This is a nice spot in White Salmon good seating area. We had never been and so turned up a little…read moretoo early (they don't open until 3:00) but made it back after visiting a few other wineries. The seating room is cozy, and I loved the antique typewriters and little wine games on the tables. I was hoping there might be a view of the river given the building location, but apparently the balconies/roof are owned by a hotel in the same building. That said, this was a very cute and cozy spot to sit and taste. The woman pouring was very friendly and she knew a lot about the wines. The pours were pretty light but it's hard to complain when you're paying $15. None of the wines stood out to me, but I liked the Cab Franc best. Both red wines were served colder than I expected, which I didn't mind but I know some people really do. This honestly would have gotten five stars, but there were fruit flies everywhere! They were swarming us the whole time, and several got into our wine :( I think this is largely unavoidable because the entire front wall is open to air, but it did mean we were having to swat flies the whole time we were there.

White Salmon is an unsung gem - shhhhhhh - don't tell anybody! Across the river from the burgeoning…read morecommunity of Hood River, White Salmon is the MUCH smaller, quiet, charming town. CLYZM is a great little winery that was open until 9:00 PM - it becomes a locals' place, for the most part, after about 7:00 PM, when the stories begin! Fine wine, wonderful host, what's not to like!

It was a small winery so I wasn't sure what to expect but I met the guy running place and found out a little about his family legacy so after that I was sold! I can always go and buys a nice bottle of wine but I will definitely always be a fan of a wine that has history and know what it took to make! Go experience it for yourself and enjoy the entire history of their wine , you'll be amazed how much they are a part of OR state and still enjoy their journey

Small, intimate family run winery with wonderful and affordable wines. Julie was attentive,…read moreknowledgeable, friendly but never intrusive. Located right on 2nd Street in The Dalles, it's a great place to stop if you're wandering the various tasting rooms and bare pubs in the area. Since it was my first time here, I did the flight. The first wine, the Locomotive, had me with the very light taste with hints of honey and papaya. Not one to typically drink whites, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. On a warm or even hot day, this would be perfect. As I made my way through the tasting, I found that I was enjoying several of their wines. The High Tension, their club favorite, was a full bodied blend of Syrah, Merlot and Barbera. A perfect everyday drinking wine And good for parties where you need a wine that pleases many palettes. The other standout for me was the Barbera. Very smooth, full body and slightly jammy. Since I'm in a Barbera club at Cascade Cliffs, I left with the Locomotive. I'm looking forward to a warm spring day to sit in my deck and enjoy with friends. The tasting room inside is small and simple. A picnic tables and seats out in the paved area out front, nice on a sunny day. I'll definitely be back.
