BD's is similar to an Ocean State Job Lot, where some of it is closeouts, some of it is new merchandise, and they have a wide variety of products. BD's carries furniture, beds, housewares, bedding, kitchen stuff, hardware, food, electronics. A real mix of products. Most of the stuff is cheap knock offs made in China, but hey three bucks for a 6ft HDMI cable. Yes Please. I typically just go in there and look around as they are adding new products, so it changes from week to week what they have in stock. Pro's 1. CHEAP. If you're strapped for cash and you don't care that it might break in a year or so. then this is the place for you. 2. Furnture. Yes they sell furniture. Some of it isn't all that bad. They also sell beds too 3. Convenient. This location is located right on Broadway in Chelsea. So its walkable from anywhere. 4. Selection. Lots of a variety of products to choose from. Con's 1. This is a con too, as it isn't Target or KMart where they have just about everything, BD's items are 'off the truck" so one week they may have something, and then not have it again. As far as the staff.. I've never really had a problem except with a language barrier (where the cashier's English wasn't as proficient as mine). BUT Staff are always nice and polite and are willing to help you if you need it. Other than that, I like BD's, I'm sure I'll be back soon.

So it has a special place in my heart, or it's just a bad habit acquired over the past 35 years?? Either way Northgate has evolved quite a bit since the 80's. Northgate now houses a lot of stores including 2 supermarkets, a gym, McDonalds, Taco Bell, a few anchor stores and much much more. The parking lot is extremely large with more than enough spots for everyone even on the busiest of shopping days. This is a one stop eat, bank and shop stop. Once she found help for us, I asked if I could try a couple on too. I was told by the sales associate that only one person at a time can be helped. Fine. I waited for another 10 minutes for the other client to choose which glasses she would buy. The sales associate then told me she had to go help them at the register and needed to find the cases for the glasses too. Another 15 minutes went by. At that point I just left. They're clearly not interested in making a sale. Such a shame because before this lock up situation, I used to buy all my glasses from this location. Looks like I'll need to find another store.
