Alas, this is not a bad option for low stakes items (cleaning products, decorative seasonal items, supplies) where top quality isn't the goal. Most items are $1.25 but there are items that are more $5 etc. They do have some brand name items like Colgate and processed foods. This is about Dollar Tree, store number 11045,,123 Rockland Center, Nanuet, NY. The shopping plaza where Aldis is located. Normally, I love this store. Everyone is helpful and nice. BUT today, I was treated like crap. The white lady employee with the longer blonde/gray hair, what a disrespectful and nasty cow. Not only to me but to a sweet old lady. The tone and the words used, unnecessary. There is a way to speak to people, not only on your private life, but WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC! And when I said, please don't speak to me like that, she WENT OFF. I wasnt able to catch her name as she had it hidden. The first time she nastily TOLD me something, I answered, I'm not leaning on the display, I'm looking past it. "I SAW YOU AND YOURE DOING IT AGAIN!" I was holding it so I wouldn't knock it over. I just walked away. After a bit I came back around to the aisle as I needed something in it, she went apeshit. I replied, I take responsibility for myslef of I slip on the damp floor, I need something and I'm leaving. She just. Would. Not. Stop. And then that's when I matched energy. What employee acts like that? And interacts with customers so aggressively. And yes, I calle d her óut on her behaviour. How dare you take that tone with a customer. She also over theatrically "acted" out what I supposedly did to her manager? Co worker? Who did NOTHING to deescalate her behaviour. If and when you go into this particular Dollar Tree, and she's working, just leave. Side note, I never write bad reviews unless they are 100% warranted. Nothing there is $1 anymore. A lot of higher priced items are not marked. Not sure if this employee was the manager, but she is very rude and condescending as if she doesn't like her job or people in general. I put something back and she came up right over me and straightened the item to her liking. No excuse me, nothing. I thanked her and she gave me the nastiest look. Lo and behold, I recognized her from working at the Dollar tree in Valley Cottage. The same condescending attitude towards everyone, not just myself. I observed her interactions several times in the past there, and no, she is not helpful, mumbles under her breath and appears annoyed at everyone. She's on the shorter side. Appears to be Spanish. You'll know who she is when you see her. She's the one with the bad attitude. Why she's still employed there? Dollar tree must be desperate for staff. Will not go back. read more

Came to this store to check it out since it was new. Was on line and the girl says I have to go to the bathroom and proceeds to tell me to go to the other line. I go to the other line and while waiting the other girl comes back opens up and says I'm open before I could move she takes the people who were behind me first instead of saying next person on line. I asked to speak with the manager l. When he came over I said I know you have your hands full but I would like to speak with you when my transaction is done. I waited for him but he never came back. Then there was a problem with the card machine not being able to take the cards. I wasn't upset over that because these things happen. The girl at the register then asked me if I had cash on me I said no only card she said well it's not working. I said okay then I guess I can't buy anything. She then looks at me and says well now because you can't buy anything we have to put this stuff away. I will never ever step foot in another dollar tree again and I will make sure that all my friends and family know that the customer service is horrendous at this store. i was in rockland county for a birthday party and after 30 minutes of screaming kids and adults gossiping too much i decided to take a drive and i stumbled across a dollar tree. store . place is big but too messy and disorganized but to be honest they have a good variety of dollar tree stuff. it should now be called the 5 quarters tree as each item is 1.25 but still worth it for a large bag of napkins, giant bottle of liquid diswashing soap and a large container of clorox bleach knockoff. in 25 minutes i doled out 43 bucks but i got plenty of useful stuff. the plus / they got plenty of stuff, the minus/ store is a mess and only one cashier open working at snails pace. overall 3 stars as i enjoyed being here over screaming brats and intoxicated adult morons. read more

I live down the street and every time I've been in this store for the last two years it's nothing but trash on the floor, stock spilling out into asked. They don't stock the shelves, people pull product from cardboard boxes on the floor and the staff is awful. They don't make eye contact. They don't speak to you. I wasn't even told my total at the register. They should bring some senior management in, close the store for a few days clean and stock everything and do a clean sweep of staff. My friend got locked in the store bathroom for about 25 mins on 4/19/14 at 52 Rockland Plaza (store 3699 - Nanuet, NY). The asst. manager Joanna G was horrible in handling the problem. She was nasty as if it was my friends fault and only agreed to break the bathroom door after my friend starting crying and I told her I was calling the "fire department" and it was a health hazard by friend was locked behind a bathroom door for nearly 27 mins. I asked the store manager where is her empathy and how would she feel if this situation happened to her mother? She said, it wouldn't. What a nasty response! Joanna lacked professionalism and said she does not need to apologize for the incident. She yelled at us and said, accidents do happen and it is not the store fault and rolled her eyes at us and other customers came up to us giving us their support for the way she treated her owe customers. I told Joanna she needs better leadership skills to learn how to deal with customers and she yelled she is fine. I will report this situation to the store manager Matt and follow up with a lawyer, since my friend had to seek medical attention for heart problems and stress following the distress of getting locked in bathroom and getting yelled at and embarrassed by the asst. manage Joann who mistreats customers and lack problem solving skills/decision making skills, and have poor communication skills. This store is a complete mess and so disorganized - boxes everywhere, items on the floor. I've never come into this store and it has looked neat. I came in needing some items one day and the line was ridiculously long. There was only one employee at the cash register and the manager refused to come out of the backroom to assist her. A customer went back to the back to try and get the manager herself and got cursed out. The poor employee at the register was reduced to tears because she felt so overwhelmed. I think the staff majority at least hate it. They always look miserable. Some look like they just got out jail and are in a work release program. Lines are always long. I went to this Dollar Tree for a few simple items and went I walked into the store I was absolutely shocked at the horrible condition it was in. The store looked like it had been completely ransacked. It was dirty looking and not a pleasant place to shop. I understand that this store is in a very busy location and on a Sunday afternoon will reflect that, but this store gave me the impression that absolutely no effort is put into the end of the day recovery most retail stores put into place. I feel like is so to poor management or the store being severely understaffed. The staff was inattentive which partially explained why the store was the way it is. I used to like this location but lately there seems to be quite a bit that is out of stock on the shelves, and the store is messy and dirty. Today, I was looking for stuff and there were lots of unopened shipping boxes blocking shelves, in more than one aisle, with inventory that has not been put out yet. I was going to purchase a container I found, to use in my kitchen, but I saw what I think might be rodent droppings on the shelf... Also there was a hairbrush I picked up to look at, and there was hair throughout it, and the package had something sticky on it. Yuck. I think they might be understaffed though; there were only 2 people in there today, and last time I was in there the lines were very long. I will wait a while before going back there.
