    Dolly's Doggie Salon did a beautiful job on our Golden Retriever! They were friendly and professional! We are thrilled to find a quality groomer!

    I took my Havanese, Lily, and my Miniature Schnauzer, Emma, to Dolly's Doggie Salon on January 28, 2022. I told Ashley, the owner of the salon, that Emma had problems at her last groomer because the groomer was rough while brushing her. Ashley immediately got extremely defensive and said that I should not be blaming the groomer because Schnauzers are just rambunctious and difficult to deal with. I did not respond to her comment although I still feel justified in my decision to find a new groomer since the previous one was hurting my puppy. Ashley then went on to question me on what type of haircut I wanted for Emma -- a "teddy bear cut" or a "Schnauzer cut." I asked which she thought would look better and she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed that I would ask such a question. She went on to ask me, "Have you ever owned a Schnauzer before?" I replied that I had owned five previously. She did not respond to that. I really did not know what a teddy bear cut was, so I told her I just did not want Emma shaved which is another thing that the previous groomer had done. I also said I wanted her to look like a Schnauzer. I then asked how long the grooming would take. Ashley said four hours since she had never groomed Lily and Emma in the past. She said that I could call to inquire about the progress of the grooming, but I could not come to the shop under any circumstances. I waited four hours and at 1:00 p.m., I called Dolly's. Ashley answered the telephone and I asked how close she was to finishing the grooming of Lily and Emma. Her comment was "Why?" I said that I lived approximately 25 minutes from her shop so I thought I could start driving there and, hopefully, the puppies would be ready to go home by the time I arrived. She told me to wait ten more minutes before starting out which is what I did. When I arrived at Dolly's, Ashley's first comment was that Emma's legs were very matted and that she was difficult to handle. We brush Emma every day, therefore I know that her legs were not matted. As it turned out, Ashley not only cut Emma's beard (a very distinguishing characteristic of Schnauzers), but she shaved her chest so close that her skin is showing (photos attached). Needless to say, my entire experience at Dolly's was uncomfortable and rather upsetting. Ashley should not own a grooming salon if she cannot communicate in a friendly, kind, caring manner with the people who come to her shop and are paying a rather excessive amount of money for her services. She also does not listen to the requests of her customers regarding their preferences. She does exactly what she wants to do regardless of the impact she is having on the dog and its owner. Her rudeness and brashness toward me made me wonder how she treats the dogs when the owners are not around. I will not be returning to this shop and would never recommend it to my friends. Terrible experience.

    Wow, the ladies did a great job. This was my first time at a groomer. Joycie looks and feels amazing! I made a faux paw and showed up early since I was in the neighborhood. Next time I will wait for my call to pick up. It's day care all over again, this time with a dog. The place looked clean and when I did pick up Joycie, there were lots of dogs, all getting along and happy! All in all, we are happy and Joycie has a spring in her step and is beautiful.

    Once again, our pup returned looking incredible! Even better than I had remembered. He was once again incredibly happy afterwards. We appreciate all the effort at a great cost that Dolly's provides.

Dropping her off at the previous groomers, she'd have those sad puppy-dog eyes and a somewhat panicked behavior as I was leaving her. Not like leaving a child at kindergarten, but more like she knew she was gonna get hurt. When I'd pick her up she acted like she was making a jailbreak. She probably would have drug me out of the place if she could. That is not a joke - she would have. Last time after being home awhile, I discovered dried blood in the fur of her ears. She'd been more and more fearful with every grooming drop-off and suddenly I had evidence of why. That was what prompted me to look for another spot and the good reviews convinced me to give Groomingtails a try and we are very pleased with their treatment of our pup and their work. Here's something amazing I have to add: I don't know why but ever since her grooming, when it is rainy and I bring the pup in and I give her a quick dry with a bath towel SHE SMELLS FRESH WITH THE SCENT SHE HAD FROM LAST GROOMING! I am floored. She is about to have her next grooming and that still works weeks after her last grooming. THAT, is lasting results! And her teeth were pure-white when they were done! Now she wants to drink her coffee through a straw,... oh, wait, that's my wife that does that! Anyway, yeah, it cost more but she's treated gently and the job is done well and I don't feel like I am handing her over to be tortured! I just hope their prices don't go up anytime soon! Madi was grooming my dog and I attempted to show her some of the problem areas which I physically pointed out instead she seemed disinterested and just said Okay he'll be ready in 2-3 hrs. The service ended up taking just under 4 hrs since she said it took her longer with some of the matting. In total she ended up charging me $20 over what I was quoted which even the quote was higher than what I had paid here when I still lived in Boise and his coat was in worse shape right after adopting him. It wasn't until 40 min later when I got home that I noticed his collar wasn't on when I called they told me to come back today because they were leaving in 15 min in the most insincere customer service voice with no concern for the mistake she made. When I did come in to get the collar today another women greeted me politely but when I asked for a partial refund to cover the hour of my time I wasted and the gas I used to get there and back her body language shifted and she blunted stated we don't do that here. When I did get back to my house with collar in hand I examined his coat more in depth after putting the collar back on and the matting I clearly pointed out was still there. I have gone to snoopy's probably 5 times and this was a horrible experience I'm never going back.

    Poor customer service! I had booked an appointment (with Stacy) weeks out due to my regular groomer…read morehaving severe staffing shortages. I ended up traveling when the appointment was, so I called the week (four days prior to appointment) of and left a message. Actually left two messages as their machine cut me off on the first message. Canine Design called me back, however, in an area with no service. I called them on Wednesday and left a detailed message cancelling appointment...said two times my full name, phone number, my pups name, and that I would be cancelling the appointment. They did call on Thursday however, I was still in an area not getting service. I finally got into service area on Friday to find that they did not "confirm" cancelation and would not return my $40 fee (which they charged out at time of appt.). I believe it was a Natalie I was talking to and she was "sure" she talked to me on Tuesday and I said "I would call her back to confirm cancellation." My phone records do not show this and I was in area with no service. I tried to see if possibly I was mistaken with another client and she was like "No!". They was no way she made a mistake at all, is how she came across in her communications. I did not refute that Canine Designed advised me of the $40 fee, however, it was not clear that it would be charged at time of appointment rather charged if you did not show. Also, I called to cancel and left 3 voice mails confirming cancelation prior to the appointment. They did not want to work with me on returning the fee. I am sad to see this type of customer service at local establishments. I did the right thing by calling to cancel prior to the appointment so they could open appointment to someone else. I ended up getting the raw deal due to an employee overlooking (my assessment of the situation). I ended up paying $40, for NOTHING. I would look into the a different groomer with a better customer service procedures and mentality.

Almost two years later I finally got a poodle puppy and immediately scheduled her for Stacey's puppy package. My puppy (Merci) was almost 12 weeks old by the time I got her, which is when their first fear stage starts. I was thankful Merci could go to the salon and simply hang around the environment for an hour or two to just become accustomed to the noise, people, dogs, etc. The puppy package is three grooming sessions scheduled 2 weeks apart and ever since our first appointment Merci has been happy and excited when we enter the salon! Priceless! Stacey has years of experience with both grooming and training and is able to grow a dog's confidence and skills at an incredible rate. Stacey had competed successfully in Confirmation, Obedience, and Agility and that experience shines through as she handles dogs. She also runs a small grooming school to help other adults who want to be dog groomers reach their dreams! I have been very impressed with Canine Design and I am so blessed to have found a grooming salon that I can trust and that my dog loves! Thank you Canine Design, Stacey, and Team!!
