Really cool vibe here. We were wandering the river walk looking for a lite bite and saw this place, Domingo, and walked in and sat at the bar. Very vibrant experience - GREAT bartender- he walked us through the options and we ordered a few sharbles. The street corn - OMG - excellent. Cervechie phenominal ! The chips were great. While the initial meal started out ok, seated promptly & net by waitress with water right away. The food (main entree and appetizer) were cold. Both queso and chicken enchiladas were Luke warm upon arrival, making them go completely cold throughout eating. Waitress while nice, isn't quite suited for the job, would be better suited at a pub or bar atmosphere. Bar beverages arrived very late, spent the majority of our time waiting for food and drinks. Then when asked about food allergy issues the waitress was not knowledgeable at all. We had a minor panic when our tacos were served with what appeared to be an oil based cream sauce - when after further inspection it was actually yogurt based. It made for a frightening experience. Disappointed is the only word I can use to describe our experience. The cloth napkin also ruined my outfit by shedding lint all over me. Will not return. Such a cool restaurant on the RiverWalk! My friends and I spotted this restaurant while we were walking by and decided to eat at Domingo for lunch. I loved the atmosphere - it was very open and even while sitting "inside" you were still exposed to a view of the RiverWalk. My favorite thing was the Churro Waffles, which tasted amazing - I loved the way they were presented and the churros were very light and fluffy (reminded me of Japanese pancakes). They also had a Mai Tai mimosa which was very good. Everyone in San Antonio is very friendly, and our waitress brought very good vibes. The first time I went here I didn't make reservations so they stated that it would take 1.5 hours for me to get seated. I'm glad I made reservations in advance the second time as they were quoting the same wait time. The server Justin was great, however it was a bit of a wait to get our order and the check which wasn't his fault. They were just short on staff for the amount of customers. I enjoyed the food such as the elote which came off the cob served on a metal griddle pan (chips on the side which the server suggested). I wanted to order the short rib quesadilla, but they ran out for the night. Therefore, I decided to order tender Braised Short Ribs which had this sauce on it that made it go with the extra chips. The Poblano Burger had wagyu in it and it was delicious. Last but not least for dessert I got churros as there were only three items. The churros was piping hot and the breading inside seemed to be different from other churros that I've had before. The two sauces for it was different too. I really had high hopes for this place. I'm on the hunt for one place in San Antonio to have a GOOD margarita and great chips and salsa. Unfortunately, this ain't it. I am from the DFW area, and if you don't know, it's the margarita and Tex-mex capital of the world! So many good options. I just believe in my heart that San Antonio should have a good option (I just can't find one)... and this place has the look. But the taste is just off. The margaritas are $16 +, but come out of the tap. Bland and watered down. I always want a margarita shaken. I also can't believe a Mex place does NOT offer chips and salsa complimentary. That's a Texas sin. I tried the poblano burger, medium. It was ok, but really dry. The fries were good. Ultimately, my test for a good marg is to have the bartender make my favorite, Blanco tequila, Cointreau, and lime. He did, but added fake lime juice and didn't use Cointreau. It also wasn't good. I came to San Antonio, and it's known for the River Walk. So I was just doing some sightseeing, I looked at the bridge and I thought, 'Man, if I do a flip off this bridge, that would be super-cool.' I was in town for job interviews last year and we were very surprised at the quality of restaurants in this town. Love the location, gorgeous patio right on the riverwalk. I went in the middle of summer and sat outside and was not sweltering surprisingly, there was a good air flow, multiple fans. Was not very busy in the middle of the week so service was 5 stars. We genuinely love this place, and go every time we're in the area, sometimes more than once per trip. This last time we did dinner and brunch the next day. I almost prefer brunch because majority of our favorites is available for brunch (except the halibut ceviche - which is a must try if you go for dinner) Love the green chicken enchiladas, the sauce is so good so I'd recommend just getting a side of that to dip your chips in:) the quinoa bowl left a little to be desired, it was too soupy, but the salad on it was good. ALWAYS get the churro waffle if you go for brunch and the fresh juice. Sit outside when possible, it's so pretty next to the riverwalk. Inside is a little dark. Service was pretty good. Came here with a friend for dinner on a week night. I've been wanting to eat here for a while now, and I'm so glad I finally had the chance! We both ordered drinks- she got the margarita and I ordered the Rio Rosa. My drink was great! A strawberry mule that was not overly sweet. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and then I got the enchiladas. The food was very good, but not outstanding. It's also kind of crazy to pay $26 for an enchilada plate that doesn't include rice or beans.... The ambiance is great for drinks though! Comfortable booths and chairs, nice lighting, view of the riverwalk if you sit outside. Of course since it's at the riverwalk parking can be really annoying. We came to domingo for our anniversary tonight. I requested an outside table close to the river. Just wanted to add that we just moved to SA 2 weeks ago so we chose the restaurant for the location and we also have 4 kiddos. Taquitos quesadilla elite, fish tacos,halibut Rojo and enchiladas. They all came out in good time and tasted good. We ordered 2 brownies and the churros. The churros was raw in the middle and the brownie was OK. These desserts were disappointing. Seeing its a fancy mexican place I expected dessert that was a bit different too The problems I had was this. 1. Our table was not touched enough. We think our server was very nice but either she had too much ground to cover working outside and going all the way to rhe kitchen. Or maybe they were understaffed. No dishes were cleared away unless it had to be. A dish came out so they needed to make space. We also werent given more water and ice when it was quite hot outside. We also had to keep looking for her to get things like return our drink and get share plates. Get ice. And it took along time to be received. Sunday night at Domingo sounds like a good idea. It 100% is a fantastic idea. We made a reservation for 5pm for 4, we ended up leaving 15 minutes later than we anticipated. I called ahead and the host said that she could move our reservation to 5:30, but if we got there earlier we'd be seated earlier. She was very accommodating and when we arrived, we were seated close to the river. With the last few moments of daylight, we waved to the river tours passing by. At first there was always one person to wave back, but then the sunset. The outdoor space is gorgeous with concrete and wood accents, lush green plants, and striped blue cushions on benches that complimented the orange backed chairs. Each table is tiled in black and white, and comes with a small lamp that comes in handy when dining in the evening. Came here once with a friend for a late evening snack. I remembered each dish was excellent. The meats were cooked til tender. This time, we got different dishes. To start we had the elote which is served without the cob, with chips and guacamole. We also got the cornbread, and it rivals the legendary cornbread at Hatchet Hall on the west side of LA. That honey butter brings it to the next level. I was thinking about that el campo salad, and that rounded out our starters with fresh strawberry and jalapeno vinaigrette--very citrusy, but not spicy. We ordered our own mains. The one who got the burger was disappointed. I think if he hadn't removed the grilled onions, it probably would've been better. I'm always disappointed by "wagyu" burgers. Everyone else loved their dishes. I was intrigued but the watercress and squash served alongside the pollo asado. When my dish arrived, I was so pleased to see the bright colors of red tomatoes, yellow squash, green watercress and creamy tangy avocado base. The seasoning was heavy handed in a good way. Our server was cheerful and welcoming. She was sweet and checked in on us frequently. We got a refreshed water bottle often enough that we never had to ask for it. She offered more chips and at first I declined, but who can really resist chips? The salsa has a subtle roasted flavor, that doesn't overpower the tomato. They even comped a bev for us as a treat. I enjoyed the street corn and the poblano burger but my only negative is that the burger was just a little too salty. I had the fall spice old fashioned and really enjoyed the flavors. The ambience is beautiful. The decor really transformed you to another place and sitting on the patio was the cherry on top. For dessert we had the sorbet, which was strawberry and mango that day. The mango was absolutely delicious, I didn't enjoy the strawberry as much. I appreciated the server letting us know orders were taking about 40 minutes when we were first seated. The service timing was off. We got our entrees about 5 minutes after ordering them but our appetizers which we ordered well before hadn't arrived. When we arrived, with reservations, at 1030 Sunday am we saw the outside was not full and we asked to sit there. The seater told us other reservations may need out there or something lame. We sat inside in Maria's section. She was not friendly, but more flat and walking through the motions. We ordered the breakfast burrito to share, Greek yogurt to share and the elote. Maria asked if we wanted chips and salsa with our elote, which seemed a strange question. The burrito was ok. The yogurt was unsweetened and had 4 blueberries and 2 cut up strawberries. The chips were semi stale and from a bag. The salsa was good. When we received the bill we were charged $7.50 for the chips! If we hadn't ordered them I guess we would have eaten them with a spoon? Another family, with a stroller were seated across from us, against the wall. She was very curt with the dad abs asked him to fold down and put away the stroller. We sat down, were given menus after waiting for the hostess to get off of her call, ordered appetizers, and were then told that the menu we were given is no longer valid as they were prepping for dinner. Unfortunately. The bar menu they gave is only had one non-beef option. The food arrived and was good, but our server was ghost and hardly checked in with us. They were out of items, and it definitely felt like we were being served out of obligation since they were preparing for dinner. If you do visit, you should come during the non-bar menu hours, so you get better service and have a decent menu to order from. Basically, not between 3 to 5 PM.
