Bath and Body Works, Pleasanton (Stoneridge Mall) As busy as it was for Mother's Day weekend and with the sales of Body Care, Wall Plug, Candles and so on, the associates at this BBW was very helpful!! They greeted us as we went in and several asked if we needed help looking for something. I did needed help about my online coupon in my account and when I did end up buying stuff, I didn't have a problem redeeming it, which was great! I also needed help searching for a travel size fragrance mist. I went to search on the wall where it's usually displayed "Life's a Fairytale" but didn't see the travel size, one of the associates took me around the store to look for it and we did end up finding it, in a very hidden spot. I went in on the 13th of February to shop for the Disney collection. I found what I wanted and headed up to the register to pay and the cashier named arroyal was not a pleasant person to talk to. She was very short and acted as if she didn't want to be there. Definitely changed my mood walking out, was not a pleasant shopping experience. I also saw her before walking into work another time and she just walked between my family and I without saying excuse me. Was here looking for gifts and browsing and everywhere you turn there was a helpful employee ready to help and guide you to find those gifts for your family and friends. Many employees both on the floor and at the cash registers, and no line at all. Products: Wow from candles to soaps, to hand sanitizers they have it all including fragrances for both men and women. The candles are my favorite from this location especially the seasonal smelling ones! We are such big Disney people and she went out of the way willing to give us her purchase. We were about to leave, but we asked them again to see if there was more. Love the scents. Love the designs on the containers for each scent. Love the names of the scents - they make for absolutely HILARIOUS lame jokes. Have a "Beautiful Day" or discover what it means to smell "Sexy." Hey, I learned that "Montana Mountain Air" has a scent. And here I thought air was frangrance-free... The scents usually aren't too strong. Many are fruity, many are sweet, others are warm (I'm not too sure how to describe how a scent is considered "warm," but when I wafted from a certain container, the fragrance was for sure warm). They switch out many of the fragrances throughout the year, according to the seasons. Right now, they've got autumn scents - pumpkin spice, etc. I'm not a huge fan of these, but the summer scents are still around and I much prefer those. I also prefer the classic scents they have year-round. The staff is friendly, and there are discounts every now and then. Don't shop here. You will receive terrible customer service, especially from the manager and an associate by the name of WES. Yes, I'm going to stoop so low and call her out. Why? Because I received TERRIBlE customer service from her during my experience here. They have a semi annual sale, I liked the single wick candles and the price that was being advertised. A sign stated "ALL SINGLE WICK CANDLES $5.95" so I chose to buy a few. I went to the register and they refused to honor the price. Telling me that doesn't apply to the single wick candles I picked. The funny thing is the sign was posted in front of the selection I chose from! The least they could do is honor the advertised price and remove the sign as to not deceive other customers. I'm complaining about Wes and the manager because their lack of customer service skills. In this situation they chose to justify the advertisement and blame there corporate office for giving them the signs. Today we were at the Stoneridge mall Pleasanton. And had an unpleasant experience, sadly , eventhough in Pleasanton. We went to bath and body works , were I usually go once or twice a yr to buy my half year's supply of hand washes. My toddler wanted to smell the candles like everyone else was doing. He was under the supervision of my husband all the time. He didnt break anything. He didn't damage any candles. He was smelling the candles like everyone else who buys candles does. A staff named Margarita threw nasty looks at us. Went out of her way to make us feel unwelcome. Perhaps she isnt crazy about children, or may be she was having a bad day. But her behaviour affected our entire shopping experience. We tried to brush it off and we did, although it did take some energy on our part to deal with it. Funny how negativity multiplies so quickly. So, if anyone who reads this is going to Bath and body works in Stoneidge mall in Pleasanton, please smile and greet Margarita and give her some love. My husband and I love candles, so when there is a sale, we come here, to get each one of us a candle, maybe two if there is a sale. Otherwise...... The candles are super expensive at $24.95 and you can go to other stores that have comparable candles on sale for a fraction of the price. That being said, the service in here is great and there is always someone in here to see if you're finding everything ok, so that aspect gets 5 stars for customer service. 3 stars for the expensive candles, and other items. Bath and Body Works started out as a little addiction for the little M's. They can get those portable little hand sanitizers for a dollar apiece. So if they each have a couple of bucks burning holes in their pockets from Grandma, they are excited to come to Bath and Body Works and stock up of cupcake and fruity scented hand gel. But then I started buying the foaming hand soaps for the kitchen and bathrooms. I got the cute little chrome soap covers. And then I buy them in big bundles (six for $20!), sampling lots of different scents. Most recently, I fell in love with the Lavender Vanilla Pillow Mist. Just a little spritz before I go to sleep and it's heavenly. And yeah, I have the little car air fresheners, too. I may need an intervention. read more

I was at this Bath & Body Works store yesterday evening. GF was at Chico's, which was a few doors away. I love B&B Works products - shower gels, lotions, candles, body sprays, antibacterial soaps, shampoos, etc., and it doesn't matter which store I buy them from - they're all great to browse and shop. I even enjoy shopping on their website. I don't fret or worry too much about slow service of the sales associates. I am not sure if the ones who complain about slow service of sales associates are themselves slow in making up their minds as to what they want or need. I have seen plenty of slow customers, trying the patience of sales associates...I pity them (the customers) because they have become so fickled that I have to chuckle to myself and do the smh thing. Well, I wanted to take a look at their inventory of votive candles and the various scents they carry. Nix that because what caught my eyes was something that they no longer sell online or at the B&B Works in SF at the Westfield Shopping Mall. What was this hot item that I needed for the votive candles that I have just purchased online - none other than the glass container for the votive candle!!! They were right there in front of the store in the boxes of clearance merchandise marked 75% off. The glass container is a discontinued item. It was going for 75% off of a regular price of $2.50, and the final price was 63 cents each. I bought six of them, paying a little over $4.00. As I said, I love bargains and when I do find them, I take advantage of the deals. I found out from the sales associate that the West Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station is within walking distance. This is great. I can travel to Stoneridge Shopping Mall by utilizing Agnes and Charlie (AC) from Alameda to Fruitvale BART, and then hop on the Dublin/Pleasanton train to my destination - Stoneridge Shopping Mall. read more

My little guy felt sick, she went above and beyond what any employee needs to. She grabbed us a bag, after the fact she walked him to the corner and grabbed him a chair, another employee (I didn't get her name) went and filled water up to give him. After we relaxed for a bit Melissa offered a piece of gum to help his stomach which helped him tremendously! Today I am thankful that there are humans such as Melissa, she didn't have to help us, but instead she went above and beyond! I kinda like this store. All scents are not good but I really like blossom scent for body lotion and butter hand cream. The problem I always have with this store is with their discounts! They offer buy 2 get 1 free and but 3 get 2 free and many Items. I always go in to buy only 1 or 2 stuff and end up buying lots and pay over 100 bucks! The scents and packages are very nice though the quality is not very good. I looove me some Bath & Body works...I've been using their products for years! My all time favorite was the Juniper Breeze line. These days..they have added so many different fragrances and I love most of them. Stopped in with my cousin during our lunch break...all I really wanted to get was their Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint - it is a MUST TRY! It's a lip gloss that is infused with peppermint oil ! They basically tout it as a lipgloss that freshens your breath! Plus - it's tasty! I love this stuff! They had a sale going on for 5 lotions/shower gels/body creams for $25... The body creams I got: Coconut Lime Verbana, Freshwater Cucumber, Midnight Pomegranate ( my fave!), Sea Island Cotton and Cherry Blossom ( for the bf...HIS fave!) Yay! Now I'm set for body creams....for awhile! read more

They suck. Many times I have not been greeted at the get-go, but many of the employees like to chat amongst themselves. No eye contact and just that air of valley arrogance that really peeves me so, although I'm sure most of them only make $9/hr. It trickles down...perhaps the mgr's need to be schooled too. Went here yesterday bc it was convenient, and it's same ol', same ol'. It's just expected. Biggest thing: they use all kinds of PARABENS in their products like most cosmetics and body care lines. I told the cashier (I believe she was a supervisor) and she didn't care or comment. Some locations follow you around asking you to try things, pointing you to various products you aren't even interested in, etc. This particular location has good customer service RIGHT. The Bath and Body Works in Brentwood is 10x better -- better location, neater and more organized merchandise (and it hasn't all been torn open like the stuff in here), more ventilated. Oh my God, ventilation is KEY. I really hate this location because it gets so stuffy and the smell of all the cheap lotions and soaps gives me an asthma attack. I walked in around 2pm and left at 2:15. Not one person talked to me. No one greeted me no one event tried to sell me anything. Went in while I had time to kill ( I was waiting in the 6 hour line on the first day for an iphone, left my husband so I could stretch my legs). So I needed to get some more of my favorite light daily spray that I use. Its a Orange Ginger scented Aromatherapy line they have that comes in a glass bottle. I think its called "Essence body spray". Anyway I've had this last bottle for awhile. I'd been using one bottle and my daughter had picked up another as a gift, and I had recently opened that one, so long story short I hadn't actually bought it myself in awhile. So its down to almost nothing and I need some more. I walk into the store its about 1:30 in the afternoon. Usually the salesgirls (at least when I've gone to the WC one accosts you "Can I help you"? ) but not a sole in sight, except a customer or two. So I scan the store for the brand, can't really even see the line, hmmm this is not good. So I remember my husband is holding my place in line for "my" iphone so I really should get back. So I go to the cashiers desk to ask for help. I see their is one girl off to the left semi helping someone and no one actually behind the counter (we are talking ghost town folks). So then I see at the opening to the back a girl doing something with boxes and after standing there 7 minutes! I walk over and say "excuse me can you help me"? "Oh yes" all smiling sheepishly. I tell her what I'm looking for and she steers me back towards the front of the store. The line (or whats left of it) is still there but it looks as thought B&B is revamping it. (Oh great, this always happens to the things I love) and no wait she shows me this bottle, could it be? No its pillow mist? WTF... I told her mine was body spray. She states " I don't think they make this in a body spray, I've worked here quite a while ( the chick barely looks 16, so does that mean a month? Cuz I know when you're a kid a month = like a year, right?) She also states "but you could probably use this on your body, I don't see why not" smiling but probably thinking "old senile idiot". I know I haven't been buying "Pillow Mist" and spraying that on myself. I mean when I first bought the stuff a salesgirl helped me discover it, so now I'm just alittle "IRKED" that she's insinuating I'm wrong. I press my rightness, she says "well I don't think so but I'll go ask my manager and see if maybe we have any left in the back". She returns and tells me that the manager told her they did carry "essence body spray" but the company has now discontinued it. (Aha ... see I do know what I'm talking about! Age before beauty.) She tries to find me something comparable but at this point, I'm needing to get back. I've just wasted 25 minutes, and once again something that I really love no longer exists...And the customer service to figure this out was less than stellar. read more

This is hands down one of the best Bath & Body Works stores in the San Francisco Bay Area in terms of 1) service and 2) pricing/sales 3) choices/quantity of items and selection especially in the sales section. The store is neat, organized, and well lit. It looks simple yet you know exactly where things are irregardless of what season it is during the year. I can't say the same for other stores where I have to dig through the clearance sections. Friendly and courteous customer service. I've never received any attitude even when I shop with coupons at this store. The workers are so kind here and have exceptional customer service. For this reason, I come to this store more often than some of the other stores that are closer to where I reside. I love their coupons and promotional $1 items. Lately, it's been the men's shower gel (travel size). This doesn't apply to me, but it's still a great way to try out their item without too much of a commitment. While I've never returned anything I've used even if the scent isn't my favorite, I know people who have and received no issues at this place. After I made my purchase tonight (right before closing at 9pm), I got another free signature body item with purchase coupon which means yet another trip to Bath & Body Works! As an African-American woman, I was given a very hard time here. I shop at bath and body works regularly and I am a rewards member. I purchased a three wick candle from here and before it was half empty, it cracked.. bath, and Bodyworks has a policy in which you can exchange a candle that you do not like or that is damaged, and this can be done without a receipt. As soon as I walked into the store, I let the manager know of my situation, and she said I was good to go, and that I just needed to choose a candle to replace my broken one. when I got to the register, all of the girls working, seemed unaware of the policy and made me feel like I was trying to scam the store or something.. they all gathered together and stared at the whole transaction, and it made me feel really awkward, as if I was doing some thing wrong. They made it a really big deal and called the manager and walked over to her and she said it was totally fine and they all kind of looked stupid. One of the girls was kind of acting like she was more knowledgeable than the other girls. Yet, she did not even know the exchange policy. I totally understand being careful about this and double checking, but it wasn't really like that. It was more like they thought I was trying to scam them and they were all surrounding me. She then proceeded to tell me that the lid I chose on the candle was $30. I asked her if I the candle and lid was $30 each. She said yes so in a total I would pay $60 for this candle with a special lid. I told her that I wouldn't get that lid but the next time I came to the store I found out that that wasn't even true and I'm not sure why she told me that. I like the new remodel of this store, it's very modern, bright, and airy. Previously located upstairs near Nordstrom, the facelift was a great addition. They usually have a good amount of product in stock but my only gripe is how stingy the sales associates are with using coupons. Many other BBW except many coupons for one transaction, here they give you a hard time. I just split up my transactions and use all my coupons because I love discounts and it's not coming out of the employees pockets so they shouldn't really care. read more

To be completely honest I really don't like places like these. The products are ordinary and the staff is under educated about the product. I was actually surprising the sales woman with the info I had acquired about scrubs and such. One of my friends used to work there but quit shortly after being hired because they push push push the sale sale sale!!
