A great place to start when throwing a party or making a small gift basket. I love getting plates, cups, and napkins here. They come in a variety of colors and themes. The prices are lower than party stores or other local stores. Gift bags, bows, wrapping paper, and cards are also a great buy here. Gone are the days of Five and Dime stores. The dollar store is raising prices, too. However, it is still a good place to come to create toiletry bags to give away. Get soaps, shampoos, conditioners, hand lotions, small packs of tissues, headache meds, and moist towelettes. They have food items too. Canned food, boxed foods, frozen foods, cleaning supplies, kitchen basic tools, dishes, silverware, can openers, art supplies, kids' toys, and many other items. I came in to get party supplies for my kids birthday. The selection at the dollar tree was pleasantly swell stocked and tons to choose from. You can't beat Dollar tree prices when it's comes to party stuff! The stores appearance was overall pretty clean and well organized. The staff was quick to call more cashiers when the line became longer than a couple people, but none that I interacted with were very friendly. My cashier did not great me, she was more worried about her conversation with the other cashier. Happy I was able to get what I came in for, probably one of the better dollars trees in Reno when it comes to selection and well stocked shelves. read more

I dropped by the Dollar Tree located on Plumb Lane, to try to buy some to-go boxes but they were all out; in fact, the store was out of a lot of things, the bare shelves were very noticeable; it's kind of sad. I wandered through the store and found a really cute pillow though and I picked a couple of plastic meal-prep containers. The lady at the register was pleasant enough and interaction was brief. Overall, today's visit was fairly satisfactory; not bad, just average and that's okay. read more

The fresh new items balanced against the lack of consistency with out-of-stock and no longer available items is the yen and yang of shopping at the DT. I did have a new experience with the Dollar Tree. I ordered online. Unfortunately the item description did not accurately reflect the item I ordered Christmas buckets). I was shocked at how easy it was to exchange the item I ordered for the ones I needed (bigger Christmas buckets) that were now in-stock). I have been coming here for years and this location is one of the smaller Dollar Trees. I come here mostly because it is on the way home from grocery shopping at Wally World and Sam's Club. Although I find what I need here most visits, the store can be very messy and disorganized so I always spend more time than I would like looking for items. The cashiers are pleasant most times but there are occassional "what the eff" moments when I scratch my head on how a couple of them would act toward customers. And unfortunately, I've also witnessed couple of staff argue with each other in front of customers. read more

This is my favorite Dollar Tree in Reno. They always have a good selection and customer service is friendly and professional. You can get a great deal on greeting cards, gift wrap, gift bags and bows here. This I a great discount store! We have a couple in the Bay Area that I've been to and I wanted to see how this one fared in comparison. It was great, I picked up some greeting cards for .50 a piece, that is so cheap, cards can run up to $5-6 now. They had a ton of different dog toys and treats and a multitude of household items. I was surprised to see brand names! I purchased a couple of dog bowls to use outside at our new home. Some things I have purchased have broken or not lasted very long, but you've only paid one dollar:) read more

The entire time I was I'm this store I repeatedly heard the cashier call for security to stay vigilantly watching the cameras. After I gathered my items for purchase, I made my way to the front to check out. My total was 18.84. I had recently cleaned out my late fathers change jar and had quite a few $1 bills. I counted out 19 and handed them to the clerk. She reacted awkwardly saying she was not sure she could accept it. I asked if they were not currently accepting cash she replied they do. I stated it was cash which is legal tender so I do not understand the issue. She said she needed to speak to her manager and walked away with my cash. Less than 60 seconds later, she returned with the manager. The manager threw my money at me and said that it was 'counterfeit and just paper' while she was emptying my bags on the counter. I asked if she had not even used a counterfeit pen, why doss she think it is 'fake'. She replied, it's just paper so I don't need to. To defuse the situation and not waste the past hour I had spent in the store, took me quite a while as I am disabled , I ask if I could just pay with my card. She said no, get out of my store. I was shocked. I exclaimed that I had done nothing wrong to be treated in such a manner. Knowing she had told me to leave and that the situation would escalate out of hand if I pressed anything further, I left. Until today I had shopped at that location for about 20 years but never again. The more I think about it, the more illogical it becomes, 1. Who would print fake dollar bills? 2. Why would anyone with counterfeit money be shopping at Dollar Tree? 3. If she truly believed the cash was fake, why did she give it back to me? 4. Wouldn't there be a policy of contacting the police immediately because someone was committing a very serious federal crime? Never in my 40 years of life have I even seen an event occur like that in a retail store then it happens to me when I was completely innocent and respectful the entire time. read more

This store is always busy! The shelves are always full which means the stockers are always busy. If they do not have what you need they will help you order it on line and ship it to the store for free. The cashiers are as pleasant as they can be with the wide variety of people that shop here. Downfalls ......you can not take the carts to your car. Interesting people in the store....cleanliness needs help. read more

I've been trying to make sense of something that happened on Sunday, September 28th 2021. I have been very much wanting to find a couple of items I find absolutely essential to my everyday life, be that what it may. These things are a certain type of memo book, and a 20-sided dice, and if possible, a 12-sided dice or die. And usually where I find some of these things are in one of the dollar tree stores, including the three I've been going to from first moving here in 2006. These consist of (more often than not) the 95 W. Plumb Street store, as it's next to another grocery store I've been going to most often, as well. I also have been going to the one on McCarran and Prater in Sparks, and not so often lately, the one on Oddie Boulevard in Reno, near the Sparks town line. I'd already been to the latter, though it wasn't my wont to visit this store when I had the use of a car, because of the panhandlers who hung out there. The latter seem to now be a thing of the past. Be that as it may, I was going there far more often than my former practices inclined me to do when, during the pandemic, the nearby bank was, as far as I was aware, the closest one to me that was open for many months, and so I started getting re-acquainted with the dollar store on Oddie Boulevard as well. I was actually not expecting to be able to find any these particular items as they seemed to be not stocked in either of the 2 of the 3 dollar tree stores I'd been to in recent weeks and months. I'd been disappointed previously with the offerings of the Plumb St. store I was now checking out on Sunday, a couple of weeks ago--September 28th, around noon, so I was very excited when I did find the exact items I was looking for, so I scooped up 3 of the small memo books with dividers and a package of dice, which I later would discover, included not only a 20 and 12-sided dice but one 6 sided 2 10 sided, 1 or 2 8 sided and one 4-sided dice! Before and on entering the store I did change a couple of my habits: one of which was upon entering the store, I usually grabbed a shopping cart. But this particular day, I didn't but went straight to the stationary and toy sections of the store where I did find my items. What next ensued was unbelievable. A blonde woman I had never seen before and who I believe may have identified herself as the manager asked me to check my backpack saying it was 'store policy.' Now, as long as I've been shopping there I've never been asked to check my backpack in any of the dollar stores. Of course, when I had a car, I did not have to carry around a backpack which usually includes extra facemasks, tissues, a bottle of water, and a shopping bag to put in some of the items I intended to buy. I told the woman I did not wish to check my backpack as I tended to forget sometimes things and in fact had lost a bag containing a hat, a headband and a blouse a few months ago never to be recovered, and I even suspected I might have lost these items in this particular dollar store which I frequented. I offered to leave without checking the backpack and paying for the items I had picked up. The 'manager' did not leave my side and as I headed towards the cashier to pay, another woman, older with stringy shoulder length brown hair whose name tag I was able to decipher had the name "Deborah" on it and who I usually acted as the cashier--but this particular day a younger woman who was very nice checking me out, was the cashier so this Deborah who obviously was employed there, joined in the fray with the 'manager.' Deborah started to ram a shopping cart into me. I told her I told her to stop as this was assault, and she told me to call the cops. The manager and Deborah continued to harass me while positioning themselves on either side of me as I checked out 5 items including a cold drink I managed to find near the cashier, and paid for that with my SNAP card, and the other items with a bank card, all the while the manager and Deborah shouting abuse in my ear, saying I probably had no money, that I probably was going to run out of the store without paying, all of which of course was not true and it was all I could do to keep my mind on my passwords in order to finally exit the store! I forgot to mention that Deborah kept shouting at me: 'Go back to Oddie!' I was perplexed as to her meaning when I realized she was referring to the Dollar Tree store on Oddie Boulevard in Reno, as if that Dollar Tree store was not as good as the one obvious bottom-dweller Deborah was working in! I have the right as a customer to be treated civilly--and not be subjected to verbal harassment or threatened with physical violence. I have the right to refuse to 'check' my backpack--and be allowed to pay for the items I wanted to buy -I furthermore have the right to report this unbelievable conduct on the part of two Dollar Tree employees in Reno, Nevada! When the woman called my local store for more shaving cream, I was impressed. I was glad for her to help me to my car, as their shopping carts don't go outside. She was understandably curious and stayed friendly when she asked me what I was going to do with 50 bottles of shaving cream. She seemed to think that putting them all in the bathtub at once would be a worthy experiment, and it was! read more

I've been visiting here for years, mainly the kids section. Great place to buy fun corporate training materials on the cheap. It would be better if it was in a better part of town. Seems to have lots of homeless people in the area and plenty of crack heads. read more

Dollar stores, I love them!!! This one is pretty good compared to other stores. The only down fall is there is no public bathrooms and no complaints novena place to go near by. :-( The location is near midtown area. The parking lot spots are kind of smaller then normal. A mid size car is a squeeze! Just watch out for door dings. read more

Who wouldn't love miles of stuff for a buck! I already reviewed the Dollar Tree across town, but thought I'd also review this one, as there are some differences. Mainly the staff at this one are always friendly and they have more check out lanes open. I save a lot of money at Dollar Tree on items like cleaning supplies, and household paper products. They have neat-o craft supplies, school supplies, party favors, pet treats, cheapo kitchen gadgets and decorations for every holiday. My friend says I'm the only person who can come out of the Dollar Store having spent $200 bucks! :-) read more

So I do go here, mainly because it is close to my house and they have things I need at great prices. That said, if I can go to another location I do!!! The employees are either far to eager or completely rude. Most are on their phones engaged in personal conversations while stocking shelves. Others yell over the loud speaker every time someone donates at item to charity at checkout- startling all the shoppers in the process. The store is often messy and you may need to dig through items to find what you are looking for. Often I encounter seedy characters in the store or parking lot. I used to bring my fiance along for company but well- they refuse to go back. read more

I discovered this Dollar Tree location after moving to Reno last year. Conveniently located next to the Motel 6, Quality Inn and other shops in Lakeside Plaza. One trip into Save Mart next door, and believe me, you'll want to start flocking in here for snacks, drinks, cleaning supplies, and general household items instead, as you'll be paying about 1/3 of the cost - provided you are OK with many brand names either being generic, or generally unheard of elsewhere. Many items stay consistent in their inventory, and there's certain days where staples like bread and peanut butter are available. There's even been a few visits where some brand name items have appeared, like Bugles snacks, Hawaiian Punch, and 24 ounce bottles of Pepsi products. They're really good about their non-food return policy as well - I had a metal fork break in half within a set of four I purchased once, and they gave me a completely new set, not just a single new fork. Since everything's so cheap, I've only noticed having to pay tax after the bill reaches the $5 mark. The only downfall of the place is that there's a slight surcharge, around 35 cents or so, if you get cash back when paying with a debit card. Definitely recommend. read more

This dollar tree is on my track when I am on my way home from shopping in South Reno so I stop here often. One of the last times I stopped it looked as if a hurricane had hit the interior of the store dislodging much of the stock to the floor. This time things were in better order. read more

After getting more familiar and clocking the inventory, this place deserves at least 1 more star. There's enough worthwhile bargains to be worth a visit. Basically a one stop center for your bathroom cleaning supplies (plunger, toilet brush with holder, Lysol bowl cleaner, Simple Green all $1 each), also surprisingly good snacks and even a few basic dry "real foods." Other good stuff scattered hither and yon. It's turning into a semi-regular stop for me. read more

I think the store kicks butt. I'm 68 and on a fixed social security income so the prices really help me. I also find some really cute things, and the cards are great for .50. This Dollar Tree on Plumb Lane always seems so clean and well put together, I haven't ever found an unfriendly staff member at any Dollar Tree and that's amazing.
