The selection was excellent. No restrooms for the public is problematic when you are shopping with a young child. Despite the "demographics", which was the cited reason for not allowing customers to use the restrooms, the restrooms should be available for paying customers. Real customers seldom trash a restroom or use it as a spot for drug abuse. Consider some way to have a "key" protocol so you don't lose customers. Thank God for Target which allows anyone to use their restrooms (which were immaculate). Perhaps get some training from Target as to how to keep your restrooms open, available, and drug free. read more

Dollar Tree used to be good when they had the fancy paper they would roll your glassware in and the music they had in the stores. Then they cut all that out and raised prices and put in self checkout lanes and everyone who shops there is now a cashier and bag our own merch while Dollar Tree gets free labor (as well as other stores who do the same) and we pay the privilege for doing so. I asked for help in buying balloons for a special occasion. The worker handed me a pair of scissors and told me to cut my own off the cart of pre blown balloons while she stood there swinging a pair of keys around. I'm like really now I'm cutting my own balloons? I asked her what she was getting paid to do. I cut my own off the cart (how tacky is that?) and then she had the gall to say next time you can ask for help and I'll help you! I'm like WTF? didn't I just do that? If you're getting OLD-er & need reading glasses because your ophthalmologist broke your heart by telling you your prescription became stronger (heehee ok my heart has healed); then dollar stores are great!! They had hundreds of glasses to choose from for only dollar $1 each! I picked up nine (9) different styles/colors. They do have more masculine styles available too. So much cheaper than other non-dollar stores you can buy at. You can definitely have backups in different rooms at home, work, car, purses & etc. They are good about current expiration dates on items. I personally sterilized/cleaned everything. I have seen a spill or two here but for the most part it looks relatively organized & clean-ish w/ wide variety. I've been here twice. PS: I did noticed the attempted escaping of balloons on the ceiling & alas they are doomed. RIP balloons. read more

This place is filthy! This is without a doubt the most run-down, disgusting Dollar Tree that I have ever been to. The bathrooms were horrid. There appeared to be fecal matter on the wall in the men's bathroom. The main store area had dirty floors that looked like they hadn't been mopped in weeks. Items on the shelves were scattered as if a tornado ripped through the store. Balloons also filled the ceiling, which seemed to be coming apart. This is the kind of Dollar Tree I would envision following an apocalypse! I even caught a glimpse of the area behind the main store area where discarded cardboard boxes were stacked to the ceiling. I'd give this place one star, but the employees were nice. In particular, the cashier we had was very polite. read more

Now there are many stores that are specific to only selling "Dollar" merchandise. This one I have to say truly is worth every buck you spend. This is a large store will mass inventory all for a dollar or less. Large isle filled with all the great stuff people like from the floor to the top of the shelf. I frequent shop this location. It is not the neatest (meaning isles neat and organized). They don't seem to have anyone walk the floors to straighten the isles. Some isles are a complete mess due to mass stock of items. They also have long lines at the register. They could use an extra cashier especially when it is busy. However, I will not frown apon that as this store really has many great qualities.I am always greeted. The staff is super friendly and willing to help. There are many great options to choose from which is why I always return. read more

I don't do dollar stores often, but I thought I'd head in to this one a couple of weeks back as I was in need of some Halloween candy and anything else that struck my fancy. I wasn't impressed. The store had a poor selection, but I managed to find about $30 worth of things to purchase. It didn't seem very clean or organized either. At check-out, the woman was not friendly at all and when I went to leave with my cart, I was stopped at the door by the big pole attached to the car. (I guess the carts are only to be used inside the store and this stops them from leaving). I do not plan on returning to this store. If you are interested in visiting a store for cheap / affordable items of all kinds, I think the 99 cent store may be a better option. They carry produce and more food products also. I'll be taking my dollars elsewhere moving forward. Sorry dollar tree. read more

I love the products, but once again we were greeted at the front door by one of the workers.  And at first when walking up to the door we were thinking, "awe how nice they have a greeter."  Well that couldnt be further from the truth! Lol .  Starting anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes before closing an employee stands at the front door not to greet customers coming in but to tell them when they are closing. And you do not even get a "hello, welcome etc".  They simply want to hammer in how many minutes before they close. Hence the "I want to get home to my boo, or whatever" becomes the clear focus for any customer coming in after 8pm. Not only that they start announcing the countdown of when they are closing, and they dont say what time it is rather they say "we will be closing in 20 minutes etc".   So at either 8:50 or 8:55 depending on the night; they are saying they are closed 5 to 10 minutes before 9 and begin locking the doors prior to 9.  For most retail businesses this operates in the oppisite order.  They allow an extra 10 minutes past closing to get all the customers checked out.  The problem isnt so much that they are clearly being sneaky by not saying what time it is. Because by using minutes as a closing countdown they can avoid any issues about closing before 9.  But from the moment you meet the gatekeeper at the front door who does not so much as even give a friendly hello, but rather advises you how many minutes are left before their nightly early closing.  The experience of tension to hurry up and get the hell out; because us poor employees who have worked so hard can go home.  Hence the whole time you are hearing a countdown all the way to the 3,2 & 1 minute mark!  I am not even kidding!  Lol. Thus anyone who has any business sense understands this type of environment is not conducive in creating an atmosphere that makes customers spend the most money possible.  Being in management for 20 plus years and taking over struggling teams like this.  I would classify this as a "me and I centered atmosphere" that is no longer customer focused but rather employee focused.  Be it wanting to get home and off the clock so badly they have become clock watchers who are only there for a paycheck.  And this shows with how the customer isnt even really treated like a customer anymore who is wanted and appreciated, but rather is treated as just another obstacle that they have to deal with in their quest to leave and clock out. Really its quite sad but typically this happens from both line level employees and mid pay grade managers feeling they can do what they want because no one will do anything to them anyway.  I get the GM cant be there all the time.  But surely he can log onto the store cameras and tell his or her staff if they are seen standing at the front door again giving the store closes in (blank) to customers that appropriate disciplinary action will happen.   And that if they continue giving countdowns every 5 minutes and closing before 9pm again that the appropriate disciplinary action will be given.  This has been a common theme since covid-19.  And I get when covid first hit for a few months it took time to adjust.  However to still be doing it at this point is rediculous.  Goodluck, hopefully these issues can get resolved before this team sinks further into the abyss of a negative attitude about their employment. And especially for those who see this job as a potential career path in which they have a chance of doing great with the right mentorship and leadership. Cheers read more

Out of all the dollar tree stores I've been to, I would have to say this is the worst. The store is very messy and the staff is "usually" not friendly, I have had two cashier out of 30+ times I've been here actually ask me how I am doing or if I found everything alright. The line wait is worse than other ones (this doesn't bother me that much because it is a busy store and I understand that.) This place does have a GREAT selection on Kitchenware, frozen foods and toys but a terrible selection on dry food, electronic accessories, crafts, pet supplies, candy, etc. compared to the other Dollar Trees I've been to. Note to Manager: I do not know who is charge of ordering products for this specific store but they need to understand balance; spend less money on plates and bowls as far as the eye can see and instead put a little more product in your electronic selection (like aux cords) or dry foods (like more cereal), other stores in this company do it, you should too. Also, hire people that have manners. Note to Employees: There is absolutely no reason you should not have manners. I have worked as a cashier for minimum wage and have never forgotten basic etiquette which is why I now make dollars above minimum wage to do the same shit you guys do. You work in customer service, this is entailed in the job. If you continue to act this way at your job, you are going to be stuck at shitty jobs like this for the rest of your life. read more

As I pulled up to the Dollar Tree around 40th St and Thomas, I was filled with excited anticipation. I love the Dollar Tree stores. There is always the possibility that I am going to find some fantastic treasure for only $1! I walked in and grabbed a basket. There was a line of 7-8 miserable looking people waiting in the sole open checkout lane. I don't think these people were as excited as me to be in the Dollar Tree. Too bad for them. I try to walk down every aisle to make sure I don't miss any great finds. The toy aisles actually looked like there had been a monsoon inside the store. There were toys all over the floor. As I looked at the toys, I imagined all the slobber and snot that was probably all over them already. I'm 35, I don't need toys, and I don't want a communicable disease, so I moved on. I did want an address book, and some desk accessories. As I was looking for these items kids were running free without supervision. One kid was bouncing a ball, another was hitting something with a plastic toy. Hey, I'm on their turf, so I try to ignore it all and keep shopping. Then I hear the squeaking. It's like one of those dog chew toys that squeak. A child is squeezing it incessantly for over 5 minutes straight. I actually walk by the aisle to see if he is supervised, and both his parents are right next to him. I get the world will need future assholes to replace the ones that will die in 15 years, so these parents are training one. I still can't complain, I knew where I was going, so I tried to ignore it and keep shopping. One of my favorite things for $1 were the mystery bags. There is a girl and a boy mystery bag. They are paper bags, and they are stapled shut. I always wonder what is in them, but I won't buy them because I feel like they have to be a trick. Like you get some piece of crap in your bag, and then you've wasted a $1. OK, I actually do waste more than $1 on crap I can see, but at least I know what I am getting into. I still really want to know what is in those bags though! I found eight useful items in all, and I couldn't take the squeaky toy anymore, so I got in line to check out. Luckily, I was next!. The checkout girl had really dark circles under her eyes and did not say one word. She looked like she was barely holding it together. I personally think it added to the ambiance of the Dollar Tree. It's not like we needed to converse at all. I happily took my eight items home. I am already thinking about my next treasure hunt to the Dollar Tree on Broadway in Tempe. I've been frequenting the Dollar store for the past three weeks while shopping for a work project. I have bought just about every pair of safety scissors in Phoenix, playdough, and other small manipulatives for elementary reading and math kids. Anytime I need cleaning supplies for home I head straight to this Dollar Tree Store. They have the BEST carpet cleaner called LA's Totally Awesome Carpet Spot and Stain Remover. It really works!! The Dollar Tree is a great place to stock up on cheap party decorations. Shopping at the Dollar Tree is kinda like buying a Saturn. You know the price before you walk in and how much you're going to spend before you check out. I love that! read more

Wow! This store is HUGE! I honestly think it is the biggest Dollar Tree I have ever been in. The store is well lit, well stocked, and for the most part, clean and organized. I actually like this particular location because it is spacious and has a lot to choose from. As far as cleanliness, it could use some improvement, but it's not as bad as other stores. I live an equal distance between the Dollar Tree and a 99 Cents Only store. This store is a good dollar store to get some items like cheese curds (sometimes), toiletries, and some dry snack foods. While this is a good location, I prefer the 99 Cents Only store because they have a produce department and usually a better selection of healthy snack foods like pistachios. read more

This Dollar Tree was initially difficult to find, but I finally did. It's on the south side of Thomas near 40th Street. It's actually quite well-stocked and neat for a Dollar Tree; I've been in Dollar Trees that were really messy and unorganized. This store has greeting cards, gift wrap/bags, a kitchen section, toys, home cleaning products, home decor, and a large section of food. I came for cards and gift wrap, but you could really save some money by buying things for home that cost more elsewhere. Love the Dollar Tree. I'm an artist blah blah blah, could spend all my time YouTube'n showcasing DollarTree craft and home hacks yada yada yada. The thing is though, no matter the location, I don't like going into this store. The atmosphere is dreary, likely because of the type of lighting used and no music is played. I have avoided these stores for this reason. Around the beginning of the pandemic my finance and I moved into a new place. We discovered our common passion for DIY projects was much deeper than we realized about another and soon our trips to the tagged location Dollar Tree became an addiction. Our shopping is usually done late When the virus hit everywhere we went was pushing customers out the door with obnoxious announcements that carried tones making you feel like a bum cousin that long overstayed their welcome. Usually that cousin doesn't come with money waiting to be spent when coming through the door and the person opening their doors aren't relying on their cousin to keep a paycheck. Of all places, this store was the worst, from start to finish. The manager leaning at the door was there to greet us while we were still in the parking lot with a hawkeyed stare and as we stepped onto the sidewalk, given a whippy, "we ARE closing in 10 minutes", when in reality it was 20 minutes. Declarations of time were sped up; a quarter till we had 5 minutes, ten till we had 2 minutes remaining and with 5 actual minutes left they were now closed to be reminded every single minute thereafter, this was every visit. Although this treatment was offensive, there was a certain clause of empathy reserved with the current state of our world. Dollar Tree wasn't isolated at the time, but after what happened last week that's no longer the case. Most businesses by now have sat back in the sanity chair and chilled the urgency to get customers out. Apparent habits have leeched on here, either that or it's suddenly lawful to lock public facilities during the stores open hours with customers still inside. Not according to OSHA and the regulator takes this action very seriously. Industry safety citations have been known to cost nearly $100,00 in fines particularly on this topic alone. When the manager let the exiting customers out we proceeded to enter the store at 8:49pm, having waited 4 minutes already. She stepped in front of us exclaiming they were closed. We needed 3 items, all of which we knew the exact spot to locate in the store. Now at this point if I wanted my customer out that bad I would ask each of them what I could find for them while they still enjoy browsing our aisles, not these bullies. We didn't give much choice to be let in, but reminded how much they hate their job by announcing the "new" open store hours every 30 seconds. I spotted about 10 other customers, immediately began considering where we would escape in case of a fire, how spread out everyone was, what direction they'd be running from and what device would be used to break the glass of the exit door to get out, most likely a cash register. On top of worrying about our safety as I scurry through the aisles I noticed consumer tornado that had perpetually passed through there and it made more sense. They hit the panic button. The one that says, "In case of an emergency, this door must remain unlocked during business hours", senselessly jeopardizing people's lives to selfishly save yourself a few minutes of work. Unacceptable. But yeah, I wouldn't have wanted to spend all night cleaning up that mess either, but I suppose if I were on top of my job it may have not been as bad. I see things out of place all the time that I saw in the same place the previous week, so much for disaster prevention and ensuring the safety of your customers. Bad, bad, bad. I'm actually sad about this, because it's the first Dollar Tree I've experienced where the schematics made sense and the lighting was good. Although it would be nice to have some music I didn't even miss that much. Hmm, here's another tasty tip, there's psychology behind that music. I have never experienced, feeling short of being spit on, such resentful, disrespectful, and hazardous treatment. A treatment, I emphasize, that must be severely implemented by law because of places ran like this one. And why did I wait a week before posting. Let's just say as upset as we still are, that Dollar Tree is fortunate I didn't post right away. Believe me it was best I wait until I simmered down. I'm not even able to conclude this properly, because I feel no closure. Perhaps once I hear back that OSHA has scheduled an inspection my heart will find some relief from thinking about it. Only because I'll know my part has been done in case something did happen during that frame of time. read more

If I could post this with 0 stars I would. Was going to shop for some stuff and it was 9pm when I arrived and they said they were closed. Yet their hours online said they're open til 10pm. I understand workers want to go home but closing an hour early instead of starting to close 10-15 min before close the workers closed a whole hour early. I go to this dollar store regularly so I know they're open until 10, so the workers were just being lazy. I will now be going to the 99 cent store from now on. I shouldn't have to go to another store when they had a whole other hour to be open. The workers closed out of pure laziness. I would not recommend people shop here. And everytime I shop there it is a mess. Items aren't where they're suppose to be, there's trash on the ground & the customer service has sucked besides maybe one time. I'm very disappointed. And if they do close at 9pm UPDATE YOUR ONLINE HOURS! DONT MAKE POSSIBLE CUSTOMERS WASTE A TRIP JUST TO FIND OUT THEYRE CLOSED! I was a regular customer there but I won't be now, it was the final straw for me. It doesn't help the poor reputation dollar stores already have. Although I generally like the store itself for its products, I have to give this store one star due to the fact that I am appaled at how nasty and disgusting the bathrooms are! I have been in cleaner gas station bathrooms. The floors are dirty, black and disgusting. The inside of the toilets are brown and gross. The toilet paper isn't even in the dispenser, it just sits on the rail on the edge and the toilet paper is full of brown stuff. (I honestly don't even want to know what that is). There's toilet paper on the floors, walls are brown and dirty, sink is just gross- I didn't even want to touch the handle to wash my hands. I was surprised to see it actually had a bottle of soap there to be used, but of course the paper towel dispenser was empty. I just can't believe the employees use that bathroom everyday and just deal with it. It smells and I can't say enough times how nasty it is. I've been in dirty bathrooms and just dealt with it, but this is by far one of the worst I have ever been in! It just goes to show the standards the management has for their store and their employees. I'm completely turned off to ever wanting to go there again. read more
