Stayed here for a business trip. It's located right on the beach and within walking distance to where all the bars and restaurants are in Fort Myers Beach. The room was clean and large but was dated. The couch and chair were faded but again were clean. Large screened in balcony with a table for four and two lounge chairs, sliders that lead into the bedroom and living space. The kitchenette was a nice surprise. The shower was small, I'm not that tall but when I stepped in my head was almost at the ceiling and had to bend over a bit to wash my hair. Water pressure was a little bit of an issue. Had a problem with the AC and maintenance beat us back to the room from the front desk ! Was fixed in less than 30 minutes. During our stay two beach chairs and an umbrella were complimentary! Will definitely stay here again and our group is even talking about having another meeting here next year !

Diamondhead could easily have a five star rating however they need to listen to their customers and give a care. After staying here for two nights, I see why there are five star reviews and 1-2 star reviews. Either they give you an updated room and what you paid for or they cheat you by giving you less than you paid for or neglect to inform you of things going on at the hotel. Here are the top five positive things from our trip. First, the view from the 8th floor was amazing. We were in a room on the side with a view of the pier. 2nd, the building is extremely solid. 3rd, the staff were nice except for rude manager who said his name was Nathan. 4th, I found the room to be clean upon arrival. 5th, the kitchenette in the suite had plates, silverware, glasses, coffee cups, can opener, cork screw, cutting board, a glass pyrex, salt & pepper, a candle, paper towel, kitchen towel, toaster, microwave, coffee pot and minifridge. It was enough for me to make antipasto to eat on the balcony while watching the sunset. Here are the top five negative things from our trip. First, I booked weeks in advance and did NOT book a handicap room. The modern walk in shower in my room description was nonexistent. Instead we had something out of a Bathfitter commercial. It was a tub with shower combo made out of plastic with tons of hand rails and a plastic seat for wheel chair occupants. The counter was cheap formica instead of granite in room description and the tile was old beige 12x12, not the updated tile as described. The toilet was extremely high off of the ground. 2nd, we arrived at 3:00 pm which starts check in time and when I called for a room change, they said they were at 97% occupancy. I am sure that every suite was not occupied yet and they just didn't want to accommodate us. The manager would not compensate either. After reading more reviews, other people got free drink coupons. 3rd, the hotel had live music with a large crowd that was roudy way past midnight and the second night a group of people were yelling in our hallway for more than an hour. 4th, I had just stayed at a Homewood Suites and it had a full kitchen and was gorgeously updated for much less than I paid here. The description for Diamonhead website had granite counter in kitchenette and updated tile. This had formica and old tile. 5th, the second day the room was warm. At first, I thought it was because it was really hot outside, then because we were opening the sliding glass door from time to time. I locked the slider and closed the curtain cutting off our view. I grew irritable at night with the stickiness and climbed up on a chair to feel the vent. It was blowing warm air. We called the front desk and they sent someone to flush the system. We suffered for more than eight hours because the air conditioner was not well maintained. Again, we were not compensated in anyway.

I stayed here for a week last month and had a pretty great time! We stayed on the 5th floor via a VRBO listing. The room and patio were nice and spacious, so had plenty of space to relax, sleep, eat. Our room had a minifridge, but no freezer section. Friends staying in the room across the hall from us did have a freezer (a small one, as you'd expect from a mini fridge). There was also a microwave, small stovetop, and dishwasher, with enough dishes to eat lunch and key lime pie we'd bought. There is a recycling bin, which was nice since we bought canned soda. Things were clean, though slightly dated and the furniture looked a bit worn. However, it appeared that updates were being made based on boxes we saw on the lower level. Due to COVID, there was no cleaning during our stay, which wasn't too big of a deal except that we were provided with one toilet paper roll, so had to stop by the desk several times for more. The shower toiletries are in pump bottles on the wall, so that will last awhile if they are full (I'm not sure our conditioner was). The screened-in patio was very nice - several lounge chairs as well as a table and chairs, perfect for lunch and watching the beach. The screen felt a little annoying at first (hard to take pics, can't lean on railing), but I never noticed any bugs, so that was a plus. One of my favorite things were the room keys, beach towels, and chair/umbrella setups at the beach. The room keys are in rubber bracelets - it feels a little silly at first, but is great because you don't have to worry about losing your keys at the beach (or anywhere else really). It was nice having designated towels for beach time, and while I've never had the chair/umbrella at the beach before, it was really nice to have a "spot" and a bit of shade. The beach was pretty nice, and had a low slope which meant you had to go out a ways to get to deep water and the beach changed dramatically with the tide. There was one low point where seaweed and old crab legs tended to accumulate that was kind of gross, but was also where some of the nice shells were if you like shelling. This was a small walk from the beach directly in front of hotel, so not -right- there, though I assume the beach is always changing. It's a fairly busy beach, but did not feel overcrowded. There is a small shower/wash hut before you enter the hotel so you can rinse off before going back inside. We had drinks from the Cabana once, and it was pretty good! You can take drinks purchased here down to the beach. Many frozen drink options to choose from. We did not try the fancier restaurant there - I suggest making reservations fairly early in the day. The Diamondhead is in a convenient location on the island - lots of restaurants nearby and a manageable walk from the main tourist area to the northwest. The main issue during our stay was construction and elevator service. The last 2-3 days of our stay there was what sounded like major renovation in the rooms above us. Since this is a place you'd spend most of your time outdoors, not a huge problem, but the construction noises were pretty unpleasant if you like sleeping past 9 am - thank goodness they didn't begin earlier! There are 4 main elevators, and I don't think there was ever a time all were in operation as they were being maintained. However, we did hear that this maintenance was happening because it's typically the slow season and this year was unusually busy being the first "open" summer since COVID. Waiting for an elevator was a minor inconvenience overall. The front desk and other staff we met were generally friendly and helpful. My

Wanted a weekend getaway for the holiday and granted it was rather last minute so I already had anticipated most places to be booked. Considered other options, but in reality, don't want to do Air bnb mostly because I don't want to be in a strangers living room, unless they're not there at all. Called multiple locations as I was driving to the area and they had availability here so I went ahead and booked based on amenities and location. The room had a kitchenette so that was perfect! Had a view to the beach and the stay included a beach chair and bike rentals during their service hours. The staff was wearing masks, very friendly and accommodating all around. Downstairs they have an open-air restaurant bar area and lo and behold, they had live music!! Yayyy!! Hadn't heard or seen live music since the stupid pandemic started so this was right down my alley :) And they have a ramp straight to the beach from there. The staff was all around great and the location couldn't have been better! Not in the straight mix of the mess, however far enough to enjoy some quiet, and walking distance to the hay day "downtown". It was a great stay :)

I would definitely recommend this hotel! It is legit a 2 minute walk to the beach & the bar outside is so convenient & the staff were very nice! The room was spacious & clean! They were doing construction on the 10th floor so I'm sure the rooms will be even nicer when they're done. They don't have daily housekeeping services due to COVID but you could request it if you wanted. This hotel is located right in FMB & you can walk to all the stores and restaurants. The pool & beach area were clean and neatly setup daily (don't leave your pool towels or they'll charge). The staff on the beach were super friendly & willing to help! They have daily water sport activities you can sign up for as well. The front desk staff morning & night were very friendly.

Very nice resort. When I was there, the water was awful brown from the algae/runnoff from Lake O, but I don't blame the resort for something beyond their control. Our room suite was clean, modern, and had overall very nice accommodations. We were on the 10th floor overlooking the pool and with a great view of the (yucky brown) Gulf of Mexico. I can only imagine the blue water! Staff was very friendly and helpful. My girlfriend is deaf and a gentleman from the front desk (Frank?? if my memory serves me right) came and helped us get the TV CC working when we were having issues. He did this at 10:30 at night, and had a great attitude of helpfulness. Being a Midwest boy by birth, it was really cool chatting with all the people at the resort - both employees and fellow visitors - from the Chicagoland area. We had a great time, and Cabanas had wonderful cocktails/frozen drinks we could enjoy at the bar or poolside. While the ocean water was disgusting, the beach was wide, spacious, clean and pristine. The property was under construction due to them restoring their on-site restaurant, but it was not a bother to us. The location was in easy walking distance to most everything in Fort Myers Beach. We drove very little and walked to dinner/shopping each day. We will certainly be back next time in FMB.

Awesome place! Great rooms, set up and service!! Cabana's bar has great staff/service, drinks & food! Stayed for spring break with friends and liked it so much our whole family came down this summer for vacation-will absolutely come back again! Also having Holiday Water Sports on the property is a huge plus as those guys are great and offer amazing dolphin jet ski tours!!

I absolutley love this place! the location is amazing. right in the beach and a close enough walk to downtown FMB and all the fun bars and restaurants on the way. we usually rent a moped to explore more but its a great location. the staff is amazing and so accommodating. from the front desk to the bell boys 5 stars. the rooms are very nice because it's got a little kitchen for rainy days to stock up and enjoy a relaxing day in the room. the bar downstairs is awesome. the older restraint was pricey but good and we have not yet tried the new place coste. we have never even thought to stay anywhere else. the private lanai is are favorite. so peaceful to sit outside at night or rainy evening hear the ocean play music and we bring a card game.

Outstanding clean and location was perfect!! No complaints at all we got there at 12:30 check in was supposed to be at 4 and room was ready!! Staff was soo nice too! Def going back again !!

The managers were so attentive and every time we passed by checked in on us to see what activities we had done or suggest new activities for us to do. Love the ease of the bracelets doing everything, being the key, room charge, proof we belong - super easy for everyone to keep track Of! The complimentary breakfast was "ok" nothing spectacular, but still decent. The guy who collected the towels by the pool (seemed like a manager/lead) was rude every single day - to the point we waited to take our towels back a few times to avoid another interaction. We will definitely be back!

They also have paid options like fishing charters and other nearby excursions. There are three pools total -- two family pools and one adults‑only pool -- plus a couple of hot tubs. Our room was amazing. We were on the first floor with a perfect view of the beach. The adults‑only pool was right in front of our balcony, so we could relax, listen to the music, or join the trivia games happening throughout the day. The room itself was spacious and included a kitchenette with a stove, which made it easy to cook if we wanted to. You can stay busy here or do absolutely nothing -- we chose the "chill" route. There are two restaurants and a bar on the property, but if you want more options, you can walk about 15-30 minutes (rough estimate) or drive 2 mins (fyi paid parking) to the main strip with plenty of shops and restaurants. The front desk also told us about a trolley that runs for $0.75 each way or $2.00 for an all‑day pass. Everything was close by, we didn't get in our car until it was time to head home. We'll definitely be coming back. It's a little on the pricier side, but with everything included -- and probably more that I'm forgetting -- it's absolutely worth it.

The resort offers a complimentary welcome drink, but I wouldn't really call it complimentary since there's a mandatory $35 daily resort fee that covers various amenities, many of which you may not even use. I also don't drink alcohol, so it wasn't much of a perk for me. I did take advantage of the 24-hour fitness center and was pleasantly surprised. There was a good variety of equipment, the treadmills worked well, and they provided complimentary towels, water, and even apples. My only criticism is that the gym could use a more thorough cleaning. One thing to know before booking is that this resort doesn't have a beach. That wasn't a dealbreaker for me because the pool was very nice. My mother and I drove to Sanibel Beach, which was only about 10-15 minutes away. However, parking was difficult to find, it costs $5 per hour, and the mosquitoes were relentless. Unless you're set on visiting the island, I'd recommend relaxing at the resort instead. The elevators worked well, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and professional. Overall, there wasn't anything particularly spectacular about this resort, but it provided a relaxing and enjoyable Fourth of July getaway for my family. I would recommend it to others. ****WARNING**** PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL - MARCH 2022…read more I've never been so disgusted and displeased with the state of a hotel room in my life. Especially in the era of the pandemic where every single business/service is toting an extra level of cleanliness and sanitation. It's like the Wyndham Garden Inn Fort Myers Beach chose to do the opposite. I've stayed in old, "cheap", no frills hotel rooms all my life and I can handle old with minimal amenities. I can't handle dirt and stains and filth and bugs in a hotel room I am paying close to $500 per night for. There were stains on every single piece of upholstery in the hotel room. Black dirt/dust along all the baseboards and light switches. Black dirt/dust on and in the AC unit. Bugs crawling around the window sills that were covered in dirt and dust. Dust covering every hard surface. I don't understand why they didn't bother to wipe them down? Some pieces of furniture looked like a dog chewed on it for a few hours. The noise from the live band that played nightly until 9 or 10 PM could have been tolerated but the uncleanliness of the room ruined that for me too. Honestly, maybe they hoped the band would be so loud and obnoxious that you wouldn't want to spend time in the room and by the time you returned back after the band and drunk bar goers left you'd be too tired to notice, or complain. I spent about 15 minutes in the room before I decided it was uninhabitable and went to the front desk to let them know I would not be staying there. The front desk said he couldn't do anything about it, I would still be charged (almost $500 per night, remember?) and that the manager would call me on Monday to sort it out. It's now Wednesday at 5PM and no phone call or email. I've even called the hotel once to follow-up. I was once again brushed off. Save yourself the trouble and hassle that I have gotten roped into. I read reviews before booking but admittedly did not read them super closely. The overall review score seems OK but something has happened recently. Something has changed and changed for the worse and most recent reviews are negative. I'm not sure what has gone wrong. New management, not enough staff???? Whatever it is, something needs to change. I hardly ever post negative reviews like this (check my profile) but the state of this hotel room was atrocious and I want others to be aware before you spend your hard earned money on a place like this. Do not give this hotel your business until they make REAL changes and actually make an effort to reach out and resolve the issues of their guests. At almost $500 per night, they should be able to afford to hire cleaning staff and room keepers. I've waited almost 6 days before posting this review to give the manager/Wyndham Garden Inn Fort Myers Beach a chance to reach out to me and make this right and they haven't.

We walked with our beach stuff out of our room probably 10 feet before our feet first touched sand. Then it's probably 100 yards to the water (the beach is very wide there). The Pinchers Restaurant, more like a beach tiki bar with great food and drinks, was our fun, regular hangout every day we were there. Live music on the weekends. Wave runners are available for rent on the beach. The hotel rooms are nothing to brag about (probably a 3-star hotel room at any other location) but we were there to go to the beach, not to stay in the room. We were very pleased with everything about our stay.

Caper Beach Club  Unit C311…read more Dear Owners of C311, Your condo is spacious, comfortable, clean, functional, and lovely.  We regret staying at The Caper Beach Club 3/22-3/29/25.  According to Diana (front desk employee) my family and I are, 'bad customers'. We're bad customers because our 5 & 6 year old boys were playing basketball with a floating toy we brought from home. See picture. Diana told us that the toy violated a pool rule, but suggested our children and their new friends should play with that toy on the small grass area next to the standing water and service street. (By the way, it's gross to walk around standing water to enter/exit the pool area.) Here are the pool rules that are most challenging for families: -No inflatables -No flotations -No ball playing Seriously, at a pool?? What if your kid can't swim? Who wrote and approved these? The same people who collect 20% of all rental income for the building? Yep, those grumpy anti-kid patrol curmudgeons who complain to the front desk. They're unliked by the rest of the property owners, and obviously us renters who selected this location because it seemed like a good place for families. On 3/27 the whole building was displaced due to no electricity and no water. Unbelievable. They hung these notes on our doors. We understand that sometimes unfortunate things can occur. When we asked Diana about compensation, or discounted options for us to have lunch, etc. they told us they were not responsible and would doing anything for renters.  Diana told us we could use the pool during that time- BUT the condo owners we met at the pool told us the pool's electric filtration system will not work and to stay out of the pool. (The same outage situation occurred a just before our arrival.) Thanks to the folks at Pink Shell for giving my family a discounted rate for a day pass. We appreciate the Fort Myers Beach hospitality.  We support Fort Myers Beach. We were excited to visit again after a couple of missed years. Our favorite places are Bay to Beach, Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise, Nervous Nellie's, Junkaroo on the Beach and so many more.  We'll be back to Fort Myers Beach, but will not stay at Caper Beach Club again.

Its unfortunate to have to write this, as it would take extenuating circumstances to get me to take the time to write a review and ensure future clients know what they are going to experience. Edison Beach House advertises itself as a 4-star hotel, but our stay was nowhere close to that standard. While the beachfront location is excellent, the condition of our room was extremely disappointing and appeared to reflect years of deferred maintenance. Throughout the room we found: Ripped and torn blankets Holes in the walls, including beneath the air conditioning unit Chipped and damaged paint Multiple stains on the walls Stained furniture cushions Stained headboard Stains on the refrigerator Missing towel holders Broken light switches Beds that were unstable and in need of repair When we requested additional bath towels, we were initially told the hotel had no more towels available! Eventually, towels were brought to us, but they were bath rugs for the floor, rather than hotel bath towels. Of all the hotels I have stayed in, never had this experience. I documented the condition of the room with 21 photographs, because I was genuinely surprised that a property marketed as a 4-star hotel would be maintained this way. I am attaching the photographs so this doesn't become my interpretation, it is being shared as reality. After returning home, I contacted Edison Beach House in an effort to resolve the matter privately before posting a public review. I spoke with the manager, Marlene, who represented herself as being in charge of the property. I explained our experience and offered to share the photographs documenting the room's condition. Unfortunately, the conversation was as disappointing as the stay itself. Rather than listening to our concerns or discussing a possible resolution, she blamed us for not reporting every issue during our stay, attributed the condition of the property to hurricane damage from several years ago, stated that she did not care what type of review I posted, refused to provide contact information for the owners when I requested it, and ultimately ended the call by hanging up on me. Had that interaction been different, I don't get to the point of posting this review. I was genuinely surprised by both the condition of the property and the lack of professionalism in how our concerns were handled. I expected a conversation focused on understanding the issues and making things right--not dismissiveness and hostility. For nearly $400 per night, I believe guests should expect a clean, well-maintained room and respectful customer service. In our experience, Edison Beach House fell well short of those expectations. The beachfront location is wonderful, but location alone does not justify the price or outweigh the condition of the accommodations and the way our concerns were handled. I hope management and ownership take these concerns seriously and make meaningful improvements so future guests have a better experience than our family did.

The inside is very clean, and it's nice that everything was recently renovated. They even have different pillow options- the first night my pillow height was too high, but I realized there was a thinner pillow, which I used the rest of my stay. The owners and employees are so friendly and always there (in person or by text) to answer questions or help. This place has everything you need: beach equipment, wagon, bikes, designated parking spot, even hydrocortisone cream. We had a car, but this place is perfect for those with no car. It's only a 5 minute walk to the closest beach, 12 min walk to the lighthouse beach (and a lot of beach parking on the island is not free). It's surrounded by good food- our favorite restaurant on the island (wickies) is just across the street, along with great ice cream. Just to the right is the deli where we got yummy bagels and coffee many times. I also prefer staying on this side of the island as it's much more cozy, small-town feel, and walkable than the other side and down by the beach resorts (we drove out to see). Our flight got cancelled on our last day and Joe was so accommodating with their equipment and outdoor space. My one very minor and personal opinion suggestion would be that the fluorescent bulbs made the room feel a bit blue and stark at night, if the bulbs had a yellow tint it would feel even more cozy. We can't wait to bring our kids when they're a little older and stay here again!

Unfortunately I did not sleep a wink here, I am a super light sleeper and unfortunately the room next to ours had a couple of baritone guys that woke up at 4:30 in the morning ughhh...the beds were not the most comfy unfortunately either adding to a bit of my suffering as well. Giving it 4 stars. I unfortunately should have gotten some earplugs after the first night. I felt like they were talking to me since their convo was so close to our headboard. Owners seemed to go above and beyond so probably unfortunately just the loud guests we were next to combined with my light sleeping tendencies!!!

He got us and our friends off to our rooms quickly and as we saw him around the grounds the rest of the week was always cheerful and a joy to chat with. We got a Cabana for two days, and Melissa was our assigned waitress on day one. Simply stellar. She kept checking up on us, provided great advice on what to do, and our group of 14 couldn't have had a better time. Scott helped us out on day two when our assigned waiter for the cabana (who I won't name) was a little too much on the younger side to be able to be as attentive and simply had a hard time making the connection that Melissa and Scott did. Melissa and Scott had water shoes, and were not afraid of coming right up to us when we were on the edge of the pool, as it was no deal to get their shoes wet. We WILL be back; we WILL ask for Melissa and Scott. Otherwise, in the resort, it was extremely clean and the atmosphere was spot-on. The coffee shop next to the pedestrian bridge to the pool from the main hotel helped with the bender hangovers, and the staff there were very nice. The lobby on the second floor was nice, as the parking and utilities for the hotel are on the hurricane-flood-prone ground floor. There was night entertainment out on the promenade, and I was grateful that we had a room on the outside of the hotel not overlooking the promenade, but I noticed by 1030pm, the loud music was gone. Good balance between partying and letting us drunks sleep. Great party hotel. Great DJ earlier in the day. The couple who sang and played music in the DJ Cabana also were great. The later-in-the-day DJ was less impressive; he hesitated to play some of the songs we requested. The location was central to many dining and entertainment options. The shop in the lobby had some essentials we forgot as well. If there is any critique; continue to focus on making sure the younger wait staff have no problems with old-fashioned effective communication and making time to check back in plenty of times throughout the day, especially if the cost of the drinks is as high as it is. I have no problem paying for it if the wait staff are as attentive as Melissa and Scott.

Our family was excited to experience the new Margaritaville in Fort Myers Beach. We are Floridians,…read morefrom the other coast, and we have always enjoyed FMB, which is only a few hours away. Upon arriving, we were told that a luggage cart was only available through a bellhop service. They only offer valet, as a side note. When we checked in, we did receive a complimentary margarita, but no smiles or warmth. This carried on throughout the weekend; none of the staff seemed pleased to be there, and only one of them even smiled back or said hello. The room was clean and new, and the theming is on point. It is a beautiful place and as a PH, I truly enjoyed the music and the decor. Everything is so Margaritaville -- colors, music, theme. All 10/10. When it came to restaurant staff, we had the opposite experience and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time at the downstairs bar and at the JWB, which is more of an upscale dining experience with a beautiful view of the beach. The pool does not open until 9am, but we brought our own tent and chairs because we were researched and knew that the public beach is right next to the resort. This was the best move we could have made! Highly recommend if you're driving and can bring your own beach supplies. I do believe that you can have a complimentary umbrella and 2 chairs as an overnight guest, but we were pleased to be able to have our own space. The other thing worth mentioning is that you cannot bring food or drink into the pool area -- not even from their own restaurant/bar. I purchased lunch from the downstairs restaurant and as I was waiting to bring it to the beach, I was told that I could not bring my drink into the pool area right next door. It's all one resort, and organization, but I assume they are worried about people bringing their own cocktails in the cups they provide. There should be an option to show your receipt or at least people should be aware of that before they spend $15 plus on a drink at a POOL/ BEACH BAR. I would say that we had a great experience because we were with family and the beach is stunning regardless of where you stay. The weather in July is touch and go, so we were blessed with mostly clear days. Would I recommend a stay here? No. I think that there are many other places with the same view and a similar experience, and we felt like we were charged for every little thing, plus the unfriendly staff. Even as we were checking out and making several trips to our vehicle, housekeeping kept trying to enter our room (before check out) no matter how many times I explained we were still working on moving out.
