I wish I had more photos to share all the delicious treats and drinks I've ordered from this place but of course they are always too tasty that I forget to capture. Anyways, im so glad my coworkers told Me about this place because it's been a nice addition to my frequent-places-to-visit-on-the-regular list. Honestly there is nothing I've had from this place that isn't good. From their lemonades, coffee, smoothies to their avocado toast, wraps, sandwiches, and cookies. They really nailed down their menu options! Not to mention the biggest thing, their staff is super friendly, welcoming and patient when you're trying to decide what to order. They may be located by the courthouse in Salinas but don't let that stop you for visiting. You won't be disappointed! & if you happen to need to serve jury duty, this is a nice spot to go hangout and enjoy a little break from doing your service. This place is amazing. I ordered catering for 55 sandwiches, salads and chips for a work event it was a HIT! Everyone loved the sandwiches as the ingredients were fresh and they use Otto's sourdough! I wanted to make sure to leave a review for those that are looking to cater a luncheon, send them an email at villariveracafe@gmail.com. Their phone is weird because it is through the govt building and goes straight to voicemail. I also sent them messages on their social channels before finding the email and they responded there too lol... email is way better. When you are trying to find them, they are tucked away under what looks like a bridge of a building in the center of the campus behind two pillars. I hate to admit that I only came across the Villa Rivera last week. Talking with the owner I realize it has been here for three years! Located in the older Joe Mora building, when I walked inside, I was struck by its' open, sleek feeling. The sandwiches, pastries look amazing. I was there for chai. First review of the year and happy to hop on again! Having moved up north I have MANY places to explore and it is a bit overwhelming but in a very good way. I wanted to highlight this amazing cafe located in Salinas, CA. I love their drinks and their pastries and their amazing service. Everyone is so kind here! There is plenty of seating and it is very much a chill atmosphere. While pictured here is a their peanut butter toast on some local sourdough, their chipotle chicken pizza is the absolute best and a must try, please trust me in this. Two things to note: the cafe is located near the courthouse so it can get pretty busy during lunch hours, they close around 3 so keep that in mind if you do plan to visit. The parking is a bit tricky as there is not much street parking available. Be ready for a 5-10 minute walk to your car. This has definitely become by go to cafe if I am in the area! read more

What a hidden gem! Delicious sandwiches on Otto's sourdough (I had the pesto, cheese, tomato today) , a salad bar with lots of options, yummy treats like Rodeo Cookies, and coffee if you need a midday pick me up. Service is friendly and quick. AND bonus points for heating the sandwich in a toaster oven rather than ruining it in a microwave!! Great service and AWESOME local ACME coffee. Enjoyed the Mexican Micah with oat and their yummy avocado toast with local crafted bread ! It was a fun little spot hidden near the court house. This place is a nice cafe! The ambiance is very tranquil. The coffee drinks are unique. Some of them are Mexican inspired. The Mexican mocha was good. My favorite one though was the coconut mocha. It was refreshing to try this different mocha. Loved it! They also had cute little mini conchas. They had a filling inside. Definitely will come back. I'm excited to try all the other drinks they have! The size is good. Pretty big. You get your moneys worth. Definitely one of the best coffee places in Salinas. read more

Craving avocado toast after a good workout in town. This café was the first to pop up on Yelp. Decided to give the spot a shot! Definitely did not disappoint! Located next to the public law library. Happened in here by chance. I had their chipotle egg sandwich and it was great. Way way better than the one I had at super duper burger at home in SF.
