This Deli is one of my favorites in Fallbrook. Sad that I moved out of town now, but I will forever be a customer! The red sauce is now my favorite (previously was not a fan on my last review over 9 years ago). Everything else is still great and you cannot beat the customer service! Great local spot that was suggested by someone who lives here. I always try to fi d a non corporate place to eat when I'm out of town Very friendly staff when you order. Classic old school family owned Italian Delicatessen. I ordered the Italian Beef with Bell Pepper and added provolone cheese. Everything had great flavor and the bread was SO fresh and soft. Sandwiches made to order... I also love that when you walk in and order they immediately wash their hands! Fabulous start Their sandwiches are not skimpy on anything, and meat cheeses and breads are fantastic! Also in their freezer section is made to go sauces, pastas, and even desserts! I will grab a sandwich then grab some dinners for later. They are frozen so you bring them home, either freeze for a later date or cook! Really cute little delicatessen with some of the staff being very friendly. We ordered an Italian sub and a meatball sandwich on April 29. The meatball came out without the cheese being very melted and the bread was so soft we asked if we could have it toasted longer. That's when I told us they don't toast any sandwiches which I thought was kind of weird for meatball and even weirder for sandwich shop. After we asked for that when I went back in the girl I asked to toast the sandwich was giving me a glare. Plus the meatball was more like a sloppy Joe not like a real meatball. Someone else here described it as hamburger helper and I've never had that but I'm imagine that's probably what it was more like. I like my meatball on a more substantial bread not soft and pillowy but it was good for the Italian sub which was excellent. Another star off because two employees were eating lunch outside and were talking about people who are "white trash". I get that it's their lunch but when you're sitting next to it a couple of white people it's kind of just as offensive as using any other racial slur. read more

Frequented Dominick's for lunch when we first moved to Fallbrook in 2011. We left in 2013 and hadn't been back since. Moved back up here in 2018 and decided to try them again for lunch today after 11 years, and it was just as good as we remembered. The bread, the toppings, the meat and of course, the avocado! Honestly, the sandwiches are decent but I would avoid it. The service is terrible. The ladies at the front are upset and short with customers. I'm not sure if they had a terrible day or just don't care to be remotely respectful. I went there with a friend who really likes the food but she noticed the same thing. There was no greeting when we got there. As stated I came w/ my friend and was right next to her but was asked to step back and make line. Mind you there was no one else in there. I tried to get some feedback on the sandwiches and got short answers. I paid for 2 sandwiches, drinks and chips and wasn't even offered a bag. Great little Italian deli, everything made fresh. I've never been to a place with so many extra options, which is great! Sandwiches were phenomenal, so much so that I didn't even get a picture of them. We ordered the BLT and Italian Beef with peppers. Service was great, staff was friendly and greeted everyone. There is even a little dinning area in the next room for those who want to eat there. If I'm in the area again I'd definitely come back and try another sandwich. read more

As someone who grew up in Fallbrook, this was the spot I would hit up every weekend and every chance u got. The subs are way better than any chain. They out love into making your food. And the owner is the nicest person! The place is so cool! It's part delicatessen part Italian grocery store. You can anything from fresh pasta to Dominic's merch. Highly recommend this place! This place isn't as good as it used to be. I'm honestly very upset about this experience as this is one of the few locations I usually enjoy in Fallbrook. I frequent this location often and haven't had issues until today. I ordered 2 sandwiches to go. The first was supposed to be a hot sandwich but was cold by the time we picked it up, 10 minutes after placing the order even though they told us 15 minutes. The other had black olives added and they only put 10 olive slices on it. I called once I realized it at home. They offered to credit me for the olives (which once I complained a second time the "manager" claimed they never charged me for) on my next order or remake the sandwich. I asked them to remake it, went to pick it up and I could tell they threw it together without a single care. There was barely any meat, the lettuce was soaking wet which made the bread disgustingly soggy. They kept the initial sandwich so I couldn't compare it and insisted that the mayo made it soggy. I order the same thing every time and it's never like this. The "manager" with facial piercings tried to say they couldn't issue a refund because we ate half the sandwich. I had to drive back to their location 3 times to try to get it made right or a refund. They tried to refuse a refund after taking the sandwiches back and told me the owner would call me about the issue. I am highly turned off by how the girls behind the counter dealt with this issue, huge lack of customer service and empathy to a paying customer. I paid $30 for the sandwiches alone. They finally gave me a refund after I returned the 3rd time with the soggy sandwich, mind you they already took the other sandwich back without issuing a refund the 2nd time I came back. The "manager" with facial piercings saw my boyfriend come in the 3rd time and threw up her hands saying "I am not dealing with him"and walked away... not good customer service at all especially from someone claiming to be a manager. Definitely won't be returning any time soon due to lack of care by the employees. Sad to have to write off another fallbrook owned business. read more

Dominick's is a great spot to get your eat on! Their sandwiches are huge and reasonably priced. Their lot has tons of parking and the restaurant is clean! I appreciate a well made sandwich. Sometimes a mom and pop spot does much better than the national chain sandwich places. I won't name names out of respect for their businesses because I'm sure people enjoy their offerings as well. Came here out of curiosity because we bought our home that Dominick was the 1st owner of here in Fallbrook. Service in this place is lacking in the front side of the house. The kids at the counter don't even acknowledge you when you come in, or even say, "Hey, we'll be with you in a minute" etc... They had a pretty good line with no acknowledgment to anyone. The sandwiches were decent to good, but not great. I don't like their bread choice for some reason, and please use avocado slices and not smear on smashed avocado. Will try other sandwiches. Will be back because they're local and want to give it another shot, but hoping at least the service aspect of it gets improved. read more

I went here for some subs for my family. I was a little disappointed with my sub... but the meatball sub is SUPER GOOD! The meatball sub had lots of flavor. Loved it!! I ordered a roast beef but it didn't have much flavor. I was hoping the Au Jus sauce had some deep flavor but it was bland. Also, I am not super picky about the facemasks and whatnot... I don't care if someone wears or doesn't wear it (most people who wear one are constantly adjusting them from the mouth area which defeats the entire purpose) but... what did concern me was the person who took my order, went on to touch the bread and ingredients with bare hands without washing first. At the bare minimum, at least WASH HANDS prior to making a sub. Hands were not washed. If they can't wash hands, then use disposable gloves prior to handling food. Especially after writing down an order and touching other objects prior to me coming in. I am willing to try this place once more (At least to try something else on the menu) but if I still see employees not wash hands prior to making my sub, or at least wearing gloves... I think I will have to pass coming back after that. I did like the variety of other items available for sale. There is plenty of seating too, so that was nice. Easy to find delicatessen. read more

Both me and my wife were looking for a good sub sandwich restaurant... Having traveled through Fallbrook for decades, Yelp steered us to a part of town that we never visited. We landed at Dominick's deli - let me tell you, we were SO glad we did! The "authentic" Italian choices are great and the atmosphere reflects that well. Additionally, it is refreshing to come across long-lived family owned eateries. Asking for a recommendation the younger son hinted that I should try the meatball sandwich - I am sure glad I took that advice! Now, don't get deterred by the vision of the Subway-style meatball sandwich; this is no comparison. I can honestly say, it WAS the very best meatball sandwich I have ever had! Furthermore, for the price it was a great deal - a large for $12 was more than enough to fill both me and my wife. We did not even get a chance to unwrap the second (roast beef) sandwich - that one came home with us and made for a complete dinner. I give my highest recommendation for Dominick's - definitely a "must try" for when you are wanting a top-notch sandwich.
