The service was fine but the price was misleading. 59 for delivery and 15 for removing an item. If you pay for removal it should not cost you more. Also we apparently had an extra fee for a. AVOID THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT A NIGHMARE!! I ordered a 2 man job from Dolly for a heavy electronic sofa that also needed to be disassembled. The job was cancelled because they said they could not find a helper. Shortly after I receive a text from another person asking if they can start the job. This person shows up by himself with a vehicle that will not fit the sofa! Of course, he was unable to move it and could not do the job. I was charged on my CC $142 for a job that was not done and then I receive another text from a person and I can see from their pic that their truck isn't big enough, in fact its one of those tiny bed trucks. And I'm charged $32 cancellation fee on top of the $142 for services never received. The company does not respond to texts or emails either except their computer generated ones. Get your shit together Dolly!! I have written you emails and you fail to respond nor do you have a number where anyone can reach you and you do not respond to the number you have for texts. Idea is good for this platform but unfortunately Dolly is not reliable. My move from Denver to Texas fell in the hands of Dolly and they couldn't fulfill their end of the bargain. Not only did they not schedule anyone, they were very unresponsive with communications. I ended up calling some friends to bail me out. Inexpensive (spent $60 for a couch to be delivered, including tip) as opposed to around $300 with West Elm delivery. My "dolly" Shadrick is the man! He's friendly, accommodating, arrived early and ensured my new couch didn't get dirty or damaged. This service is fantastic and their drivers are DMV background checked prior so you know you're in good hands. The app tells you where your driver is at (gps that includes their location on a map) and it allows you to enter all the details necessary to ensure a smooth move (size of furniture, where you need to have the driver pick the item up for you, etc). Scheduled a Dolly to pickup and deliver a coffee table I got from OfferUp. Everything went fine until my driver lied about picking the item up, and when I tried calling didn't speak English and hung up. Thankfully I did find a new Dolly driver, though nearly an hour later. Help through text was adequate but I found out my original Dolly driver was under probation. Definitely second guessing using this app again, if ever. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID Dolly "Helpers" Destroyed multiple pieces of furniture during the June 2020 "move," and then decided to take another job in the midst of the move. Some items left broken at origin. Others destroyed sitting at destination. Purchased insurance on items, filed a claim. Claims specialist is "Kellie W." and her job is to give you the run around for about 6 months before ghosting you completely. I also spoke to someone that was supposedly Kellie's "supervisor" named Jeremy, who tried to tell me that the destroyed pieces looked "cheap like ikea" despite me having sent them purchase receipts, documentation, even academic literature and provenance of the items. I sent in more documentation as per Jeremy's request and was told to expect a resolution within 48 hours. This was in October 2020. It is now January 2021, I have yet to receive a pay out on the claim, a single penny from this company and I have yet to be refunded for the job which they never even completed. I have lost all hope of compensation and refund. I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and I received a response from the company that they would pay the claim immediately and apologized for the delay. I replied asking when exactly and how they came up with the total, as it was far less than the value of the item destroyed. This was on December 3, 2020. I was hoping to get a resolution but since I'm being ghosted after having paid, guess I gotta write a review. I was told two movers would show up with a trailer truck to move my furniture. One guy showed up, his name is Jake Mattfeld-Sarbaugh, with a tiny truck and no help. What should have taken 1-2 trips max took 4 hours and 4 trips and I had to help him with all the big furniture so he wouldn't drag it across the sidewalk and streets - mattress included. There was no way for him to move those pieces himself. I paid, tipped him in cash what I planned to tip both movers. Then I start unpacking my house and there is a huge dent in my hallway door near the ground where the giant industrial dolly ran into it. I understand shit happens when you move but this sucks. I call and ask for help in paying for the damage and the response is "I didn't do it, not my problem. You take care of it." My new apartment is planning to make me pay for it and now I'm being ghosted on a response for damages. I dunno what kind of movers Dolly hires but they definitely ripped me off. if you get Jake Mattfeld-Sarbaugh as one of your movers, request a different one immediately!!! I needed a large chest moved from my basement to my first floor and contacted Dolly based on a recommendation of a neighbor. I received a quick response and the helpers arrived right on time. The price was very reasonable as well. However, they didn't have enough 'muscle' to move the piece and my husband had to help them, which is what we were tying to avoid. And, I had specified how heavy the piece was when I requested the quote. Also, they chipped one of the legs. I wouldn't rule out using them again, but might need to verify with the company that the people they send are able to get the job done. read more

A JOB WELL DONE!!! I heard about Dolly a month ago on 93.3 and downloaded the app immediately. I own a salon and have needed to get a fridge to my break room for 6 months now. It's just been hanging out in my garage. Today was the day, I signed in and uploaded photos and within 30 minutes had a confirmation that it was scheduled for the time I picked. So easy!!! Two guys came, I showed them the fridge, they had it loaded up within 15 minutes. They were polite and knowledgable. Followed me to the salon. Problem solved on how to get the fridge into the room. A trash, terrible company that has poor business practices, no customer support and unreliable movers. I had a simple, standard sized refrigerator move from one location to another. In all of the forms I indicated I was moving a refrigerator. 2 women showed up, and one was concerned she could not lift such a 'heavy item'. They also did not bring blankets, towels, or anything that would prevent dirtying/damage to my home. Instead, the rolled a greasy dolly across my brand new carpet, scratched my floor, scuffed my walls and best of all, they didn't even get the fridge to the correct location. This fiasco took 2 hours. Not only did Dolly have the nerve to charge me, they still have not responded to my request for reimbursement for damages that I filled out on 11/30. So, in the meantime I've paid dolly for an incomplete service and had to repair the damages (that I could myself) while I sit and look at a scratched floor. Will be filing a claim the BBB and pursuing legal action as necessary. read more

Trash service. They NEVER answer their phones and there's no way to set it up online. When you try to do a store pickup and delivery, it asks for the pick up address then the delivery address. However, after entering in that information, it keeps on asking for additional delivery addresses and there's no way to continue until you do that. However, even if you just enter in the same address again it asks for yet another delivery address and so on and on and on. There's no way this business model will succeed. read more

Great service! I picked the "you plus a helper" option for $68 (not including tip), to help me move a queen size mattress, boxspring, and frame 4mi to my new place. In the snow. Of course the day I need to move-out it's freaking snowing. Anyway, he came in a Nissan Frontier and had tarps and straps to secure and protect everything, was 10min early so everything went really fast and he had no problem lifting/moving anything. This was my first time using Dolly and definitely my last. I purchased a chair from Habitat Restore and needed a truck to get it home so I saw the banner in the store and asked for additional information on it. I purchased the chair on 2/9/2021, I went home and installed the app on my phone and set the appointment for 2/10/2021 between 4:40pm and 5:00pm as I was off that day and wanted to get it done asap. My issues with Dolly: I was not able to complete the whole reservation/scheduling screen even after my payment was processed. i finally got confirmation sj259859 but the reservation date was changed to 2/11/2021. The app was setup around 1:35 mst and the confirmation came back around 2:41pm the same day 2-10-2021. T he time was also changed to 5:30pm 2/11 (which was inaccurate). I tried emailing customer support twice to get the dates changed and received notification saying someone woul get back to me in a few hours and it never! happened . I was also contacted by my helper to see if there was going to be someone to help him load up the chair and I responded back to him I was a new customer and didn't know. My complaints are that I never got a follow up regarding the appointment date and time, I sent text messages to the helper that the date for pickup was actually 2/10 and not 2/11 and also the time correction and got no more communication that evening from him regarding changing the pickup. i received a confirmation from Dolly saying my original date was confirmed between 4:30 and 5:00pm but long story short nobody showed up on 2/10 2nd issue is there is no direct number t call so I had to go back into the app to see if there was contact info and found a number 206-494-3198 for a designated agent so I called the number on 2-11- 21 @ 09:20 and spoke to a CSR Named Mark , This person was so rude didn't listen to my complaint and basically called me a liar regarding my account of events stating the "system had to have time to contact a helper and it was impossible that my date was confirmed for 2/10 And I was told the confirmation that i received didnt mean anything, the call lasted 16 minutes and I offered to send my screen shot and asked where to send it and Mark never gave me a number or email address, bottom line is I almost cancelled the transaction with my bank because even after the date was set to 2/11/ the chair was still not picked up on that day because the helper went to Habitat after they had closed for the evening even after i told them they closed early. I went on and payed the company there $121.00 I was charged as well as tip the helper because even with the pandemic small business needs o be supported, but the lack of compassion exhibited by the CSR is inexcusable and needs to be note. We booked a mover through "Hire A Helper" approx 3-4 weeks in advance of our trip. We received confirmation at the time and even another confirmation approx 3 days before their date with a warning of cancellation fee if we cancelled within 24 hrs. Then, while on the road to the location where we needed the mover, we received a call from the mover stating that "they couldn't find anyone to move us on the date/time we'd already confirmed" "Could we possibly move it out one day?" Our plans did not allow for that and we told them so. They said our only other option was to go with another more expensive mover - at our expense, of course. When we told them that was not an option either, they said they'd have to cancel us. They left us completely high and dry. Edited - while the movers did bang up my old home's banisters, I will say they eventually resolved my claim, even though they never really communicated with me, just a refund went back onto the CC I was using. So they were efficient, and on time, they eventually did resolve my issue. While the movers who handled my move were fine, they banged up the banisters in my old home. I put in a claim to have the banisters fixed, and after a month of back and forth, the Dolly Customer Service / Claim team has gone completely radio silent to my requests for updates on where my claim is in their process. If you think your move is covered and that they will take care of you in the event they break something. Look elsewhere!!! read more

The estimates I got from moving companies ranged from $140-$375 Dolly did it for under $100 and reassembled it too. It was tricky but between the three of us, we got it done. Paid on-line. What an ordeal! Truck arrived, driver asked right off if he could remove his shirt (ewwwwwww). Truck looked like it had been fished out of a junk yard. Truck broke down on the way to delivery site. Every call to Dolly was a 15 - 30 minute hold. Had to correct the delivery address THREE times. Which was not a charm, driver still ended up on the opposite side of Denver. Now been four hours and still no sign of truck. Perhaps spend the extra few dollars and hire Two Men and a Truck...........don't use Dolly. read more

We use Dolly as our delivery service at work to deliver closets to customers and it was always so smooth and a wonderful. I decided they were the company I wanted to hire to move a couch (pregnant and baby coming in 3 days) but dolly has rescheduled or canceled about 5 times. Not smooth, no communication and I can't find a number to call and no one responds to my ticket. Sad that they're so good to use for work, but yeah...definitely not recommending to anyone ever again, and definitely not using for myself anymore. read more

Wow this is a cool service. It's an Uber-like service that matches people needing items delivered with people who have the means (such as a truck) to deliver. I had to use it twice in one day because the item I initially purchased would not fit down my stairs. But those two guys sure did try. So they returned the item to the store for me. I selected another item, then created a new Dolly. The next set of dolly delivery folks were just as great at the first pair. I like how the app informs you of when someone accepts your dolly, when they are at the pick-up location and when they are on their way to your location. For someone like me, without a truck, this is a great service. Very convenient and efficient. I will use the service again. read more

I will never use dolly again. I had requested a dolly 2 months ago. I was told I would be told who my team was (I requested 2 helpers-labor only, as we had rented the uhaul ourselves). We were only looking for two hours of help to move our stuff about 5 miles away. We were matched with our guys and I connected with them to check on some things and all seemed good. We were set to start at 9:30 am on a Saturday. At 4 am the day of I received a dolly notification that they canceled. Nobody else matched with us and I couldn't even get a hold of dolly because nobody was working for their customer support that early. We had to find last minute movers and only one company responded and we ended up paying an extremely high amount of money (the new movers did a great job but we were not expecting to pay so much for a last minute job. I would NEVER suggest dolly to anybody after this. Nobody was willing to help after they canceled. I will never request this service again. If I could give 0 stars i would. read more

This has been the worst experience I've ever had. They damaged my table on 9/1 and I am still dealing with the "damage claim". They told me that the insurance company had agreed to the damage claim and were sending out a check over 2 weeks ago.... now they're saying they are waiting for the check to be printed? And then the next rep told me that they haven't even received the check. No one seems to know what they're talking about and the rep Milo responds to me over email every few weeks with the same "I'm sorry, we have been busy" How many others are having these claims filed?! I have asked to speak to supervisors and conveniently that's never happened. I am mortified by the lack of customer service and the lack of respect for people who trusted you with their personal belongings. Isn't the whole point of paying extra in insurance for an accident, so that you can be reimbursed if something like this happens? Heard about Dolly at the Habitat for Humanity Restore location where we purchased a massive wood and glass cabinet and then realized we had no way to get it home. They responded within the hour and had us set up the next morning for a pickup and delivery. Our mover Kim T. and his associate were prompt, polite, had everything necessary to move our cabinet and it took less than an hour door to door. It was so quick, easy and efficient (and worth the money to have seasoned movers help us out) that I would definitely recommend using Dolly and hope I can again in the future! read more

Had to get the drivers name and permission from company selling me the item to relinquish Only to SPECIFIC DRIVER Then the driver got changed and the warehouse closed. No customer service. DISASTROUS: I had scheduled them to help me move a couple weeks in advance. Everything was confirmed and the morning of I received a text confirming the time frame, then another text they that were on their way early, then another text saying they had started the call too early and would be closer to on time. Then, ten minutes after they were supposed to arrive, I received a text saying that the team had cancelled the job due to a scheduling conflict and they were trying to find another crew. I replied to the text and sent an email with no response. I had to dig to find a phone number which connected me to a call center that didn't have any more information except that they were trying to find a new crew. An hour later nothing. Hours later nothing. I had to escalate things to a manager and the best I could get was that they had prioritized my request but weren't finding a team and if I could reschedule to the next day, they could try again and offer me $20 off of my move. Dolly is a third party company that contacts the moves out to other companies, so can't control who accepts a job or the actual crews themselves. This was about 6 hours after they were supposed to have arrived. I had zero flexibility in the moving date and was forced to find another company last minute, which mean quadruple the price. But at least they showed up and did the job as promised. I will never use Dolly for any service and advise you to be very careful before relying on them for something as important as a moving your home. read more
