We chose this place as it was near the home of a friend we were there to visit. The place itself is nice, simple and the room was fine. Our first issue was the hand towel and bath towel both were dirty. The hand towel had make up on it. The real issue was that when we got back and tried to take a shower we could not get the water to go up so we ended up using a plastic cup to shower. Since they don't have anyone in the front desk after 7 or 8 pm we could not call anyone. The hadn towel and bath towel were replaced as we noticed that when we got there. When checking out we told the person in the front desk and he told us that this was a common issue as they had this weird system for the shower ( which I have no idea why they would use such a system in a 2 star hotel). The person in the front desk told me that they used to have a display in the front desk to teach people how to operate it but it was not there any more. What I could believe was what happened next. I posted a review in Google and the hotel owner responded with an insult and a lie. The owner said we were shown how to operate the shower and that perhaps it was too "modern for" us. Very disappointed. Made a reservation 1 month in advance. I was asked what type of room I wanted. I asked for 1st floor king poolside, was told they did not have one poolside but could acomidate me street side. No problem as long as it's first floor because I have bad knees and can't walk the stars (no elevator). Arrived with my reservation was told they did not have a king avalable. I asked why they asked me what type of room I want if they can't acomidate the request. A get away weekend with my girl and we are sleeping in seporate beds. Will never stay or recommend this place to anyone. There's a Holiday Inn across the street for next time. I'm updating my review. I had a friends help me, they had a couple take a 2nd floor room and I took their first floor room with a king size bed. After about 10 seconds I realised why they were so quick to give up this room. The bed was broken, I mean broken. The bed frame was crushed on one side to the point the mattress sloped from the middle of the bed to the floor. I could not sleep in the bed it was like I was sliding down a hill. I let my girl sleep on the good side and I slept in a chair. There was one good thing, my girl said the pillows were great. I've stayed twice in the last few months. The place has it's good and bad. Price is reasonable, A simple breakfast of a couple eggs prepared as you request prepared as you like. Only $7.00. The local Holiday Inn offers a free breakfast, but its really just factory food. Made elsewhere, microwaved ad put under a hot lamp. If you can eat that more than two days you're better person than I. I have had some dissappointments with their room service, often came back to my room unserviced although I know I put the sign "service please" out the maids marked me up as I had the do not disturb sign out. I have discussed this with the front desk and perhaps I don't work within their system. I tip maids each day, rather than at the end to make sure the housekeeper who actually gets the money so I'm sure it's not deliberate. Somehow they seem to have a breakdown in their housekeeping service. I always had what I needed but its an issue I have nevr had at another motel. read more

I have stayed at the resort for business and pleasure for third time. It is a great deal for the cost and It is well located. The rooms are very clean, staff is very nice. The beds are ok not like mine at home but they are ok. It can get a little loud but they shut the music down early so it did not bug me. The tiki hut is a great amenity good food, good drinks, a great place to hang out while relaxing and sunning at the pool. I give the resort a 4 out of 5 simply due to the beds. They could more comfortable but all in all I would highly recommend it to my friends. P.S. They do have laundry machines on the property. read more

The hotel was kinda nice. The rooms had absolutely nothing spectacular about them. Small, uncomfortable beds. Small shower and bathroom. Not worth the $200. The pool was nice and uncrowded even though the hotel was full. The tiki bar was another story. Crap service and crap food. Only one bartender helped us and that took a while. Them our bill was like $32 and we gave her $45 expecting change and it never came. We won't patron here again. It is better to go to public and buy your own then sit by the pool and hang out. Location is prime if you like to be near great bars and restaurants, Cape Coral Yacht Club Beach, Pine Island/Matlacha, the southern bridge to Mt Myers, etc...Very Clean. Nice, helpful staff. Great pool/tiki bar and restaurant. Live music. Great new shower heads/toilets, tile floor is nice nut a tad slippery. Only complaint are the beds. Woke up with backaches. Loud, springy, no headboards, not comfortable. Invest in new beds and I'll definitely be back. Great place! read more

Never again. Our second time here. Must be new management. There was no top sheet on bed, had to go ask for one, no toilet paper 2nd day, had to go find some, lukewarm showers for 2 days . No cleaning of room, 4th day even when we put out sign. When they did stop by today all we got was 1 toilet paper, some towels, but the sinks weren't cleaned, floor wasn't swept, despite obvious crumbs and dirt, and no new glasses. Pool great. read more

Had a reservation 9/15-9/17, due to Hurricane Irma, we had to cancel. I called the hotel on 9/9, there was a recording stating due to Irma they were closed, so I left a message and wrote and email to them stating I would like to reschedule for next month. Called again on 9/15, got recording, left another message. Called again on 9/17, someone answered, stated they can't do anything and I will need to speak with management when they are back on 9/28. I got an email from the business stating they cannot rebook for next month because they are full and I could not get a refund because it was past my check in date. When I call, no managers are available to speak to. Very rude. No concept of customer service. I really wanted to stay here, now there is no way I ever would. read more

We booked a room at this Motel. We arrived around 8pm. Lobby was dark and CLOSED -- NO ONE THERE !! We went to their Tiki Bar, and the Server coincidentally overheard us discussing this mess. He contaqcted the bar manager who gave us a code to a box we couldn'f find !! We had to go through a SCAVENGER HUNT to get our key !! Clearly had we known the lobby closed at 5 we would have stayed elsewhere -- check in is supposed to be an easy experience. She said she left us voicemails --I never got them - I was on a plane !! The only good thing about our stay was the shower head. Even if the walls weren't paper thin, even if the windows didn't leak loads of bright light into the room all night, even if there weren't roaming bands of drunks wandering around the door all night...the bed, sweet mother of Jesus,THE BED!!! I could feel each individual coil and one poked out so much it left a bruise where I slept on it. We left early because after 3 nights of it we were both in pain. That's insane. Being woken by screaming kids in the pool only 7 hours after the deafening music stopped was a special treat.The included breakfast was a joke, the coffee even had an employee gagging and that was the only thing on the table that looked vaguely appealing. The last day we were there some crackhead hooker hung out by our room all day and chainsmoked while yelling into her cell phone. We're going to be travelling to the Cape often as we build there, but it seems your "resort" is geared more towards drunks than travelers. I didn't expect the Ritz, but I also didn't expect to be in a place that seemed like it should be rented by the hour either. I suspect that they are used to people leaving early since when we did the employee checking us out neither seemed surprised nor did he ask if anything was wrong with our stay. In the effort to give whatever credit is due, the place is clean, the employees were friendly, and the location can't be beat. They were slightly cheaper than their chain competition (word to the wise...the chain hotel is literally only one block away) but is saving a couple bucks worth it? For those who are thinking, "Is it really THAT bad?", I would encourage you to maybe only book the first night of your trip so that you can easily change course when you see for yourself. read more

The rooms and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. We did have an issue when we arrived as one of our rooms the keys didn't work. We had to reprogram the keys multiple time and get maintenance out to help us to which they were polite and happy. Once we resolved that issues we then ventured to the "heated" pool that was no where near heated. My guest and I where having a great time till the owner came out to yell at my friend for smoking to close to the building. We told her (at the time not knowing she was the owner) that the maintenance man just told us to smoke in the parking lot and she then replied by saying "well I own the place so I kinda know what I'm doing". In my opinion that was just rude as hell. Other then that so far so good. This is in response to the owner responding to my review for starters I don't smoke it was my friend who was smoking I was making the comment because you came up very rudely and disrespecting me and my guess my guest was not smoking directly near the rooms he had moved away to the sidewalk and you told him to move even further my children were nowhere near it if anything my children were closer to the smoke when you were smoking in the dining room and they were to when he was smoking by my room. read more

Not gonna lie - I was a little concerned about staying here based on some of the reviews but really overall, it wasn't too bad. Yes, it's an old building and the walls are thin so you can clearly hear your neighbors and anyone walking by outside but it's decently clean and the rooms and vanity area were more spacious than expected. A/C worked great and helped drown out the external noise of rude noisy people. Beds were more comfortable than I anticipated and we both slept pretty well. The decision to put tile over cement floors across the entire room looks nice and probably makes cleaning much easier. However I believe the tile aids in elevating outside noise (someone in the room next door apparently had little heels on and we could hear every click of every footstep back and forth across their room). Also, I would suggest using caution running in from the pool if you're still wet as you don't want to slip on the tile. We stayed one night as we only came down to support our daughter and her high school group in a competition in the area so I believe we benefited from a group rate. But as mentioned above, overall not too bad for the price. read more

I wouldn't bring my kids here (if I had any). They have a very loud live band every night for 4 hours! I've never heard of a hotel doing that, it's so ridiculous. People go to hotels to relax and sleep not listen to live music. The beds were extremely "springy" and bouncy. Besides those two things it was an okay stay. The room seemed pretty clean and we had no issues. Just be warned about the loud band. I would stay here again. read more

First, the office only open from 9-5 p.m. Not what is says on yelp. You are only get your keys to get in your room from 4-5 p.m. No one is there for the rest of the evening. It was so noisy because of the bar and people were drunk. AC was not working, Bed were not made, Drunks and fighting all over. Motorcycles were going around and around to wake up everyone. Speeding cars. Smell of mildew, the bed was wet with humidity, had to sleep on top of comforter with the wool blanket. Office close at 5 p.m. so there was no one there to complain to. No security around the premises Clean up person only changed the towels did not clean at all....I would not recommend it to no one. Locals uses your parking spot and we had to park at the end by the field...not acceptable. Sorry if I didn't bullet the paragraphs. I am very upset. I want some money back. I called the office to complain and even the Manager didn't even return my call. The place is good for young people that likes hard rock and bars. Not recommended for older people like us. read more

Great value for a stay. Clean room, they allowed us to check in early and store our luggage. Sounds crazy but I loved the shower head, so soothing after being out in the sun. The tiki hut had great food and friendly staff and happy customers. Band started early and quit at 11, so we got a good night's sleep on good beds. I'll stay here again, for sure. read more

I just wish they did not allow smoking in and around the bar area because it blows into the pool area. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast ok. Only problem is our shower did not work properly. I'm a local resident and I love that they allow us the use of the pool area. For months we have been telling management that they should have waitresses run the pool area. Yesterday I returned and guess what they finally listened. Had a great waitress Miriam from miami who took great care of me and my friends. Please read my review below. DO NOT STAY HERE. The owner flat out lies. They were contacted the night my staff member could not stay in the room due to bugs in the bed and all over the room. They replied to my bad review by saying I let them know a week later about the unacceptable room. THEY WERE CALLED THE VERY NIGHT IT OCCURRED and I was told that they would leave a note for the manager/owner. I was told the owner would be out of town a week the next time I called and on the 3rd time I called I was told she was still out of town. When the owner called back and left a message....she stated they do not give refunds for unacceptable rooms. My employee was so grossed out by all the bugs that another room at the hotel would not have been acceptable. All I wanted was a refund for the room that was not acceptable. I got the run-around, no refund, and the hotel LYING in it's response to my review. Any decent company would not make you pay for a room that had bugs and would respond to you promptly when a problem like this occurs. It is sad that they feel it is acceptable to conduct business in this manner. read more

Loved dolphin key resort. It is close to good restaurants. ( soaked cork, two amigos, and monkey bar were great!). The free breakfast is good. Pool was so nice and the tiki bar is a blast! I stayed here for 18 days in August for some family business. I was pleasantly surprised. Big rooms, clean, a bit musty smelling, but the grounds are nice. Having the bar nearby is fun! Only thing is the breakfast lacks anything substantial. And... since non guests who visit the bar park in guest spaces, it would be nice to dedicate the spaces in front of rooms for guests only. Do yourself a favor and book a different hotel. Dolphin Key "Resort" (the quotations are used here for a reason...this is the furthest place from a resort) was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was so terrible that we didn't even stay the night due to the infestation of ants in the room and the insanely loud music. You cannot even hear the TV due to the music playing at the bar. We attempted to get a refund because of our terrible experience, however we were never able to get a hold of the manager (after several attempts). It really IS as bad as it sounds. Stay at the Holiday Inn right next door or another reputable hotel. read more

The MOTEL is average at best. Tiki bar is cool and the staff there is friendly. Owners/ managers absolutely horrendous. Not personable at all nor anything close to customer oriented. I travel extensively- 175-200 nights per year in a hotel around the world- definitely the bottom tier for customer focus service. Basically if you want a cheap simple place to lay your head- it's okay. But if you expect anything more- you will be putting them out. By the way- no pets allowed but the owners/ managers have a rug rat of a dog that has full run of the place. Very simple example of the quality management. (By the way, I didn't bring a dog but I am a dog owner- I'm simply trying to share the double standard you will get here.) the only consumption of food and beverage at the pool must be from the tiki bar otherwise you will absolutely get accosted. read more

Great place to stay in Cape Coral! Don't pay attention to the older reviews, this place was just renovated last year and is clean, bed is comfortable and the shower and toilet are awesome, I want them in my house. Located right near the bridge, close to downtown Cape Coral, and the Holiday Inn one block away is double the price. The gentleman at the front desk was very helpful, offering advice on the area (looking to relocate my mother-in-law from New York) and neighborhoods, questions to ask realtors, etc. I spoke with him later that night by the pool as well, very nice guy. Beautiful renovation, and the Tiki bar is crazy cool. Live music Tues-Sat, happy hour specials, and you can be in the pool the whole time! Breakfast is nothing special, but with the price per night so reasonable, including a breakfast just brings it over the top. Highly recommend, I will stay there every time I'm in the area. read more
