Don't think that because you've been coming here for decades since way before they moved to this current building that it gives you privilege to be rude if they can't attend to you right away, or that you can walk in and not expect a wait. They're busy! Expect a wait. I went this year due to the fact that I moved back from Utah, went back to school, and have a unique tax situation and wanted to make sure I filed correctly. I wasn't prepared, and I didn't take all of my documents. Bertha was patient with me, she explained my options, and she even called the IRS while I was there and helped me get more information regarding my W2's. I had an appointment with Bertha at 3:00pm and decided to show up early (2:30) just in case I needed to get paper work filled out since this was my first time coming here. No one helped me or asked me if I had an appointment. An older lady sitting across the lobby with glasses was on her cell phone and a gentleman and her chatted for a bit as well and neither of them came to help us out. After ringing the bell twice I decided to leave, I called them on my way home and never received a called back. DO NOT COME HERE!!! Do TurboTax, H&R Block, anywhere and anyone else, THIS PLACE IS THE WORST!! I arrived here at 7 am because I didn't know they opened at 9 am. I didn't get seen till 1pm but other walk in were seen before I was taken care of. 25 days later and no refund. So I called and the secretary told me to check for my refund status on the IRS website, so I did and NOTHING WAS THERE. I check under my name and my husband's and nothing was there. So I called them and they said they would have to call me back. The next day after no call back, I called them and the girl on the phone said she would have to research my file. Research what! You have my name and my info what do you need to research. She said she would call me back. A day pasted and nothing. I was 4 day from April 15th and I was thinking THEY NEVER FILED. So I called, I had my husband call and we were just getting the run around. One secretary told us that there was a mistake on our paper work. If there was a mistake then why would it take you 25 DAYS TO CALL US SO WE CAN FIX IT!! And they refused to tell us what the mistake was. Not until I told them we were going to come into the office and speak with Bertha directly because no can can give us a straight answer, they told us to hold on. And came back on the line and said "Oh am checking the IRS website and it shows that it is there." We check and oh suddenly it's there!! We asked them "so what was the mistake?" And the woman on the phone said "oh there was no mistake." They have to had filed it that moment and not 25 days earlier. Horrible experience, un-professional staff. Avoid the unnecessary stress and DO NOT GO HERE. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Bertha for about three tax years now and there have been some hiccups in the past but never to the point where we want to warn other people about the horrible work done here. One year we were audited and had to pay the IRS over 1k and when we tried to contact Bertha to see what happened she avoided our calls for about a month. This tax year we went back and we're supposed to receive a tax return in March but have not received it to this day (6 months later) we have been trying to speak with her for 6 months. The receptionist takes our messages and tells us Bertha will call us back but have not heard any resolutions. We are to the point where we are about to open a fraud case with the IRS because we are completely in the dark. I just called the office again to make an appointment with Bertha and the receptionist kept cutting me off and refusing to make my appointment. We don't know what else to do to have this office cooperate with us. PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! read more

Was just told by IRS my 2015 tax were never filed I called and for 3 days they said they will call me back now they don't answer my calls!!!

Gina Dominguez is by far the worst person we've ever dealt with. 2016 and 2017 taxes were prepared by her. IRS is now wanting over $2k from us because the 2016 taxes were prepared incorrectly. For the 2016 tax, it came down to the last day before the deadline. She wouldn't answer calls, her secretary just kept telling us she's busy and she'll take down a note that we called. In 2017, we made the mistake of giving Gina another try. She ended up NOT completing our taxes in time, having to file for an extension. She said she was too busy and overwhelmed. Because of this, we had to pay $20k up front to not incur interest from the IRS. I've CCed Bertha and others on my communications but they didn't care to respond. Never again and my suggestion to you is, if you care about your money...don't take your taxes to Dominguez Tax. I was recommended this place by a friend who used them for many years. But it appears they only care about their old clients and not new ones. read more

Bertha was the most educated and helpful tax agent I have worked with! She got me more than TurboTax was going to refund me last year. When I was born, the hospital put my SS DOB different from my birth certificate and she STILL got the e-certification to work. So many years of it being rejected and she got it to work with no issues. read more

If I could give this Business and its owner a no star I definitely would. Bertha herself filed my parents taxes for over 10 years. The IRS had them audited and now there 80k in debt. She basically ruined there lives. There income was being garnished from there checking account. They could not move forward and become US citizens due to this debt. I really don't understand what's been going on. I went here for my 2019 taxes, no problem. It was fast and great so of course I was going back here. For some reason for my 2020 taxes, it's like they refuse to give me an update. I had my documents submitted early March and every time I tried to call for an update, I kept getting "It will be done within the next 2 weeks, we got busy" or "It should be done this week!". If I emailed Bertha directly, I never get a response. The last email I got from her was just confirming that she received all my documents. If I call in, the lady on the phone sees my emails and then give me the same vague "it will be done soon" answer. So now it's past the tax deadline, it's been 3 months later, and I STILL have not been contacted back if they are even going to file them or not. Been looking for a new place to go to and filed an Extension of Time with the IRS. This is ridiculous, so much confusion on my end for seemingly no reason. I went to this company for 3 straight years. Now I realize I might spend the next few years expecting to get a letter from the IRS every time I open my mailbox. Their prices are unbeatable, but the old adage "You get what you pay for" rings true. For the past 3 years, Gina Dominguez sat down with me, and went over a list of all my deductions for a solid 15 minutes. Today I sat across from my new accountant who informed me that she didn't even file the additional deduction form. Do not use these guys. If you want to save money you're better off using turbo tax. Or, just pay the extra money for a real accountant, which will likely pay for itself in a better return. This is fast food tax preparation. They're cheap, they're fast, and they'll leave you in bad shape in the long run. Avoid this place! read more

I had gone to previous notary in the past, only to get to recorder's office and find that language was outdated. Fabio is organized and keeps up to date. She's an asset to this business. I used Gina Dominguez at Domimguez tax service,what a mistake that was.....I filed my taxes in February,and I still,haven't received my refund......if,you want to save,yourself,frustration, do not use this tax service .......I,suspect fraud,as well as scheming....I had to hire an attorney as well,as file a complaint with the IRS.........dealing with them has been a nightmare....when I call to,ask about my refund, she screamed at me and used profanity as well.....once again I repeat, do not use them ever....... read more

Worst service EVER!!! The women in this office are so rude and unhelpful. I came in during the week at about 2:15pm, doors were locked. I was told lunch was from 1-2pm and there weren't back. They finally opened the doors back up at about 2:30pm and they totally ignored. Instead there was a lady right in front window talking about another Customer who wasn't getting it to another woman in the background. Then she mentions after about 4 minutes, hey there is someone here but then continues to talk crap about the other customer. They didn't notarize my documents properly and I kept coming for 2 days to get them fixed, but notary person wasn't there, was off and kept leaving early. And the receptionist has such a fowl attitude. This office seems like it is just full of caddy women who can't properly do their jobs. Which is horrible to say because I stand by Latina women who are running business. Shame on this business, don't go there and waste your time and money. read more
