We loaded up on local favorites with the intention of giving them as gifts at Christmas time. Christmas shopping = done. If you want a one-stop-shop Grandma Tommy's sells wines from all of the local wineries, local beer, cheeses and in-house baked pies. They sell all sorts of jams & butters, jarred items including cherries. I can't speak to whether or not all of those products were local, or if they were produced elsewhere and just have a Grandma Tommy's label on them. Souvenirs and gift items. I bought a cute Door Co. ornament and they have everything from mugs to aprons and some Greenbay Packers merchandise. They had several pies in their display case that looked delicious. I assume these were baked there, though I don't know if they were made there. They were taking holiday pie orders when we visited, so they must be extremely popular. While we browsed the main building one of the employees working showed us how to located the other sales floor that had the bulk of the wine and spirits for sale. More loading up we did. We left spending around $150 on a large amount of stuff. Several bottles of local wine, coffee and cheese curds, New Glarius beer, and more. The prices are just a little more at Grandma's than going straight to the source, but this is one place you can browse everything Door Co. has to offer. The woman that checked us out was super friendly. She did a nice job of packing up our wine for the long drive back home. She asked us where we were on our visit. When we told her we were just getting started she gave us a nice Door Co. map and told us that the further north we got the worse our cell service would be. Open, airy shopping experience. Clean and tidy. Well stocked. Nice variety. Fair prices. Large parking lot. The exterior of the building was beautifully decorated for the fall season. Highly recommend Grandma Tommy's.

This store is simply a not miss for gear and clothing (can't speak to rentals). When asked for recommendations Mark is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and decisive. It's either a thumbs-up (yes, it's been a great seller and my customers are super positive about this item) or a thumbs-down (no, not a great choice, find something else). I found the clothing fits well, is sized accurately, and lasts a long time. I've worn pants and shirts from two years ago that still look great, even after heavy use. The outerwear like barn jackets and vests show literally no wear. While I'm sorry those most recent three reviewers didn't have a great experience, please do not overlook this gem of a shop. While it might not be on the main drag, it's but a short 10'ish minute walk from there over the bridge. And what views on the way! The shop is full of women's clothing and jewelry and handbags and accessories and things. It's a. boutique shop, and they sell some locally made items. They also sell a lot of women's football clothing in Green Bay Packers colors. No cheese heads, but plenty of t-shirts, hats and scarves. The sales people were not all up in our business as we were browsing, which I appreciated. They were friendly but then left us to look at everything.

And there's a wine bar across the way. Door County easily fulfills all of my needs on one single street. I have children, but I didn't have them with me, but nevertheless, I made a beeline for the children's section. The kids area here is fun and colorful, with a nice couch to sit on and read, lots of picture books and graphic novels, and a stool for shorties who can't reach. Novel Bay gives teachers a 10% discount every day, which is nice. The whole shop is tidy and well organized, and there's a good selection without it being overwhelming.
