Anyhow, this store has a bunch more Asian-inspired items like different varieties of Korean ramen and frozen dumplings which is kind of cool.

As of late, I've been using the shop for me button on the app. I've been pretty happy with the service, I put everything into the cart, pick a time to retrieve my groceries and when I arrive, they bring them out to the car and the service is free if I spend a certain amount. This is my sixth time using this service and I was extremely happy. Today, I ordered about $50 worth of groceries and picked a pick up time at 5 PM. I arrived at 5:35 PM and use the app to notify them. I was there. Came out and told us that they were having an issue and running. It would be another 30 to 45 minutes.... At rush hour, I did not want to go home so I decided to wait. at 6 PM my son went in and complained. Manager explained that they had a new system that was difficult to use and apologized. She gave a $15 store gift card for our inconvenience. About 6:20 PM the order came out to the car and we went home. I saw in the shopping bags was actually pretty abysmal. Most of the vegetables were horrible quality or even damaged. You can look at the pictures. I immediately got in the car and brought the food back to Smith's. the manager acknowledged that quite a few items were poor quality. The roast was probably 50% fat, the squash was obviously frozen, thawed, refrozen as it was squishy and bruised. The manager let me pick out some replacement items, and the produce department was obviously waiting for a new shipment as not only were shelves half empty, but the vegetables on the shelves were really poor quality. The manager popped up with another $15 gift card, and said that I would have to go online to request a refund. The items I could replace, she put in a bag and told me not to worry about. I went through the app and requested a refund for seven items and there was absolutely no issue whatsoever. The automated system even credited five dollars to my account for the inconvenience. I've been shopping at Smith for over 20 years, and they've always had amazing customer service and pretty much no questions Asked refund policy. There's a reason this is my grocery store. Not as well staffed as some of the other grocery stores, but the prices are absolutely meant for people on a budget. Also, it's nice to have a rapport with your baker, butcher, and management. I guess the only thing I could add, is when you do a pick up order, check the quality of items and refused them if they're not up to snuff .

Now as far as their products the produce is always great and the deli counter always has fresh food. The clerks are very friendly. They just need to work on having the shopping carts available for the customers upon entering the store.

While the selection may not be consistent, Grocery Outlet provides a great selection of groceries at very reasonable pricing. I always find awesome name brand stuff here and save a ton of money. I also love their healthy aisle where I often find healthy snacks and drinks that I would normally buy at Costco, but sometimes the pricing here is even better. They also have a pretty decent produce and meat selection at this store. The grass fed meat selection and organic produce is a huge win! Phenomenal wine and beer options as well. I also met a couple of nice customers who were searching for lamb, which made the experience a little more enjoyable. Bri, the cashier, provided great service--pleasant, efficient, and friendly. Sadly, friendly interactions with cashiers here can sometimes be hit or miss, so her positive attitude definitely stood out.

BAD, Customer Service! New manager Vince is very unprofessional. Had a stare out due to him…read morestopping his wet sweeper right in front of my cart, waiting for me to move. He said "Can you move, Im trying to do my work?" I said, "But I'm your customer. He told me to get out of the store. I continued shopping and he said you can shop all you want but you're not leaving with anything and threatened to call the cops. Cursing and all at me. When going to check out he refused his cashier to tender me and I said lets call the cops. He called them, they came and basically the outcome is that it's private property and he can have anyone leave the store. I highly recommend to NOT shop at this location (Fernley). Vince should not be a manager and will lose customers with his unprofessionalism towards customers left and right. I believe the police force is going to get tired from all his calls as I was informed my call in wasn't the first. So I was banned for that day. Do you really think I want to return Vince. Pfhehe, NOT! Surely won't help your store throwing people out due to your poor customer service lol
