Ashley didn't quite take to me, I think. She kept my 12 lb. Maltipoo for 3.5 hrs. He was shaved down to his skin...uneven shave lines at places... his tail was buzzed, for heaven's sake. Biggest concern: my boy was so shook up when I came to pick him up. It is 4 hrs later now and he is still behaving in a way never witnessed before. The owner shaved my Aussie's stomach, backend and upper legs down to the skin in early January last year. Unbelievable! He was so cold when we went on walks,....it was so hard to believe that the owner did something so mean. She actually smiled/smirked at me when she handed my dog over like she got a thrill out of making his life miserable. I don't like giving bad reviews but I saw her business just now online and thought, I owe it to other dog owners. I'll never go back there again and I hope people will take my experience to heart. Our dog was groomed here two or three times. Each time I dropped him off, the woman who spoke to me was extremely rude to me. And at every drop off and pick up, she was also very pushy about getting my dog neutered. Finally, I told her that we were saving up for it and she responded, "Have you done any research on it at all? It really doesn't cost that much, you should be able to afford it." At the last drop off, she asked me how I wanted my dogs hair cut, "nice and short?" After cutting him too short the last time, I said short but not too short please. She snapped back at me and said a short summer cut is what he needs. So I said ok and my dog's hair was cut so close to the skin that he looked sickly. I really wanted to like this place because it's in my neighborhood, super cute and seems locally owned, but I won't be going back. I don't want to pay good money for a service when the energy I receive is repeatedly negative and condescending. read more

I used this groomer due to a scheduling conflict with another one. It was a thoroughly disappointing experience. They were not expecting me at my appointment time so I had to be 'fitted in'. They lack customer service. All of my requests were ignored. He came back next to bald and now I have to use sunscreen on him. I pointed out a patch of pine sap stuck to his coat and they left it there! I mentioned it so they would cut it out and they worked around it. Very, very lazy effort. I've been gouged and taken advantage of. Twice what I normally pay, in half the time and he looks 10 times worse. Entrepreneurs take heed. This field needs some competition. I took my Havanese, Lily, and my Miniature Schnauzer, Emma, to Dolly's Doggie Salon on January 28, 2022. I told Ashley, the owner of the salon, that Emma had problems at her last groomer because the groomer was rough while brushing her. Ashley immediately got extremely defensive and said that I should not be blaming the groomer because Schnauzers are just rambunctious and difficult to deal with. I did not respond to her comment although I still feel justified in my decision to find a new groomer since the previous one was hurting my puppy. Ashley then went on to question me on what type of haircut I wanted for Emma -- a "teddy bear cut" or a "Schnauzer cut." I asked which she thought would look better and she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed that I would ask such a question. She went on to ask me, "Have you ever owned a Schnauzer before?" I replied that I had owned five previously. She did not respond to that. I really did not know what a teddy bear cut was, so I told her I just did not want Emma shaved which is another thing that the previous groomer had done. I also said I wanted her to look like a Schnauzer. I then asked how long the grooming would take. Ashley said four hours since she had never groomed Lily and Emma in the past. She said that I could call to inquire about the progress of the grooming, but I could not come to the shop under any circumstances. I waited four hours and at 1:00 p.m., I called Dolly's. Ashley answered the telephone and I asked how close she was to finishing the grooming of Lily and Emma. Her comment was "Why?" I said that I lived approximately 25 minutes from her shop so I thought I could start driving there and, hopefully, the puppies would be ready to go home by the time I arrived. She told me to wait ten more minutes before starting out which is what I did. When I arrived at Dolly's, Ashley's first comment was that Emma's legs were very matted and that she was difficult to handle. We brush Emma every day, therefore I know that her legs were not matted. As it turned out, Ashley not only cut Emma's beard (a very distinguishing characteristic of Schnauzers), but she shaved her chest so close that her skin is showing (photos attached). Needless to say, my entire experience at Dolly's was uncomfortable and rather upsetting. Ashley should not own a grooming salon if she cannot communicate in a friendly, kind, caring manner with the people who come to her shop and are paying a rather excessive amount of money for her services. She also does not listen to the requests of her customers regarding their preferences. She does exactly what she wants to do regardless of the impact she is having on the dog and its owner. Her rudeness and brashness toward me made me wonder how she treats the dogs when the owners are not around. I will not be returning to this shop and would never recommend it to my friends. Wow, the ladies did a great job. This was my first time at a groomer. Joycie looks and feels amazing! I made a faux paw and showed up early since I was in the neighborhood. Next time I will wait for my call to pick up. It's day care all over again, this time with a dog. The place looked clean and when I did pick up Joycie, there were lots of dogs, all getting along and happy! All in all, we are happy and Joycie has a spring in her step and is beautiful. read more

I've brought my dog in a couple times to be groomed here , and here's the deal - Ashley who is the owner I believe , is super rude . The other lady who has dark hair , is not . So The last time I brought my dog in they raised the prices for no reason , they wouldn't describe as to why . I still decided to go back considering it's a 5 minute walk from my house and the nice lady who usually works with my dog is pleasant to work with , does a decent job . The most recent appointment he had today was with Ashley - the not so nice lady , we were running about 8 minutes late when I called to apologize and ask if there was any way we could still make the appointment and she LITERALLY said " how soon can you come in ? " I said hopefully 15-20 minutes? She speaks very fast and sounded irritated and said " Because it's passed 11" . I told her Okay- guess I'll just reschedule later or something she said "because we're booked out until the end of May " and hangs up . What a a miserable weirdo. Like I'm lucky to bring my dog here or something ? Her personal skills are that of a wet mop , She is clearly angry and needs a vacation away from her job . read more

As you'll see, from my YELP history, I don't post negative reviews. I am a nice person so during this experience I said very little. I was so blown away by the rudeness, from the moment I walked in. This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a groomer or otherwise. I brought my dog in and he was dirty and in need of grooming. My guess is they are used to grooming dogs that need a shampoo and nails trimmed or have a monthly grooming apt. and are pristine to begin with. She was rude and made fun of the fact I had clipped him myself, then proceeded to tell me I needed to get him fixed. Last time I checked, having my dog fixed was my choice. Couldn't even handle some matting on his feet which I had clipped almost completely before I brought him in. I have taken mats completely off of him that were that big many many times with no problem. She told me I would need to have them surgically removed and maybe I could do that after the procedure to get him fixed. Really, what? I have had many dogs in my life and in turn many groomers. I have NEVER been treated so rudely in my life by someone who was supposed to be providing a service. I'm sure they do a great job if there's nothing of any difficulty to be done. If my dog only needed a shampoo and his nails trimmed I can do that myself, and sure as heck wouldn't pay them $50 to do it for me. In the end she wouldn't even groom him she made me come right back, after I'd already gotten home, and pick him up. Suggestion to them: Put some sort of disclaimer that if your dog has mats we will not deal with them. I wish I could find my old Groomer Diana she was awesome!!!!!! read more

I've been bringing my dog here since 2017 and while they've done a good job with the grooming, the comments have bothered me from the beginning. Today was the last straw. I have a Shih Tzu who has incredibly soft, incredibly easy to matt hair. It's a constant challenge, especially because she HATES being groomed. I've spent tons of money on various products trying to find anything that will make it easier on her. She doesn't even like to be brushed. So you can imagine that when I bring her in, she often has matting in her fur. I feel awful, but that's why you use a dog groomer right?? Well, I guess according to them, no. I don't know if they expect a perfectly brushed dog to enter the salon, but after reading other reviews, I know this hasn't only happens to me. I get remarks about her matting that is condescending and judgmental. Well today, my husband dropped her off, and she proceeded to lecture him about our dogs fur, telling him she'd need to be shaved and that we needed to bring her in sooner (I actually tried to get her in in July and there were no openings, then again in August, and today in September was the earliest they could see her) 3 months is not that long AND how can I get her in when they have no openings??? Then she calls me when they're done and tells me that she was matted etc...and is she fixed? I said no, and she says, um, you need to do that. You need to get that done. Uh ok, last time I checked, you're the groomer, not the vet, oh and also, that's none of your damn business. I do feel bad because I didn't realize she had just gone into heat and apparently had some dogs all hot and bothered over there. But you can't just politely ask me if I realized she was in heat? No, instead she literally demands that I need to fix her after also asking her age. I was in shock and didn't know what to say on the spot. So we get off the phone and my husband goes to pick her up, and she then asks him if we even hold her! Because she was nervous at the groomer! They've been seeing her for 3 years! She is nervous every.single.time. Our dog sleeps with us, practically lives on the couch, and is loved by our family! I can't believe that she was insinuating that we neglect her and don't hold her because she doesn't like being groomed! Tons of dogs don't like being groomed! Both my husband and I are so ticked off. I don't know why she thinks she has the right to lecture customers and demand that they make certain choices with their pets! So rude! We've had positive experiences with them as well, but this was just crossing the line. We can find another dog groomer that can do just as good of a job but treat us with respect. read more

Today was my first time taking my Lab and Golden to Dolly's for spa day :) I have tried several places but have still been in search of a groomer that I love. I am very impressed after my first visit. They were ready and waiting for them when I arrived and alerted me that they were done right at the time I was quoted. When I pulled up both of the kids were ready for me looking out the glass door with smiles on their faces, bows in their hair and a scarf around the neck. I asked for smell-good clean, soft and fluffy and that's exactly what I got! I am in high hopes that I have found the place I've been looking for. My senior Beagle desperately needs his nails trimmed but he is so fussy and such a drama queen it's very hard to find someone that can do it. Ashley and company were able to get them cut and filed...nothing short of a miracle. I could not be more happy and so was my Beagle when I picked him up. The girls at Dolly's are absolutely wonderful! Today was my first time bringing in my big boy (~100 lbs golden retriever), and they took great care of him! Even scheduling an appointment was relatively easy (they communicate call and/or text, which made it easy for me). They texted me when he was almost ready, giving me time grab my things and get my pup. When I got there, he was happy and wagging, with a sparkling, brushed and trimmed coat. They also filed his nails down a bit, which was needed! One thing I really like is that they let the dogs free-roam and play afterwards (my boy tries to be a bully to other dogs sometimes, but apparently the other dogs put him in his place, and everyone played just fine after)! You can definitely tell those ladies at Dolly's love dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving my pooch in their hands, and was more than satisfied by the level of grooming put into my dog. I went to this doggie salon for 8 months with my dog. One time they shaved my dog and it was awful, it was patchy and even got so close to her skin that I could see that it was bleeding at one point from the scabs. I have a golden doodle and she cut her eyelashes which is completely unheard of for that bread. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a one time thing. I went back a few more times, until this last time. They told me they'd have to shave her and I nicely mentioned what happened last time and asked if she could make sure to not cut her eyelashes. The lady rolled her eyes at me, told me if I wanted a second opinion I could go get one, and they were so rude to me. I always paid so much money and tipped well! But I will never take my dog here again or recommend them to anyone. read more

SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I know that the ladies love the dogs but the way they treat customers is unbelievable. I had asked for a haircut upon booking, confirmed the morning of of the haircut and then when I went to pick up my dog they had only given him a bath stating that a haircut was never discussed. I showed them the text messages and confirmation from them and they continued to refuse it. I left feeling unheard, and mistreated. This is not good customer service, nor a business that I feel good giving my money to. If they can't admit mistakes and make things right, then it is not a business that I am willing to support. I made an appointment for my Chow Chow here a couple weeks ago and was surprised to walk into a very small, chaotic room full of animals out of cages and barking madly at my dog. Then, the groomer proceeded to tell me that my dog was in "such horrible condition" that she would have to shave her, which is horrible for Chows' skin in general but even worse for mine because she allergies. I explained this to her and asked if we could just focus on brushing and cutting yet she replied by saying that I could go somewhere else if that wasn't okay with me, so I did. No groomer in my dog's 11 years has ever needed to shave her, no matter her condition. I can only guess that she couldn't be honest and up front to explain that she was too inexperienced to groom a Chow. Then, after being visibly surprised and disappointed by our exchange, the groomer had the guts to make fun of my dog by calling her "fuzz butt" as we walked out to our car. This whole establishment is completely unprofessional from its physical space to its customer service. It's a huge shame that it exists in such a nice neighborhood. Since then, I finally found a groomer at Extreme Pet Grooming on Five Mile who treated my dog with respect and groomed her to look absolutely beautiful, without even one spot shave or complaint about the work being too difficult. AND the price was lower than my quote at Dolly's. The space was peaceful, clean, and well managed by those who truly know what's best for their clients. It's true that Dolly's is probably great with certain dogs out there, but my experience certainly was anything but positive.
