Had a basket full of stuff and there was a long line. Cashier opened a new line. I was 2nd in the current line. The next person had already put all their stuff down and was also not paying attention. I moved over to the new line. Nasty cashier lady goes, "its not your turn....." I looked at her amd said. "She got her stuff down and isnt even paying attention" "But she's next" So I dropped my stuff and left. She didnt have to be rude. And all she had to do was use a little common sense. Well, I guess the novelty has worn off now. The store is in the location of the old Walgreens. I come here occasionally, but the merchandise variety hardly ever changes. They have cheap toiletries, plastic plates, paper goods, etc. They seem to have improved the service over other stores in the area. So it's just okay. Don't expect Nordstrom's. read more

I know that it's August. I know that I only walked into the dollar tree store so that I could buy stickers, but, the Halloween decorations were out today. Which meant that I would be making boob bags for the kids and friends and being very creative with the boo bags that we make for the teenagers. I love that this dollar tree is always well stocked, and well-maintained. I'd rather go to this one thean the Concord one even though they are equidistant. This entry is hands-down, the cleanest one in our area. also, whenever I'm here, the staff is super friendly and always talk to me and make me feel that I am a valued customer even though the majority of the things that I'm paying for are only $1.25 each. This morning, I had a lovely leisurely conversation with one of the staff members, and he was awesome. He was so wise and insightful that it makes me just want to come to this dollar tree to chat about life in general when I do have the time to do so. Thank you, dollar tree, for making this crafters life fulfilled with all of the knickknacks that you have provided to me over the decades. This store is usually clean, plenty of room for customers to move about/not cramped. Inventory can be lacking at times, but that happens. Lately, the workers haven't been as friendly as during my previous visits over the years. I've noticed this on several recent occasions, not sure what changed. This applies to several employees, not one in particular. It's unfortunate because it's nice to stop in here - especially with the increased prices due to tariffs - and pickup useful items without paying an arm and a leg. Hopefully things "return to normal" soon. Pleasant attitudes make the experience more enjoyable for all, customers and employees alike. :) read more

Very rude employee ; its still dollar tree not FREE ! Have SOME manners /ethics to talk to your customers. Store in general had dirty floors and less variety compared. I went to buy a lot of stuff but after getting the experience from this lady with glasses employee I returned without any purchase. I hope store owner reads it and does some improvement. Stopped by when we were charging. Noticed one size was completely ransacked or they could be changing out the Christmas items. The rest of the aisles were full. We found the items we were looking for and more. Seems like they may carry slightly better items than some of the other dollar trees or I just happen to go when they had more items stocked. read more

Ok. I didn't know about this place before . I don't know why. You can get little things really cheap . It's kinda like Walmart without the food. They have a wide variety of things. I needed retractable pencils. I found them here. I needed a lock. Found it here. I needed some just bags and papers. . I found it here. Really cheap. You would be surprised what you may find. Eh, you get what you pay for. And, really, it seems like they should change the name of the store to Dollar-twenty-five Tree. The store gets three stars from me because it had what I needed and it was cheap. Service for me was fine, albeit slow. That said, it's more like one-star if you have any problems with your purchase. Long story short(er), a woman in line in front of me purchased several balloons and one of them came loose of its ribbon on her way to the car. She thought it should be replaced for free, but the manager said she needed to pay for a new one. The woman and the manager argued for a bit before the manager had to step away to deal with something else. Well, I guess there was miscommunication between the manager and the cashier, because the cashier ended up letting the woman go with a new balloon for free. But when the manager came back, she got mad at the cashier for not making the woman pay. Like, why didn't you just give her the damn balloon in the first place? It's $2, and I'm pretty sure her original balloon was defective and she's not trying to cheat your store. read more

Dollar Tree opened in the vacated Walgreen space. as dollar stores are the fastest growing section of the retail sector, it isn't surprising one appears in "upscale" San Ramon. Dollar Trees don't just open in "low income" areas, they seek locations where rent is economically cheaper due to a recent tenant closure. Dollar Tree is both a franchised operation as well opening their own stores. (same as McDonald's except McD owns the real estate...) all stores carry the same merchandise. every store also seems to have few registers open, usually just 1 or 2 during off hours. plenty of parking except for peak hours. EV charging stations available nearby the Alcosta entrance. expect to find low quality cheaply made goods that will last just a short while. some edibles but not many with close "sell by" dates. some are custom made for Dollar Tree. there are $1 sections of candies and canned goods. some items appear "cheap". buying some items in bigger sizes elsewhere is actually cheaper. read more

Bright, clean, neat, and spacious new addition to San Ramon. This Dollar Tree just opened in "Lucky's" shopping center and will definitely do well. Store Itself: Very neat. Lots of different goods, from kitchen accessories, snacks, arts and crafts, cleaning supplies, and much more. The store is much cleaner and brighter compared to other locations near by, it may just be that way because its new, but hopefully this standard will continue throughout this store's lifetime. ***Most items worth buying here are $1.25 which is awkward because it says dollar tree not dollar 25 cent tree... Service: Only saw on cashier and possibly a plain clothes store associate putting multiple go backs away. Cashier was nice and friendly. Other than that, don't expect lot of help to find things on the sales floor. Overall: A nice new addition to the San Ramon area as this location does not have much competitors around, so hopefully it will do well. read more

They have a huge display of Mylar balloons to buy, with detailed prices depending on size. I spent 15+ minutes figuring out what balloons to get for my 6 yr old granddaughter. When I had decided, I went to a store employee and asked how to purchase them and get them filled. She said "oh, we don't have any helium!" !!! I'm from the East Bay, so if you want to make the trek out with your girlfriends, it will be well worth it. Lots of fun and reasonable places to eat and shop nearby. Next to the one in dublin, this is my general go to dollar store. Since it's fairly new, the place itself overall is still very neat and clean versus sometimes when compared to the dublin or even the one in Pleasanton imo. When compared to the others, this one appears to have more product and inventory on hand. Plus so far, being checked out is fairly quick even with 1 cashier, I think the longest I've waited here was around 5 mins, while some of the other stores I've been in line for close to 10 if not more. Anyways, like stopping by every so often to see some of the new products on hand and of coarse, due to Covid and whatnot it's more like $1.25 store versus dollar store lol read more

Very excited that a Dollar Tree opened in San Ramon, so conveniently located for me instead of going to Dublin/Pleasanton! So I decided to check this out on a weekday during the afternoon hours, this location is in the same complex as Luckys. Since this is relatively new, I felt like it's pretty empty compared to my other experiences at other Dollar Trees. It's clean, open and well-organized and stocked. Some Dollar Trees are a mess but as of right now, it is not. It wasn't busy, the line wasn't super long or crazy. I got what I needed and quick check out. I am very pleased with this Dollar Tree, plan on coming back more often. Hopefully, it doesn't get too crazy and busy here! read more

If I'm not mistaken, this location has been open for a little over two weeks now. It's your standard, run-of-the-mill Dollar Tree (some items have increased to $1.25 to stay consistent with the retail chain's latest changes due to increased freight and distribution costs) but, at the end of the day, it's still a good price.
