Saturday afternoon only one cashier is open and working very hard while the second cashier ( older and shorter gentleman, sorry, don't know his name) closed his station and was wondering at front of the store. Long line of people were waiting and when we asked him to call the manager he said he is at his break and the manager is having her break also ( the same time....in a busy Saturday afternoon time...) , he refused to call her and also refused to tell us her name, was very rude with his response . We kept standing there and waiting ...the second cashier was never open after 20 minutes.. very unprofessional and rude service, ops.. no service.. This place isn't bad, went here with my friend after lunch so she could pick up a few holiday themed items for the 4th of July, and it was nice and orderly and the cashiers were chatty and friendly. Recessionistas like me appreciate these kinds of stores when times are hard and you need to pick up a couple of items but don't want to pay full MSRP for them. I found some good rope tug toys for my dog here, and they were only a buck. Same exact toy at Petco was $9.99. Can't beat that. Shopped at Dollar Tree (Store #4271) on 10/21/2018 at 14:16 with sales associate named, Manny. On my way out, checked my receipt and learned that I was overcharged. Bought 2 Breast Cancer Awareness scarves, but got charged for 3! Went back to the cashier and demanded my $1.08 back. He was attending another customer, but handed me a $1.00 bill he got somewhere. It didn't come from the cash register. When I asked for the .08 sales tax, he refused to give it to me telling me that it was added to the total amount of what I paid etc. Surprised that he won't give the .08 sales tax, I insisted. He then asked the manager who was attending a customer on the next cashier aisle to open the register which he did and I got back the .08 sales tax. The sales associate, Manny was rude and had a bad attitude! He threw the item separator on the side and even threw my receipt instead of handing it to me. He should be trained more on how to deal with paying customers!!! I am NOT likely to recommend this Dollar Tree store to friends and family. So Dollar Tree shoppers, please check your receipts carefully if you haven't paid attention while your items were being scanned. read more

Gotta love these dollar stores! The entire family can go on a shopping spree and still have change left over. They offer a great selection of seasonal items. On Christmas, they have tons of gift wrappers; on Easter tons of baskets, candies, and basket stuffers. The list goes on. Even for party favors, this is the place to go. Helium balloons that normally sell for at least $3 outside are you guessed it, only $1 here. Gift bags are also a dollar. My mom lives out of town and was impressed by their selection of teaching supplies when she came for a visit. Now she insists that i buy all her classroom decorations, posters, and office supplies here and ship them to her. They have the oddest things too like pregnancy tests. Hard to believe that you can purchase them for a buck. Although they have tons of great stuff, there are things that i would not buy here. Mainly because for a dollar, I'm skeptical on the quality. I won't buy makeup or skin supplies. I prefer the Murphy Canyon location over this one because they have a wider selection. However, this is a close second. Parking can be a bit of a struggle because they share their parking lot with all the stores and eateries in the same complex. read more

I feel a little harsh giving this place the 3 when it's been pretty chill to me. But I've only been a couple of times and I see frustration brewing on the forefront so I can't, in good faith, go higher until I check some more things out. If they had camo party supplies I would have been done (minus the helium I would have needed for the balloon I purchased elsewhere). They had more Duck Dynasty stuff than Party City, which is what I had initially wanted then downgraded to camo. I was actually surprised they did exchanges. The 99 cent store closest to my house doesn't do crap. It's like 'if you buy it, see you never'. So that, I thought, was a step up from nothing. Which is what I was expecting. Of course you get a better exchange policy at Walmart. But then you have to go to Walmart. If I don't have to, I'm cool on that. Typical $1 store issues, stock is a little strange and they are understaffed. I think if you come knowing this place is more like a rest stop than a hotel, you'll be okay. They were not respectful and helpful to the customers especially the cashier . They're better off working at the back and do stocks instead . Super disappointed in customer service from manager Tracy. I tried to get 3 small balloons blown up that had the logo of the college my son has been accepted to this fall. She repeated to me several times that it was 'company policy' not to blow up outside balloons. As I was spending 30$ in her store, my request was small in comparison to the BIG picture. My son, robbed of Senior Year Festivities and the excitement of WALKING with his graduation class. All I wanted was to celebrate his future. His college acceptance! 3 balloons! This dollar store isn't as good as some of the competition out there, but it's the only $1 store in the Mira Mesa area. The store is filled with cheap crap, and they always have seasonal decor available. The dollar store now has some frozen foods, but they didn't look too appealing to me. Parking is sort of a hassle, the store shares a lot with Marshall's Dress Barn, Bed Bath and Beyond, and a few other stores in the Mira Mesa "mall". read more

He was the only person checking out and it was busy, but while I was shopping I could hear him being so kind and helpful to everyone. And when I left the store I forgot something and he ran it out to me. If the product is packaged exactly the same way as a store's knockoff of a name brand except for a sticker, then is it the same product? I spent 5 bucks on the Vons rip-off of Febreeze, and low and behold Dollar Tree carries a similar product in the same packaging, the only difference is the sticker and the price. Hmmm... I love me some Dollar Tree. The quality is better than the Target dollar bin, if you can imagine that. You get what you pay for, though. Store is more chaotic than Big Lots, but only in terms of staff and customers. Shelves are pretty stocked and the store seems about as neat and clean as you can expect. I've not bought any food items... yet. We'll see how much moola I got at the end of the month. The Stars and Stripes soda is just as good any other generic soda, and all the cleaning and household products are pretty good. This is the best place for wrapping paper and gift bags. Sorry Hallmark, but I ain't spendin' no $4.99 on a bag. Probably a 2 star store overall, but I'm giving it a 3 because if you have high expectations of a Dollar Store, you are shopping in the wrong place. read more

I think that's very important, because most grocery stores these days don't have birthday and other celebratory balloons! I was in there yesterday which was probably a mistake being the Saturday before school starts, so things were tossed around, but the floors and the walls are really dirty. Worse customer service and return policy. I tried to call customer service during business hours and they told me to leave a message. I called them several times and they never got back to me. I ordered some chalk online and they only gave me half of my order and I wanted a refund for the other half. This is a typical Dollar Tree with a fairly consistent selection of items. These places are big on party items and you can set up and stock your party for cheap with the decorations and massive snack bags and 3-liter soda jugs. It can get crowded sometimes as the cashier turnover is high and sometimes slow to learn the register. read more

Very much disappointed with the staff, racist..... felt very insulting. Only one girl on duty was very friendly and helpful. Two more staffs were there and they were very rude , I went there to shop on Monday May 1st 2017 afternoon and after the payment the lady in cash register didn't even helped me putting the purchased items in the bag but she was enjoying standing and chatting with the other staffs. I went there with my toddler and it was difficult for me to keep an eye on him and same time putting my stuffs in the bag. They all saw that needed help and it's their duty too to help their customers but all of them have just ignored. I have never seen such people anywhere.
