap about another dollar store worker pretty loudly and she just seem like she was in a really bad mood so I didn't even bother But then I had to use the restroom so I had to ask her and she let me use it however made it as known that is was an extreme inconvenience. So when I come out I continue shopping with my headphones in and I keep seeing her putting stuff away and complaining about all the people who put things in the wrong area. End it seemed almost every aisle I went down she will audibly sigh and say occurs under her breath when she noticed something in the wrong area and I was wondering why it was so quiet in there and I could hear her complaint so well. Well the store had closed 1/2 hour ago but since I had my headphones on I guess I never heard the announcement and no one told me. A really nice woman came up to me and said oh my gosh oh my gosh we closed I half hour ago here let me get you checked out and we laughed about it and I was so embarrassed like mortified. it's now the next Sunday and I'm leaving the dollar store right now but sitting in the parking lot writing this because three minutes before they close they told everyone to bring their stuff to the cashier and this time I heard it but all of a sudden I feel someone looking at me and it is the same woman who was rude to me last time and she is audibly saying to another employeee things like " oh my god are you serious is that her oh no she is not going to she's not I'm not gonna let her. what the hell oh my g-dd I will lose my mind are you serious why is she here again at the same time" Only she was looking directly at me and I was about 30 feet away and so then I felt really awkward and uncomfortable because I felt like I was in high school and the mean girls were bullying me. Especially since she was so rude to me last time. And I had also wondered why she was so mad since the last time I was in there past store Closing hours, I had never even questioned that the store had closed because she was literally with me in the aisles I was shopping in and she hasn't said a word that the store was closed It sucks now I feel as though I'm going to be recognized by the entire store because she obviously Had told a lot of people what happened the prior Sunday and from all my account she was convinced I had done this on purpose and I did not care about anyone or anything except myself. Anyway it was really mean I literally felt bullied by the people who work at a store I'm shopping at and it's all because of one person and I could not believe that she looked at me and audibly started talking shit about me and saying how she was going to lose her mind etc. This is the first time I really want to name drop so maybe your boss will see this and not to hmget her fired but To maybe make her know that it is not appropriate to Verbalee complain about customers and how stupid they are ans also ita not okay to bully them no matter what Heynis offense she felt may have been committed to her. I'm too embarrassed to ever go back there now and I just think it's fucking shitty I work 70 hours a week and I'm pretty sure that me being in the store after hours is legally their fault and I have recourse to do something about it but I'm not a disgusting person so I didn't do that. It just makes me mad because perhaps she should've been apologetic because I don't want to be asked in a store alone when the doors are locked with people I don't now that's scary to me but instead she targeted me so everyone could hear and made me feel like I was a crazy meth head lady that came in there and just stayed and tried to hide so I could sleep in there something I don't now fuck her seriously maybe I will come back every Sunday night and just wait until the last fucking second to check out and then go to Miss place items bc i know how much she hates putting them back Or maybe I should sue them because of the incident last Sunday where I was basically locked in their store after hours but I'd rather just have her say sorry for being such a fucking c word and i know thays bad but Who gets away with acting like that I hope she's not the manager. read more

Though I have many years of shopping experience, I rarely write a bad review. First, I try to work it our with the store personnel. However, today my experience at Dollar Tree was so bad that I'll never buy anything from them again. Went I entered the store, I was feeling pretty good about myself. After finishing work, I had decided to buy cleaning supplies for someone so poor that she virtually has none. After, I got to the checkout stand and put my items on the belt, I saw that my hands had slimy film on them. I looked closely at the two soap bottles and saw that they were oozing liquid from under the caps. I also noticed that there was comet powder leaking out from that product. Instead of using people's time in the line by making my slow way back to get replacements (I'm in my 70's), I told the cashier what had happened and asked nicely if there was someone available to replace the items He sneered at me and snapped, "Well, I'm the one who has to do it." I said, "I'm sorry, I didn't want to take you away from the cash register." He demanded,, "Didn't you notice before you put the stuff down." By then I was upset. I said, "Well, obviously I didn't." Just then, a woman customer behind me spoke up: "You are so rude," she said, "and I'm the witness." At first, I thought she was speaking to the cashier, but she was speaking to me, and the cashier did nothing to stop her or diffuse the situation. I told the customer to stay out of it, but she wouldn't, so to get help, I asked to talk with the supervisor who, it turns out, had been standing nearby and doing nothing. The cashier turned to the supervisor and said, "she [referring to me] made a mess of my station." The supervisor approached me, she had a scowl on her face directed at me. She, started looking at the items, and ignoring my upset. i said to her, "I can't believe this. I'm in shock." I walked out of the store. I could hear them making nasty comments about me as I left. All the money I've spent at Dollar Tree over the years and the many friends that I've made into customers, all for this. PS, I work in Customer Service. I would have apologized to me, the customer, that the stocker didn't notice the defective items. I would have told the other customer that everything was ok. I would have handed me a paper towel to clean my hands. read more

Out of all of the dollar tree's i've been to this one is probably the best. The place is big for a dollar store-also they have a pretty decent variety of stuff. Sometimes I find name brande makeup like Maybelline and L'oreal. Also, they a huge selection of gift wrapping items. I go to this dollar tree around the holidays mainly because they have tons and tons of seasonal decorations. read more

They have a really great manager here! She has wonderful customer service skills and knows how to treat her customers right. Very helpful if you can't find an item and need assistance. Many of the other dollars store don't compare. read more
