I went in there today and the place looked like trash. A lot of the items on the shelves are unorganized and things are just kind of placed any old way. The real reason why I am making this review is because the woman who helped me at the front was not kind or attentive to me. She rang me up as anyone would, but the bag that I had been given, had a torn handle and when I requested a bag with a handle, she looked at me like I was crazy. She removed the new bag from the hooks and kind of tossed it at me. She then began to ring up the next customer and I was struggling to put my items in the new bag with the handle. I asked her if she could hold the bag open so I could take the old bag of items and just put the old bag into the new bag and she again looked at me like I was crazy. I about flipped out on her, but I kept my composure. After all, it was just a plastic bag. But a little courtesy goes a long way when it comes to customer service. A customer deserves a bag with a handle. I just remind myself that she probably works at dollar tree for a reason. read more

First time at this location, store clean and lots of stock. Did not find exactly what I was looking for but did find some items to buy. At checkout the cashier seemed annoyed at me, I paid cash and was not interacting with the card terminal. She asked me if I wanted a receipt and she glared at me and hit the terminal to indicate no receipt. I had forgotten about how their system works. I did not mean to make it harder for her, I paid with cash so it did not dawn on me to push any buttons on the keypad. Sorry ma'am nothing personal. This DT has the absolute worst customer service. I have been here many times, but my last experience was awful. Yes, the lines were long, but in my last trip the cashier was unloading all of his personal problems on the customer in front of me. That particular customer was empathetic to a point, but it was clear that the cashier was far more in need of a therapist than a job paying minimum wage. Then it was my turn. He started telling me his personal life problems. I am not a licensed therapist, so I kind of nodded at the right points. He rung me up, clearly hating the process. He asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes, pointing out that I like to reuse the bags for small trash cans in my house. He then said "I hate it when people say that." That is by far some of the worst customer service of all time. It was a Saturday night on December 17,2022 at 08:55 pm. The store closes at 09:00 pm, oh good I'm at the door and just need to grab some food and drink real quick. An employee is at the door and through closed doors says they are closed. Yet they close at 09:00, the employee states there is customers in the store and we would not be able to get everyone out by nine. Customers Service is out the window, if a customer gets to the store before closing then they should get in. As any store business that cares about their customers would agree. At closing time doors are locked and the renaming customers are told that it is closing time and need to finish their shopping and come to the register to checkout. If it takes you another 10-15 minutes to finalize sales and clear the store, then so be it. Bar a emergency if a store houses are 10a-9p, then that is how long the doors should be unlocked. What a great store! Very well stocked with some of the best variety I've ever seen for a Dollar Tree. The story was tidy and well kept. Staff was super helpful and very kind. I heard them numerous times personally assisting customers and providing store information. We were greeted upon entering by an employee at the register. His greeting was jovial and personalized. He thanked my husband for his service and said their store loved serving our service members. We ended up at his register and met Montez. He was so polite and exuded customer service. To the young gentleman cashier. You engaged with all the other customers when ringing them up. When it was time to ring up the items I was purchasing you did not acknowledge me. Not even letting me know the total of my purchase. I pushed yes on the key pad for a reciept just to see if you'd acknowledge me and you didn't. Great little dollar store. Always a variety and fairly clean. The staff are pleasant and do their best as the clientele here is always entertaining. On my last visit there was a mile-long line and every check-stand was open. There were several interesting folks, great for people watching, and it was very entertaining. I appreciate the security staff here at the Lakewood Towne Center, as you never know when a crazy fight will break out or interesting folks doing/saying crazy things causing security to respond. Love their prices on greeting cards or whatever treasures you may find. read more

I haven't been to a Dollar Tree in 10 years! No such place exists in Hawaii T_T This store was more dirtier then the ones I been in the past, but at least it was organized. Jada the cashier they had working today was beyond rude as well as disrespectful and had no customer service. They had 2 lines open. Jade working the 2nd line. I was in the first line. I saw Jada's line was moving faster so I went to hers. When I was next she put up her This Register is Closed sign. So I walked back to line 1 where I originally started. That cashier had someone buying a lot of items. So waiting a little more, having a women and then a man still in front of me in line. I see and hear Jada the cashier tell the man in front of me to come to her register and that she'll check him out. So after spending time in Sacramento, CA I fell in love with dollar stores. Down there we had a Dollar Tree and the 99 only store. Dollar Tree was my fall back store. Pros: Well, $1 is what things cost Savings!!!! Decent generic selections Not afraid to open another cash register Cons: It's a dollar store You get what you pay for No real brand names but this is NOT always the case It's in the old Lakewood Mall complex next to Target, bad location All in all I am pleased with this store and chain. I have yet to leave disappointed. They have a great selection of minor items and even some other things. Cheap table clothes, plastic wear, and party=ish supplies at $1 a pop! 2.5 liter soda pop for $1 each, and microwave cheeseburgers and sandwiches for ... you guessed it, a Dollar! This dollar tree seemed neat & organized. What turned me off to it though was the rude treatment by the employee I came in contact with. I got in line for the only check stand with the light on to find no cashier there. I waited 2 fill minutes but no one came to help me. The only employee I saw, a woman named Joann, was organizing balloons in the area in the back corner. I said "Excuse me, was someone coming to open the check stand" & she said in a rude voice "Yeah, I'll be there in a minute" Ooook if you had acknowledged me from the beginning it'd be a different story but treating customers like they are a nuisance is just not good business. read more

This is the worst store I've ever been to in my life. There were only 2 cashiers and the both of the lines were leading to the back of the store. One cashier calls for backup in another lane so another cashier opened the lane. He checked out only TWO people and then he RUDELY told me and another lady that he was closed and to get in another lane. Mind you, me and this old lady had just waited probably 20 minutes in the first lane we were in so we both had to go to the end of the lines and we waited another 20 minutes. So this dollar tree is probably one of the more organized ones I've ever come across. They have a very nice variety of merchandise which is always a plus. The customer service is "so, so". You have some very pleasant individuals and some with not as much personality. They are located in an ideal location so whatever you don't find there, there are plenty other options to shop. I'm rating this one star since I can't rate it any lower. The cash register is always backed up and even though you see atleast 4 other people, nobody opens a second register. It's dirty, and the employees are rude! I witnessed two female employees, one blonde and one with ugly fake eyebrows, gang up on a lady who put some products down that she and her significant other didn't want. I know this because I was standing by them when they had the conversation. The two employees ganged up on the lady accusing her of stealing. Once the Lady showed them she didn't have anything they started yelling/ lecturing her about putting stuff back where she got it. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! What kind of training do this company provide that says it's ok to speak to a customer like that? My guess is none! I will never shop here again and have told all my friends, family, and coworkers about this. VERY VERY unprofessional and an embarrassment to the company! read more
