I stopped at Dolmas on my way to the train station and got a breakfast burrito, which was filling to the point that I ate half when I started my journey and the other half toward the end of my journey. What exactly is this place? From the outside, it looks sort of like a nightclub and the inside is a mix of take-out seating and lounge vibe. It claims to be a deli, but it serves a menu more like a diner than a deli, and the deli sandwich I ordered was completely bizarre? It's confusing. I was looking for a deli because I wanted a classic deli sandwich I could eat in the car on a long drive out of Oakland. I ordered a reuben, sub turkey, no other changes. The classic preparation would be rye toast, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and, in this case, turkey. What I got was the strangest deli sandwich I've ever eaten. It seemed to be turkey on greasy grilled white bread with mozzarella cheese and a sauce like liquidy mustard with chopped up cucumbers in it. It was nothing like what I ordered. But here's the thing: I did like it. Strange flavors, but I demolished it. And the people were nice enough. So I'll stand by a 4-star rating. If you don't really care about getting exactly what you ordered, you'll probably like it. read more

Tried out this sandwich place that is popular with my workplace. Quick and simple eat when you need it. The sandwich isn't fancy but hits the spot and is relatively cheap compared to other sandwich spots. I got a salami sandwich and had no issues with it. This is long overdue! There are very few places in Jack London Square (JLS) to grab lunch to go, but Dolma's is definitely not a consolation prize for those who work in the area. And they're reasonable! Most of the places around here require sit down dining, but here I can walk out of here under $10. You can get your standard deli sandwiches, get healthy Mediterranean options like stuffed dolmades (you see what they did there? Haha) and tabbouleh, or go ham and get a burger and fries. Today I opted for a bacon cheeseburger and fries, and I'm stuffed! The burger was grilled to order and the cheese was melted deliciousness. The fries were also good and thick like diner fries. I couldn't finish them all but they were awesome. Normally I get a BLT (which isn't skimpy on the bacon) and one of the kettle brand chips they sell. Either way you can't go wrong. They take credit cards and have a nice waiting area for to go orders. Quick and efficient so I can haul my butt back to work! Soooo good! I work in Jack London Square about 3 times a week and now I know where I will be going for lunch every time I don't bring one. I'm writing this as I devour the last few bites of my chicken walnut salad, it's soooooo good! I work in JLS and always felt that there were no good lunch spots in the area. I used to grab my salads from Montse's a few blocks down, but would end up paying $20+ for lunch. Dolma's salads are delicious and under $10. The portions are just enough to fill you up, without leaving you with unwanted leftovers. The raspberry vinagairette on this walnut salad is to die for and not overly sweet or tart. When I first started working at Jack London Square, everybody kept recommending me to try out Dolma's. This was a year ago, when Dolma's Deli was still in the 200 block, next to the Adult store. Never got to try it. Then I heard news that they moved, are remodeling, and keeping the same great menu that they've always had. Yay. Another chance to try it. Once it opened, I noticed how nicely renovated everything was. The space is clean, the staff is nice, and they had a good array of things on their menu. Omelets, Hash brows, Waffles, Salads, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Soups, Sandwiches. Pretty good selection for a deli. I came here a couple of times for a salad. It's nothing that special. But then again, it's hard to mess up or make a salad all that special. The ingredients were fresh, most of the different choices were well balanced, and like most salads, it left you feeling satisfied for a good hour before it's gone. I do plan on coming back here for a well priced lunch. This is probably one of the 2 places, in Jack London Square, that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for healthy options for lunch. read more

I was on my way to another spot, but heard some nice chill lounge music coming out of here, so thought I'd check it out. No reviews on yelp yet, but for me it was an ideal little spot to grab a quick sandwich for lunch, and a fine BLT it was! Very spacious inside, comfortable seating, clean, nice attention to detail, even a couple of couches, plug sockets for laptops or whatever (not sure if they have wifi), and plenty of sandwiches (hot n cold), burgers, soups, and salads, along with a tuck shop style wall of snacks and cold drinks (any place that serves lemon Sal Pellegrino is a winner in my books). Grabbed some chips, got in like to order, When I got up to the register I ordered a turkey sandwich, Since it was my first time here I asked the cashier what comes on the sandwiches. This place has yet to disappoint. My team and I (General Contractor, building in Jack London Square) started work in the area a few months ago. Dolma Deejis Deli has been our go to spot for both breakfast and lunch. Prices are extremely reasonable and with a decent menu. Staff are always friendly as well. Plenty of seating and Deli is always pretty clean. Breakfast burritos and burgers are a must! My personal favorite has been the Turkey Avocado Swiss sandwich. Oh and they also accept Apple Pay (which can be very convenient when forgetting your wallet). read more

My wife and I ordered salads to go, a Pear & Pecan, and Cobb Salad. Other than a huge pile of fresh lettuce, there was barely any toppings. The Cobb Salad had maybe 1/4 of a half a chicken breast, a few bacon bits, NO blue cheese, and an egg halved. For $7.95 it was a joke. The Pear Salad has Pear slices, a few pecans, and blue cheese. Hardly any toppings. The raspberry vinaigrette was thick and sweet like pancake syrup. Nothing like feeling completely ripped off. Especially when we'd initially looked at what others were eating - all big sandwiches and other salads full of toppings being eaten inside. Ours looked like they'd come from a different restaurant. But below that was a gyro option for $5.45. Yeah, that affordable. I didn't see the rotating oven and the cashier didn't understand the question but at less than $6 I was in. While waiting, I checked out the pretty swanky interior - this place probably kills in the mornings for those working in the area. Also saw another guest ordered the cheeseburger and it looked legit! Before I knew it, I got my gyro and met up with my friend to enjoy our food by the water. The gyro was pre-sliced gyro meat, but it was still really tasty and they did pack enough of it, and lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatiki into a fluffy pita. This is probably the best bang for your buck meal I've had. No idea how long they'll be able to keep those prices up so I recommend taking advantage if you need a fast, quick bite around Jack London. read more
