The seating room is cozy, and I loved the antique typewriters and little wine games on the tables. I was hoping there might be a view of the river given the building location, but apparently the balconies/roof are owned by a hotel in the same building. That said, this was a very cute and cozy spot to sit and taste. The woman pouring was very friendly and she knew a lot about the wines. The pours were pretty light but it's hard to complain when you're paying $15. None of the wines stood out to me, but I liked the Cab Franc best. Both red wines were served colder than I expected, which I didn't mind but I know some people really do. This honestly would have gotten five stars, but there were fruit flies everywhere! They were swarming us the whole time, and several got into our wine :( I think this is largely unavoidable because the entire front wall is open to air, but it did mean we were having to swat flies the whole time we were there.

Typically I visit the vineyard, but on a rainy Saturday decided to check out the downtown location on Oak Street. Even though it was close to closing, I was greeted and welcomed in by Kelsey who provided exceptional service. It's a cozy space with low lighting and lots of tables and chairs, although during these Covid days, no bar seats. There is a smaller room in the back with big comfy leather chairs and if it's available, I prefer sitting there. They offer several variations of tastings and I highly recommend the Legacy tasting for $25 that has six tastings each paired with a delicious bite. The chosen appetizers are the perfect accompaniment to each wine. For example, for the lightest they pair a skewer if prosciutto, melon and mozzarella. With a bolder red, it's sausage. And with the last tasting, the Quiver, it's a homemade dark chocolate truffle infused with Quiver wine and topped with sea salt. It's an exceptional tasting and food pairing and really allows you to fully enjoy the wine. When I visit this is the tasting option I choose and finish with a glass of Cabernet. If there with friends, we share a bottle of the Cabernet and also an order of the artichoke dip. I'm now a club member so I'm happy they have two locations and both are open every day, which is not the case with most wineries in the Hood River area. If the weather is nice, I drive out to the vineyard; but if it's cold and rainy or I'm short in time, I hit up the downtown location. For those visiting this area, try both the vineyard and the downtown locations! Same great wine, both have a cozy atmosphere and great service, but the views of Mt. Adams and the outdoor and roof covered space at the vineyard must be experienced! I bring all of my friends to Stave & Stone and two have also become members after thoroughly enjoying their wines.

(Fuller than regular Pinot), and Quiver red blend, mix of Merlot, Zinfandel and Syrah. They also do nice pairing with small bite, I would have done if I just didn't my lunch. They also have vineyard in Odell, a couple of fire places and cozy and beautiful even during the winter (that was said by other customers sat next me). I will try the winery location next time!

A perfect everyday drinking wine And good for parties where you need a wine that pleases many palettes.The other standout for me was the Barbera. Very smooth, full body and slightly jammy. Since I'm in a Barbera club at Cascade Cliffs, I left with the Locomotive. I'm looking forward to a warm spring day to sit in my deck and enjoy with friends.
